LGUP - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I'm trying to play around with the LGUP tool and am having some difficulty. I can be a moron sometimes so I'll readily believe it's operator error.
When I plug in and open the app, it says "unknown model" and won't let be go further. Is this because the tool has to be updated? I'm on version 1.14.3.

HTML:
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+G2%2FStock%2FSprint+LS980%2F
Install
1. Install the LG drivers
2. Install LGFlashTools
3. Extract the TOT\ DLL file from the ZIP and the Megalock DLL and add it to your LGFlashTools folder.
Which is located at the root of the computer.
4. Run the lg tool
5. hit manual and add you files where they belong
6. hit the yellow arrow and all Done !!!
Drivers initialization
1. Put the phone into download mode. (Turn off device PRESS VOL UP while plugging in the micro usb cable. If this doesn't work, try holding both volume keys instead)
2. Let the phone initialize and install the drivers. Once done, in Device manager, you should see the LG phone listed under COM ports (something along these lines).
3. Find that LG entry in Device Manager, click on Properties, Advanced and then change the COM port to COM41 and close/save.
4. Unplug your phone! Important step.
LGFlashTools
Note: you need Megalock DLL file to open LGFlashTools
Flashing
5. There is a yellow arrow on the top left. Click on it to initialize the process. It will reboot and that's it .
6. Put the phone in download mode again, and plug it into the USB port. LG FLash Tools should start flashing it automatically. When it's done, it'll automatically reboot into your stock AT&T rom and all of your data and internal sdcard files are gone.

There could be many reasons why it didn't work. Just have to be patient and see if you had missed any steps. Have you tried using a different computer? You have the right drivers installed for your carrier? Got into Download Mode with no problems? You have the stock rom and the correct dll files? Seems like you know what you're doing so I suggest try it on a different computer and remember to reboot your system after making any changes/installations of programs or drivers.
I was in a similar situation and panicked and did rush through some steps which luckily I calmed down long enough to realize my mistakes and got a successful flash. Good luck on getting your phone running stock again or able to exchange for a new one.
In the spring.zip file there is the dll file and the tot file make sure you put both file and not use the att dll file. If you got the right one there is others thread that shows how to vome out of boot loop with out having to go back.

Has anyone found a solution to this error? I have this problem on my At&T LGD800 as well. Would have thought there'd be a way to force it to install and ignore errors.

so I got lg support tool to install, but now it doesn't recognize my phone as being plugged in. in the directions it appears that you have to enable usb debugging, but I cant do that cause my phone wont boot past TWRP recovery.i already wiped everything on the phone. is there a way to flash to stock from twrp?
here is a screen shot. my model isn't listed in the available options for a driver.

Put your phone in download mode
Navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
open hosts in notepad++ or whatever..
maybe you'll notice the lines 127.0.0.1 lg..blabla.., just delete them or put # in front of them (#127.0.0.1 lg.blablabla..)
This is in case you tried the automatic offline kdz installer and the vbs couldn't remove the lines itself.

[Q] Phone stuck at LG Logo after failed software update

After basically reinstalling stock recovery, my phone went into a software update. However, it soon gave an error message, after which I turned off the phone (it said not to, but I was rather panicked). Now, the phone is stuck at the LG logo. I can turn it off, but it turns on soon after. I haven't been able to get it into download mode and my computer doesn't seem to be able to detect it at all. Help?

You never mentioned what variant you have... whats your phone model number?
Perfect. You have download mode which means its a soft-brick. It doesn't show up because you need to install the drivers.
Follow instructions 100% in this thread. I was in the exact situation as you after an update.
I would suggest to use the 2nd method. Instructions halfway down the page.

I think you need to consult a Tier 2 rep on your network provider, Worst case scenario, you need to return the phone and replaced it when you got the warranty.

I can't exit download mode lg v35 at&t

I was trying to put the firmware of the v35 google but it was blocked at 11% and now it does not leave the download mode. I tried to flash it but it tells me that the lg v35awm10f dll is invalid
Did you use LGUP? Got more info?
you need to use the proper lgup patched, i was on the same situation, was trying during 4 hours, then finally i could install it, i think while you're on download mode conected to a pc the phone actually is charging the battery because when i could install pie the phone was on 100% battery, so, don't desesperate, i used the lg up of a post in here about how to install korean pie
