How can we set multiple screens on the Droid Z Force which comes with a default 2 screens. Earlier we could long press on the home screen and go to personalize to add more screens. HELP.
Are you talking "split scree" or two physical screens?
Not sure what it is called, in the Droid Turbo, when you slide your finger on the home screen, you get to another screen, slide again to the 3rd screen as so on (upto 4 screens). But on the Z Force, we get only 2 screens

Ah, okay, you mean the home screen. I use Nova Launcher rather than the default, so I didn't notice this at all. But I just switched back to the built in launcher for a second to test. It looks like the built in launcher dynamically adds pages as you need/make them.
Try this... on the second page, tap and hold on a widget or icon, then drag it to the right off the edge of the screen. Home Launcher should create a new page for you.

you can have as many screens as you want with the stock launcher. i have 26 home screens right now(just for fun). just go i the app draw and bring up an app to the home screen then slide it to the right and a new screen will appear. remove all the apps from a screen and it will disappear .

This one just works out of the box and doesn't give you the feeling that you have to root it to make it work better like Samsung and LG phones.

It's a downgrade. You get the same hardware. Also, the Z Force is more future proof with the mods.

Well Hi All. Madhouse here. A buddy of mine who is a firefighter is also a part time Verizon employee, he was gracious enough to let me carry a droid X demo for the day here. It's currently 12:37 pm here and i will have access to the phone for a few more hours here. I made a few videos and took some pictures, i will try my best to answer any requests made in this thread while i have the phone. A few basic principals apply. Obviously i will not be demoing any rooting or hacking type activities on the phone because it is not mine.

I'll check into the launcher thing for you and the screen is AMAZINGLY accurate, i'll have a video of the multitouch vis app test up in a minute. It makes the Evo (My phone) look terrible as far as touch responsiveness.
how loud does the "loud" speaker sound compared to other smartphones? Also do you feel that the dual leds are very bright? Do the hard buttons on the front feel like they are good quality?

It's definitely loud. It's about as loud as an Evo 4G's or Droid Incredible's. We have all three phones present. Tested them all.

I was going to make a video but im using the Evo to make the videos, but yeah, it is SPOT ON for the touch sensitivity, makes the Evo look like it's stuck in the mud. Probably due to the FPS cap or something for all i know.

It's big, it's especially big if you turn it sideways. I'm a big guy too (6'4" 268 lbs.) The keyboard feels natural too, it's of good size. It has a multitouch keyboard as well as swype for fast typing.
Any chance you have a micro-hdmi cable handy to test playing a DIVX/AVI movie on a TV?

Swype works VERY well for people with large fingers because its just dragging it across the keyboard and yes the keyboard feels great.

Does this necessarily mean Launcher Pro is running instead of Moto's default? Or can it be on top of the original (i.e. wasting mem/cpu, running both)?
The choice it gives on pressing the home screen is just that it recognizes there are 2 registered apps that handle launcher requests, right? It doesn't necessarily kill one for the other, does it?

Take your Xperia Play box in your hands and look at the main side (big XPERIA PLAY and two photos of the phone). Look at the second, right photo and look at the place near right trigger. See little engraved Camera-shape?
It means that the right trigger might be planned to be used as shutter button for our Plays but in some reason this idea was withdrawn and original Plays are without this engraved shape. I wonder why

Yes. That mod bugs out on me though. Ceases to function often so I rather not use it at all. Point is we shouldn't have to mod to get that function. It must have been officially planned at some point.

Yeah, pretty cool function. I've discovered it too, unexpectadely when I was testing multitouch. It causes a little jaw drop and jealousy in my friends' faces and they say the want it too on their phones (SGS 2, Galaxy Tab, Optimus 3D). Mwhahahahahaha >:-D
Also using two fingers is very helpful in scrolling up or down quickly if there's lot of a text or menu buttons (ex. Settings or text communicators, doesn't work in web browsers). You have to place them next to each other but not very close and slide both fingers up or down to scroll very very quickly. The position of displayed text is adequate to the position of the fingers - the end of options/text at the lowest part of the screen and the beginning of options/text at the highest part of the screen. Tried this on SGS and Optimus and these phones doesn't have that function, strange.

Yeah but it records HD in the 3gp container instead of mp4, bit annoying
It shouldn't be so, but pressing x takes photos.
That little camera icon and the Hdmi thing makes you wonder what else they got rid of.

Shaking isn't needed for anything but tapping on a widget will bring you to that screen suppose it could save someone about a millisecond rather then switching screens
Has anyone else experienced a slight lag when going from any app to lets say, the home screen? It happens frequently with me, in fact, when going to the home screen sometimes the wallpaper is not even there, it takes about an additional second for it to appear.
Coming from a M8 this was never an issue for me. I have 13 days left with the phone so im trying to see if its worth it. :/
Having a D6633 and now a d6603 and helping a friend to get and use his z3 compact I've never seen something like this in more than 3 weeks, that with 4 different firmwares between them.
So, it must be some of your app causing it, I'd recommend to just reset to factory and begin again and try again, you still have enough time to see if you got a defective one or if it was one of the apps.
Disable triple tap to zoom, some phones came with it enabled, it causes lag.

I believe accessibility menu, if my memory serves me correctly, I cannot check as I am waiting for a replacement.
I'm using both Z3 and Note 4. Z3 is smoother than Note 4.

Whatever... Camera is not as great as hoped no, but the device itself is still a great one.
No issues here, only a slight lag in background image loading when unlocking (but that seems more like a transition effect). Other then that, smooth as butter.

As mentioned before, disable triple tap to zoom, it causes lag. If it is still there then I can't say much.

I was unable to find this setting anywhere. Was this a known issue for a previous model?
If i compare the gaming performance between Z3 and Z2 in Asphalt 8, i have to say that it runs a lot smoother on my girlfriends Z2. I dont know, the whole UI performance is better on Z2. Maybe the lag is caused by Android 4.4.4?
Already tried full Reset, cleared RAM and cache without success.
Both phones get around 41000 on Antutu. Sometimes the Z3 only gets 38000

I also did a master reset. Only to have the same issues. :/
The phone can lag quite a lot. Such as when a call ends, going back to the desktop. The wallpaper loads slowly and the lock screen can lag too.
Also coming from an M8, I can confirm the Z3 is slower than the M8 going from one app to the next or after closing apps or ending calls etc, although the Z3 is perfectly smooth (Animations etc)
The battery life though... its the only thing holding me from returning it to be honest. Still have till next Monday to decide if i keep this or not....
Im on my third Z3, have not really noticed lag yet though.

I think most are waiting to update their builds until more of the bugs are fixed. Once everything gets sorted out you should see them revving back up.
Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised at all if development picks up once marshmallow is released. Either way I don't mind waiting for stable roms instead of them rushing out buggy ones. I am real eager for led notification and dt2w/dt2s.

Works without issue. I've had double tap for screen off since the day I got the Pure.

I use the paid version of Nova as well and have not noticed any issues with it. I also have the knock off feature set. I'm a long time Nova user and always replace the default launcher.

I only see 1 rom which has not been updated since first-nightly.
But yea it does seem to be taking little more then other phones but I think hashbang is very close. Almost VolTE works.

Me too. The only time I didn't use Nova exclusively was with HTC Sense.
Nova is very stable, doesn't drain much battery and you can do many things.
Do you have the same "knock" app as mentioned above?

Not only brightness, but gamma as well. But that's pixel exclusive. Google had the code hidden on 7.0, which few apps from play store been able to expose as well. Those apps used to work on my previous Nexus phones, but never worked on MZP. Now we have 7.1 and unfortunately Google has erased the code completely... Now we can't reveal it through any 3rd party apps anymore...but few OEMs have their own solution like One Plus, Moto Z2 Play
Is the android 7.1.1 really so much bigger? On android 7.0 I had 1.5GB free on system-partition. 800MB bigger? Why? Or is the update.zip in there and must be removed? Would like to understand that. Thanks!

But is it normal that the system partition is so much bigger? I mean, there is more in the partition as before. 800MB more. For what? Or I'm wrong and I remember wrong values from before? :silly: Or is it for the update.zip? But would it be so, then android would remove it after update, or? Can you check how it is on your phone, please Hope that I'm not switch off the usb plug to early
