Le Pro 3 Elite Vs Le Max 2? - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Which phone is overall better and which one has better camera?

They're pretty much the exact same device, except the Max 2 has a 1440p screen (versus the Elite's 1080p screen), but the Elite has the better camera (IMX 298 vs. the IMX 230 in the Max 2), and battery (Elite has a 4100mAh battery vs the Max 2's 3100mAh battery).

IMO the Elite is a better buy because it's cheaper and has better specs overall. 1440p on an LCD screen is kinda worthless. It's only worth it on an AMOLED screen because then you get to use Google's Daydream headset for VR.
But if you care for custom ROM support, the Max 2 is definitely better. The LeEco Pro3 Elite doesn't have official source code out, and instead, sources are taken from the x720 (the standard Pro3 model with the SD821). The Max 2 has official kernel sources from LeEco so ROMs are less buggy compared to the Elite. But it really doesn't make much of a difference as the Max 2's non-Marshmallow ROMs are still buggy. But the Max 2 has a lot more ROMs than the Elite does as of now.

Le max 2 roms take a lot from x720 both have the same future a lot of roms!

I had both and I recommend Le Pro3 Elite, much better battery, camera colors are better too
About roms, Le Pro3 Elite is supported now as 720 is, so, we'll have the same roms of the normal Le Pro3

Le Max3 has been leaked (SnapDragon 821, Dual Camera, USB-C)

See the photos here.
There aren't that many changes in comparison to Le Max2: SoC has been upgraded to SD821 (a very modest improvement), Max3 now features USB-C and dual rear camera.
Le Max 2 has USB-C so it isn't new feature in Max 3
For some reasons I've totally forgotten about that even though it's the only device with USB-C at my possession
What about the software?

Everyone still using this as their daily driver?

I just busted the screen and looking for an alternative.
The Xiaomi Note Redmi 4X while only being 5.5inches and an IPS screen, has roughly the same spec and I can get it for around 150USD at the moment.
Any other recommendations as I think I want a phone I can manage more easily in public.
I'll still use the Honor Note 8 at home for streaming videos and such as the cracks aren't luckily on the viewable area.
Xiaomi Mi Max or Mi Max 2
For long battery life Lenovo P2
Redmi Note 4X is enough for daily use, been superb in battery life here, especially if you have rooted and unlocked bootloader. Check our XDA Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon section, very large community and many devs supports, so much ROM you can choose. So much supports you can rely on if you like customizing things.
But if you have a little more budget you can take Lenovo P2, same specs but better display (AMOLED), Gorilla Glass, Battery monster and support fast charging. It's very reliable phone for daily use I think
Cheers guys, 4X looks solid as a budget phone and the P2 looks great with the extra battery and better screen. Just need to figure out if those features are worth double the price.
Just bought the Redmi 4X MTK 4GB version...
Quite dissapointed compared to the Honor Note 8 even though they are roughly the same gen spec.
Performance: Redmi lags opening a variety of apps, Note 8 is still snappy since the day I bought it
Interface: MIUI has no multi-browser support, seems clunky and lacking in options, EMUI is comprehensive and feature rich
Bluetooth: Redmi disconnects on occasion, Note 8 has never
Battery: Redmi drains from 100% to 0% in 8-9hours!, Note 8 lasts 24hours+ - 4100mAh vs 4500mAh, no comparison
Heat: Redmi sitting at 42C, Note 8 at 32C while both are charging, Redmi feels hot even when screen is off, Note 8 always seems cool
I'm looking to get my Note 8 screen fixed and sell the 4X. Only thing I like is the black on black and smaller foot print. Everything, and I mean everything else is better on the Honor Note 8.
The Redmi Note 4X has a Snapdraon 625 - are you sure it is a Mediatek SoC (i.e. the Helio X20), as this should only be present in the Chinese Note 4?
I have owned both the Helio X20 Note 4, Redmi Note 4X SD625 and Redmi Note 4 Global SD625 and battery life has been above average (X20) to fantastic (SD625) on these devices.

LeEco Pro 3 Elite X722 vs. LeEco Le Max 2

Has anyone had both of these phones in hand? Both can be purchased for the same price.
I have a rough idea of the positives and negatives of each model in my head. Does anyone else here have an opinion on which is the better phone overall?
Personal preference
2K display Le max 2, Le Pro 3 more battery ...
I had both, Le max first for over 5 months. Very solid and brilliant display, the camera isnt good enough. What made me get rid of it is its size, too large for a 5.7 incher, they didnt manage the space inside very well, it's even way thicker than Le 2 while it has the same battery and a significantly bulkier surface area, truly sux. For Le 3, just bough one a month ago, it has all the Le max goodies with smaller form factor and way larger battery, the camera is significantly better and snappier. The display is great as well, not as thin as I would have liked it to be though. For the rest, everything is the same.
Had both here too, still got pro 3.I find the Pro 3 is less buggy, fingerprint sensor, screen colors, also has much better battery life. Saying this I thought the max2 was a great phone still, just the pro3 does it a little better and much longer.

x722 or Le Max 2

Basically I just want gcam to work, but I leaning to the le max 2, as the x722 seems to have too many issues within the ROM. What would you advise?

I think Google camera work good for Nougat rom. There is tread for Gcam, personally I don't mind as I use stock cam app, Footej etc. I haven't use Google cam.
For the phone before I have Le Max2 about 6 months, sold it just a little big and bulky. I bought X722 recently which have Sd820 same as Le Max2 so if you want more compact phone the choice is X722. For rom maybe Le Max2 is better as it been released for a while. X722 doesn't have its own rom, people just took rom from X720 and make some modifications to be compatible with the device.
The Le Max 2 has more custom ROM support and dev interest. x722 has very little and no truly stable Nougat ROMs. No Oreo either.
Lemax2 has qhd display 20mp camera for me it is better

How is the battery on that phone?
Sent from my LEX727 using xda premium

redmi note 6 pro

Is the note a upgrade or downgrade from the le pro 3?
Personally I consider it a downgrade. Perhaps camera is better (although GCam in Le Pro 3 rocks) and lower and newer processor means better battery life, but in general terms it can't beat Le Pro 3.
A sidegrade at best. Better cam, better battery life, slower cpu, much worse GPU, worse build quality, worse connectivity (micro usb in 2018?!)

I've got a Mi 6x so basically the same phone. Again it's a sidegrade from the Le Pro3. It's not really that much different from the Redmi Note 6 really, it just has a slightly more powerful CPU and a smaller battery and USB-C.

I really like the a2 but the 3000mah is a deal breaker plus i really love miui
Some youtube reviewer put the Le Pro 3 (with custom rom) up against the Redmi Note 5 Pro:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Jj0mPyZTc
Surprisingly the S820 with UFS 2.0 storage couldn't beat the newer S636 with just slower EMMC, despite using a custom rom on the Leeco vs MIUI on the Redmi.
On top of that, the Redmi Notes have a microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack and a significantly better battery life. I've also not been able to get rid of the fluctuating cell signal strength and noticably high input lag on my Le Pro 3 (x722/Elite).
So unless you're into gaming, the Redmi is a better choice. The build quality is likely better on the Le Pro 3. But I'd go with the Pocophone or Mi 8 Lite atm, they're more expensive than the Redmi Note 5/6 but better value imho.

I wonder what a custom it is. This movie without selecting a good custom on le pro 3 is unreliable.

I agree.
The Rom was Pixel Experience June 2018 around the time that Gabronog was doing blind updates due to his phone being bricked or damaged. I was using that Rom around that time and although that Rom was great overall.
That time period wasn't the best of what the PIXEL rom could be. If I remember correctly in June 2018, AICP and Lineage were the best performers and Miui 9 had the best battery life.
I can say this with some confidence since I have kept a record of stats for all the Roms that I have used since early June 2018.
