Dolby Atmos for Xperia X - Sony Xperia X Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi!
I found this thread and testet the flashable Dolby Atmos Stuff, and it works great on my F5121!
You need root and busybox.
Flash the zip from this site and wipe cache.
https://devs-lab.com/install-dolby-atmos-audio-system-in-android.html
Music, Movies and Games will be louder and clearer.

You need to try viperaudio too
its working also great and you dont need to flash something give it a try

Nexus 6P Viper4Android not installing

I've tried to install Viper4Android on my Nexus 6P running PureNexus Project ROM. Installing the apk, changing SELinuxModeChanger to Permissive, installing Busybox. But the drivers just won't install and said that either Busybox is not properly installed or the device isn't rooted properly. Please help me!!!
You should try installing a different version of busybox. Viper4Android doesn't like all of them the same.

V4A
Hi
Install v4a then when it asks you to update drivers do so. Reboot then use a file explorer to go to system/vendor/etc and then rename the audio_effects.conf to audio_effects.conf.bak and save. exit the file explorer and reboot. If you got to V4A now and check drivers they should have updated.

Have you got root checker, is your phone rooted and running TWRP?
Mine is running PN and V4A works like a dream, like you say I had to set permissive settings but didnt install busybox?
I just flashed 2.4.0.1 and changed the file to .bak and was all good?
If you struggle and dont mind flashing roms Benzo has this pre installed. (Although the newest rom this week hasnt go V4A included).
Dont know what else to say?

Hey Tyler, which ROM are you using, and does it have any pre-installed sound mod like AudioFX, etc?
Did you give a try to meefik's busybox? Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox

I'm using PureNexus, and no audio mods came preinstalled.
Any opinions on the new i guess A.R.I.S.E. Viper Mod? I just flashed the june build and i usually use the viper/beats version but this seems pretty intriging. I'm assuming its a different version of some type? I use the basic profile so this gets a bit technical for me lol

I am using the same setup. And using the above listed busybox did the deal for me.
I got the drivers to stick on. I installed a flashable Busybox, and it worked.

I've installed V4A on my phone a week ago, testing about an hour and uninstalled again. Because i love audio wizard sound settings, the sound much better than V4A on my phone (ze552kl).
You must change selinux to permissions if you want to install V4A driver, and if V4A won't work on your device, just uninstall audiowizard and audiowizardservice. made a backup first, of course.

[GUIDE] [VIPER4ANDROID] [Android 8.0.0]

Hi everybody,
I want to show you how to install Viper4android on your phone running developer preview 3 or later with Android O.
IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE!!
First download the zip from Androidfilehost or from below.
Zip
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298967857
Busybox
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=961840155545578665
Extract it to any folder, you will have two files now, a Viper4android App and a flashable Viper4android zip.
Reboot into recovery and install the zip, I also recommend a custom kernel like the Jolla Kernel which already has Android O support for loudness control (for my Nexus 5X).
Boot normally install BusyBox and launch Viper4android.
Select install drivers, grant root permission and wait until it is installed.
If a IO Error occurrs don't worry it'll work anyway.
Reboot and open any file manager.
Delete the Viper4android folder in "/system/priv-app".
Delete "/system/vendor/etc/audio_effects".
Install Viper4android app you downloaded before.
Reboot once again and open Viper4android - driver are working now.
Tested on my Nexus 5X with Android 8 developer preview 3.
Leave a like if it helped.

Hows the exact process you wen through?
I have not implemented yet. Was wondering if anybody else had. Now using SuperSu 2.82-SR5 and TWRP 3.1.1.0. Now that TRWP works now without having to fastboot, I will try this mod. If I get it working I will let you know.
Ah k
I went through the entire procedure including deleting the system app and installing the io fix version.
The app tells me that drivers are working but i there is no difference in sound.
Turing Master power on and off dosen't seam to make any diffrence. What is going on?

I'll post the steps
1. Install magisk
2. Uninstall both Dolby apps using system remover ( since u already installed ).
3.Boot to recovery again , wipe caches and boot to recovery again.
4. Flash this zip.
5 reboot.
I've had the fc issue when I had other audio modifications installed, in case this is the problem, install audio modifications library from magisk then flash Dolby.

Only problem "Root Explorer" stops working.
Thanks for the link.
Sound is louder and clearer (ainur sauron for clarity I feel) ?
Damn. I'll have to let go root explorer. ?
On it's official support thread some people haven't been able to get v4a working with this and audio compatiblity patch. Bootloops and stuff.
Do you use any combination of mods that helps with your music experience?
