Resolved: Mate 8 Bootloader - Unable to purchase credits from DC Unlocker - Mate 8 General

I am attempting to buy 4 credits for Mate 8 Bootlocker Unlock code using Pay Pal @ https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy.
I keep getting the following error.
The seller accepts encrypted website payments only. You cannot pay the seller through un-encrypted buttons. Please contact your seller for more detail
Curious to know how did you guys pay?
I have tried IE, Firefox.
I cannot use Real Time Bank Transfer since I live in India.
Credit & Debit Card payments use HiPay. Never heard of them, searched a bit and don't see anything positive for scam alert.
This is frustrating. I just got the new mobile, did some testing using Android Sensor Box, Phone Tester & Stability Test.
I intend to unlock bootloader immediately. I havent installed any apps yet. Waiting to unlock before I proceed. Don't really feel like waiting for 14 days!!

I had to use a verified PayPal account. I tried using an unverified account and got the same error.

So I need to complete all steps in Summary page of PayPal. For me I need to add bank Details. How strange that they need bank details to verify the account on top of other details!
So with the details provided, it will apparently take 3-4 Days!

Yeah it's pretty annoying, luckily I had a friend who had a fully verified account. Did you give HiPay a shot? I tried to use HiPay and it never worked with US cards.

Also try using direct PayPal balance, instead of a card through PayPal.

HiPay does not look safe. I could only find negative comments the few reviews that I came across. Never heard of it before. IMHO, Aint worth the risk.

PayPal does seem to be a hassle.
Damn them and their security I mean it's the internet !
What could ever go wrong.................

Well....Security is one thing, But needing Bank details to have a PayPal stamped "Verified" account is totally something else. Plus the account is already "verified" with mobile and EMail!
If PayPal says it is a Security issue, then it's is just an excuse. When we already have a card linked, why need Bank details. Bank details is simply unnecessary. So why do they need it? Why Indeed!!

Yes, it's clearly a manipulation. They want you to have a bank account attached so they can charge you and aren't subject to chargebacks in the event that the transaction (in which they were paid) is fraudulent, or if they fail to provide the service they were paid for. They prefer you to use a bank account because it limits *their* liability.
Account verification is just a clever way of hiding this policy so as to not offend their users as much. It's an indirection so they don't have to say "Sellers, we impose harsher policies on you if you do business with anybody that doesn't have a bank account connected." Instead, they just call it "verified".
What are these policy differences which discourage sellers from accepting my business? I'd be interested to know. And PayPal is damn sure not going to get access to my bank account.

Tried to remove my account, they are not allowing that. Once created can't remove.
I guess I will remove this account and recreate new one!!
Edit:
They have bank verification, they send 2 small amounts which I have to verify in the PayPal account. I intentionally failed verification by entering invalid amounts multiple times. My bank account was removed from their list.

Found an alternative!
Shot a mail to dc-unlocker. They have dealers all over the world. (However, I spent 2 hours to find a decent dealer which sells as many credits as we need without being overpriced). No reliable ones available in India. They were either over priced or had no DC Credits for sale.
See https://www.dc-unlocker.com/dealers
I used this dealer, located at Ukraine I think. Seemed pretty reliable.
https://www.imei-server.com/149-dc-unlocker
Have placed an order for 4 credits, total a bit less than 5$. Still awaiting for mail details.
However unlike mentioned in the website, It is not immediate. I shot an Email after waiting an hour. I got a pretty much immediate response, mentioning it will take a while and that my order is in process and that I should have by tomorrow. They even have a forum.

For a start, make sure you put the correct details in the from for the card.
Talk to your credit card company/bank and stop complaining that it's Google that are at fault. Your CC/bank company is stopping the transaction not Google.
Phone them up and talk to them. If they tell you Google is blocking it then the CC company/bank is lying to you.
Paypal isn't a bank and isn't subject to the same controls and regulations that a cc company or bank are. You also get zero protection, in law, when using paypal. Personally I'd stay well away from them.

Exactly where in my post did I blame Google for denied transactions?
I merely stated facts, and I am also quite capable of fillling in a form or I wouldnt have been running my own business for the last 6 years!
The fact is, that it's not as simple as it should be to buy the phone, I buy goods of far greater value than a phone, and never have any problems, so why the problems buying from Google?
I thought this was a dicussion forum, just wonder how many other people have had these problems buying one?
And yes, I have talked to the bank, and its a security check that flagged up, there must be a reason that transactions are blocked and or checked for Google purchases, maybe its because its the States, most of my buying is done in europe.......
Sorry if i seem to come over a little terse, but then there isnt always too much context within written words....
I can tell you that when I bought my phone, my bank held up the transaction until I called them to let them know I was spending over $300 on a phone. You may want to do the same thing.

It is simple to buy, you just have to talk to your bank. Once of the reasons is that Google don't use 3D secure which (somewhat) guarantees that the user of the card is the owner of it. CC/Banks like 3D Secure because it passes blame (liability) to the customer (see T&C's for 3D Secure/VBV signup for your card). 3D Secure/VBV is, in truth, total crap. IIRC this was born out in a recent paper from Cambridge University in the UK that did analysis and testing on it. One card company even asked for a NEW password if you got the old one wrong 3 times!

It is but it's not a problem solely associated with buying a nexus one. It applies to all online purchasing.

It's highly likely that this is the case. We get horrendous issues with Belgian cc/banks that insist on blocking client orders and then claiming it's us that is doing the blocking.

Maybe I was being over sensitive on the issue, I have to deal with cc/banks lying to their customers all the time at work.

I don't know if it would make a difference, but you can get a debit card for your Paypal account and use it.
Stop using other's people cards. =P
Really though, my order got held up for not having a phone number in the ship to information. Googles checkout/customer service for the nexus has been pretty sub par.
And I've been running a business for 8 years.
eeee by gum chuck, finally managed to get an order sent, checked the shipping info, and they managed to get the postcode totally wrong, with half the address missing.
Phoned DHL, and they were fantastic, changed all the details and made sure they were correct, she told me that they have shed loads of phone calls reference orders from google with incorrect shipping info, even though the correct details were supplied by the customers, so all I will say if you're buying one, is to check and double check every step of the process.
Man I hope the phone is worth it when it comes, i'm sure it will be, quite looking forward to it..........
Sounds to me if it were a "Google" problem, the same bad address info problem would be apparent with FedEx shipments, but only time I've heard/read about shipping issues is regarding international DHL.

DavinciTeam-Xperia ARC,Neo,PLAY SIM unlock for cheap. unlocks boot loader also

Mates great news.
DavinciTeam also introduced SIM unlocking service for xperia Neo,Arc,Play phones.
i successfully unlocked my Xperia Neo with this service
i purchased 50 credits(min allowed) for 30$ directly from the website and unlocked with the client software
this is tespoint unlocking service(dont panic its very easy)
the good thing is it unlocks our boot loader as well
for Sim-unlock just cost 10 credits only.
since the main website doesnot have the proper tutorial, i'm writing the brief steps to help the people facing problems.
steps:
1. purchase the credits(50) from davinci website
2.pay using paypal service
3.get the customer ID, username and passwprd
4.log in using user id and password in the main website
5. go to your user area and enable your account
6.Download the latest client SW from the website
7.start the client and enter your customer ID and password
8.Once the client starts connect the cable to the phone by pressing back key(flash mode)
9. client will detect it and will show the available services
10.select the unlocking service(10 credits) and press go
NOW your attention is really required
client will ask for test point link, here remove the cable and battery from phone
check tutorial section video for the test point in the website.
11.connect the test point with the ground(-ve), sim card metal is ground so u can connect with that.
12.hold the test point link and attach the usb cable to the phone, wait for 5 sec and the press OK on the client
13. within few sec client will ask to remove the test point link. just remove the test point link alone.. thats all the tool will finish the rest
14. when prompted as Done!! remove the cable
Now ur phones sim-lock and boot loader should be unlocked.
thanks for reading this.. i followed the above method, since the tutorial provided in the davinci website lacks informations so i took opportunity to write here.
i hope it helps..
why pay $30 when I can pay just $20 on omnius and its quick as well.
Grate!
I ask a stupid question, is it could fix the brick that down grade ?
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Though we pay 30 dollars we can unlock 5 phones. We get 50credits but the service only needs 10 credits. Thats pretty cheap rite??
@shryau. I'm not sure about it. Sorry. Can u explain in detail??
is it available for xperia arc s?
Now SIM UNLOCk xperia play via DavinciTeam costs 50 credits for 30$, not 10 credits.

Hi guys - this is Chris from DavinciTeam/SIMLOCK. Just a note that we have lowered to price of all SE unlocking to $20 USD until December 1 when purchased via SIMLOCK.com and we're working on potentially discounted pricing on a permanent basis in the new year.
NOTE: I'm just looking to get in on the action here, not spam in any way, and so omitted a link above.
On an unrelated note, I've been a long-time lurker here at XDA and just rooted a Nook Color last night using the tools supplied by devs here so cheers for that

why you have to pay credits when there is setool1?
I had a horrible experience with Davinci Team back with my K850i. They advertised a service they didn't provide and refused to refund even after I linked the howardforums thread with others who were pissed off. I had to escalate through paypal, which did not want to offer me purchase protection since I received my "credits" (which were worthless). After calling multiple times I finally received a refund.
To top off the above, davinciteam banned my account on their site which wasn't a big deal, but continued to spam me with their newsletters for years via email. I was not able to opt-out of the system because they do not provide a unsubscribe link (in violation of the CAN-SPAM act). After multiple attempts to contact via email I finally received a nasty response and they finally stopped the newsletters coming in.
I'd pay extra money to any service to not deal with davinciteam. Aside from paypal it was one of my worst online merchant experiences. Be warned.
Does it work for SE Arc S (LT18)?

Hi Joe Ouch, I'm sorry to hear all of that, though I do need to clarify a few things:
1. We have offered full services for the K850 for many years, since only a couple of months following its release, and so there was never a time that we couldn't have offered flashing/debranding or SIM unlocking services.
2. We do have a no-refund policy where credit purchases are concerned - this isn't meant to throw anyone off but is simply meant as protection for us and is in accordance with PayPal's own policy regarding "intangible goods." This is why credits are universal and non-expiring - no one is ever out of pocket.
3. I personally compile our newsletter and have since its inception and the instruction to unsubscribe has always been in the footer - not a direct link but rather instructions to opt-out via the customer area. This same customer area functionality has always existed and still does.
Now, on the flipside of things: our newsletter opt-out options suck and a single-click solution should have been in place years ago - I am actively working on this now. Also no one (I hope it wasn't me!) should have taken anything but a lovely tone with you in correspondence so let me apologize if you experienced anything but.
Give me a shout directly at [email protected] - I'd be happy to offer a free service if it would help to patch things over and convince you to give our services another chance

Thats why its best if you think you are going to be ripped off by Paypal / the people who deal with it then make sure that you use a credit card then if people try to defraud you then you can just cancel the paypal direct debit and instigate a chargeback. (Its your legal right far too many scammers on the internet these days and its sad that its necessary - but alas it is).
Well, I've used Davinciteam several times without a single issue and haven't had any issues with PayPal either (but with other PayPal users).
One bad experience doesn't a comprehensive evaluation make.

1. Apologies, upon checking my records it was actually my shortly lived TM506 and not the K850i. This dispute was back at the end of september 2008. Paypal likes to destroy records of comments, I have the two disputes I made and the transactions applicable, as well as the confirmation number from davinci. Here's probably the thread I linked from howardforums at the time, btw it's not me reporting, others got the cold shoulder from you guys on this issue. http://www.howardforums.com/printthread.php?t=1436442&pp=30
2. One of the things I *do* have still is the emails confirming my account was banned from davinci. Assuming you have the ability to ban or revoke credits and a way to track them, there is no reason why you should not be able to refund a payment for a misadvertised service. It's poor business practice. Even paypal realized this and had a live person review and reverse the transaction based on the evidence I provided (and against their written policy).
3. Thanks for acknowledging that the newsletter opt-outs suck. It took me two years to get off the list. I made two simple one line "unsubscribe" attempts on 10/31/08 and 3/3/09 . I also tried the link in the newsletter to access my account (which was inaccessible due to ban). Eventually on 6/29/10 I emailed this:
> Message :
>
> Please stop sending me emails. I did not have a good experience with your
> service and would not like to be reminded of it every day. I cannot
> unsubscribe since my account is blocked from changing settings.
Fairly promptly I received the reply:
Hello,
no problem, we had also not such good expirience with you!
Thanks,
Tim

Again, I'd like to remind you, I made repeated requests to stop receiving solicitation over the course of TWO YEARS, I think enough was enough.

That's just the thing, they are supposed to be a reputable company, I expected a civil response and not having to escalate through paypal. It was clearly their mistake and I'm not the only victim. As my record and the thread linked show, they did not handle the situation professionally. As for the advice of using a credit card through paypal, I do so knowing it's a one shot deal. You agree in the paypal policy to not chargeback merchants through CC. If you do end up in a bad situation like this and issue a chargeback, you can expect to lose your paypal account for life.
The only thing I like about that reply is that my name isn't the one signed under that email It looks like you ended up with one of our developers there; suffice it to say that their bedside manner may need some work!
At the time of that problem I was playing a less-pronounced role with decision-making and so I'll have to refrain from trying to explain and skip directly to the apology. We definitely don't make a habit of ignoring any problem.
As I said above, I'd be happy to make it up to you with a free process in the name of renewing your faith in our product and people - give me a shout any time

I don't know if this is allowed, so if It's not mod please remove.
American Express is currently running a promotion to attract more customers to their Serve service.
Serve is essentially American Express' version of PayPal. It's becoming popular fairly rapidly especially here on the XDA marketplace.
If you sign up before March 31st you get 10$ just for signing up. They'll send you a card in the mail which you can use at any location that accepts American Express cards.
You can sign up at http://www.serve.com/
You can also PM me your e-mail if you wanted to be really nice and let me get a referral commission
Just saying, anyone 18+ in the US should sign up for this. It's a FREE 10 bucks no strings attatched.
They asked me to send them copies of my social security and other documents so I just left it alone
When did they ask that?
I signed up and the most info they asked was last 4 digits of SSN.
Besides, its not like this is some shady company, its amex! Possibly the best card company in the US

Ordering from Play Store outside US

So, here's the thing. I have a friend living in the US who is coming over to India in about 10 days.
I want to order a Nexus 7 that is delivered to his house & he will bring it with him when he comes here.
I figured out how to access the US Play Store [using a proxy that spoofs an US IP].
Now, can I use my Indian credit card and enter a US billing address ?
Are there any other steps I need to take so that the order goes through ?
If anyone has placed an order or has any experience doing such stuff, I would really appreciate you input.

Can your "friend" not buy it for you using his credit card and you pay him out later? He can pick it up at any retail store stocking N7.
Most CC cards need the billing address to be specified on the file, I suspect transaction with your own CC will be denied.
Besides, have you been reading the forums yet? All the 12-13 manufacturing defects this tablet has?
What will you do if you get a lemon?

Hi there,
I'm a reseller in other country. My customers want to buy google nexus so much that I have to find a way to order it from play store.
I will ship the items to a cargo service in US and then export them to my country.
In the purchase step, I added my international VISA card with billing address is the cargo service address and the shipping address is the same. I did it well and ordered about 200 items last month. However prior last three days, google immediately canceled my all orders if I place new order. I don't know whether google implement their policy about using the US-credit card payment policy more strictly.

You can use your CC, with the REAL billing address. Although from what I've learned, it is possible that your account might be suspended.
But DON'T PANIC.... If it does, write to customer service and provide your ID and CC scans to prove you are not fraud...
There are cases here in China that passed through.
Good luck.

I encountered the same problem recently. Called Google Play support and apparently there is some CC processing issue since Sunday and was still working on it which is consistent with your experience. So just have to wait I suppose. Unless of course the CS is misleading us although he has no reason to do so.
Anyone successfully ordered devices from Google in the last 3 days ?

OMG, you 're so nice. I think I'm the only one meet this problem ( . I'm very frustrated 5 days because I cannot place any order on google play store. Do you have skype or email that we can contact and share information about ordering bulk google nexus 7?
I created many gmail account to tried place order with 3 different international debit cards but there's no positive result. I received some emails with the same content:
Hi there,
Thanks for your patience in this matter, my name is Paul E. and I will
help you sort this out today. I really do know how frustrating these
things can be.
According to our records, this purchase was cancelled by our system for
security reasons, but this appears to have been an isolated case that has
since been resolved. I've taken a look at your account and confirmed that
you have not been charged.
Though your order has been cancelled, you may notice activity on your
credit/debit card for this order. Please be assured that the amount on
your card statement is an authorization, not an actual charge, and the
authorization will automatically be removed from your account within 1-14
business days, depending on your bank.
Though we're not able to re-instate cancelled orders, you're welcome to
try your purchase again. If your orders continue to be automatically
cancelled, please do write back and let me know so that we can alert the
proper team and ensure that your orders go through properly.
I hope that answers your question, but feel free to ask any other Google
Play questions you have. I'd also like to let you know to expect a short
anonymous survey about your support experience in the next few days; we
keep trying to find ways to improve our customer support, and your
feedback will definitely help.
Best,
Paul E.
The Google Play Support Team

More problems ordering apps
Hi,
Ok, so hopefully someone has a suggestion.
I've been able to order apps just fine using Proxmate extension on Chrome.
The other day it stopped working.
I had my programmer create a proxy to try and get through, and still no luck ordering.
One possible problem is I tried probably 20+ times to order as we were trying to debug the process.
Now, I have an employee of mine in the US loglin to my account, and try to place an order for an app and it gives her the same error - that the order could not be placed for a technical reason.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get around this? I can log in just fine, but can not purchase. If they suspended my account, I would imagine that I would not be able to even login - but that's just a guess.
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Getting the Nexus 6P outside US?

I have been trying for about a week now to get the 6P but the play store wont allow different credit card addresses / different billing address, so I can't get it from there, Huwawei's website has a really long wait time :/, ebay/amazon is super overpriced, is there any other website that does not use the verification that google uses and the price isnt inflated through the roof? I really need a new phone and the Nexus 6P is the best thing ive seen in a while!
Help would be much much appreciated.
Yeah try locally.
Yeah, we don't get nexus devices here and haven't for years, it's terrible . Anything else maybe =/ ?

I had no choice but buy from eBay and pay some import taxes. A little bit too expensive, but totally worth it. Greetings from Mexico.
You can try UsGoBuy.com forwarding service. They will give you a valid US address in Oregon, which is a sales tax free state.
Then use that address as a billing address in your Google wallet. You can add any international credit card there as long as you have a valid US address.
Use a VPN service from US and use incognito tab in chrome, so that Google thinks that you are really inside of the US. Order you phone, and wait until the forwarder sends it to you.
If it doesn't work, try setting up a new Google account and make sure that you use vpn and incognito tab.
I personally completed all the above steps successfully, and now I am waiting to get the amount to actually buy the device.

Or you can use fishisfast and they will buy on your behalf for a very small fee
Viabox service would buy it for you for free. But I found out that usgobuy is more reliable

Thanks for your help, I passed all the steps and could order but when I hit Place order it said the order was "high risk" and that it was declined. Any ideas on this?
Didn't get to that point yet. Sorry

Honestly, it was too much work or maybe I'm just too lazy, it was cumbersome. It came out at around 597 $ (64 GB Aluminum) because of tax, and it would not accept my payment, I went on ebay and found a good seller who is selling it unopened and brand new at 620$, I didn't mind the extra 23 $, and finished the order in a few seconds, seriously, I hope Google gets it **** together with this payment thing, here's the link for anyone interested :

Thanks again for all your help

If you get high risk its because your account it new. Contact the Google Store support, tell them you got the error and they can release you from the high risk tag.
I have no idea what they ask for, but I some some people did it and it worked.

Also keep in mind that ordering from the US will get you the H1511 model which has bands targeted for North American carriers. Before the 6P was available locally in my country I was also thinking the same thing but found out that the H1511 model doesn't have the LTE bands my carrier uses. You can't buy the international H1512 model from the US Google Play Store and Huawei store unfortunately.

I bought it from mercadolibre
I bought it from mercadolibre from mexico, it cost about 2k more than google store, but at least I have it, it's a really cool phone and everythign is working as expected.
