Think we get a 7.1 dev preview tomorrow? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Pixel phones will be announced tomorrow and will be the first devices to ship with Android 7.1 out of the box. I'm thinking/hoping maybe we get a dev preview of 7.1 for the 6p tomorrow. It has been said the 6p will get it through the beta program will tomorrow be the day? What do you guys think? This thread is pure speculation just for the sake of speculation I'm bored lol.

may be

Preview? Why? I want the real deal.

I'm still opt-in for beta)

Toss a coin...

At this rate we'll have Android 7.1 before the Nexus 6 gets Android 7.0.

Nexus 6 7.0 is out now, as the poster I quoted made comment to not being out yet.

Would it be possible for anyone of those 6000 people who got a Galaxy Nexus today to dump the rom or something by today?

So now that it's official that the Nexus S is getting Jelly Bean, here are my guesses for release:
I9020T/I9023 - Mid july as stated
I9020A - Early August once it's been verified there are no problems with the OTA.
D720 - Giving Sprint two months to test Google's ROM and approve it for release, I say mid September
M200 - Total wild card, but I'd be shocked if it was before October.
Discuss.

Wrong. That's the SDK dump. He was asking for a dump of the actual Jelly Bean Galaxy Nexus OTA that was issued to some people at Google I/O today.
They are not receiving their Galaxy Nexi until 4 PM PST (7 PM EST)
Wow Nexus S get Jelly Bean!!
This device is amazing!
Still the best Nexus device IMHO.
I'm sure the URL of tonight's OTA for the Galaxy Nexus can be grabbed by logcat and then downloaded. Then it's just a case of waiting for it to be ported to the Nexus S.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

No you're right. ICS will have had the smallest life ever. What, like 6 months? :|
I'm fairly certain we're gonna see a port of the gnex rom or of the SDK before the official release.
Honestly, I can't wait! Although, I'm gonna miss Nyandroid in Settings->Info...

I still can't believe Nexus S is cheaper than Galaxy S at dealers in my country. Two of my friends got Galaxy S, while I got Nexus S for lower price, and I'm the one laughing in their faces now.
Really, Nexus S is now probably the official king of it's competitors. Pure Google, first in update line, hardware is still not outdated, and it's cheap!
Best phone I could have ever bought.
My take on things.
Cyanogenmod devs are at the conference am I right? Also they are giving out phones with 4.1 beta software. I wouldnt be surprised if we had 4.1 image on our phones by friday

Android 5.0 Lollipop

So it's official now: http://www.android.com/versions/lollipop-5-0/
Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 revealed as well: http://www.theverge.com/2014/10/15/6982145/nexus-6-announced-google-specs-availability
It's fappening.

Nice. Although I'm flashing back to 4.4.4 official and waiting until more apps convert over to ART.
This was posted in the N4 Lollipop thread. UHG Really starting to regret getting a Deb.
"Android Lollipop will ship on Google’s newest Nexus devices, the Motorola-built Nexus 6 smartphone and HTC-built Nexus 9 tablet, both of which were introduced Wednesday. Google said Lollipop will hit the older Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablets on Nov. 3 in an over-the-air update. Lollipop will also hit the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones, as well as the LTE version of the Nexus 7, later in November."
As for phone... Yeah not gonna get the N6.Too expensive and it would be like using my N7 as a phone. I'll just wait for Project Ara. Think that'll be my next phone.
It was supposed to be "lemon pie"
Not lollipop! All the hints were to "lime pie" or "lemon pie"

Do I have to wipe my device again before flashing Android 5.0? Any suggestions for backup and restore apps after flashing?

Yea that is weird. I noticed that also. I'd say it would be too confusing but they list the 6 and 5... why not a 7 and 9?

That would be a real shame if they stop support the new Nexus 7
They already said the Nexus 7's would be getting an official update for Android L. So no need to worry.
We know that bro....just curious!! ^_^
What will happen after lollipop? Will we get that update too?
Nevermind...
I hate that the new Nexus tablet is so expensive. For $100 more than what the Nexus 9 will start at, I got a 10" Windows 8 tablet (full Windows, not that RT crap) with a real keyboard dock (Acer Iconia w510, for anyone who cares). I'll be keeping my Nexus 7. I will pick up the Nexus 6 on contract, though.

The least enjoyable part of being an Android owner.
Google you so crazy.
I like the dartboard theory. "5, old 7, 10 ok post em."
Well, some "older" devices are maybe easier to adjust to a new Android version. Drink your coffe, be patient
I have multiple Nexus devices. The memory leak is still present in lollipop 5.1. It's said Google has identified the problem and will be releasing an update shortly. I don't mind waiting if it will include this fix.

Hows does this equal fake?
"many consumers were wondering when will the OTA rollout being for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P, and have been sending tweets over to Google’s official Nexus Twitter handle for a while now. Well, the company responded quite recently, by stating that Android 7.0 Nougat OTA update is finally rolling out to both the Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P handsets."
I don't follow the official Nexus Twitter so I don't know did they say this or not?

Till oneplus 6 comes, OP5 will be updated regularly.
After op6 release, the updates will be slowed down.
I'm aware of it. But will it get android o only or its planned for additional update? I plan to buy phone for longer time and I want to choose phone which will have long support.
