Anyway to make the phone vibrate for calls when in Do Not Disturb mode? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I'd like the phone to still vibrate so I can determine on a case by case basis whether it's worth picking up. Putting my phone on vibrate isn't a solution, because I still want my priority notifications to sound while keeping others silenced... But phone calls, I want to still be able to feel even when I can hear them.
Is that possible? I was using my phone and didn't even realize I was missing a phone call since DND was on...

Has anybody made an app to put custom vibrations on certain contacts?

I am a v10 user so maybe it is different but you can set priorities for favorite contacts only long press do not disturb mode from notification panel.
Press select priorities, set to favorite

Sorry I realize I misread your post.

I think I'm just going to use a macro to schedule my phone to vibrate instead of using DND mode. Guess I'll just reserve for that for when I'm sleeping rather than when I'm sleeping and working. I don't like the idea that I could so easily miss an important call.

Sound on / Vibrate on

Is there anyway to have the sound and vibrate turned on at the same time for incoming phones calls only?

How then? I am new to Andriod.
What i want is sound off / vibrate on and vice versa. When i put my phone in vibrate mode, all notifications should be set to vibrate. Turn the volume back up and vibrate stops and sounds are back. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to figure it out.
Try settings profile in the market.
Another great app is just "profile" by noimjosh, it is a fully configureable profile manager. It also has whitelist functions and the ability to seperate sms mms and notification volumes to different levels. It will also control GPS WIFI, music volume alarm volume .. the list goes on and on. I highly recommen checking it out. well worth it. Hope this helps.

I find that this is good for everything. That's probably why it costs $4. I have this one turn on my wifi when I get within 1/4 mi of my house. I also have it change my wallpaper so when I'm home it displays a hot naked girl and while at work it will display something other than that.

I find this one only good for adjusting sound based on a condition.

Hey Acid, settings profile looks really good. Lots of control, i am wondering if you agree on this though. I am on call sometimes from 330 am and want to keep everything silent except for a call from work. So i basically set up a "silent" profile, then created a rule so if i get a call from a specific work number the profile will change to another profile called "work".which has an audible ringtone of course. Thus i should be able to keep everything silent untill work calls then presto i can hear that call. Sound right to you?

THESE instructions look like they run pretty close to what you're describing. I'm pretty sure you can.
Yep, I should have checked that turorial first, thanks for the suggestion, I might have to make the switch over!
Have a good one
Hey by the way, if you have Juice Defender and Settings Profile running in tandem I've noticed they can conflict on the wifi side of things.
Ahh, noted thanks!

Notification Volume

So on every android phone, in the sound settings for ringtone, you can set it so that your notification and ringtone volume is the same (by checking off a little box). I font see this option on the phone and so when I lower my volume it only lowers it for the ringtone, not emails and texts etc. this is ANNOYING. is they're not a setting for this or is it just me?

It's extremely annoying, and my biggest issue I've had with the phone so far. Followed closely by no notification LED. Hoping to see fixes for both soon.
Okay, here's how.
As usual, Settings > Sound and Display > Notification Ringtone. Now that you have the notification ringtone list open, just press the volume key to adjust.
That's how you manually adjust the notification ringtone, as always. What we're missing is the option always in every other Android OS that allows you to match your notification volume automatically to your ringtone volume, allowing you to adjust everything at once by the hard keys on the outside of the phone. Without that option you bump your ringtone way down, for example to go in a meeting, then one of your notifications goes off full blast.
Okay, I see now. I haven't had an android phone in a month so I'm a bit rusty. Well here's a fix to that then. I can't do anything about it in the settings itself, but go to the market and download "Quick Settings." Open the app and go into volume control. On the top there is a check box for "Use Ringer volume for Notifications." Now it'll work.
That sucks big ones. I'll have to use audio manager till that issue gets fixed. This is why I hate non-stock android phones because manufacturers like htc, motorola, and samsung think they thought of everything but they always end up messing something up

I agree, this is the most annoying thing about the vibrant. (luckily its an easy fix)
Thanks for the suggestion on the "Quick Settings" app
damn, whats up with samsung phones just straight up missing **** that's included in android? I was googling for a way to block calls when I saw that android should be able to take any contact and send their calls straight to voicemail.. NOPE, not on my epic.. now the notification/ringer volume link is missing too?! WTF?
I'm having a serious case of buyer's remorse right now.

Lock screen silence/vibrate

Not sure if this topic would be in this forum or not...but I've noticed quite a few of the roms I've tried (celb2.1, white widow, kaosfroyo) all have a drag to silent phone feature on the lock screen. The only one I noticed that switches it to VIBRATE instead of just plain silent though is kaos....any idea how to change this function in say...celb2.1?
U have to change ur vibrate options in settings sounds
Sent from my FroyoEris using XDA App
I am interested in trying to get the vibrate function working on Aloysius's lockscreen also instead of the sound off, there is no vibrate option in settings sound however, any ideas?
I just use the volume rockers on the side. One tick above silent is vibrate only.
I would be interested to know if you could change the slide to silent to slide to vibrate as well.
All I did to enable the slide for vibrate feature is make sure phone vibrate is checked in your settings under sounds and display
Sent from my Eris using XDA App
That didn't work for me, i checked it but nothing changed w the lockscreen. I don't know if its a different lockscreen.apk or a setting.

Same here.
I think this might be Froyo thing as when I was using Eris Lightning Bolt it would only go to silent mode

Notifications vibrating

Is there a way I can have my notifications only vibrate in silent mode and not while I have ringer volume on? Just like how you can with the ring tone.

So you get no vibe for notifications in silent mode?
Change it in the messaging app.

Ok, maybe I worded my question wrong. As of right now, I have under the messaging settings to vibrate when notified. And in the general sound settings, I have vibrate only when in silent mode. Now, however, my messages still vibrate when not in silent mode along with playing the sound I have set for notifications where as my ring tone only vibrates while in silent mode and ONLY plays the ring tone when not in silent mode. How can I make it so my messages do not vibrate when not in silent mode and only vibrate when in silent mode.
You are going to have to toggle the messaging settings then. There is no one step solution for what you want. There used to be a vibrate option before silent but that is gone right now.

So there is no simple way to have the ringer and notification volume under the same setting so that they both only play the sound when not in silent mode and only vibrate when in silent mode? like a normal phone would?

Not anymore. Samsung thought it would be more versatile to have seperate settings Then they removed the vibe option just before silence and combined them. I believe there are third party apps that allow you to do a bunch of commands but I cannot remember what they are called. But no easy way other without another app.
Yup. Witnessed this earlier. I was sleeping and someone tore me out my zone when they called so I ignored it (on full volume) and they kept calling interrupting me so I held volume down to put it in silent mode so if they call back I can stay in lala land, but I didn't realize it was onvibate and I got another rude awakening. I then stood there continuously pressing vol up and down to get silent mode but it wasn't there (give me a break my cognitive functions suck when I'm torn out of my dreams lol)
I ended up picking up to get them to stop, but I should've been able to shut them up immediately

Yeah remember...it's a smartphone...just not that smart..haha.
I experience exact problem as op and I remember I was able to put the phone on vibrate no matter is a call or a massage with the volume key going all the way down then one notch up but not anymore, what change.

While in call, the only way you can go about doing this is by going to homescreen(press the home button while on call)>settings>change the settings specifically. Or, you can change the phone mode to silent from the notification panel and then revert back.
it's strange that it vibrate in call,it's in all the 6.0.1?

Well yes, if you don't want notifications at all while you are on a call alone, you can change the settings from the phone application. Go to your dialer, then open settings and unselect the notify during calls options.
well i don't find the specific setting in call..where is it exactly at the nexus?

Anyone find a solution to this? Do I really have to use tasker to get this done?
Same issue here... there is no option in settings that I can find to turn it off. Its gone from annoying to infuriating... maybe its fixed in preview 5.... if the stupid OTA would ever get here
Drives me nuts, vibration should be off by default while in a call.
vibrate during call bug fixed
Looks like bug has been fixed and will be available in "future build"
I can't post url yet, google: Issue 220951: 7.0 Nougat vibration during call problem
I'm using a Huawei Mate 8 and have also run into this issue, on Android 7.0.
Using Light Flow (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite&hl=en) will allow you to work around this issue.
For each notification type (within Light Flow) there is an option to toggle "Vibrate in call".
