Trying to get cyanogen rom on my MyTouch...

I did every step and when I installed the app installer then using flashrec 1.1.3, after I had installed recovery flasher. Then I hit restore back up image, says flash complete and then I hit restore back up image...flash complete but there's no url at all. Here's where I got my sources...
Then can you download the following files the following files from this page .
* Download the COC10 build of Cupcake from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BLM4EDGE (sappimg.nbh)
* Download the latest version of FlashRec from http://zenthought.org/content/project/flashrec
* Download the HTC Android 1.6 base image:
o http://www.androidspin.com/downloads.php?dir=enomther/ROM/&file=HTC_ADP_1.6_DRC83_rooted_base.zip
* Download the latest CyanogenMod ROM for your device:
o http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/update-cm-4.2.3.1-signed.zip
If someone can please help me out!
*bump* anyone? It's not giving me a default url so I can't get the recovery image. I read all the process on WIKI as well.
What do you mean by a 'URL'?
Here's the correct order of instrcutions:
1) Get Cyanogen's recovery image here
2) Put in on the root of your sdcard, call it 'recovery'
3) Open flash rec and choose the backup option.
4) There should be a box to type the location of the recovery image you want to flash. Type /sdcard/recovery.img
After that's flashed you can then flash the HTC image from recovery, then the Cyanogen Mod ROM.
When I open flashrec app, it won't let me hit download image button right after I hit back up button. The box on the flashrec app comes up empty. My friend was telling me it should say something on there. I'll try it your way.

The box should be empty, inside it you need to type "/sdcard/recovery.img" then hit flash. Use this video as a reference.
I typed it in the box but still nothing. The larger button doesn't say cyanogen. It just says download recovery image.I followed what the video says. Maybe I didn't get the correct files? I'm also using Linda File Manager.
I have the SAPPIMG.nbh file on there. Rebooted my phone and then took the file off.
Then I installed flashrec-1.1.3-20091107-2.apk
Are you sure that's all I need to type?
i'm no wiz, but...
i went to cyans site, clicked the wiki tab, then clicked the MT3G section, and followed it verbatim. i had absolutely ZERO problems. When i tried to do it prior to the wiki i had similar problems. my backup kept failing. try the wiki, hope it helps.
I got it figured out. I was missing the cm-recovery file! Im likin this rom and thank u all

Ok, I will upload an easily step install.
Wait for it
i can't download the files needed... can somebody reupload them? cause i am about to root a gio sunday and i wanna install the recovery... also i was wondering if it can be done to install a2sd without installing a new rom, just by rooting the gio and keeping the normal rom... and if it can be done, how can i do it the best way? and which version is the best on gio?
try this (tested be me)
Installing ClockworkMod Recovery
- To be able to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy Gio, your phone must be rooted first and must be running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread or higher.
- Download the ClockworkMod Recovery update package from here. http://www.mediafire.com/?p7r2bcn9447bpc8
- Copy the ZIP file into the root of your phone’s SD card. Do not place the file inside any subfolder.
- Reboot the phone into recovery mode by holding down the Home/OK (middle) button as you turn on the phone using the Power button. In recovery mode, use the Volume buttons for navigation and the Home/OK button for selecting.
- Select “Update from SD card” from the recovery menu.
- Look for the ClockworkMod Recovery package file from the list that appears.
- Select the ClockworkMod package file to start installing CWM
- Reboot your phone.
Congratulations!

[GUIDE]Fix unknown serial ROOT stock ics w/o binary incr/cfw flash guide !

hi guys this is my first post i'd expect you all to go easy on me if i make any mistakes, but i have tested it on my international s2 and this method works fine ! this will give you root access and allow you to install all sorts tweaks and custom roms without triggering the binary count !! yep that's right !!
WHAT THIS GUIDE IS GOOD FOR :
*Clean install of ICS.
*Gaining root access with custom kernel flash or increase binary count. NO YELLOW TRIANGLE !
*FIX FOR UNKNOWN SERIAL NUMBER.
*Sorta detailed guide for installing cm9 or any other custom rom.
here's what you need :
*odin 1.85 [link attached]
*check fus downloader . [link attached]
*official stock samsung i9100 ics firmware for your country/region[ in my case it was i9100xwlp7_tml_blabla] get it using check fus downloader.
*cwm.zip [attached]
*your kernel of choice that supports both sammy and aosp/aokp [my preferred is siyah 3.3.2 if you need cwm manager ]
*cwm flashable rom/addon zip.
l
*20 minutes at max.
before you proceed here's a how-to to download stock ics firmware using check fus downloader.
launch the application.on the standard tab on the right side select android from the drop down menu.select gt-i9100 from the devices list and finally the region where you live.then on the left side click check firmware. it will take a few moment and finally a download button will appear in the bottom. press it and wait patiently as it finishes downloading.usually takes about 20-25 mins depending on your connection.
once downloading is finished or if you already have it downloaded, read on:
1. boot into download mode to flash stock firmware if you are not running official samsung ics. if you're running stock firmware then skip step 1. this also fixes the cm9 no serial number issue.
2.flash with odin the official firmware.
3.wait for the phone to boot up automatically.set up and connect the phone again to your PC.
4.after getting detected switch phone to mass storage mode.copy the attached cwm.zip to your external SD card. Also copy your desired cfw like cm9 rc1 in my case and gapps if needed.
5.now disconnect and turn your phone off.reboot into default android recovery using vol up+home+power button combo. let go off the power button once you see the Samsung gt i9100 boot logo.
6.once you successfully manage to get into android 3e recovery, select apply update from external storage and flash the cwm.zip.immidietly your phone will reboot into cwm recovery. this will give you temporary recovery access to flash your phone. if you reboot from this step you will loose your cwm and you will have to repeat the step 3-4 to get it back.
7.once into cwm,choose wipe data/factory reset.
8.then wipe cache partition.
9.go to mounts and storage and format system and data and cache. [this is necessary for a fresh cfw install, it will also ensure your cfw will function correctly.]
10.go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache, wipe battery stats to ensure your battery gauge is reading correctly and there are no previous kernel remnants.
10.then press power button to come back to main menu and select install zip from sd card.
11.choose your rom from sd card and wait till it finishes flashing.
12.reboot your phone once done.
if your rom comes with gapps then your flashing process ends here.if not or if you want flash modem or a different kernel then read on.replace gapps mentioned below with your desired package and the rest of the process are the same.
13.set up your rom.
14.press and hold the power button and select recovery from the reboot sub menu.
15.once back into cwm flash gapps/kernel/modem/add on package.
16.once finished go to advanced and select fix permissions. [necessary in case of gapps, other wise not needed]
17.reboot and you're done
Enjoy your newly rooted and flashed phone with no binary increase ! :highfive:
just to make sure there is no binary count increase, turn off your phone.press vol down+power+menu and get into download mode.you will see it reads binary as official samsung.
Hope this guide helps.please follow the steps i mentioned. i will not be held responsible for any damage caused to your phone but i believe there won't be any as I tried and tested it myself on my i9100 after a faulty flashable zip messed my phone up.please press the like button if i could help you.
please leave a comment if you need further help. I will not be attending pms at the moment.thanks !

[Guide] How to port Cwm or CTR recovery for any device

Port recovery to any Device, snapdragon, mediatech doesn't matter
Hi guys...
Once again i am back with an Extreme guide...
Its about porting Recovery if you don't have source or if you like to use your own thing...
Ok lets start......
Do it with your own risk, I am not responsible for anything happens to your mobile, friends, family and etc
Click to collapse
Requirements:
1. Android Kitchen or Android image kitchen (Search on xda or
google)
2.NOTEPAD++ (Search on google)
3. Flash tool (flashify, rashr etc)
4. Cygwin ( if you are using Windows)
5. Recoveries that you want to port, must be from same structured chip set device, and same resulotion
Tips: Search on Google on how to set up android kitchen with cygwin
Step:1
Frist take your stock boot.img, stock recovery.img and
any other recovery like CWM or CTR (Without
TWRP)
Tips: If you don't know how to get a dump of boot.IMG or recovery.IMG, Google is there to help you! You can also use Diskinfo to get partition info, download it from play
Now put them in safe folder and unpack boot.img in a
new folder, then unpack Stock recovery in another
folder and unpack your cwm or CTR recovery in
Another folder.......
All done!!
Tips: search Google how to unpack .IMG with android kitchen or android image kitchen
Click to collapse
Step:2
Now go to your unpacked boot.img and then go to "ramdisk" folder then copy these files and paste it
to your recovery (whitch you want to port)
1.meta_init.modem.rc
2.meta_init.project.rc
3.meta_init.rc
Done! :3
Click to collapse
Step 3:
Now go to your unpacked stock recovery and copy "(#Kernel)" and paste it to your unpacked recovery (Which you want to port). Then again go to unpacked stock recovery>ramdisk and copy these files and paste them in your unpacked recovery>ramdisk (which you want to
port) and replace them all...
1.fstab
2.ueventd.rc
3.ueventd.goldfish.rc.
Done!
Click to collapse
Step 4:
Now go to your stock unpacked CWM or CTR and go to
ramdisk/etc and copy ( recovery.fstab ) and paste
it to you unpacked recovery (which you want to
port) /ramdisk/etc and replace......
Done! Now go to your unpacked recovery (whitch
you want to port) then go to ramdisk and open
default.prop and ask also open the default.prop. compare them, change the values of port recovery according to stock recovery.
All Done!
Click to collapse
Finel step :
Repack the ported cwm, take it to your phone and open any flash tools and flash your new recovery!!
Click to collapse
N.B.--> This method will not work in TWRP porting beacuse porting TWRP is different...
Sometimes your new recovery may not work...if it does not work then try again with new recoveries from different device or redo the whole thing
I hope this post was helpfull and if you
successed to port your new recovery then dont
forget to give me some credits
if you like this post then click on :good: button... It may increase the rate of
giving new guides... :highfive:
Hi, I am trying to do a CWM recovery for Amazon fire phone which is a Snapdragon 800 - unfortunately i cannot find any custom recoveries which have the amazon fire phones resolution of 1280 x 720 can you advise if there is a workaround for this situation?
Hey there, if you are porting cwm, the resolution isn't gonna be a problem. Find same structured device and you would be good to go.
Edit: the fonts will maybe look smaller.
But if you are porting CTR recovery the resolution would be a problem, it will cause you touch problem in recovery
Thanks. One problem right at the first hurdle is in step 2
i do not have these files in my boot ramdisk folder
1.meta_init.modem.rc
2.meta_init.project.rc
3.meta_init.rc
Attached is a screenshot of what i have in mine?!?
Can I get a screenshot of the unpacked recovery ( that you want to port)? I want to compare these files
The screenshot of the unpacked Recovery's ramdisk folder actually
Sure, attached. This is my recovery from my Amazon phone and also the recovery for a nexus 5 which uses the same processor
Init.rc, ueventd.rc, replace these two files
Snapdragon device's boot and recovery structure is different, I thing I have to do the tutorial again with snapdragon details
BTW is there any other version of cwm available for your device? You can take a look inside that recovery for more info. And if your device has source, I recommend that building it from source would be best for you
Hi, I actually just built from source but nothing happens when phone should go into recovery. Just stays on the Amazon screen. I then flash the stock recovery back and it works fine. I'm pretty sure that i compiled it correctly as i got no errors used CM11 as source. (Attached if it helps)
To be honest it was a shot in the dark anyway as the phones bootloader is locked and i was trying with flashify.apk
Have you tried grabbing a logcat after rebooting from recovery?
Thats my next step
And what does the logcat says?
Please help.
I have got an android device with Broadcom Processor with android 4.4.2. I had tried to learn using Ubuntu and tried to build recovery from source. But, it seems a clumsy path and hard to understand. I could not finish syncing repo and retired from my trial a month ago. Can I use this tutorial to port recovery to my device? How can I know which CWM for an android can be ported to mine?
bro this is not working for snapdragon devices. as i am not getting meta files into its recovery not even in the ported one.
I can't understand the which recovery is which, like in Step 3 you said Stock recovery and unpacked recovery (Which you want to port) where i guess stock is the original recovery and unpacked is CWM/CTR.
But on Step 4 you said:
"go to your stock unpacked CWM or CTR and go to
ramdisk/etc and copy ( recovery.fstab ) and paste
it to you unpacked recovery (which you want to
port) /ramdisk/etc and replace."
so stock unpacked CWM is CWM but which one is he unpacked recovery now?
bro i have micromax a108 with mt6582m chipset and i want to port ctr for my device but i am not getting and recovery developed for mt6582m devices
Please write a new guide for Qcom Chipset !
