Is it possible to port Color OS 3.0 from Oppo F1 Plus? - UMi Super Questions & Answers

HI there.
This question is for the developers out there. The Oppo F1 plus have the same processor (MTK P10) than Umi Super. Is it possible to port the ROM for Super? I have no experience in this matter but I would like to have the Color OS in this phone...
Thanks

Of curse it is, but need a developer to have time and motivation to do this.

I´ll have a look on that in the next days. Good idea.

Sorry to find dismal dev support for our beloved a9pro.
Yeap, shame for such device...
Just got mine with API2, but can not update to official AQB2...
Will have to do a clean install of AQB2
Mi MAX
Coming from Mi Max prime, i think the former was much more bang for bucks. True that unlocking is a pain, but great dev support. First time a samsung phone has had no dev support for me . Wasted money.

Thnak you so much.
I think, we (all the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro users) will be very happy, if you would make this one for us. Actually we all are anxiously waiting for the development of our beloved A9 Pro for long time. But sorry to say that we got almost nothing for our device. It`s really a very good device.I`m using this one for long time with rooted and TWRP.
BTW, you may try to port Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro (though there is more ram and external storage and AOD feature, which is I think a kernel related thing).
But both are Dual Sim, and SD processor (652 and 653), Resolution (1080 X 1920 and PPI - 367), Android Version (Android MM), and almost same hardware. Though I don`t have enough knowledge about porting. I just want to share my thoughts with you.
Thanks and best wishes.

ROM based on Android Go

Hi
I saw that Android GO is launching. It is a light version of android, that was made to run smooth on lov-end smartphones. It is possible to create ROMS based on it?
I think in case of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro it will not increase performace becase it is a good device, but I think using android Go on device like that should improve battery life. How about that?

samsung rom for redmi note 7?

It might sound stupid but i was a samsung s6 user. I use to run samsung own experience (oreo based) rom and i recently switched to redmi note 7. I miss my old phone interface/ ui. So i am just wondering if it is possible to port any samsung rom (one ui preferebly) for redmi note 7???
Well, it most likely is possible, but no one wants to spend A LOT of time to port such ROM just for a few people to use. The best way to go about this is to find a Samsung-like theme in the MIUI themes store
I don' t think anyone will try to port a samsung rom to Redmi note 7.I had a J5 2016 before this phone and was a great phone but redmi is better and more uptodate with better chipset and miui ui is just as good as samsungs ui or better in my opinion. Is best to leave the samsung behind you as this rom has great developers here with some great aosp roms. And of course miui are great with rom updates probably faster than just about any other phone maker.

Community development strength

You're a power user. Can the Redmi Note 8 Pro keep up? Rate this thread to express how "healthy" the development scene is for the Redmi Note 8 Pro. A higher rating indicates available root methods, kernels, and custom ROMs.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Yes 8 pro can keep up with every day of use, bring it on.
I was about to buy this phone, giving Mediatek a chance... But then the bricks started happening, and ROMs are not showing up yet. Why Mediatek can't keep up still? I just can't understand. It's a shame, but I won't be buying this phone.
I have RN8 pro and i am happy with it! Mediatek is fast and stable, I am still giving chance.
- Brick problem is with Android 10 and I think it will get better with official Xiaomi update.
- Gcam is working, it needs just more configuration.
- GPS and WIFI are great, battery too.
Looking forward seeing more ROMs and development.
The redmi note 8 pro can do more than keep up it's a great device. source code has been released and phones have been sent out to devs and TWRP custom recovery is working good as well as root. xiaomi is pushing the mediatek SOC with them knowing there will be development for there chips. I'm very impressed by this phone in every way it's performance, daily useage, stability, battery performance, screen is great for ips lcd, gorrila glass 5 front & rear and the camera has blown every phone iv'e owned out of the water. The conventional SD chip has development across the board so sit back and watch the development happen.
I've have the phone for three weeks now. Seems to be a good phone. My privacy interest prevents me from using the phone until a custom ROM is available (I personally wouldn't use Google services and miui services). I unlocked the bootloader (waiting time was 168 hours) and now I'm going to wait for a custom ROM and that's fine.
But I did a few tests with the camera and the camera is really fast and the quality is great.
ADB/Fastboot tools debloat
Don´t wait just use "ADB/Fastboot tools debloat" to remove or freeze the apps
I did that to be aware of my privacy like you
i think no...redmi note 8 pro will be bricked and need authorized account to flash...this hard for development when its bricked
I think Xiaomi.eu official statement say IT clearly. No support and avoid MTK chips for future.

Nah. I wanna use a custom ROM and afwall, xprivacylua, etc. But thanks.
Do we have any news about development and new ROMs coming?
No one knows. And that's the problem. There is NO reliable way to get updates about this phone. None of the so called developers have a work in progress thread where they share development. So people tend to speculate.
Just bought a Note 8 Pro...i'm hoping that some developers love this phone too

Yes there is big movement.
Share this article, make post on Twitter to @XiaoMi and contact YouTobers. We are waiting for response of Xiaomi now.
I really wanted to buy this phone. Cheap with awesome specs but custom ROMs and kernels are a must. I hope this brick issue gets solved quick.

It's Great phone! There is no better for the same price.
We have to fight, pushing Xiaomi to work harder.
Yes! I still have hope for this device even after it did brick once. Keep pushing forward and they will surely listen to our demand.

Sadly, some people doesn't have that much time or patience for such. :/
Happy to contribute to crowdfunding for development of Lineage OS and other Android distros on the Pro. Looks like a great phone with a lot of potential for the price!

I don't see why it wouldn't. Xiaomi's snapdragon models seem to always have development since it's easy to unlock the bootloader. For development to thrive though, we have to wait till the kernel sources are released, which is about 2 months after release on average.

ok sir thank you
I hope so. Good thing is that it looks like the Redmi Note 9 4G and the Redmi Note 9 Power share the same specs, except they add a new Ultrawide camera.

Looks like you're right. They just released the kernel sources and the Redmi Note 9 4G and Poco M3 share the same code. https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/lime-q-oss
Looks like twrp may come sooner than I thought
has anyone unlocked bootloader? I am waiting for some NewYear price falls.
Anyone thought of flashing GSI/treble AOSP images for pure android?

I had unlock the bootloader and installed EU rom with magisk... I will install AOSP in futur but now it's too early.
Just got the phone, definitely feels slower than it needs to be based on the specs. I am really hoping we see a custom recovery and ROMs soon to see this phone fly. I was checking and the X3 NFC got those 2 relatively quickly post release.

No miracles, no custom rom is going to make the phone fly.
For its price it is a very good phone.

I disagree with your assertion. Even Redmi note 5 pro from three years ago, performs very well without lag on AOSP ROMs. And we all know that SD 662 on the POCO M3 is faster and better than SD 636 on RN5 Pro. So i believe that POCO M3 will perform greatly on AOSP based ROMs.

The miui roms of that time were loaded with bloadware and not very optimized, so any "clean" rom made an appreciable difference in performance.
Today it is not like that, the current miui roms are quite clean and highly optimized (and can be easily cleaned of the bloadware they carry).
There is not much difference apart from the security issues with the other cleaner android roms.

Yeah, sure...
I have a Redmi Note 7, with the SD660, that phone runs much much much faster, even with slower memory. The Poco M3 can go faster.

Can you link me to some guide as to how to remove that Junk and stop/uninstall apps? This reviewer seems to think you cannot and maybe you could help him too!
You will find all in any of the Miui forum, even in Xda.
