Google Pixel Unboxing! - Google Pixel Guides, News, & Discussion

https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=pE6WdbwXx9M

This and some other recent pixel videos make me think Google is filtering search results artificially both on google search engine and on youtube. I have a google alert setup for anything related to pixel and nothing pops up. I search on youtube for pixel and these videos don't show up. Makes me think pretty seriously that google plays with search results.

Why wouldn't they want these unboxing videos to show up?

They all show up when I search. Just switch results to sort by upload date and boom there they all are

Shows up private for me?

Maybe she didn't want her makeup channel to be clogged with people asking her how she got her hands on a phone so early.

Youtube is a heavily monetized service, with LOTS of money and high viewed videos ranking highly and numerously in most searches.. I upload somewhat regularly, have some small but consistent viewership, and sometimes new videos I upload don't show up in nearly any search result I give, for even a week or more, and still it might be buried. I have to use my exact channel name or a unique artist tag in the title.
General search terms like "pixel unboxing 2016" will each spawn a myriad of results hiding EVERY new, non promoted video to 300 pages in. There is that much stuff on Youtube..
Just my 2 cents, at any rate.
I hope to unbox my Pixel sometime early next week!

Its kind of hard to navigate with small buttons but the quality is there. Streams wonderfully on hspa+ or 3g. Give it a go.
Thats what I hate about all these FREE TV/MOVIES links I run into, is ya gotta jump through so many hoops, watch, click thru so many ads, by the time you get to the meat and potatoes, hell, you could have driven home and watched whatever on your big screen, real TV. And yeah, even Zoomed out the links are still tiny and close together.
But then there's always the possibility i'm a moron and don't understand how to shortcut through all the crap.
EDIT> apologize for being a whiner, especially for allegedly free stuff.
im still waiting for a netflix app

Finished watching a whole movie from this site. Good find indeed. Thanks.
Been using QSS for a long time. It's probably the best free movie/tv site out there.

Megavideo no good unless you have a paid account. Otherwise it only lets you watch for a certain amount of time then you have to wait before you can resume watching. This site used to be the best until megavideo took it over. Try movie25.com or project tv. Both sites have the latest movies. Set your plugin to on demand when using these sites to block all the popups. If popup comes hit back button or close it to get to the video. Yes it does require going through a few hoops, but once your on these steeams are decent, no lag and offer different links. If you want live tv that will play over 25 premium USA channels in way better quality then MOBITV which only offers 5 or 6 live channels, then check out 1tvpc.com great site with easy access to favorite channels set on your Nexus one homescreen. TNT USA TBS DISCOVERY ESPN ESPN2 FX FOX NEWS MSNBC CNN FOOD CH. SPIKE TRUTV CBS NBC ABC COMEDY CENTRAL GOLF CHANNEL HISTORY CH. CARTOON NETWORK WEATHER CH. MTV CW DISNEY AND NIK....I've had membership for a few days now and all is well. They are legit and have good support when channels go down temporarily. They get them up in working quickly. All the above channels are live streams based on east coast time zone. Being in Cali, I get all the major network news in the morning 3 hours early. Win Win . 24.99 for first 6 months and 34.99 every 6 months after. MOBITV 10 bucks a month for way less and terrible quality.

Bleh, I decided to try this again, first two movies I tried were not available for X reason, next one I was redirected to login at some other site, (is this how its supposed to work? I honesty don't know) next movie redirected again. Fifth try seemed to work as advertised push green button movie plays, however it was choppy and constantly buffering.
I wish this worked as easily for me as it seems to for you, but i'm with the other guy, netflix needs to come up with an app, i'd gladly pay to push a button, watch a movie.
Having said that, whenever I see another link I haven't tried before, by golly i'll try again.
EDIT> NOT trying to sound like a whiner, just too much putzing around to watch a movie on a tiny screen. Nexus One 2.2 stock
Thanks good find

There you go. Best of the best for movie sites I found. I watched the entire movie Inception on my nexus at full screen using the second link. However it is available first link too just not full screen. and when I say full screen I mean entire screen used by clicking on full screen icon. Now say thank you.
LOL.
I streamed an episode of Mad Men over Megavideo yesterday with no problem. I was stunned how well it worked. Look for links to sites that use Megavideo -- many do.
PS: I also streamed a basketball game with no problem either. I forget what flash video player the site used, but the link was at ATDHE.net. Simply remarkable what this phone can do...

Yes sir. Adobe Flash 10.1 + Froyo = whole new ballgame. Now we have way more options. No need to get robbed by MOBITV anymore.
Thanks for the link works fine to me

my youtube evo gaming video

this video is old but when i made it you tube said that it violated some copy right junk, so the video would not be open to the public. well i noticed that i received a comment on my video, so apparently it now is available to the public i thought i'd share a link.
when i made this, i was very proud of myself, lol. now it may appear a bit dated but for those of us who love our evos sometimes we just cant get enough.

Impressive! I had wondered what the 3D gaming capabilities of this little device were, this video showcases them quite well. Now, about the 24+ hour battery life... what sort of usage are you getting out of it for that time? I'm just curious to know, I'm happy with my 12-18 hours, but that's with alot of idling.

[INFO] Transformer Quick Review

Hey, here's a short video review of the Transformer. I did it in a hurry, so it's not very polished, but should give you a good idea of what to expect from the machine.
I love my transformer and use it everyday for many purposes especially since I've gotten the dock and the new firmware has been released.

Good review!
Very cool review, thanks for that. Two questions:
1) Was your audio popping, with that first track you played? I don't think so, as it wasn't with the other tracks, but the pops didn't sound in time with the music.
2) Could you try playing a game of some description over MyNet? I'm curious to see how laggy it is. (I know there's a Portal 2 one, but that's not the best)
I thought the resolution was 1280x800?...

You are correct. I had notes on the side while I was filming and wrote down the wrong resolution. Sorry about that.

I haven't had any audio popping that I know of. I think maybe what you're hearing the video could be my dog's collar as she was around while I was filming.
I will try a game and post it when I return home tonight.
Excellent review. This ought to be on Youtube so more can see it and what this tablet can do.

Does anyone else really dislike unboxing videos?

I still search for and watch reviews of the Galaxy Note to see general opinion, but I completely skip unboxing videos now. They're 99% identical and there's almost nothing worse than a review by someone who has used the phone for oh..... 30 seconds.
I really don't understand why people keep making more and more unboxing videos when so many already exist.

I watched as many as I could find while I was waiting at my doorstep for FedEx to deliver my note. I have not watched one since. I would say there is a time and place for them.

Dont mind unboxing videos much. But what pisses me off is unboxing videos with preopened boxes. Whats the point if youve already opened the box before the video lol.
Side not, videos someone reviewing a product they dont own, showing pictures. That sh1t drives me crazy.
yes i agree with you. i like to see a good review starting with unboxing but there is no video like that. unbox it for 5 mintures review it for 1 minute this is how todays videos like
Well I do unboxing videoa of my own products. And I'm part of this unbox website in the Philippines. I own all devices because its a hobby of mine. Show some love!
I agree they are terrible
Can not stand them - I know I don't have to watch them, but seeing dozens of them in my search result really does piss me off. There should only be one for each major language spoken on earth. If you speak english and you can see there is another english unboxing video on U-tube, don't make another one!!!! I want to see the product, not "and here are the headphones, they're **** so I won't open them........ and here is some paper... hang on......................international warranty....... and here is a usb cable. This is the end where it plugs into the computer, the other end goes in here, um, where is it, er, not sure where it goes......................................................................Lets see what we have here...... wait a minute................................................. yeah, it's a battery. Oh I almost forgot................................. this is George, the postman who brought the package here this morning.............. If you're wondering why he's tied up and gagged, it's decause he didn't want to feature in this video................... but I said he had to, as I have to document everything, right from the beginning............. else it wouldn't be a proper unboxing video....................................................... Here we have the charger - looks cool - I like this charger............................... what does it say.............................................................................................................................................. can't read it............. Hope you enjoyed my product tour................ if you did......................... please subscribe........................ **Mmmph-urghhh**..... Shut it George".
Rant over.
Unboxing videos are a waste of time, maybe except the first one. Running few random games, benchmarks, interesting apps and talking briefly about some things that make this particular model stand out from the crowd is much more informative. But most ppl seem not to get it. I just wonder, who watches this crap, maybe they watch each others' unboxing videos???
I hate videos, period. I prefer reading an article about the gadget, backed up with a few screenshots.

Content Creation and Consumption : HTC Share

Recently I had an experience with making a short video for My Wedding Anniversary gift and decided to do that on the One.
So I collected good pictures of me, my wife and kid dating back to 2006 and put them in a single folder on the One.
As expected, it created a short Zoe. However, pictures were about 30 and Zoe is only a highlight so doesnt capture all. So I tried the HTC Share option and it also ended up limiting my selection to 10 Pictures only
I tried finding alternatives on the Play Store and remembered Magisto. Tried that but when time came to select photo/video it listed the thumbnails from ALL my gallery folders in one single list (6000+) ... I could not find any option to list folder-wise.
(BTW - All this was happening at 12:30 AM!!)
Frustrated, I ended up picking my iPad and creating a movie quickly on iMovie ... took me 10 mins tops.
However, when I put that movie back on the One, it was an altogether different experience than when it was played on the iPad ... IT BLEW ME AWAY !!! The sound and video just popped out and looked way better on the One.
Ended up with conclusion that Google needs to come out with its native apps which rival the ones Apple has, to close the gap that we have between Content Creation and Consumption on Android.
(I AM AN EQUAL LOVER OF APPLE AND GOOGLE PRODUCTS. DO NOT DARE FLAME ME )
Google made an app called Movie Studio but form some unknown by me reason it just disappeared out of nowhere. That app can alter your videos and add effects, sounds, trip videos and even crop it. And you could also merge pictures and create a video out of it. Tried installing on my HTC One it was working with merging photos but importing videos doesn't work
Why didnt you just record a video with HTC One?
Interesting thoughts, and to a large extent mirrors my thoughts on Zoe as well. I've made three videos so far and they've all been really great, but the one frustrating thing is where the video decides to loop a clip or photo badly, and you haven't really got any way of tweaking it other than playing around with which pics are including and hoping for the best. Still happy overall but hope HTC decide to expand the features with future updates! Nothing wrong with mixing iOS and Android, either - I've got an iPad 3 and have been very happy with it!
