Mini Step by Step Guide: SM-G935U to S7 Edge T-Mobile (SM-G935T) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

I was reading that the SM-G935U was getting great reviews by people who flashed it, and I was trying to find a guide on how to do this but everyone kept pointing to other threads etc etc. I Did some research and found out exactly the files that you need in order for this to work on the T-mobile version
EDIT: Since I'm new, I can't post links but I modified the link to come out as a non link
WARNING: I take no responsibility to what may happen to your phone, if you brick it, it becomes a shooting laser gun, or becomes a beverage coaster, etc etc, you have been warned and can continue with the guide
EDIT: I take no credit at all for this guide as I just put together pieces of other threads and copy and pasted the information to make it easier to follow, appropriate credit goes to the people that created the guides and posted the links
Before you start, make sure you have the Samsung phone USB drivers installed. If you do not have them installed ODIN will not recognize your phone. Here is a link to the drivers installation package: link #1
Note: The OP had personal success with this version of Odin: link #2
How to install:
Step 1. Put your phone in download mode. You do this by having the phone off and pressing the power button, the home button, and the volume down button at the same time, holding them until the download screen comes up. Sometimes there will be a prompt that says press the home button to continue to download mode. In that case press the home button as well.
Step 2. Flash the 3 files starting with AP, BL, CSC (IMPORTANT: Do not flash the Home_CSC) in this zip link #3 to your phone using Odin, all 3 of them at the same time. Unzip the files into a folder that contains your ODIN installation, or a folder where they are easy to find. Open up ODIN and put the BL file in the BL slot, AP file in the AP slot, and so on. Then flash all 3 at once.
Then, add the CP file on this link : link #4
After all the files are in the corresponding fields go ahead and press START
If something fails retry by putting your phone again in download and troubleshoot make sure everything looks good, if you have any additional problems or questions, post on this thread
EDIT: Add http and www plus the dots to the links to make them work

Nice, thanks for doing that, I've been meaning to make one forever but been busy. Question - Any reason you used the APIA modem rather than one of the newer ones?

the APAI modem is what I found other users to be successful with, so I sticked with it, anyone is welcome to try a newer t-mobile modem if they think it will be better, actually it would be a good test if anyone has the time

I'll test right now with the APK1 modem from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767112511
---------- Post added at 02:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:13 AM ----------
With the APIA modem, I get aobut 0.5mbps down and 1mbps up. With the APK1 modem, 2.5mbps down and 0.5mbps up.

Do u know if it unlock sim card? I am in APK1 it's secure install the firmware?

I read some things where missing when flashing this U firmware such as video calling and other things...anyone have a list of what else is missing. I know the carrier specific bloatware is gone but some folks did not want to upgrade for some key specific things that I can't recall...
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app

The phone still asks for unlock code.
I am going to do it again.
1) Do I have to return to stock before ?
2) Maybe I misread your tutorial, I though it was flash BL, AP and CSC from U then only CP from TMB, isn't it ?
Else, could it be flash BL, AP, CSC then flash BL, AP, CP, CSC ?

Some people (actually only read of one user) that mention he had issues with incoming texts, but the rest of us are fine, video calling "button" is missing but someone confirmed that its working and it will "appear" if you make a call with someone that supports the feature. other than that I have not seen anything that doesn't work so far but its only been 24 hours since I did the migration,
the pros is that this rom gets extremely better battery life and is at least twice as fast as the stock t-mobile rom, I have no complains at all

I was stock when when I did the migration, basically you are going to do the flash in one shot, put all 3 files plus the t-mobile modem file "CP" and make sure you use "CSC" """not home CSC"""" and flash it accordingly, it should boot fine if you have the files in the correct fields

wow for reals? thats a huge difference, Im getting pretty good speed but maybe I should try the APK1 modem, I will flash it again today and take a look

just to be clear, do a full wipe through recovery before doing this right?

I noticed there is no mention if you are rooted or not, if you are:
what about all the performance tweaks from the "after root fixes" thread, are they still required for better performance? This still uses the engboot bootloader ya?

Yes and yes.

I flashed this a few days ago (no issues during flash), but I'm having some issues now. Everything seems to run smoothly, but my battery has now been cut in half (2.5 hours SOT) and I no longer have Wifi Calling. I tried both the modem from the OP as well as the APK1 modem CP file. Any ideas what could be causing these issues?

ext4 FAIL?

OK here is the issue, I have a 900F originally on EE in the UK. I flashed stock UK Rom which worked fine, no issues, however I have to send my phone into Samsung to have the black screen bug repaired so I need to go back to EE Rom, now when I go to flash I get an ext4 partition error, so I need an EE PIT file as they are obviously different.
<ID:0/004> hidden.img.ext4
<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Size)
<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I can flash stock fine, even O2UK fine but EE fails, on all their ROMS from 4.4.2 to 5.0
Anyone?
hello
sorry to blitz in on this post
I’m having the same issue and have done some epic googling and can't find the pit file I need so desperate times and all that..
its all that is standing in the way of me using the new EE UK wifi calling feature
I’m in a bit of a not spot so if anybody has the pit file I’d be really grateful.

I've searched everywhere can't be found, I did find one for the 901F but apparently it won't work. I can get it to boot after that error by flashing a custom recovery Philz Touch but the problem with that is it doesn't flash the CSC code, and its the CSC code that brings the wifi calling feature.

Hmm *wheels turning*
I'm thinking i may be taking this a bit off topic here feel free to stop me and direct me to a thread more suited however i'm guessing this feature will be second in line for you after getting your phone sorted out?
OK i'm starting to get this (i'm an email sysadmin and general linux tinkerer not a mobile developer (Jim))
Can we just change the CSC to make our phones look like EE ones ?
I guess we would have to then change back to install any android updates as if we auto downloaded the EE ones they would screw the phone up.
I've found an article that says you can do this on a rooted phone but its not s5 specific
what do you think?

I managed to change my BTU code to EVR, didn't make any difference. What happens is when it throws up that error about hidden.ext4 etc it doesn't flash that part of the firmware. So you can get the phone to boot using a custom recovery but you are still using the old CSC code with the new software. You can go in and change the code using EFS explorer with root but you still will not get the EVR wifi etc, I think that CSC section contains all the branding and carrier specific items.
What would need to be done would be to somehow extract the CSC from the EVR firmware and flash that separately if it would work. I don't know, this is all beyond me. The easiest way would be for someone with an EE branded phone to extract their PIT file and just flash that.
Right I have found something.

and
http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26433
That looks really promising . I won't get access to a windows box till I'm at work on Monday to try it out though.
I do know that wifi calling needs activation by texting wificalling to 150 did you try that with your frankenee phone?
Yes I am activated and ready to go.
I have managed to open the EVR firmware file and mod it a bit, it is full of EE crap apps etc, The Wifi calling settings are hidden inside the CSC folder which is hidden in cache.img.ext4 So I have all pulled apart now, just not sure how to repack it all again.
I'm going to try the first option you linked tomorrow.
I don't mind the extra apps as I can root and uninstall them after flashing.
I'll feed back if this option works.
Thanks for your help so far.
If you come across a pit let me know
I'll keep looking myself as well.
It sounds like we are getting closer to wifi calling.
I'm having no joy with option 1 (just swapping the hidden image between the two roms then repacking)
its failing before it flashes with a secure boot error
looks like the file needs signing
any ideas?
how are you getting on with your custom rom?
hmm apparenlty there is another option
using a program called total commander to delete the hidden image totally from the tar file
thus things remained signed
you need to rename the file from tar.md5 to .tar before flashing.
i'm downloading the new ee firmware now then i'm going to try that trick and report back

WAHOO! !!!
I'VE ONLY GONE AND FLIPPPING WELL GOT IT WORKING.!
1)download latest ee firmware
2) download a windows program called total commander
3) open ee firmware in total comander and delete the hidden.img
4)rename the .tar.md5 file as .tar
5)flash to phone with odin as normal.
phone will reboot , verify apps and then decide to show the wifi calling option
just had a short conversation with my parents to test it.
happy to write a full guide on this forum however i'm a newb , where do you want it putting?
that should help you get ee firmware on your phone to so you can send it back

I am not exactly sure mate. I think may be notify the mod, while this works for us on EE I am sure this will work for any operator firmware.
OK been playing around with this for a while and notice a few issues. Firstly over all performance is a bit jittery and laggy. Secondly I seem to get constant warnings about the back cover not being tight, another problem is my S View case just doesn't work on it.
Wifi calling is excellent though so its a bit of a trade off I guess. Have you had any issues?

This works to get you back to stock from bootloop. I tried my hand at rooting this little SOB (TWRP,Magisk) and tripped the Knox counter bc I forgot to wipe it. Reboot came up with "Validation Failure" and I was stuck. I stumbled over this post and with nothing to lose other than $130.
First piece of advice...Use Odin 3.12.3 ONLY!! I tried the latest version and it didn't work. Download the files, place them in the appropriate boxes and flash. reboot into recovery, wipe the cache/data and you should be good. Mine took quite a while after hanging on the Boost mobile splash screen, but about 3 reboots later, it brought me to the configuration screen. It's up, running and I even got the OTA software update, but then again, it is stock.

[Guide] How to Convert BACK to 100% Stock T-Mobile from 950U1 Firmware

Hi everyone,
If you've clicked on this thread you are probably just like me. You have a T-Mobile Galaxy S8 (950U) and wanted to try the unbranded/unlocked firmware. Maybe you thought it would SIM unlock your phone (Nope) or maybe you thought you'd like it but just don't. I was unable to find anyone who successfully reverted back to fully stock T-Mobile. My phone stayed XAA/XAA/TMB no matter what I did. Well, now I'm TMB/TMB/TMB and here to hopefully help you do the same.
I mostly followed this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/switch-to-carrier-firmware-100-t3609487. Here's the instructions:
1. Download Factory Binary, EngBoot, and the G950W firmware.

Great work, bro
This was all mine. I did all of this. Why does nobody say anything about me doing it. It is in the EngBoot + Root thread. I mean really, thank the people that actually DO the work.

Agreed, I used your guide to help me get back to TMo version. You will find variation of your work here and there. But I agreed that OP should be credited.

Happy to give you credit man. I spent days asking on four or five threads if anyone had converted their T-Mobile S8 back to 100% stock. I found no one. One guy mentioned he got his Verizon S8 back to stock.
I found the carrier switch thread ...which gave great instructions, but didn't tell you anything about where to get these files. So I searched around to get the files and spent a good two hours trying and failing until it worked. I figured a thread with not only the instructions, but also all the files you need...would be helpful.
I'm on XDA a few times a year when a new phone comes out. I could literally care less about "credit." However, I can tell you do...and I am thankful for your instructions. I would honestly have no problem with me deleting this thread, having you copy the text, and then you can post the same thing again only with your name as the thread maker. Let me know.

Can you copy the instructions (and the files I gathered in this thread) and make your own post? I will delete this if you do. Because it does no one any good to have the comments on here being about people wanting credit. Why don't you just re-post this under your username?
All I care about is helping people.

4. open Odin v3.12.7

Where would I check if I'm TMB/TMB/TMB? I went from XAA firmware back to stock TMB firmware using official Odin 3.12.7 and all seems fine. I don't see any issues at all but I do wanna confirm everything is good to go.

If you follow all the steps to change the CSC to TMB, then at the very end flash the unlocked G950U1 firmware, does the phone still identify as TMobile? And would you be able to get the TMobile updates (like the 6/7 update)?

Nope, the systems are different. The updates are also different. The G950U1 ones come from samsung the others come from TMobile.

Gotcha. Thanks for your replies. Main reason I'm worried about staying on the unlocked firmware is Samsung's horrible reputation for updates last time around. I'm afraid we won't get the updates on this firmware until 6 months after the carrier versions.
Can I use this ROM and instructions to switch from Verizon S8 to Tmobile S8 Rom?

Help
When I try to flash the home_csc in the CSC spot odin then click 'start' odin says Fail!SHA256 is invalid.
I thought if we just flashed 950u1 firmware we could just flash straight back to the tmobile stock firmware in the same method.
So this whole thread is about 950U1, which is the S8, what about S8+? I have a T-Mobile S8+, flashed the unlocked version firmware, wanted to go back, but this instruction only deals with 950U1, what about 955U1?
Ok, i can say if you just flashed the 950u1 or 955u1 firmware with modified odin. All you have to do is flash the tmobile firmware with official odin and then do a data reset from the bootloader menu.
I was able to go right back to official tmobile firmware and get OTA updates.

Unlock USA G955U

Hey guy's an girl, I just realized there's a daily limit on how much times file can be download from DropBox. I would have to check out android file host an see how it works.
DropBox work's great on Downloading file but not ?Uploaded.
Hi all. This is the UNLOCK version of G955U (G955U1).
To flash the firmware of G955U1, you'll need to used the modified Odin. I'll share a link for your guy's, flash normally as you would with the S7 Edge. Once you load the file in Odin, will take some seconds before ready to flash. I already flash it on my 2 G955U TMO S8+, everything runs great . Also I flash the AQEF baseband from TMO version, it have more band for better signal and work's better with the U firmware. I have tested cross firmware an modems for a few months now on my S7 Edge and now my Tmo S8+. Everything work's great, you just have to keep doing manual update of your firmware, it wouldn't say you have an update. Other than that, it works flawlessly.
Happy flashing
This are the link for FIRMWARE, PICTURE AND VIDEO PROOF. Tmo_S8+

Can you show us how you flash it on odin with the t-mobile base?
Ok I'll have to make a video, its very simple. Once you done it before on the S7 series, its the same process.

Make sure you download and extract the 955U1 firmware an Modified Odin. Create an S8+ folder on your computer, best way to locate your files, Next run Odin, do BL FILE, then CSC HOME FILE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ERASE EVERYTHING IN PHONE STORAGE, THEN CP OR MODEM FILE, LAST BUT LEASE AP FILE, which Take the LONGEST TO LOAD, 1 minute tops depends on your computer processor speed. Next step, turn on USB DEBUGGING, access from DEVELOPER OPTIONS. TURN OFF PHONE, NEXT PRESS VOLUME DOWN, BIXBY AND POWER BUTTON AT ONCE. USED VOLUME TO NAVIGATE UP OR DOWN. NEXT PUT PHONE IN DOWNLOAD MOD, NOW YOU READY. NEXT CONNECT PHONE TO COMPUTER USING ORIGINAL USB-Type C. When you READY EVERYTHING, JUST CLICK RUN ON (ODIN), WILL TAKE UP TO 1 MINUTE OR SO BEFORE YOU SEE THE STATUS BAR SHOW PROGRESS. JUST RELAX NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

Thought I had it in the folder too, it wasn't there. You can get the FULL FIRMWARE FROM (ANDROID FILE HOST). Type in android file host search bar, G955U. You will see all the latest firmware for ALL US CARRIER. download and extract what you need, you'll be good to go after.

Depends on what you want. My S8+ is USING THE G955U1 FIRMWARE, I USED THE G955U1 (AQE3 BL), THE G955U1 (AQE3 AP), THE G955U1 (AQE3 CSC), THEN I USED THE (G955U CP). The reason I USED T-MOBILE BASEBAND IS BETTER NETWORK SIGNAL STRENGTH. ALWAYS USED THE CARRIER ( CP ) TO THE SIM CARD, Your PHONE WILL HAVE HIGHER DOWNLOAD SPEEDS.
Would I still be able to revert back to stock T-Mobile firmware?
Is this thread dead? Did anyone try this? There was a promise of a video on how to do this and yet nothing was posted. This is sounding more and more like a fake.

I agree
Isn't this the same as the XAA unlocked firmware as in the guides, discussion,...forum?
Hey all. You can still switch back to stock T-Mobile, just follow the same process, I tried it too.
There's a video, at the bottom of the thread you see a link from my DROP BOX FOLDER. I did everything from my T-Mobile S7 Edge running the lastet U firmware 4BQE2.
Yeah It's SAME AS THE XAA, the U FIRMWARE IT SELF IS 1 SINGLE SYSTEM, it just configures to each CARRIER SIM CARD.
Base on my TEST FOR US CARRIERS, T-MOBILE WORK'S THE BEST WITH EXCEPTION, (VIDEO CALLS). Other than that, I personally LOVES THE U FIRMWARE 100%.
Sorry I took so long to post the video, was busy with a construction project.

Need help unbricking my Galaxy S7 edge SM-G935P phone

I flashed the firmware from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/how-to/6-8-t-mobile-935u-firmware-qe2-t3619151 along with the Tmobile radio via Odin 3.13.1, it failed in Odin and now the phone is stuck on the samsung logo. I used the BL and the AP from the zip, the CP I used from the separate tmobile download link. For the CSC I first tried the CSC that is in the package and when that failed I tried the HOME CSC even that failed. the User data I kept blank both times.. Then I tried it a third time same as above except in the CSC I put the CSC file from the zip and in Userdata I put the Home CSC file, it failed again. Am i doing something wrong ?
Update: I have been trying to flash the stock firmware from samobile, but I am unable to do even that. It keeps failing. I downloaded the firmware from here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...S5BRA1/206887/, extracted it, added just the AP and as per instructions went in to download mode, clicked on start and it keeps failing. In Options only auto reboot and f reset is clicked.
I would really appreciate any help to unbrick this device, it is stuck on an exclamation mark saying " An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software". Smartswitch is not recognizing this device saying it's an unsupported device so emergency restore software wont work from there. I can get it into download mode but as I said flashing the firmware via Odin is not working. I can also get it into recovery mode but it keeps endlessly trying to update, fail and loop back to trying to update.
Thanks in advance.
Firstly I would check your use cable, I have a bunch and not all of them work. Secondly, make sure that your phone is being recognized on PC, hence the cable check. and third, make sure you are flashing the correct firmware. You said TMB, but I see you are flashing 3 different company files. Hi back to full G935P firmware , you front need to flash TMB on t, it should be fine cause I have a g935p with TMB sim in it
Anything else I'll be glad to help

just checking... are you using the edited princecomsy odin? http://d-h.st/gsDA or use the link here https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/help/princes-odin-t3545104
find the correct rom here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-s7-edge/how-to/odin-stock-nougat-firmware-s7-edge-t3569834
just use files from one rom at a time. get good at that first. maybe you are careful but it really looks like you were guessing what goes where at the end of your post.

Im actually on the G935U rom from jrkruse. If you are on the latest firmware just skip the flashing of the stock U firmware. Just flash eng boot, root it, and follow his process in his t-mobile thread for flashing in flashfire. When aroma starts it asks you what kernel to flash just choose tmobile and it works instantly. But fo APN settings whatbi had was this:
Name
T-Mobile US LTE
Apn
fast.t-mobile.com
Mmsc
http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Apn Type

I managed to flash back the Sprint firmware. I feel the problem is Sprint is probably the only one with an upgraded baseband due to their last update. Both the TMO and U firmwares are based on the 4 baseband G930TUVS4BRA1 and the last Sprint update put it on a 5 baseband G935PVPS5BRA1. That is what is causing for it to fail, I feel. Do you think if I follow the eng.boot method I should be able to overcome the problem ?

Okay the problem you are having is that you are actually on bootloader 5 not baseband 5. So that number represents the bootloader and there is no way of downgrading as of yet. Samsung does this thing with fuses on the phone being blown as the bootloader upgrades, well as far as i know from the s8&s8+. So your problem you are having is that you are trying to flash a previous bootloader which isn't going to happen. Flashing the QK5 or the BRA1 firmware will work. Cause it's on bootloader 5. I'd you do what I said a couple posts ago you'll be fine I'm still running the U series tom with tmo kernel installed and I have actually had 0 issues so far. It's been completely solid and everything works, data, sms, Wi-Fi calling, etc...... it works after flashing and boot. With the Sprint tom I got headache after headache and the activating thing is annoying. Just do what I said and you'll see a that what jrkruse then did is probably going to be the only best thing the Sprint variant gets. Try it

Don't mind all the instructions there .
1. Download the flashfire zip file and place it in your phone.
2. Download the Ufirm_multi_carrier.zip and unzip it and place the AP or TaR on your phone(the file that's inside the zip)
3. Make sure to use the eng boot and the root provided in this thread and root your phone.(root is a pain but it's worth doing for this room.)
(Note, if you have flashfire stuck on enumerating partitions you can try rebooting or Google flashfire latest app or flashfire 0.73 app and download and install it)
4. In flashfire allow root permissions and select zip and choose flashfire flashable.zip and select mount system read/write,
5. In flashfire select firmware and select the AP or TaR that you downloaded and it should have all partitions checked. Leave it and press the check mark.
6. Make sure that SuperSU is not injected. MNow click on wipe and select dalvik/cache format cache .
7. The order should be firmware then zip then wipe in flashfire.
8. Click the flash tab at bottom in flashfire.
9. In aroma, select the wipe SuperSU image, I think it's selection 2, and the rest of it is entirely up to you for what carrier you are on and so forth.
There is no need to download the Ufirmware stock for Odin because it won't stick because if the new software you have on your phone. Please make sure you know what you are doing to apply these things. These instructions worked for me and if you choose to do otherwise that's on you. I claim no responsibility for bricked devices or what you create . Flashing is a risk that we all take and it's entirely up to you.
Any more questions I'll be glad to answer. Trying to get the oreo working but having issues.

Did you get it sorted out? Hopefully you are on the rom and haven't bricked your device. I attached a picture so you could see that I am on what I say I am on.

First up, thanks a lot for your help. After a lot of tries I managed to root the phone or so I thought and that's what the phone said after I ran the root.bat file on the computer and the phone rebooted. I downloaded the flashfire app but when I turned it on it says "root access could not be acquired, are you rooted ?".
After I ran the root.bat file and the phone rebooted the phone clearly said it was rooted. How do I go ahead now ?

Get the root from the thread in the link I provided .
In the file there should be something OS something flash the bat file in there it kills all Sprint stuff. Then do the root.batch file and don't worry when it removes all the SuperSU, flashfire, and so on, it's normal okay do on to the painful part......
In the command screen or terminal, it'll say to press a button when your phone has registered on the PC., this is probably where you are messing up. Watch your computer screen until the s7 pips up and watch your phone when it says Allow, MAKE SURE YOU TAP ALLOW! wait for your phone to click off on the PC and then click back on( it takes a while) then press whatever button you like and watch the terminal, if it has errors then it's not rooted if it is rooted then the terminal will close and your phone will reboot. Then proceed to flashfire and do it's thing. For good measure when your phone is booted open SuperSU app first and you'll know if your rooted. Let me know if you need more help
thats pretty interesting being on the binary 5 baseband and binary 4 rom. to clarify, you were on the binary 5 rom and reverted? or were you on the baseband 4 and upgraded just the baseband? thanks for the info.

I odined the AP_Nougat_S7_Edge_EngBoot.tar.md5 then ran the root.bat file from Nougat_S7_Root_2_82_All_Carriers_V2 , I chose the options to install the fingerprint fix and install the root without any gpu tweaks. I watched the whole process complete and the cmd prompt close, my phone never asked my permission to ALLOW anything, everything was on the computer. I ran the root.bat from cmd as an administrator and the program ran evidently because it asked me about the fingerprint fix and root with or without tweaks etc. I noticed the phone reboot and there was a notification, the phone was rooted but no SU and flashwire says no root access. I tried it back from square one a couple of tries more right back from flashing stock sprint firmware and trying the whole rooting process again, same results except the next two times the phone doesn't reboot after running the root.bat file. I notice now when the phone boots up there is a sign saying "CUSTOM" beneath the samsung logo on the screen. I don't know where I am going wrong in the process though. I don't know if it is because I am on the binary 5 however I also read somewhere that people have been successful in rooting their binary 5 sprint S7 edges. I have rooted many devices before and installed roms etc, this has been, by far, the most perplexing phone in every which way.
Fownt know what to say, but, you are saying that you are on binary 5 and have successfully downgraded bootloader's by flashing stock vzw firmware which is on binary 4? I don't think downgrading is possible yet?? The way I explained it to you is exactly how I did mine numerous times. I can no longer assist you though because, I kinda bricked my s7edge,
Here's something for everyone to note on a DONT DO!!!!
Do not flash the latest ENG_BOOT AND COMBO FIRMWARE.
I think it was the binary 5 QK1 eng boot and combo I forget, but after flashing back to stock firmware you will get a SBL ERROR in upload mode and let me tell you....... It is not fun at all. I had all the files necessary for unbricking, the complete restore files, I tried the z3x box, I tried octoplus, and I tried the uni-android tools and nothing flashes it over. It's insane. But I ended up sort of destroying the body of the phone but not the internal, so I now have a skeleton phone and no screen or mid frame.
So I wish you luck and probably a final goodbye to Samsung and their insaniy with phones.

Bummer about your phone. On a glad note I managed to root and flash my phone and everything works great now. I was taking the hard nerdy way to do it by running cmd as an administrator and having that run the root.bat file. I read somewhere else you could just double click the file and it worked for me . From there on the aroma part was pretty straightforward. I am grateful to you for pointing me in this direction and breaking it down for me, I seriously doubted me being able to achieve this on my binary 5 phone but it turned out to be smooth.
I do wish you the best and thanks once again.
