[HELP] Complete Brick - ZenFone 2 General

Hello everyone, my zenfone 2 (ZE551ML), is completely dead.
I had a brick, so I almost brought it back to life with this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-brick-soft-hard-bricked-zenfone-2-t3284256
All seemed to work, but on the final step, when I had to reboot after flashing system, the device doesn't boot.
The bad fact is that now it doesn't vibrate when I hold the power button, o power+vol up, or plug in charging.
No signs of life at all.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advice, and sorry if there are grammatical errors.

Leave connected to PC overnight , every now and then , press vol up and power till 2 vibrates and release power.
You should be fine , you probably have flat bat

i bricked my device few days ago also.
with that iSoC thing pushed a temporary bootloader into the phone. and flash twice of the asus raw file (1st time will detect invalid serial no# and it won't be able to finish, you have to stop it yourself ignore the warning) 2nd time the correct serial no# can be detected and the flash can be finished. then you're good to go.
i think you got a 0% battery only

Find sumit007s guide to unbrick if fastboot is not working then you need to flash some files through xtf tool or something like that i don't remember the exact tool name but u'll find it on the sumit007s thread go for it

[Q] Milestone 2 BRICKED, do not know what else to do. Help.

Hello Guys,
I bricked my Milestone 2 when trying to install the update for version Android 2.3.
It appers the Google logo when the phone starts, but it shuts off by it self.
When I try the recovery mode:
I get to it, but when I select the option of wipe data and reset to factory, does it start, but shuts off in the middle of the progress.
(When does it shut, I can turn back on easy)
When I try the bootloader:
Stuck saying that battery is low Can't program.
(I left the phone charging all day and I get the same message)
I do not know what to do anymore, some of the users here, says that is the battery.
But, the battery is bad or the phone is not charging?
When I plug the charger, the light turns on.
What do you guys think?
I already see the option in use the Nandroid Recovery, but I'm nor sure how to do it...
I do not have any friend with the same phone, so I will have to buy another battery or a universal charger, that I can charge the battery with out the phone.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jeferson.
Wow, that was there so many times. For instance:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344740
or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363918
in the sum some facts:
- you can't charge battery in bricked milestone 2
- you MUST have some charge in battery for SBF flashing via bootloader
1) you have to charge battery
2) you have to flash SBF via RSDLite
Milestone 2 hardbrick
First I upgraded the milestone 2 kitkat then disappeared until it was trying to downgrade and there it all began. No button works x vol + vol - @ all possible combinations already tried the rsd lite does not recognize the phone, adb and fastboot also not the phone, but makes up the sbf_flash is waiting for the phone in the end, the only thing q works is the LED side of the micro usb is solid and sometimes q could use rsd she appeared sw update in progress so but after that it also could not switch on the phone. I read a lot and could not find any case equal to staff]
Please help me
God bless us all ..
Thanks Hemerson

[Q] LG G2 D800 - Gone Progressively worse.. Looks like completely bricked

Hi,
I have a LG G2 D800 (ATT Black version) which I was running with cm 11 for a long time.. Last week I got curious and tried to install CM12 on it and that's where started my nightmare.
To begin with, I think I flashed the wrong twrp version (d802) instead of d800.. So I was stuck for a while.. I finally was able to recover from that and Installed CM12. The install went ok, but the phone would freeze and turn off.. It wouldn't turn back on unless I did a soft reset.. I tried a few times and then gave up.. With the nandroid backup that I had, I went back to cm11, but the problem started to follow me in CM11 as well.. The phone was constantly rebooting.. Sometimes the phone would stay on for 2-3 hours and sometimes it wouldn't stay on for 2 minutes.. So I got frustrated and went thru' different threads and finally went back to Stock Rom using the LGFlashtool method.. In stock rom, the phone booted up fine, but the rebooting issue started happening there as well.. The phone was definitely much stable under stock rom than CM11/CM12 but it won't still power off all of a sudden and I could go a couple of hours before noticing that it had turned off.. Frustrated with it, I started all over again to root and install twrp and that's when it went from Bad to worse.. Something happened with my TWRP flash and I was not able to go to recovery or download... I was stuck...
I tried several methods. 1 ) Using ubuntu was my first try.. I followed the initial steps (ls devices and gdisk -l command) and after I ran the first step (dd if=/home/med/Desktop/sbl1.img of=/dev/sdb2), my phone went into fastboot mode and ubuntu couldn't recognize my device. after that.. I couldn't run the remaining commands..
2) since I was stuck in fastboot, I followed the fastboot method from another thread by downloading the fastboot and laf.img.... The phone was responding and said recovery erased successfully, but it kept going back to fastboot.. When I tried a different laf.img file, that's when the phone rebooted and now wouldn't turn on at all..
No LG image, no recovery, no response.. I've tried all button combinations (holding vol down and power, power alone, all 3 buttons, vol+ and power)... nothing happens with the phone... Windows doesn't recognize the phone.. It says 'lg g2 qhsusb_bulk' but that's pretty much it..
Atleast until today morning I had a LG image flashing that tells me that the issue is a software / partition issue.. Now I don't know if I have fried something..
I bought the fone in november 2013 and hence its out of warranty.. . I'm not eligible for upgrade till November and I'm stuck with using a iphone 4s (ouch...) until then... It sucks big time to go from the g2 to the 4s... any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks. I looked into that thread before. Unfortunately in my case the phone is not recognized in adb or fastboot. Adb shows no device listed whereas fastboot says waiting for device.
Lg flashtool doesnt do anything either.
Only thing is that fone was showing up as unknown device and by me pressing vol up and power and vol down, it shows up as qhusb bulk..

Go to the Device Manager => device properties of the "unknown device" => Details => Hardware ID and search the value on the internet for a driver... Maybe with a driver you can get the phone to be recognized
Folks,
I finally was able to get my G2 working from a hard brick..
My final non working symptom : Blank Screen.. No download.. No recovery.. No LG logo… Windows was showing device as unknown device sometimes and sometimes as qhusb_bulk.
Steps that I followed: You need to know how to use fastboot.
1) Kept trying different combinations of the 3 buttons (power, vol + and Vol -). The one that worked for me was to unplug the phone from pc… Press all 3 buttons together for 15-20 seconds and will keys pressed, plug into the PC.
2) This put me in the fastboot mode.. Here I tried flash laf.img with several laf files. My phone was a lg g2 d800 (ATT variant). Nothing really worked..
3) So I downloaded the Stock Rom files (aboot, boot, dbi, laf, misc, modem, persist, recovery, rpm, sbl1, and tz images) from http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2). I flashed all these files using Fastboot and then after flashing, rebooted the phone.
4) The phone automatically went into AT&T update and at 3% failed with an error and booted into safe mode. (This is probably because when it got bricked, I accepted a OTA update on a rooted phone and I didn’t have twrp recovery either).
5) I came out of safe mode and booted normally and voila, I got the stock rom 4.2.2 on my phone.
Thanks so much to the various threads in XDA developers that I was able to fix this.. Much thanks to etm34 for this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2681089

Happy to see you solved.
All,
Even though I resolved my bricked G2, it is still giving me issues by turning off automically after a while... It looks like a hardware failure to me where it ceases to operate at times.. The phone has stayed on sometimes for an entire day and sometimes it goes off in 5 minutes.. I'm sending it to LG repair service.. Hopefully they fix it for me under warranty (even though it has been 13 months since i bought it)..

brick problem, noob here, plz help

my problem is kind of abnormal. i couldnt find solution anywhere so i came here. my device was zenfone 5(t00f)/lollipop.
so i wanted to root my phone. i followed this guide >>
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/zenfonetoolkit3-24-40-87-t3406557
the tool i used is called ZenfoneToolkit_20160719, downloaded from here
HTML:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0AFmAAcGS5xbWpTQzBQVTN3b1k
. its a bundle of .exe, .dll, .img, .bin files. but no need to work on them seperately, there is a simple cli tool from which you can choose what you want to do and it executes that file for you. below is the list what you can do.
1. Wipe Cache
2. Factory Reset
3. Flash Boot
4. Flash Recovery
5. Flash Fastboot
6. Flash Stock ROM
7. Root
8. Unroot
9. Unlock Bootloader
10. Relock Bootloader
11. Zenfone Rescue aka Debrick
12. Fixing Generic IMEI 004999010640000
13. Backup MicroSD
14. Flash Boretz Kernel Lollipop
so wiped cache[1] first then i tried to root[7]. sadly it didnt work, when i turned the phone on it took me to fastboot screen, there i had only a few options like, normal boot(doesnt happen), recovery mode, restart. when i turned it off and pressed power and volume up together it would go to recovery where none of the options works. i though that was what called brick, so followed this guide to make my life better
HTML:
http://zenfone-blog.blogspot.com/2015/06/guide-how-to-unbrick-asus-zenfone-4-5-6.html
.
my phone by default came with kitkat. so when i downloaded the firmware i wanted to get a kitkat. but i couldnt find a matching recovery img and firmware for kitkat on asus official page. so i downloaded jellybean. ASUS ZenFone 5(T00F/T00J) software Image: V1.18.40.9 ww for firmware from here
HTML:
https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/2/96nqlxHp1VKV4Rdz/32/
. and recovery img is 1.18.40.9_ww_recovery.img from here
HTML:
https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/644D9E0A19714899974C75FC4B6C87EDY
. i dont know what "ww" means in those name but i saw it in my software version before so i went with it.
All the steps went smoothly, by the end of it i guessed my phone charge would be low so i put it in charge and turned it on. first time it turn on without a problem. i checked out a few things and leave it for charge. after a while i came back and battery was 0%. i thought i would be wise to plug out and in charging port again. as soon as i pull out the pin, screen instantly turned black and the phone went dead after a looooong ass vibration.
now when i try to charge the orenge light at top lights up but the animation that shows battery always show its empty. if i try to turn it on while plugged, it shows asus logo/intel logo and goes dead again. if i try to turn it on without being plugged, it shows a battery logo with a question mark, which i think means the phone cannot find battery.
i am stuck here.... plz someone be my savior.
Hello my dear, to get out of this problem I did the following: I connected the phone to compuador by USB cable (with himself off), then he calls and gets the question symbol, it held the power button plus volume up he must restart to get the logo asus about 4 seconds after loose the power button and continue with the volume button up insured. It should enter into fastboot mode there do the necessary procedures to reflash the system.
I hope you helped, hug!

Hardbricked stuck on "Your device has been unlocked" and blinking red light

Hey guys i really need your help, i decided to unlock the bootloader of my phone, and so i did without any issue, the phone opened and worked completly, so i wanted to relock it and so i did also without any issue, but i wanted root again so i tried to unlock it again with the same Code with the official unlocking way, but this time the phone have been stuck and red led notification blinking everytime i put in on computer.
If i plug off the power source and try to open the device the red light blink very fast and there is a charging symbol on the screen but then dissapers instantly and nothing the phone turning off.
I cannot enter on recovery or dload, anyone knows what to do? The PC cant recognize the phone if i plug it.
Here some video to check the issue, please turn on the subtitles because im speaking Greek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTkx0ifNhg4

Huawei is one of the worst companies i ever saw! Their phones are so easy to brick and they can't be fixed!
Wait until the battery drained and phone shutdown, connect charger again and wait for 5 minutes , it will turn on in erecovery , shutdown and redo fastboot etc carefully.

Dissconnect the usb cable and hold the power button. When it is just about to reboot, plug in the USB and hold the volume down button. This should take you to fastboot OR to error mode...
-------
Huawei devices aren't easy to brick, but recovering the devices is a pain... I hard bricked my device as well a couple weeks ago..
I have tried to wait for the battery drained completly and if you plug the usb while the phone is off the phone is powering on automatically and stays to the "Your Device has been unlocked"
Also with the same method before i plug in the usb i was trying to hold the volume down button and plug it in but it didnt happend it is booting on the same thing.

pls clear actual screen position of ur fone, unlock screen titled as fastboot and rescue or yellow text with black background.
chances are there u get fastboot connection by turning off mobile by power button hold for 7 seconds and phone turned off wait for a while ensure no USB cable connected to phone. then press volume down button and conect USB cable, you will see fast boot and rescue screen. now issue command fastboot devices. if u see ur devices serial number there then follow further fasboot procedure mentioned in other threads,
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system.img
above files may be obtained by extracting update.app for ur phone stock image by huawei extractor. you have to work for 2 days constantly for unbricking phone. I have gone through all these processes last week.

Hi, I have a similar problem: "your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted". I cannot enter fastboot nor with the two buttons method (power + volume down) or the three buttons method. I messed up with the EMUI, I guess. Infact, I unlocked the bootloader, relocked it and tried to unlock it again to flash a custom ROM. The first time I unlocked the bootloader, I tried to install TWRP but something went bad, I do not remember what, but I decided to relock.
Now I am stuck with this message. But....sometimes, I can't understand WHEN, I can enter my phone Last time it was when I tried the above solution (only volume down and usb cable, without the Power button). When the phone turned on, HiSuite recognized "a phone" was connected because the software turned on, but it couldn't really see it. I went into the Developer Options on the phone to turn on OEM, but it was grey and I could do nothing :crying:
Full of hope because the phone turned on, I then tried to flash the content of the SD Card (where I put files extracted with the Huawei Update Extractor) by holding the three buttons (power + volume up + volume down), but again it appeared the "your device has been unlocked" message.
Now the phone is off. Once, in the meantime, it appeared a red flash on the screen for one second, I am not sure it is related to the battery, it doesn't display a battery but only a flash.
I cannot enter fastboot in any way, I cannot flash from SD card, sure I cannot rollback because it implies flashing.
My only hope is some command to be given when I can enter the phone. Anyway, I sent it to repair (not official, I have obviously no guarantee anymore) and they sent it back to me: they didn't know what to do.
Any idea? Thanks a lot!
PS: I will read your replies as soon as I can but I have very variable ad unstable working hours!

I think the red light blinks cause you are critically low on power. Leave it plugged in. Ignore whats on the screen just leave it plugged in for a few hours and leave it alone.

Same here with a BLN-L21 (Honor 6x)
The phone will not charge with this method. Try to let it plug one night, and no charge !
@Meticulus this was the question felix ask you: is uboot (booting with sdcard) is possible ?
Fixed for me with buy an honor 9 ... but investigate to revive my honor 6x.
For now i have maybe found how to shutdown phone, to charge battery (with shurtcut two point in motherboard) but don't know if phone charge for the moment because there is no light
Solution for the moment but difficult AND / OR expensive ....
1. Remove emmc and repair it with a JTAG box.
2. Try to boot with uboot (but probably won't work)

Its not actually mine and it was long time ago, but the owner told me that he unlocked bootloader with the official way, relocked, and then he unlocked again the third time the phone died.
Hello.
me too, he does not want to do anything anymore.
he only knows this '' your device is booting now '' screen with the red LED flashing.
whatever I do, it always starts on this screen. I think you have to change the motherboard.
Do you know where to find it at a reasonable price?

I fixed mine today. I just had to wait for 5 hours for the battery to drain. then when it shuts off i waited 10 min. after that i started the phone and i let me choose to continue to the phone.
I dunno if you have the exact same problem but thats how i fixed mine.
And after that i tried factory resetting (cause bluetooth and NFC didn't work) but then it got stuck again. so i waited it out and it worked once again.

I fixed mine today. I just had to wait for 5 hours for the battery to drain. then when it shuts off i waited 10 min. after that i started the phone and i let me choose to continue to the phone.
I dunno if you have the exact same problem but thats how i fixed mine.
And after that i tried factory resetting (cause bluetooth and NFC didn't work) but then it got stuck again. so i waited it out and it worked once again.

any fix on this as I have the same issue with huawei p9 lite - no recovery mode, no usb reckognition from pc. Just stuck on that "unsafe" prompt screen after huawei logo
Stop buying huawei phones if you are into custom roms or root. They made the phone easily brickable and they removed the bootloader unlock site due to some stores installing malware into phones. But hey, they couldn't simply do what Xiaomi is doing eh?

Moto X style(pure edition) is 'almost' dead

Unlocked Bootloader using fastboot, messed with random roms, then wiped everything , then installed stock rom again . Seemed normal. set to update while it was charging @ 30% battery juice. Came back after some hours, to find it dead.
I have set to charge for 6+ hours. Pressed various combinations of volume buttons and power for minutes. Pressed power button for minutes. Nothing on the screen.
Only indication of life is when connected to PC via usb - "Uknown USB device (Device Descriptor request failed)"
Any hope?
Edit: The exact stock ROM installed : (WARNING: A**holes have coinhive script on that page)https://firmware.center/firmware/Mo...HS24.49-18-8_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip

Sounds like its hard bricked to me, ive had basically the same thing happen in the past with ZTE phones and i never managed to recover them.
If you cant get it into recovery or have it recognized your pretty stuck, i would try a different cord and/or computer and hopefully you can get it recognized.

Please note that going to that link my antivirus blocks a virus, it could be false but i rarely have anything blocked from websites like that.
Hey, the phone 'was' indeed hard bricked. So I googled for "moto x style hard brick" and found a thread right here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/help/solved-hard-brick-moto-x-style-xt1572-t3693860
It has detailed instructions to unbrick. Working perfectly . Phone saved, when I had lost almost all hope.
System dump

If it's hard bricked then get a system dump of the first 200mb of your stock rom, download win32 disk imager, take the system dump and burn it to a SD card through win32 disk imager, put the SD card in your phone and boot it up, once powered on go to fastboot and flash your stock rom again. Hardbrick solved
