Till oneplus 6 comes, OP5 will be updated regularly.
After op6 release, the updates will be slowed down.

I'm aware of it. But will it get android o only or its planned for additional update? I plan to buy phone for longer time and I want to choose phone which will have long support.

Of course it's going to get Android O...

As I wrote before I know that it will get android o. Anyone know about further support. After android o?
Sent from my SM-G9200 using Tapatalk

Hopefully there would be one more update after O
Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk

So a quick Google would have got your answer , support is said to be for a minimum of 18 months. No one can say how long it Will be till a new version of Android hits but it's likely a year

It's been said before that they wouldn't be sold in stores, take that for what ever you think. However people are still waiting on their pre orders so I highly doubt it.

Did some more research and what you said is true. I just wish I can finance their phone without having to join project fi since I'm already with T-Mobile... And I know I can finance it through huawei but there's an interest, I might have to do more research.
Why don't you call t-mobile yourself and find out?

I called T-Mobile and I was told that they are not carrying Nexus 6p or Nexus 5x anytime soon and I can purchase it from Google. I even left a comment on T-Mobile official YouTube and was told same story.
By the time 820 devices are out they'll be an 830 or 850 ..... You'll never have the newest

Speed of innovation is faster than Evolution of devices these days. Chip manufacturers are always a step ahead of the Device Manufacturers, its like a Cat & Mouse race.

I bought my phone trough the Orange store. South Africa. I'm assuming I have a EU version as I haven't received anything yet. So I guess everyone at Motorola is on holiday. We'll just have to wait.
Best not to be the first adopter, frankly. I'm happy to wait a bit.

Been checking everywhere for any news on MM but it just seems to be a huge information void regarding UK updates. Starting to feel like MXP is a bit of an afterthought in Motorola's product lineup.

Or back of the que? I have a French version (in UK) which is dual sim model and based on the Asia version. I was able to download the OTA update (India) and update my Play X to MM.
All good really. Adaptive Storage seems to work for me and a bonus having the 16gb model. Only small issue is I use Opera browser and it lags a little until the page actually fully loads and then a little more it loses the lag.
I'm sure MM will come soon but guess moto/Lenovo have been on holiday possibly!
Looking forward to it with bated breath Richy, not confident enough to flash it although I probably could lol, just can't afford to replace my phone if I brick it. Gonna have to practice on old HTC wildfire s lol
I signed up for the resting program on the moto site here in the UK. Not received any soak test stuff.
Lots of variables I guess, might not have been in time or selected.
I'd imagine as other countries are getting the ota they may not have needed a UK soak test?
Looking forward to receiving the update.
Can then get more games on the xplay!
I am on Soak Test (Germany)

*Speculation/Rumor* 6.0 MM for Z5 Update

Hi Everyone,
Today I was notified of 2 Play Store app updates that might mean that 6.0 is literally coming very very soon. The Sony Lifelog app got a new material design as well as a new app icon. Smart Connect also got an Android M compatibility update. Since it was rumored that they had a kernel build compiled back in January, that just means that they needed to fix some stock app issues. It's wishful thinking but I think we can look forward to the coming days/weeks when this finally releases OTA.

I reckon we'll be lucky to see it a month after everyone else. We have a different different software version to the international model as far as I know.

I saw over on Android Central, that a Sony Twitter mentioned March 7th as the 'official' release of MM for eligible Xperia devices. Assuming this is for international versions, and how long it took for the previous update to arrive, it could a mid March before we see anything

Xperia Z5/Z5C/Z5P WILL have a huge UI change when 6.0 is available AND Support for these models will stop when the THIRD generation of Xperia XX is announced.

I just have 1 question. The new UI will same with Xperia X UI ?
The Xperia UI seems not big change, Settings menu, Notification bar,... similar Lollipop. I hope this is a beta version. A bit disappointed
Z5P come with marshmallow adoptable storage, as samsung opt this out for their marshmallow.

Are Sony changing their release cycle, so that this will mean another 2 years of support for the Z series, or will we be left EOL by next January/February?

will it be straight to 6.0.1 or just updating to 6.0?
Will it improve the camera performance? i.e. less delay between shots, better image processing?...

Where is our MM

Didn't Samsung say February for marshmallow on our Note 4? Or was it March? Either way no update what so ever this month?
It was scheduled for this month.
Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
This mo? Don't think so. The note 5, international mind you, has only just started seeing it as of yesterday so I wouldn't expect ours until towards the end of the second quarter at least. Besides you'll see an rdf pop up 1st once they actually start working on it then many more rdf versions until a final release. I'm dropping this phone the day the new g5 drops anyway. It's just uneceptible the g4 has marshmallow since Christmas along with practicality every other manufacturer except Samsung. The g5 looks to be a killer device too. Hope they really sink Samsungs ship with it honestly. Especially after the update fiasco for the note 4 last year. Typical Samsung fashion though. Rant over.

Well the g5 was released and I gotta say I'm disappointed. 5.3 in screen size? That'll just be hard to use coming from this.

+1
The G5 is a two-lens modular multi-featured camera pretending to be a smart phone.
If I want a modular high-quality digital camera, I'll buy one with a couple lenses I can switch between.
I want a smart phone, and I'm happy if it has nice camera features.
Each to his/her own, though.

Perhaps the release from Samsung was scheduled for this month - but Samsung releases to the carriers, at least in Sprint's case, and then the carrier does their thing with it until they deem it ready to release to their customers. Samsung doesn't set Sprint's schedule

International version would probably get it 1st before anyone then if that goes ok then they would release it to the carriers. At least that's how it usually goes. I've been keeping a close eye on sammobile for that to happen so hopefully soon.

Not necessarily - just because Sprint releases later than the international carriers doesn't mean that they receive it later. It's generally bad practice to openly treat some of your customers as guinea pigs for the benefit of the others, so it's more likely that Samsung sends out its generic rom to all carriers at the same time and Sprint just takes longer to add their proprietary bloat. It's also likely that Sprint waits to announce the upcoming version for the same reason xda devs don't do ETAs - because too many people take "estimate" to mean "promise" and get upset when delays happen.

It doesn't matter - either way brings us back to my original point, that Samsung's release dates are meaningless to us. We could get our update the next day, a year later, or never, with equal probability. The only useful deduction we can make from their release date is that we definitely *won't* see our update before that date, which really isn't very useful at all

Annoying permissions popups? No thanks.
Doze? Don't need it. I set my phone down on a wireless charger. It doesn't drain slowly, it charges.
Maybe after 8 months or more when they iron out all the issues, I'll consider it. By then, I'll probably have a new phone.
I hope to get the s7 edge sometime soon
