It can be interesting to know the origin of the problem, that's why I propose to you to post here some informations
about the brick context.
Can you reply in this format:
-model (F31xx)
-revision (printed on the box)
-bootloader status (locked or not)
-firmware before brick (include customization)
-root status
-firmware flashed (include customization)
-software used to flash and version
-for users who used Flashtool, you manually exclued TA partitions or used FSC file.
-other revelant informations
Please keep this thread clean of off-topic comments and don't ask how to fix.
I hope it will reveals the problem and help to fix it.

-other revelant informations
Flashed to get a nice unbranded firmware and it worked with no problems first time phone was purchased from EE shop i uk £119.99.

I had bricked it by using Flashtool by androxyde
MiModel(F1116)
Rev 4
bootloader status: unlocked by official method of sony then relocked by flashtool
firmware before brick: 33.2.B.3.105
root status: unroot
firmware flashed: 33.2.B.2.35 ( in sin section I had untick BOOTand FOTAKERNEL because of this only my phone bricked)
software used to flash: Sony mobile flasher by androxyde version 0.9.22.3
i had use FSC file
I had download ftf file from Xperifirm then flashed but in sin section I had exclude BOOT and FOTAKERNEL and flash the firmware because of this my phone dead, let me know if their is any method to fix this.
Now phone is not booting into flashmode or fastboot mode by pressing volume +or - keys and by pc in device manager it is detected as unknown device.

No solution once you bricked your sony xperia xa. The only one solution is to go for motherboard replaced.

The better thing is to explain how to do, you are here to make money or to help people?

I am here for both to earn money and also to help people. Because fixing dead xperia xa is little tricky task which can't be done by beginners it needs some technical knowledge and skills for which I can fix it with very less amount.
Note: This task can't even done by sony service centers they will only tell to replace your motherboard only but I can fix it.

OK, but no black magic in your solution, you used this box:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZQMvd4QJWHU/U-1JDyIuYJI/AAAAAAAAAqY/Mmtip3uj51A/s1600/1.png
It supports our XA and Ultra since v1.0.5.0, you can find it for 130 US$, right?
A beginner can do it, you can find some guide and video on the web on how to use this box.
Anyway thank you for proposing a repair service.

You can't use any box to fix complete dead mobile as it was not detected by them (Except Jtag supported) . I didn't any box for do repair with it. My method is via flash-tool only. I had did some customization in ftf file and also had found correct drivers which make to detect dead xa and xa ulta in flashmode by flashtool so we can flash the ftf file.
I have customized ftf file which make the phone to boot up and enter into both modes flash and fast boot.

Currently I don't have any dead xperia xa phone as already I had fixed mine. If I get any sure will make video and post it here.

Very good! You solution is even better (and free). I hope that we will have a guide to help users with bricked device.
Just a question, if boxes can't detect the device with their "special features" and drivers and if normally we need Jtag, why a "simple" ftf firmware and drivers can works? Can you technically explain me how it works? I'm not saying that's a fake or something like this but I'm curious and it can help if we want to play with critical parts of the device like preloader or bootloader.

Let me get some dead xa so I can make video about fixing it and also about installing correct drivers to get it detected in flashmode by flashtool.

is this process works on sony xa ultra dual f3216 model...my xa ultra wont get fastboot, flashmode, only red light glow when connecting charger

anyone have a bricked device with red led light can try this method:
1) Run flash tool 0.9.23.2 and do flash firmware regular but don't plug phone to computer.
2) wait for a moment until you see "Wait for flashmode" then hold volume down ( - ) and plug phone to computer. Phone should go to flashmode in this step and process flash firmware.
I have tried 2 times on my device. Only red light at led when connect to charger or computer, on flashmode no fastboot mode, but i did unbricked my device use this method.
PS: You have to run flash tool and do flash firmware before plug phone to computer.

well the answer lies within this thread.
how do you brick a phone
well, there are many ways you can brick a phone.1. you install the wrong software
2.you install a 'broken' rom
3. you install a recovery that isnt supported for our phone
4.or you were messing with your bootloader
etc etc... you get the point
how to rescue a bricked x81st: If you have done a soft brick then you can boot into xrecovery and restore your latest backup. easy
2:if restoring doesn'twork or you have a hard brick then you should either launch:SEUS (sony ericsson update service) or pc companion. click update and follow the steps.
3:if none of that works then you will have to send it off to se. if you dont get some kind of phone company to fix it then its as useless as a real brick lol or a replica of a phone.
3:you can use a flashtool to fix it as well. if you open flashtool you usally get a number of options such as unlock bootloader etc. there should be an option where you can restore it. (lol i think)
Cheersi hope it helped. if it did then please do press the thanks button.

Soft Brick is the common brick we get.
Hard Brick is a brick you can only get with messing with the bootloader. There's no complete brick.
Say something about flashtool too.

On the W/X8 and X10 mini/Pro you can get into FLASH MODE by keeping the back button pressed while connecting the TURNED OFF phone by USB.
That being said, you have a NEO which doesn't work that way.
Your phone has "fastboot" - to get there ... turn off the phone, keep the bottom right key pressed and connect the USB cable to the PC.
What you have to do from there on out is either best asked in the RIGHT subforum or through Google research.

Hummm...?
I only replied to benga_mircea's post from today.
Or ... did I miss something? *notsure*
Thank you for your help, but I can't acces flash mode or fastboot mode again, lika I use to, after I connect the batery, push the back button, insert the usb, a few seconds and the "sony ericsson" screen pops up again and stays blocked. I think I've killed my phone
Well, for as long as you see the SONY ERICSSON boot logo - and I'm assuming from the way the X8 works here - the boot loader and kernel are intact; there's just a problem boot-strapping the system ROM (shot system, bad flash).
The real problem is that Fastboot isn't comparable to the Flash Mode of our phones ... it's very different.
In your stead I would try to find out how you can perform a "disaster restore" (like we do with our W/X8 through Flash Mode and Flashtool) by flashing back to stock.
Anyway ... just to repeat it ...
1. You need to TURN OFF your phone and DISCONNECT it from the computer/charger.
2. You insert the USB connector into JUST your phone.
3. You press the bottom/right button (also "Back"?) and keep it pressed while you connect the USB to the computer.
Once the phone connected to the computer as a (wild guess!) "Flash Device" or "Fastboot Device" you need the apropriate tool(s) and Stock ROM image - in case PC Companion refuses to repair your phone.

Thanks! I tried like 50 times, and nothing, the ennoing "sony ericsson" is booting (no sony ericsson logo as usualy, just the writing) I flashed 10 times in the past whith no problem. Now, even when I put it to charge ( wall charge) the phone is turning on showing that stupid "sony ericsson" writting, I cant shut it down from the on\off button. Before killling it, I've instales stock MT15i_4.0.A.2.368_GLOBAL ROM, then I upgraded to MT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42_Global, then rooted with DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su, Installed CWM( wiped cache, updated SE tweaked v8.5 Rom) After the restart, the "se" writting started booting. I've pulled out the batery, and begined flashing it with flash tool(no green led). The flashing started and my little brother accidentaly pulled out the Usb cable; that's the whole story! I've tried like 100 times with wotan, flash tool and FlashTool_0.2.9.1_FOTAUnbrick, no result, even if pc companion tells me "phone conected" and gives me further instructions whith the phone being dead, and the flash tool showing me to connect de device... Thank you for all the help, hope there is a solution. sorry for the long post and my bad english...

Whoa... that's what I call a "security vulnerability".
If the flash process got interrupted because your lil bro pulled the USB cable I'm somewhat certain the NAND is messed up pretty good - no wonder you're stuck at the SE boot logo.
If there's no way by which you can get the device back to normal (read: even the guys over in the Neo sub-board are out of ideas/help) I think your best shot would be to send it in to SE for repair if you still got warranty. SE should have other means to resurrect the device and slap it back into shape.
I'm sorry I can't really help you here with this - the Neo is different from the X8 and also different from the way my tablets work.
Thank's for the advice! My waranty is lost, i've unlocked the bootloader. Only if I could enter in flash mode!

Well, on my Samsung, which has Fastboot, I first enter Fastboot and from there I put the device into download mode for flashing (in theory you can compare "Download mode" to the "Flash mode" - in Flash mode the W/X8 awaits a ROM image to be flashed into the NAND, pretty much the same as "Download mode" works).
Since your Neo isn't completely dead (you just have a shot system due to the flash interruption) you only need to find a way how you can re-write the system.
I lack the time to research how the Neo works, but I think there should be a way to get the device going as you can even "resurrect" a W/X8 where you formatted the system partition (by mistake in CWM, for example). However, that's not as bad as interrupting the USB connection but about the same "ooops" to blank the system.
Flash mode not working, fastboot not workingI Tried a lot of programs (wotan, flash tool, fota unbrick tool, octopus, omnius for se, pc companion, se update. Non of them manages to connect to my phone. If only I could connect for 1 sec. I have a backup of TA, but I can flash it. Thanks anyway!

Hi there raducux,
Well, this was about another situation, but mixing with ROM's cooking I was able to brick it again it was mrsim who help me (mod at china-devices.com, credit where is due). But I will tell you how I did it.
You need to have the adb android drivers installed and flashtool v5.1 or up (the one I used, but some people use the 3.1 version).
Download this ROM from needrom (scatter file compatible with FT).
Link: http://www.needrom.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Y800_UMI_20141104_1907xx-s7yler.zip or
http://www.needrom.com/download/umi-zero/
Extract, and in flashtools select the scatter file inside the directory you extracted. Press flash, and (after pressing flash) connect the phone to the USB port holding the volume down key (so the phone connects in META mode), and the process should begin.
If all works well after flashing the phone should boot the new ROM, its version 3.01 so you have to upgrade it.
If that does not work, tell me a few things... I suppose the phone does not start or appear the 'Zero' logo, but tell me if when you connect it to the computer you ear the normal plugin USB sound?
FlashTools (all versions)
http://helpadude.com/sp-flash-tools/
Universal ADB Driver
http://www.needrom.com/download/universal-adb-driver/
Tell me if it worked, or if you need more help tell me what happened and how the phone responds. lot of people here also that can help. My 1st thing I check when buying a new phone (for many years now), is if it's 'XDA' Supported...
cheers

Hello, I've tried posting my problem elsewhere on xda without response so I'll give it a try in here. My phone shows the sony logo then reboots infinitely after rooting it and I searched everywhere for a solution but all I could do is get this message on flashtool:

06/056/2015 17:56:01 - INFO - For flashtool, Unknown Sources and Debugging must be checked in phone settings
It should be a driver problem but I have already installed adb drivers, specific drivers for e4 from sony website and flashtool, fastboot and jdm drivers from flashtool. I also tried switching usb ports and trying on other computers with the same results, and I'm 100% sure unknown sources and debug mode were checked last time the phone was in working condition.
I tried installing all drivers from flashtool's driver folder as well, still nothing. I dunno if it's relevant but the device is recognized as somc flash device in device manager. I'm using flashtool 0.9.19.0 as I read somewhere it works better for the e4 dual (even if it doesn't for me) and the latest version gives an IO exception error.
Any expert who can help me with the problem?
Edit: Bootloader is unlocked but the problem was the same before unlocking
Is there really no way of fixing my phone? Please help. . .
Anyone?
Can someone enlighten me? Now the battery is dead too... phone won't charge anymore.

hello friend,
I too have the same problem now.
i tried to change the build .prop and ended in bootloop today.
i have a similar message
"16/028/2015 15:28:57 - INFO - Please connect your device into flashmode.
16/029/2015 15:29:08 - INFO - Device disconnected
16/029/2015 15:29:13 - INFO - Bootloader unlock canceled

16/029/2015 15:29:50 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode"
I tried to change the usb debugging settings through adb ,it is not working.

Yes I did that, device not supported, and that was even before I unlocked the bootloader.
I gave up fixing it some days ago, seeing that neither sony nor xda helped, and I can't afford a new one for now. Please let me know if you do manage to fix it, as I will check here from time to time, good luck to you.

As i couldn't fix the device,I gave the phone to the service center.they had fixed it .I will be getting the device on moday. :fingers-crossed:
By the way,i found some interesting fact why unbricking didn't work for our E4.
sony pc companion unbricked my previous device xperia E1,it is a snapdragon device.
I think mediatek devices can't be unbricked by sony pc companion and also flashtool by androxyde.
Xperia C cannot be unbricked by the both as well.it is a mtk 6589 device.
Xperia C has an unbrick method using a tool/software called WMshua perfect flash.
https://www.informationlord.com/ultimate-guide-to-fix-bricked-xperia-c/
I didn't try it because i was scared of hard bricking the device.
I think it might work.
plus for chinease mediatek devices there is another tool called spflashtool.
also learn to use the spflashtool .there is a begineers guide at mtkroms.com
http://www.mtkroms.com/2015/02/how-...howComment=1447795342637#c6494565355265496004
give it a try.
If you have warranty definitely get it repaired by the service center.
or try the above methods if you have no choice.
I hope you will get your device working as soon as possible. :good::good::good::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Good luck.

[F32xx][F31xx][Guide] How to unbrick dead Xperia XA and Ultra

Hi all,
Today I will explain you how to unbrick your dead phone, now that I have a XA Ultra for dev and test I tried to kill it (yes I'm crazy).
until now I didn't searched all ways because my XA was my daily phone and when I asked the community to send or sell me a dead phone, no answers
I tried many ways to brick and unbrick the phone, tried to brick it by not using FSC file, using an old Falshtool, flashing boot.img from an other device (Xperia X and Z5 ) and I always recovered it. In my last try the phone was totally dead, no red light and not detected by my computer but all ended fine :good: I will upload a video soon.
On Mediatek devices, if the preloader is not corrupted you can always recover it. If it doesn't work for you maybe you can use some "special" boxes to connect on the UART serial port and flash the preloader but I didn't find the correct pinout on it and no proofs what will work on XA and Ultra.
Other thing, if someone claim that he found an other way and need your phone (and money), don't trust it until you have some real proofs (some users know what I mean), it's probably a scam to steal your phone.
By following this guide you will void the warranty so do it only if you can't send it to Sony!!
## What we need ?
- Some tools to open the device (a plastic card can be enough)
- The last version of Flashtool
- Flashmode drivers installed (you can install them from Flashtool)
- A firmware downloaded from Xperifirm (inclued in Flashtool)
- One set of sticker glue tape for the backplate like this one:
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.co...4ff8978f9e--waterproof-stickers-glue-tape.jpg
## Step by step guide
1. Follow this video to remove the backplate (thanks to the author): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O5dAljOpR4
2. Unplug the battery connector, pull it from the upper side very slowly or you can damage it.
3. Open Flashtool and load the firmware (remove all TA related partitions), click "flash" and wait until you see the popup to plug the phone.
4. Hold "vol-" and plug the phone, you will see the red light 1 seconde and the green light just after.
5. Release "vol-" button and wait until the end of the flash process.
6. Unplug the phone, plug the battery connector and power on the phone.
7. If it's ok the phone will start and you can put the backplate again (clean the old glue and put the new sticker)
## How to avoid brick
First of all you must understand that flashing something on our devices is always dangerous, official or unofficial things.
Generally our devices goes wrong after updating the firmware, to reduce the risk you have to follow some simple things:
- Don't unlock the bootloader and use OEM tools.
- Always download files from trusted sources.
- When you use Flashtool, always use the last version, download the firmware from the inclued Xperifirm and always use FSC file when asked.
If it worked for you, don't forget to feedback, hit the thank button and why not offer me a coffee

You followed my guide? Have you the green led?
what should i do if i don't get the green led and can't enter flash mode
It stays at the red light..
what else can i do?
If it doesn't work for you I don't know what you can do. Maybe if one day it doesn't work for me too I will try some more experimental things or if I can have a device with the same problem in my hands.
Welcome my dear friend! My phone is also lit red led. How to reflash?
Unfortunately at this time their no way to reflash your phone if you have that red light flash only
If don't have flash mode or fastboot use able their is not a way to recover.

I totally agree with you, and now you can see fake users who post fake feedbacks but until now we have absolutely no proof about this miracle
Its like videos on youtube with title saying 2017 paypal free money hack, which directs you to a survey site and wants you to pay money in order to download a 'paid virus' even though it says free you still pay for a virus. They are too funny man
My phone is G3412 after flash rod 8 my phone is dead not power button execute just connect usb cable red led turn on and screen black please help me for turn on phone thanks?????
hi, my phone is g3221 and its dead boot, I already flash in on box but its said trim area is damaged, do you know how to fix it?
F3213 DEAD
SOMC MTK6755 Virtual Serial PORT Driver shown in device manager .
hey there my xa ultra phone is not even starting like its fully dead what is the solution
I know I'm late but, Those who are having problems with green light not showing up:
1. Hold the Volume Down button
2. Connect USB
3. Keep holding the button for 30 seconds atleast.
When bricked, device doesn't show green light readily. It takes atleast 30 seconds.
Thank you
You're the BOSS! You've saved my Mini ST15i. Thank you! :highfive:

Sharp Z2 brick, no fastboot, black screen, not booting

Hi @xda Team,
couldn't find any threads releted to Sharp Z2, which would match to my issue, so that's why I'm trying it in this forum.
I have Sharp Z2 phone (https://www.gsmarena.com/sharp_z2-8410.php).
I tried to root it and to install/flash TWRP recovery on it. Because of realy less information for this phone it was difficult to find proper files.
So I tried with an official version of TWRP.... didn't worked.... after long time, I found on an chineese forum some instructions for flashing the TWRP through ADB/Fastboot.
Bacause I have successfully used this technology already several times on other phones, I was happy to have finaly found something AND forgot to check the skripts
The result is, that after unsuccessfully flashing the bootloader got blocked trough this script (OEM blocked). Now my phone is not booting. I have no access to FASTBOOT and to RECOVERY mode.
I have found an unbrick instruction for LeEco s3 (based on x620) using the SP Flashtool (I have used it successfully for my other phone LeEco S3).
Following this intruction on my Sharp I'm getting following message:
"BROM ERROR: STATUS_SEC_PL_VFV_FAIL......."
It looks to my, that I have not all permissions to flash the phone.
SO still NOT BOOTING, NO ACCESS to FASTBOOT AND TO RECOVERY MODE.
Also on XDA Forum I found this guide for an ASUS Phone (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/thead-bricked-phone-updating-to-mm-tips-t3452785)
UPDATE:
SP Flashtool is not able to load the preloader file. Always stops with the same error: BROM ERROR: STATUS_SEC_PL_VFV_FAIL......."
In some forums I've read that flashing with wrong preloader can cause my issue and that in this case there is nothing there to save / recover the phone.
I still hope, that because of the Android OS there is still a chae to unbrick it.
Please HELP!!!
Thanks in advance.
mine is in a similar state but i still have access to the fastboot; i can reboot to bootloader or recovery but only to acccess fastboot. there is no recovery tool left on it and attempt to flash twrp - various versions of those have all been failed attempts. handset is still in the brick state with access to fastboot but no use.
please help to get this working again, given the fastboot is working, can i use any other recovery tool except for twrp to maybe get to having OS flashed?

I don't understand why to flashing preloader
TWRP --- Install ROM or SuperSu.zip
firmware under flashtool
Click on the SP Flash Tool "Download" and connect the switched off phone with the Vol "-" key pressed as on the screen, the tick on the Preloader is not worth it! Release the key a few seconds after filling the 100% red bar. Wait for the end of the firmware and the appearance of a green tick. Disconnect the phone from the PC and try to turn it on
