eh.... We get the LTE aws band that all the others don't get. Also, its supposed to double our 4g/lte or whatever Verizon is calling it speeds.
I'd use the feature if it were there, but its not much of use in my region. The few valleys we have kill reception from the north and the south. Anyways anything worth listening to are on AM or HD Radio (WLW/Reds Baseball and any jazz station in the region.) Now that would be a flagship phone!
@thals1992 Not a deal breaker for me. Just found it hard to believe the 928 doesn't have the hardware to support it.
Well, someone probably has a disassembly video of it, it wouldn't be terribly difficult to find out if they used a decent camera.

[Q] Is the S5 physically capable of receiving FM radio?

Does the snapdragon quad-core version of the S5(SM - G900i) actually have the hardware inside it to be capable of receiving FM radio, rooted or not?
That's one thing i think Samsung made a huge mistake with, not including an FM radio, don't know about other countries but here in Australia FM radio is still hugely popular, i was quite pissed when i looked and didn't find one when i powered mine up for the first time. We don't have unlimited mobile data in aus so all this streaming BS is too costly.
Thanks for any help.
I still think an FM reciever is more pratical use than a heart rate sensor. But I dont mind because most people dont listen to FM radio anymore (the last fone I own that has FM radio is HTC Evo 3D)
The answer is no. There is no FM reciever built into the Galaxy S5 or most of new phone nowadays.
All you can do is listen to in through online broadcast.

FM RADIO INDIA ALL STATIONS

Google play app, reliable and doesnt need earphones to be plugged in... excellent buffering in the device, more stations than can possibly be expected.Even without using headphones (Wi-Fi recommended over data plans)
I believe only the Sprint Galaxy S5 (G900P) has the FM radio buiilt in.

Flash H512 radio to H511?

I have a north American nexus 6P (H511) which I later found out is missing band 20 which is the band my carrier uses (Vodafone) for LTE as a result I have no LTE/4G coverage with 6P. I also found out that the rest of the world version (H512) has band 20 and band 1 support unlike my version.
I was wondering if it would be possible to flash the radio from the H512 to my H511 and get band 1 and 20 support or wouldn't it work due to missing hardware?
Can anyone tell me if that is possible?

Why cant I install nextradio on my s7 edge?

Hi!
I want to listen radio from s7 edge with out internet connection using headphone cable as radio antenna. I heard nextradio can do that.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8qG2sWX3OE
And here it lists s7 edge as supported device http://nextradioapp.com/supported-d...c=168693438.1.1493546069131&__hsfp=1591936024
But when I go to google play app it says my device is in compatible. When I manually download apk it installs but does not work. I have tried few other apps but they also dont work. One wanted root access (not sure why, I guess it wanted to load some drivers?) but it also didnt work even after I granted it access.
I have android 7 installed on my device.
Any advise how to get FM radio work on my device? And why it seems to work for others and not for me?
Which variant if S7 do you have? Snapdragon or Exynos?
FM radio only support on Snapdragon variant.

Exynos., I am from europe. But why? Is it some hardware/kernel/configuration issue or is there some missing chip? Since it uses headphone cable as antenna, shouldnt it be device independent?

Missing hardware. On snapdragon, fm chip is baked into the chipset. So any phone with snapdragon chipset will have fm radio built in (but might be disabled depend on OEM).
Exynos chipset however, don't have this chip built in.
Also headphone cable is more like an extension of the antenna, I guess since I have seen hack on other phone where headphone isn't need to be plugged in (the signal is bad though). Also having an antenna but no chip to pull and process data mean nothing.

LeEco Le Pro3 X728

Hi,
yesterday I got my new 4GB/64GB Pro3.
Surprisingly it's branded Lex728 instead of Lex720.
Does anybody know the difference?
More important: Is it SW compatible (Rom/TWRP) to X720?
EUI seems newish: 5.9.020S
Greetings

Hi mike. I think its compatible. Look at the rom of tora at leeco.ru forums. Its compatible with the x720,x727 and x728. I bought one of this but it didnt arrive. I think one more week to arrive.

I'm interested in the differences between x720 and x728 though. I can't find relevant informations anywhere...
Is the same as x720 but not Lte Band 20
LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/29/30/38
Hi,
that would be really bad!
Any chance to switch band20 on using a (Qualcom) tool?
I had a qick look using CPU-X and found no differences to X720 so far.

Looking with Network Signal Guru from Playstore. You can see had Band 20 or not.But you must be a rooted Phone
No B20, that sucks. And for the same price as a x720 I imagine...
Hi,
today I tried with a LTE-enabled SIM,
and network signal guru showed the use of Band20 ?!?
If it can use Band20, whats the real difference to Lex720 then?

I have this phone since yesterday.
The real bands of the phone are LTE 1, 3, 7.
I flashed other roms like Grossoshop, Tora, Turbo and in the signal guru app appear all the bands, like 4, 20, etc.
The problem is im in a country with band 4 and the phone never worked with LTE. Only 3G.
I think this phone didnt have the hardware for work in LTE 4, 20, etc.
If you will buy a lepro3 buy x727, x720 or x722. Never x728
It could be modem matter. Maybe changing the modem (it's a software driver) with one that will enable band 4 (from Lex 720 or 727) you might solve the problem. Try asking an experienced developer, I think it can help you easily!

I tried that. With x727 modem--- no simcard detected.
With x720 modem---simcard detected but only 3G.
I think its more that a hardware limitation.
So does it have band 20 or not...
It is currently sold on banggood (x728 version) and they say it has band20 and all the bands x720 has. Does ROMs for x720 work on x728 ?
Roms for Lex 720 are working for Lex 727 and 728 (same hardware). If something related to specific model is not working as you expected (2 sim support or band/modem related) is to see case by case and (perhaps) there is a solution searching in this forum. Cheeers!

I do not know friend, maybe your unit came defective, mine is x728 I put the official rom 26s and raises the 4g without problems, probe with personal and Claro and any issues.
Hello, a family member just received the Le Pro 3 model x728, I wanted to know how to put recovery and unlock the bootloader, and if the ROMs for the x720 serve in this model, thank you.
