Nexus 6p 7.1.1 can't authorize USB debugging - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I enable USB debugging on my phone I don't get the option to authorize my PC.

Make sure your drivers are installed correctly. If you used a toolkit, uninstall them and then reboot. Install them using the Android SDK. If the drivers are installed correctly, click the "Revoke USB Debugging Authorizations" option from developer settings. Toggle USB debugging off and back on, then unplug the phone and plug it back in. Should pop up for you.

tap the USB connected option in the notification shade and then select either internet connection option.
On vzn you have to select internet connection Ethernet when connected to a pc to get usb debugging

Probably the usb drivers wasn't installed yet.. Plug the phone to the computer and proceed to the pc suite installation, it will install the LG drivers.. After that, close the installer.. you won't need the pc suite either..

I am having a problem finding drivers for Nexus 4.
When i connect my Nexus 4 with MTP selected it works fine and i can access the usb storage. But when i enable 'USB Debugging' the device its shows this error "USB Device not recognized"
Cannot use fastboot.
Tried Wug's Toolkit method for driver installation but no luck.

I used Wug's toolkit, had to try a few times until I finally got it right:
Follow the steps in the toolkit to uninstall any adb drivers and remove any instances of the device from the device manager
connect the phone in mtp mode and ptp mode after that, both times with usb debugging OFF, let windows figure those drivers out so you can transfers files without any trouble
disconnect the phone and install the universal drivers (option 1 in the toolkit)
turn off both mtp and ptp, then connect the phone with usb debugging ON. This is what might be causing trouble, if you turn usb debugging on along with mtp, windows thinks it's yet another device, for a total of 5 possibilities (mtp only, ptp only, debugging only, mtp+debugging and ptp+debugging)
follow the instructions in the toolkit to select the proper driver for the nexus 4 with only usb debugging on (I set mine to "google nexus 4 adb interface"). Test the drivers and repeat this step for fastboot in case the proper driver isn't selected already (google nexus 4 bootloader interface)
After doing this I didn't have any trouble using adb or transferring files. The one thing I recommend is to always keep only one mode on at a time while connecting to the pc, either mtp/ptp or USB debugging
I don't know if anyone has a better/more streamlined solution, but this one has worked for me, so I don't intend to mess with it

Computer won't recognize device

I just got the 6P on Amazon, used-like new. It has 6.0.1 with TWRP installed. When I plug in the short USB-C cable into my W10 PC, it doesn't detect anything. So I go enable debugging mode, turn on USB-Debugging and go down to "Select USB Configuration" and it is set to Charging. The problem is that it won't let me select any other modes other than Charging. It does charge when it is plugged in so the cable is working in some aspect. W10 device manager doesn't show any new USB device or unknown devices when plugged in.
So I reboot into Bootloader and Windows still doesn't detect any device. I tried all the other USB ports. So I'm not quite sure how to get this device to connect to the computer or to just get it to factory stock.
And in TWRP, the log shows MTP enabled and Windows still doesn't recognize it.

[Q] Debugging mode on, no usb connection options

so i'm trying to adb to my phone. rooted, unlocked, all that done. just trying to adb in. i have debugging on, phone will charge only. not notifications telling me anything. go to developer options, try to change connecting to mtp, or ptp, select it...and...charging only. i turn off debugging and then plug in usb and all options are there and work flawlessly. i am on ubuntu 16.04...all adb is up date, etc...searched and searched...and nothing for my exact problem. thank for any help. not a noob...just a lost tinkerer.
also with debugging on, lsusb doesn't show nexus. but does with debugging off.
So no one has a clue? I've done lots of searching...Everything from updating SDK, Android.rules, deleting keys (there were none), .Android folder keys, everything possible. ADB works in TWRP. Fastboot works. But still same problem...

Usb debugging blocked by knox?

I've enabled developer options and usb debugging. I can successfully mtp files but no matter how many times I clear and reauth my debugging permissions adb shows the device as unauthorized and easytether wont work either. I've never seen the debugging mode icon come up, only ever mtp. Did these clowns really go to such lenghts to not only lock the bootloader but disable things like debugging period?
