LeVR Pro 1 will support Le Max 2 - LeEco Le Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

I was disapointed that LeEco didn't anounce anything about the Le Max 2 at the October 19th event and assumed that the ExploreVR wouldn't be compatible with the Le Max 2, which is disapointing because the Le 3 and Le 3 Pro don't have 2k screens. I wasn't sure so I did some searching and found new news articles about the event they said the headset would only be compatible with the Le 3 and Le 3 Pro. I still wasn't sure so I did more searching and found the LeEco Cool 1 a cardboard headset without a IMU. I was about to give up when I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV272GpZ6qk which showed a LeEco keynote that showed a VR headset similar to the ExploreVR but compatible with the Le Max 2. After some more searching I found it the LeVR Pro 1 this headset was anounced in April http://www.xiaomitoday.com/leeco-le...adset-costs-60-will-start-selling-9th-august/. It will cost 399 yuan about $60, Its compatible with the Le 2, Le Pro 2, and Le Max 2, it has dedicated IMU and 18ms latency like the Gear VR. Though the article said the VR headset would released on the 9th august it got delayed and will only launch the 25th of October and will be in a limited quantity of 2000 on lemall http://cn.lemall.com/product/levrpro1.html. Some resellers have already started taking preorders. https://www.spemall.com/LETV-LeVR-Pro-1-Helmet-3D-Head-Mounted-Glasses_g.html. The only problem I see is content, 360 degree videos are cool but games are really where its at. LeEco shows some games in background images that are popular games on the Gear VR. Dark Matter, Mortal Blitz, Hidden Temple hopefully they will have english language files. Otherwise it is possible that someone will figure out how to get apps from the American Explore VR to work on the chinese variant, or port Daydream Apps or Gear VR apps

The explorevr and the levr pro 1 is the same thing, just dif name for marketing reasons.

[Discussion] News about le eco 1s successor Le 2

Le Eco may official announce the successor of le 1s on April 20 2016 with few other devices in an event in Beijing.
While the 1s sports an all-metal build, the 2s is reported to be a metal plus glass build
Some leaks states that newer model comes with a more powerful processor — the Snapdragon 652 — which is about 40% more powerful than the Snapdragon 650 found inside the Redmi Note 3.
According to some other leaks it may have deca-core MediaTek MT6769T chipset with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device features a 5.5-inch Full HD display. Inside we find a deca-core MediaTek MT6769T chipset clocked at 2.0GHz and handling the graphics will be an ARM Mali-T880.
There’s 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with no support for microSD cards. The primary camera on the Le 2 will be a 16MP unit and it also features 4K video recording. The front-facing camera is an 8MP unit.
Another important feature that should keep the Le 2 ahead of the competition when announced will be an ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
According to Leaks i think it is worth waiting for this device if it comes with snapdragon processor
The letv team is launching a new phone every month this makes me more assured that the buyers are not going to get support for these phones .the ui is buggy and crappy .camera app is worst than a 5k handset they have huge amount of bloatware already loaded that even 3 GB ram is insufficient to handle those terrorists.rather than addressing these issues they are launching new buggy handsets.my advise is to stay away from this manufacturer

New Mi VR Headset - Does Not Support Mi Max

The new Mi VR headset which was announced 2 days ago only supports the Mi Note 2 and the Mi 5, not the Mi Max!
I was really disappointed by this. I have been struggling to find a VR headset for the 6.44" Mi Max. Most either don't fit the phone at all or crop the visible area to around 5" making the extra large screen useless. Why on earth would Xiaomi launch a new headset for current models and not include this one? Even their previous really basic VR Play headset supported it!

I just opened a thread which might be interesting and give us a 'workaround' for non officially supported devices...

LeEco Le Pro 3 AI Edition

Anyone have this edition of the Le Pro 3? I'm wondering what the "AI" feature(s) bring to the phone and if we are able to port the software to the original Le Pro 3.
The AI edition have a different hardware, cpu Mediatek, different camera and a proprietary "AI" LeEco vocal assistant (marketing strikes again!). I doubt this "AI" may be something really useful, for the remaining stuff it's not easily adaptable because the hardware is vastly different! Cheers!

Le Pro 3 Elite Vs Le Max 2?

Which phone is overall better and which one has better camera?
They're pretty much the exact same device, except the Max 2 has a 1440p screen (versus the Elite's 1080p screen), but the Elite has the better camera (IMX 298 vs. the IMX 230 in the Max 2), and battery (Elite has a 4100mAh battery vs the Max 2's 3100mAh battery).
https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8051&idPhone2=8614
IMO the Elite is a better buy because it's cheaper and has better specs overall. 1440p on an LCD screen is kinda worthless. It's only worth it on an AMOLED screen because then you get to use Google's Daydream headset for VR.
But if you care for custom ROM support, the Max 2 is definitely better. The LeEco Pro3 Elite doesn't have official source code out, and instead, sources are taken from the x720 (the standard Pro3 model with the SD821). The Max 2 has official kernel sources from LeEco so ROMs are less buggy compared to the Elite. But it really doesn't make much of a difference as the Max 2's non-Marshmallow ROMs are still buggy. But the Max 2 has a lot more ROMs than the Elite does as of now.
Le max 2 roms take a lot from x720 both have the same future a lot of roms!
I had both and I recommend Le Pro3 Elite, much better battery, camera colors are better too
About roms, Le Pro3 Elite is supported now as 720 is, so, we'll have the same roms of the normal Le Pro3

what to buy after leeco le pro3

Hi, what is now similar to this model but with nfc and custom roms available?
Dealing now with the exact same question. I am looking at battery replacement and new devices also. I think realme x50 or oneplus 8 pro will be the winner - I want top optics after LeEco Pro 3.
