Opinions about leeco - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, im looking for opinions about leeco and their smartphones, maybe some owners of previous devices? Long story short, i currently own nexus 6p, its a fricking awesome device, but i kinda grew bored of it, and battery life is not that great. I dont want to spend extra money on new toy, but by selling 6p i should get atleast 300euros, and for this money i have few options. Its either le pro 3, mi 5s plus, or 100euros extra for mi note 2. I pretty much know what to expect from xiaomi, but im completely clueless about leeco. Is there any development? I looked around forums of older devices, and they seem pretty dead I dont expect same level of development as nexus, but having few options, like miui or cm would be great, cause im already sure i couldnt stand stock rom lol. Also what about customer support? So any input is welcome, also any recommendations of above devices, thank you and sorry for long ass post lol

Currently, the bootloader of the US version of the Pro3 cannot be unlocked. There is a lot of negative comments about that on the forum. [http://forum.le.com/us/index.php?threads/unlock-bootloader.3682/
There is a positive first impressions post on the LeEco Pro3 XDA site. I'm conflicted - getting my phone tomorrow.

I have Le 1 PRO, to be honest it is a gamble. The devices are good but the support is terrible. If someone is not porting AOSP/CM to these devices they will have a very short life.
Le 1 series suffered some major faulty design problems in term of GPS/Wifi and so on. We moved to 6.0.1 only when series 2 came out.
Probably Le 3 series will receive n7.1.1 only after Le 4 series (if any) will be announced/sold, in the meantime you will have countless of useless update (clearly not on the camera since it will be too good).
I've seen some work on Le 2 series, hopefully there will be even more on Le 3 series.
As of now i'm not 100% regretting my choice (270 euros 1.5 years ago for Le 1 Pro) but it is literally a for-geek phone.

If you just want a top-spec phone to use at a great price the le pro 3 fits the bill.
If you want to tinker, probably any other unlocked phone will work better unless they decide to unlock the bootloader.
I've got no regrets so far for $299 us

If you get bored, but then also want the option of cm, I'm not sure how getting a new device will help you. You can have CM or miui now. And CM isn't exactly a grand departure from AOSP/CAF. It's relatively barebones android. Most phones these days are almost identical slabs. If you're gonna use the same OS as you had before, all you're really changing is the shape. Also, the Nexus is going to be your best bet for tinkering. Nexus or Pixel.
As for support, from what I understand LeEco isn't great when it comes to that. Whatever fashion you receive your device in, expect it to change VERY little. It also doesn't help that reports are popping up that the north american venture is coming up very short. Makes me believe they'll be pulling up stakes and going back to China. With the Pro3 currently locked, I'd say avoid it. If you want a toy phone to tinker with, the S3 might be a better choice. It's cheaper, already unlockable (or so people are reporting, I don't actually know myself), and if it receives any development, then it should be interesting. If you get it for $150, it isn't too much of a gamble.
If I were in your position, I'd steer clear. Especially if you were in the US on T-Mobile and can qualify for a Pixel half off through their promotion. At least that way you'll get wifi calling and some top-notch cameras. Either that or an Oppo. Since you're in europe, I don't know what the alternatives are. At least the chinese version is unlockable (the x720) but there's still the matter of development. And I think that'll be unlikely since CM development usually comes to US models.

I don't understand why you keep saying the bootloader is locked though, there is a user on this forum that had it unlocked on x727, LeTV also is officially stating on lemall site that the bootloader is unlockable

That option in developer menu does NOTHING. China model can be bootloader unlocked, us model no.

I've seen several folks in the US version discussion thread report that does NOT work, or -go command version either. So far Leeco are being dicks and not allowing it. Maybe an OTA will change that, and they just didn't want it being unlockable right away... No idea yet. I don't really mind the software that much, it's pretty nice, performs well and battery life is excellent expecially standby. But not even having root is quite a deal breaker. I'd return it just on that news but I don't have more money to replace it with anything else since I broke my X Pure that I was going to sell to offset the Pro3 price. Guess I'm stuck waiting for root and roms that so far looks like will never come. Still a great phone though, even signal and GPS are great which were my biggest concerns about it.

Yeah, not as good as a 6P for sure. It's like most cheaper cameras... Still great in bright light. Indoors not great. Low light, pretty bad. I've seen worse on more expensive phones though. It's better than my X Pure's camera.

This phone is great. So far so good. Coming from a GS5

Well like everyone else have said so far, the x727 can't be unlocked.
the x720 is quite another story, im sitting with TWRP, rooted and with xposed along with all the other great stuff.
The phone is outstanding quality, full metal unibody and all that jazz.
The Camera is uhm there? but it's overall not the best performer, you can take some nice shots in daylight but that's about it.
i installed a custom version of EUI to remove the bloatware, and i'm currently rocking the leaked pixel launcher on top, so far so good.
The only other rom for this phone is MIUI, which is having some issues (atleast for me) with 4g LTE, it just locks itself onto 3g and HSPA+
My dream is a CM based rom sometime in the near future.

Okey so after a lot of doubts i finally pulled the trigger. Stumbled upon a deal i couldnt resist. Aliexpress seller offers full coverage of tax and vat, dhl or dpd shipping, and 240£ for 32gb silver, and 260£ for 64gb gold. I bought 32gb one as i dont need lot of memory. Now the waiting game begins lol. Thanks everyone for imput

Just got Oneplus 64gb invite....

Hey all....
Much to my surprise, I woke up this morning with an invitation to buy the 64GB Oneplus One. I went ahead and made the purchase. Whether I keep it, sell it or use it....no clue.
The G3 was my response to not being able to get the OPO invite. However, after having the G3, I have grown quite fond of it. I have concerns about the customization level even with xposed running. Customizing is important to me. Storage is whatever, not a huge deal. Photographs and videos are a mid priority on my list.
Anyways - anyone here have a chance to play with both? Which did you prefer? I have 1 week to return my G3 before I'm stuck to it. I will most likely return the G3 if the OPO doesn't arrive fast enough to be on the safe side. I'll deal with the return fee.
If anyone has any experience or thoughts on it please share. I read some other threads which were less constructive and more just bickering.
Thanks everyone.

I just got an invite also and I also bought it. Main reason is because Franco is developing kernels for it, and it being fully unlocked. I like the g3 but the software is pissing me off

From a hardware perspective I am quite happy with the g3. That being said...I am Stoll yearning for more customization. The software has been frustrating me as well.
One question I need to answer is if the cost is worth it. 350 is an awesome price.

Even if the devices were similar, I'm so annoyed with OP's business practices that I don't want to support them anyway.
How is the software frustrating? If you download Chrome, Hangouts, Google Camera, and install the Google Now launcher and dialer, you pretty much have a stock experience. Hell you could even get rid of the lock screen and use a replacement to get a more stock feel. Xposed modules will let you customize almost anything Cyanogenmod can.

this is a good post. after all is said and done, they will be quite similar with what is installed. for me, i like to tinker with ROMs and building environments (i'm a ux/ui designer) to play with.
bloatware can be removed so i'm not worried about that. at this stage it is mostly a matter of time. I already ordered it and will just turn around and sell it and keep the G3 or switch to it. I haven't put my G3 down since I got it. Truly an awesome phone.
I may have ordered it because i had waited 4 months for the invitation. Finally comes after I already getting into a committed relationship with the G3. LOL.

Gave my invite away. G3 is leagues ahead, and I am rather fond of LG. The One Plus is a good phone for the price, and the software is top notch. (I have the One Plus ROM installed on my G2. Same hardware I believe) I just believe the G3 is superior in terms of everyday usage. My two cents.
How do you guys get invite to OPO? Should I just register on web site?

I am seeing a consistent trend in this direction. The every day user seems to prefer the G3 while others justify the OPO due to cost, faster updates (assumed by the claimer), and better battery life.
Once I get it in my hands - I will know quickly which I prefer. I just hope we get an unlocked bootloader on the G3. Doesn't have to be right away but soon!

In no way am I bashing the One Plus, I rather like the price for the specs inside. Applauded Google for bringing the Nexus line into fruition, and pushing manufacturers to not screw over the average consumer with mediocre specs for a lot of money. I just am not seeing the justification of a smartphone of that price, when build quality, screen material, and overall spec wise, the G3 beats it (for not a lot more money, I might add)
Another reason I shied away from the One Plus, is the shady dealings of both the manufacturer, and how CM royally screwed over a large contributor base. Again, a great phone, but with shady dealings and practices involved I can see no reason to jump ship to that.
Why would anyone even compare the one plus and g3? It's not even close. People want the one plus because its hard to get.....period.

I have both phones. In my opinion, the G3 is far superior than the Oneplus One in every way hardware wise. The G3 is thinner, smaller, has a better camera, and the screen is gorgeous (everyone has their own opinions). The only thing I like about the Oneplus is cyanogenmod's theme chooser, other than that I'm more than happy with the G3.
Plus, I'm sure cyanogenmod will make it's way to the G3 sooner or later since our T-Mobile G3s are bootloader unlocked.
Edit: Oh, just wanted to point out that the sandstone back of the Oneplus is AMAZING! It feels much better in hand than the G3, but it is also wider and taller which is a no-no.
Sell the OPO for like 100 more than you paid for.
Can't go wrong with either really, as long as you can get an invite for the OPO. They're picking up the pace with those though and you should be able to purchase it outright by the end of Q3 (August)
If any of you have spare invites I still haven't gotten one yet and I'd love one for tinkering. The random invite system is dumb. I was one of their earliest supporters but I didn't create a forum account for a while so I got burned.

I have both phones, and to be honest, they don't really feel like competitors. The G3 is polished, slim, and solidly built, but is heavily restricted with its locked bootloader. The OPO is a flashaholic's dream, but the hardware isn't as nice. Mine has the slight yellow band at the bottom of the screen, too. The OPO feels much faster, but not overwhelmingly.

Is ZTE developer friendly?

Hey folks,
what are the experiences with developing custom roms/kernels for ZTE?
Does ZTE release any helpfull sources, or are they as "closed sourced" as Samsung is?
Currenty OnePlus are releasing all sources they have and developers need, and as a result just 2 weeks after the launch there are already ALL imporant customs roms are available for the OP3. Can we expect any neraly simmilar from ZTE?
Regards,
Mika
They are not friendly at all. Some of the Axon series can't even be rooted so yea.
for the moment we're all waiting anxiously with the hope that ZTE releases unlocking bootloader and sources?
Sounds not very promising or motivating to buy the Axon 7. I really don't get it why companies are trying to prevent million of android enthusiast to buy their devices ...
they probably see stuff like sources as intellectual property which could be copied by their competitors or lead to more exploits.

Kernelsources fall under GPl though. So if they dont comply with the Licence you could just sue them for it.
I was thinking of things like drivers for proprietary stuff like the speakers, DAC, HDMI etc, anything that they've made themselves or licensed from a third party.
Axon 7 is from specs side way better than 1+3 in my opinion and it costs only €50 more...but...the thing about hard or impossible to root and lack of custom ROMs holds me from buying it.
I am unsure about ZTE to deliver long-term updates...usually....I can only rely on custom ROMs for updates.
At the moment, I still haven't decided which one to get. I am torn between community support (1+3) vs better balanced specs (Axon7).
I agree the ZTE Axon 7 looks really good. I am a bit concerned with its lack of root. Without root no Custom O/S or software will be developed. I have pre ordered the phone but may cancel due to lack of root. I will decide soon what to do.
Sent from my ONE A2003 using XDA-Developers mobile app
An Android smartphone without root possibility and custom ROMs, as long as the manufacturer keeps delivering updates...let say for at least 2 years... you do not have a huge problem.
The problem is...if you do not have root, do not have custom ROMs and the manufacturer does not deliver updates at all....the phone is so good as a piece of junk
Apparently some of the chinese ones are getting google play and other google apps on them, that isn't usually just as easy as installing the apk file so how are they getting these apps on?
Any chinese phone I've bought generally refuses to let you install google apps as they want system access.

I completely agree on this. I'm split between those two and consider a third one which hasn't been released yet the Asus Zenfone 3 deluxe.
I guess we will wait somewhat longer for more information to come out.
@celoxocis
Zenfone 3 deluxe, the variant with Snap 821+6GB RAM+256GB memory is too expensive.
The 820, 4GB RAM and 64GB memory version is interesting too...but...nobody knows when this will come to Europe.

For Europe it will be launched after "IFA 2016" which is 04.-09. September 2016.
The good thing is the older Zenfone Series is already supported by CM.
And i know some CM devs are looking forward to add support for the Zenfone 3 deluxe once out.
I will definitely wait. For me it comes down which one of the three gets the best dev support.
For now:
1+3 is leading (except for their Dash(Vooc) Charger sources. which is why i still hold back)
ZTE Axon 7. Who knows if it ever be unlock-able. The forum post might just have been another PR gag.
Zenfone 3 deluxe. Waiting patiently...
Almost complete pre-order but decided against it due to its uncertain rootability. I still own Oneplus One and love it but want slight upgrade and thought Axon 7 would be the perfect upgrade progression. I will wait and see.

I like how you said "slight upgrade"! I love my OPO too, it is as fast as ever and plenty powerful, but the front facing speakers of the Axon 7 are very intriguing and I'm also considering it unless ZTE is awful with pushing out updates and if the bootloader will stay locked with no root. Then the only option is OP3.
Another One owner here looking to "upgrade". The battery on my phone is getting bad. I'm sure a new battery would breath life into this phone but after my wife's new Moto G (125$) camera bested my One's, I knew it was time. Bring on the front face speakers and Daydream support, as long as the bootloader is unlocked! Better have double tap to wake!

It has double tap to wake. Very useful.
Word going around is that ZTE said in a community webinar tonight that it's a matter of when NOT if the bootloader is going to be unlocked. Doesn't sound like it's launching with an unlocked bootloader but it will be unlocked "later". Kinda lame.
I can confirm that on the webinar it was stated its a matter of "when" not "if"

What is the Future of this phone as of now ?

I've had this phone about 3 months now and thought it was going to be good in the dev community but as im seeing now it seems all dev for this phone is dead or dying, so what hope is there that we will have any roms or new mods for this phone?Yes i understand about the locked bootloader but i was looking at the note 7 forum and they have roms for there phone and the note 7 came out after the 7 edge? i would just like to know in everyone's opinion should we be waiting and hoping for someone to break the codes and unlock our phones true potential or just shut my mouth and sit back and take what i've got and be happy with it. Don't get me wrong i commend the Echoe rom team and all the hard work they did for us and that should not be overlooked. All im saying is what do we need to get this phone poppin like all the other phones ?
Thanks
A New S7 Edge Owner
I guess all we could do is hang on to this one and trade it in or sell it when the S8 comes out and maybe we won't get screwed on the next model.
I was thinking about trading it for one of the new Google Pixel XL phones, but they aren't going to have an SD slot. I think I am still going to trade it for something else though... having a hard time figuring out what I want that's comparable.
If you're looking for a mod friendly device, you should look elsewhere. With a locked bootloader, you're not going to get much dev support. Having said that, I would say that the future of this phone is bright. I can honestly say that I see no reason for me to mess with the system. It's excellent as it is.

Yea, hate to say it, but Google should stick to making software. Either that, or actually develop the production capacity to do your own manufacturing or at least quality control, instead of farming it out to random Chinese manufacturers. My only experience with Nexus is the Nexus 5, but that device was awful. In fact, I can't think of a single redeeming quality of that device.
I'm selling mine and going back to the Note 4

Id take the functionality and stability of a nexus any day. You do not know what you are talking about if you really think this phone or an iphone is worlds ahead of a nexus. Yeah, the nexus 5 was cheap feeling, it was $350 brand new, and it was the most reliable phone I've ever had. And I've had a couple iphones, you guys either don't know what your doing or got a bad device.

I've been a nexus user since the Nexus 5 launched. and a CM user for years before then. the S7 edge is my first Samsung device (and only because I got it for free), because I have always felt the same way about Samsung as I do about apple. all hype, all trend, ignorant (non-power-user) fanbase. Samsung is literally the apple of Android, if you know what I mean. I'll never own another Samsung device after this one.

Do you think the bootloader will be unlocked? I'm still kinda new to Android and the first recent one I got was this S7 Edge. The V20 does look really nice though, hope it is released soon.
I also like the HTC 10 because there is a ton of stuff for it. The Viper rom looks awesome, pretty crazy they have OTA updates for the rom.

Typically LG doesn't lock their bootloaders, and since its going to be the same phone internationally its dev community may be loads better.

A few developments in the last month:
Unified 935U based roms - This will be great as the unification of US rom development (and the ability to have VOLTE) will make life better for US S7 users as they will have the newest rom of the 5 options running.
Note 7 release: The Note 7's UI seems better (samsung has already started promised to unify the UI in android 7) and the rom has been ported (same chipset).
Enhanced T-mobile Support on international models: Wifi calling/Volte has now been ported to the International (935F) model, at least if rooted. I switched as the Exynos version is faster and has better battery life (and the gap is greater in rooted versions than stock) and a stronger development community including Note 7 ports.

Goodness no. If you root and just care about speed, battery and custom rom options on android 6/touchwiz (and don't care about US warranty support), I would say yes.
If you care about warranty support, want an unrooted phone (or the ability to root without tripping Knox), want to use Samsung Pay or like T-mobile's financing options, The US model is definitely the one. It also has more upside
Long Term, Samsung's Android 7 may see a boot-loader unlock option, which would jump start CM/kernel development (cutting the performance gap between the phones and giving people who like Samsung's industrial design but not their software design a good solution). Next month, there will be Nexus phones running SD820, which will continue the advantage Qualcomm based roms have in custom development.
I'm going to be patient. This is a book I've read before. The fact is that the S7 edge will have the bootloader unlocked eventually.

The only fact here is that nobody really knows what may or may not happen. Wishful thinking is one thing, but it is far from fact.

Wow you guys amaze me, I guess if it isnt made out of glass and metal with diamonds on it then its not worthy for you. I've had the nexus 5, 6 and 2013 7, and although this is a nice phone.

The Nexus 5 was an awful device, with awful battery life, awful display, awful speaker, and awful camera. It was quick with stock Android, but it literally had no other redeeming qualities. Mine has been used as a paperweight, to keep papers from flying off my desk when my windows is open. I am not joking. I will take an Apple device over the Nexus 5 any day, and I can't stand Apple. And yes, I have an Apple device too. I have not had any other Nexus devices, and probably never will. Samsung devices have treated me very well over the years so I am sticking with them. And honestly, the GS7 is an excellent device all around, I couldn't care less about a locked bootloader. The days of spending hours/days flashing ROMs are behind me. I have more important things to do with my free time. So before you go off and make blanket statements such as "we don't know what we are doing," consider the fact that some of us don't share the same interests as you. The majority of the world wants a device that works out of the box and doesn't know what a bootloader is, much less that it can be locked or unlocked. You, and this community, are a tiny minority of smartphone users. And guess what, there are companies that cater to you as well. Don't be pissed at Samsung for delivering what their customers wanted.

H870DS Bootloader workaround?

Hello,
So I got the H870DS version without knowing about LG's policy on bootloader unlocking so I was really disappointed when I learned that I can't unlock my phone.
A friend of mine got the European version and he doesn't care much about unlocking his phone and I was wondering if I could use his phone's id and imei to generate an unlock.bin file and use that on my device, my initial thought was that it wouldn't work because somehow the key should be unique to the device but still I wanted a second opinion on this just to be sure.

I understand that you have gravitated towards Android because it has the customization support, and we are all very happy to welcome you. But it is these kinds of posts that put off the developers. Please read the G6 thread and search for your specific model. If it is locked, it is locked. Sell the phone and buy a Samsung, or a OnePlus; or wait patiently for an unofficial workaround. Have a nice day!

I'm sorry for the post but I'm feeling desperate. I had the OnePlus One for 2 years and I loved it for the customization, different roms etc. I really like this device that's why I want to avoid selling and it doesn't look like LG has any intention of offering an unlocked bootloader for my device version
Well better do my homework next time I'm gonna buy a new phone.

Man, I feel you. Even I was about to order this literally yesterday. Then I saw that the support LG offers is not just pathetic, but non-existent. Are we supposed to think of their devices as flagships, when we aren't even getting full ownership of the device after paying the full amount upfront? This is the reason its rivals are doing much better, even after LG uses the "latest" tech.
Anyways, I ordered the OnePlus 5, and that will be my first Chinese smartphone. I am very skeptical about the OP5 as well, cause it is hardly a flagship (no expandable memory, no water resistance, no dust resistance, easily overpriced by $50), but what can you do?! The smartphone market is really pathetic since 2015. Consumers are so stupid and jump on the bandwagon like a bunch of sheep. I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy S4, and none of the smartphones have impressed me since 2013, except maybe the S8, which is way too overpriced by at least a $100!

From what I understand they don't offer bootloader support for the asian version because they're afraid that resellers may load bloatware or even spyware on the device before selling it and so you're sure you're getting a safe out of box software experience this way and I guess the majority of buyers won't care about unlocking it thus hurting more "advanced" users.
The OnePlus 5 seems decent although they have indeed overpriced it a bit for what it offers but I've held different OnePlus devices (One, X, 3) and their build quality is nice and the unlocked bootloader will prolong its lifespan by quite a bit through custom roms.

Yep, LG and its code of ethics has hurt developers and hardcore users big time. In one way I guess you have to agree to it as well, because it is indeed great to see a firm that cares about security and user information safety (unlike the OnePlus which blatantly takes user info, but can be avoided after installing a custom ROM, which is why we buy Android smartphones )
I am hoping to not think of any other device for another 2-3 years at least. If the new OnePlus that's coming out later this year or early next year is good then I'll definitely exchange the OnePlus 5 for that. Smartphone buying has become hectic!

He thinks my model being the Korean one is gonna show problems soon lol, oh and he has the white color which I really don't like because it makes the black line between the body of the phone and the screen noticeable.

Why Is Development Lacking?

This is only a question and dicussion I want to bring up, this is not about anything else, and truly not about disrespecting anyone, but just asking why is development slow... Please don't be offended, it was not my intentions by asking these things, just trying to figure why a nice phone doesn't have more people working on it is all..
I have my own ideas, maybe these are the reasons.
1. Smaller Company - but the Geeks know who Andy Rubin is
2. See number 1, with Andy Rubin at the wheel, where are the Android enthusiasts supporting the project?
3. Ok company has had a bad start, lots of bad reviews, mostly over the camera
So a smaller company, and the newbie phone users are all chasing after the bigger well known names, but again, what's happening here with the Android Geeks?
Anyhow, small company, bad reviews, started out costly, now prices are down. So where's the Android love for one of the Founders?
Agreed. But I guess we have 2 more years (till 2020, I guess) of support from essential side. I own Xiaomi Mi5 and Essential Ph1. Quite a lot of difference in development. SD820 has started to show signs of aging and 3GB ram is not holding up well. Will hold on to Essential for next few years. Hope development kicks in. Although happy with stock rom and android p beta program.
Not a bad phone at all. for 500 dollars. Not much into camera. Overall a great phone. Dunno why there was so much negativity around this phone.
del
@Rahat34, I sometimes wonder if there was just a lot of propaganda posting going on against the Essential. It was strange all the negativity as you mention, and to be honest, we all know all phones out there get their share of it, but for some reason, I really wondered when it came to this phone, now this was all without even owning this phone, I just thought it was odd. By the way, they just went on sale for half off, I ordered a few at $249USD...
But looks like the sale is over.
@Tech_Savvy, so is there any work going on with TWRP at the moment, that there should be something working soon?
As far as ROMS are concerned, there's a lot of Android users in the world, so saying how many we need, well, that's anyone's guess.
The AospExtended, this is a really nice ROM I'd like to see for the Essential.
Also if my eyes are seeing correct, I didn't notice Franco or Void with Kernels for the phone.
Then there's microG, any ROMs supporting it good?
I wonder, if Xposed is working good on Esssential with Oreo, stock or custom?

Even for $500, gettiing a SD835, unlockable bootloader, titanium-ceramic build,a nice lcd panel (and what not) was a steal. $250, its nuts . Here, we get 625 schip at this much price and crappy glassy phones.
Must have been some sort of propaganda/conspiracy. Every phone has drawbacks, But boy every youtube review was bashing this phone.

Yes it's a low price I paid...
Depends what you're after really. If you want a few solid roms, or a hundred half baked bug ridden roms. I've done the "huge" forums before where I had to wade through twenty roms in order to find one that functioned decently. I'm past my days of needing to flash a new rom on a daily basis though. Work and kids keep me from having the time to do that anymore even if I wanted to.
I"ll take a solid dependable phone with support from the manufacturer any day.
I'll add as well, there are quite a few roms that are simply not posted on these forums (validus, gzosp, etc).

Ive heard to go to discord but ive found nothing. Where should i go to find them?
Sure no one wants half baked, but there should be twice the amount of development going on that is at present.
Anyhow, I would hope that everyone agrees there is not a lot of development going on.
So, what do people think on this forum about an email drafted up, and the Modding Community reaching out to Essential, in hopes of building up it's modding development?
just got the phone from prime day sale plus extra $100 off from AMEX, paid around $170 total. I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised by the build quality, it makes my LG V30 feels like a toy. Reception problem with AT&T is real though I would actually see zero reception driving around my neighborhood in upstate NY which never happens in any other phones I have.

@oceansoul, sorry, not sure what you mean by your post for development?
Thanks
you asked for why there is so little development for the phone, maybe because of the reception issue, not many people are using it? at the same spot I am getting -112dBm for PH-1 and -83dBm for Lg V30 on ATT LTE band 2
It really doesn't sound like you'll be happy with this phone, I'm sure someone will take it off your hands.
