Note 7 exchange? - AT&T Note 7 Questions & Answers

Do you think AT&T would let you pre-order a LG 20 to replace the Note 7?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using XDA-Developers mobile app

Dont see why they wouldn't
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk

Let us know how you get on with that

I just got off of chat with AT&T and they said to wait until the LG V20 is in store then I can exchange it for the Note 7. Still on the fence about it.

I'm getting my upgrade tomorrow, moving from a Galaxy S 3 to the G5, it's a huge step and I admit I'll miss my root access, but I think the phone is awesome enough that it warrants having to wait on a root to be made for it.

I'm using adguard which blocks ads within all apps and that was pretty much my main reason to root. Yeah it cost 10 bucks for the app after a 30 day trial but what's 10 bucks? And this device is so lighting quick I don't feel the need to overclock like I used to and battery life is a non issue having 3 batteries. I don't know. With all that in this device's favor I just don't fee the need for root.

Im glad you dont feel the need for root...but for paying $600 it should be our option...

Looks like we shall be getting a new update soon. LG has posted the source code for ZV4. In the past Sprint has started pushing out updates on Mondays or Fridays.

Just a thought, but what if we build the update from source as "userdebug," adb sideload it, an then use "adb disable-dm-veity"?

Looks like LG has confirmed it.
I read in one of AT&T update threads and a couple users had to actually have their Sim cards replaced then the update worked. Hopefully this isn't the case with ours.

They do it in stages, so we all wont get it at the same time. can take 2 to 3 weeks for everyone to get it. :/ kinda annoying.

Galaxy s6 vs nexus 5x

Please give me opinion for this phones i want to buy new phone.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA-Developers mobile app
of course go for Galaxy S6 because of main reasons of Camera & Ram
Camera of s6 is better than nexus
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I got both. And to be honest I prefer the S6 over the Nexus 5X , the camera is better , the screen as well , everything's better on the S6 ,except that I'm not a big fan of Touchwiz
Is performance better on s6 ?
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Like I have said before, the hardware is only as good as the software. The 5x will get Android N and whatever comes after and the S6 may not.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
S6 for sure will get android N but nothing more i don't want to buy nexus5x because camera dont have OIS and i think s6 have better performance and the display is the best in the world on s6.
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA-Developers mobile app
The only nexus 5x better than s6 is custom rom support. That's it. Else bull****
Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Its not really fair to compare the Nexus 5X with the Galaxy S6. Nexus 6P would be a better comparison point.
biggest advantage of the 5X is lower price. I would get the 5x as a temporary phone if my S6 died. I'd use it for a few months until I decide on a permanent phone, then sell it or hand it down to a family member.
S6 all the way [emoji1] and soon with the new vulkan api. The 5x won't be able to run the next gen OpenGL.

Are you sure s6 will get vulcan (API) ?
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'm sure, along with the Android N update! I've read that any GPU that supports OpenGL ES 3.1 is capable of running Vulkan.
EDIT: The 5x gonna be able to run Vulkan too, my bad [emoji26] because it supports OpenGL ES 3.1 but the old nexus 5 won't. But still, I would go with the s6.

Bad choice. The S6 is soon to be a flagship that's 4 generations old.
The 5x will keeps getting updates and be as fast as the first day you bought it because of stock Android. All the horsepower in the world won't save the S6 with any new updates if it even gets them!
