Install systemless root, install Magisk and install systemless Xposed. You can't use the system version. It will go bootloop.

Do I still need the systemless root? I was told in a different thread that if I do the latest SuperSU it was already Systemless.
Also does this require that Magisk thing?

I don't think i understand what you mean, you can use any root. But for "normal" root you need to patch the kernel.

I flashed TWRP, latest SuperSU, now I did the latest Xposed.apk and v86. my phone is stuck on a screen that just says honor.
any ideas where i went wrong
EDIT: I guess first boot up just takes a while after installing it, rebooting phone to test again

My personal experience is some modules don't work well with Emui and even lag and/or increase battery consumption of the phone. Hiding root or greenify, for example, are a hit or miss.

We need to play with the kernel. If it was a matter of customization, applying the root patches first would have worked. As of now that hasn't worked either.

mcaserg @ 4PDA makes what I believe is the best Note 4 Kernel...
Google "4pda.ru ultimate kernel", it's topic 620217
Use chrome or something to translate the page and register...
If you get a captcha, use the google translate app on your note 4 and copy down the characters as best you can using your S-Pen...
Once you're in, there is an option to disable captcha completely for your account...
I've been using Ultimate Kernel v51 rooted on stock official 5.1.1 COH4.
You just have to install the kernel via recovery (I use TWRP), and when you tap reboot system, TWRP recovery says "SU binary not detected, install?", tap "yes"... Once booted open SuperSU and update the SU Binary.
I've attached v51, for future releases go to 4PDA... (I wont keep this thread or post updated, sorry.)
If this helped, don't hesitate to click thanks.

[Q] Xposed

As we don't have a proper custom recovery yet, I was thinking of flashing xposed through FlashFire from Chainfire, I have tried it with my N5 and it worked.
I'm willing to buy this phone, but can't really live without xposed, so if anyone want to give a try. I think it should work like in mine N5
Edit: I take no responsibilities if something goes wrong and you end up into a bootloop

Which Xposed version did you use? Link?
Thanks in advance!
I used version 72, arm, SDK 22. Looks like they're up to 74 now so I'll be updating momentarily. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58828974
Just wanted to update this thread.
I can confirm that version 74 listed above works fine.
Further I used one of the Xposed modules to unlink all the volumes so they are all separate. One of my biggest pet peeves.
That also works perfectly.
I can confirm that latest xposed v75 SDK 22 arm, from the above thread is working.

Basically, systemless root will not modify your system partition while still giving you full root privileges. As a result, your phone is still capable of receiving OTAs. As for me, I only use it so I can toggle the root access of my apps.
In my phone, systemless Xposed(Vr.86.2) is not working well.
After I put it in, my phone sometimes reboots arbitrarily.
Do I have any solutions?
Thank you.

Magisk Root Redmi note 4

i m just posting this i m not responsible if anything happens to your mobile.
mostly if boot looped use magisk uninstaller
Confirmed working of magisk < v13.X on Redmi note 4 (all variants)
"Everything" green ticks. yes everthing
Safetynet passed so you can enjoy all the apps from playstore
Thread,Downloads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Instructions:
>Unistall any older versions of magisk by using latest magisk uninstaller
>Download latest magisk zip and flash it (no wipes needed)
>Install latest Magisk manager
>Open magisk manager and in sidebar go to settings
>turn on Magisk hide
>come back to main menu and test safetynet check
>Voila everything green tick
>enjoy your all your apps with root
Just remember to use latest Magisk manager
For MIUI:
use lazyflasher or else there is bootloop issue
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767111293
if safetynet doesn't work use this module to solve the issue(mostly for MIUI)
