Is their a difference between these two Samsung Gear VR? other than price - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Before I fork out £80 for it. I have the galaxy S7 Has anyone got any examples of stuff I could actually do with it or is it all just pretty simple apps?
I'd love to get immersed in another world!
Edit- Scratch that, it's only Argos that's selling it for that price. Amazon has it for £50! Or is the Argos version the latest, or something?
Argos- http://tinyurl.com/zzyoqe6
Amazon- http://tinyurl.com/hokghjq

I wouldnt spend money on gear VR.. not worth it... i have it and it was meh... the graphics arent great.. wait for the S8 with 4k screens, then it would be way better... plus the library isnt huge...

[Q] 10.1 inch on sale for $229, worth it?

Hi all, trying to get a midrange tablet for my mom for christmas and today it's on sale on amazon for $229. I've read reviews and they say it's good for midrange, but the retail price was a little pricey. Since it's on sale, I figured it'd be worth it now. Thoughts?

Yes it's totally worth it. It sits well in your hand so if your mom has arthritis issues it should be easier to hold. It's fairly light weight.
The ram available even with the bloat of stock rom is about 800mb. on Custom rom like @sub77 's Slimkat build about 1100mb
The tab is fairly snappy with flash being good out of the box in stock browser.
As long as it's legit you should be good.
the model i have which was a gift is sm-t530nu [wifi].

Google Cardboard (Galaxy S6 Edge)

So Like Many of You I upgraded from the Note 4, and the gear vr 1. I was hoping they would atleast have a date out for the vr 2 but it doesnt seem to be the case. So now im looking for sometype of vr function to hold me out in the mean time before i decide on a occulus or some alternative. anyway to my question , what is the best cardboard headset for the s6 edge? and will the curve screen mess up the vr effect?
I've got the kit from dodocase.com, it's essentially the cardboard kit. It works pretty well imho, the curved edges aren't noticeable, I think they're slightly outside of the field of view.
well it seems the Vr 2 launch is imminent the gods have heard my prayers pre orders start tommarow!

A bit expensive for what it is imao, it's just a phone holder (pretty sexy I know). Anyway I'm pretty interested on your feedback w/ this one! Maybe someday it'll cost half the price and start to be interesting for me

What about VR apps? Most users complain about a poor app store...
Istill have great hopes on this VR2, since S6 is gonna be a great succes, the amount of potential users is superior, so dev will gain interest on that market.

I felt the same way... But it's supposed to be lighter, have the fan and the charging port. And it's supposed to be more comfortable.
I'm really on the fence lol
indeed, i was a day 1 buyer of the Vr 1 but it looks like i might have to pick this one up on EBAY lol

Over in the VR headset thread there is a guy that said that he has the Oculous headset right now and said the the samsung VR is going to be well worth the money. This pushes me more towards buying it in may haha
They are 199 now at best buy.
I owned a Note 4 with a Gear VR as well. Saw some great potential in it but 99% of the available content is crap. That's an area where the Oculus Rift will definitely be the better option. As long as there is no similar content for the Gear VR I'm holding my money back.

Ebay shenanigans

Seeing how hostile are Netflix and Amazon prime to almost all Android tablets (no HD resolution), I decided to pick up one of old cheap Android tablets that are whitelisted in the Netflix FAQ. I figured, I could pick up a Shield tablet for less than a hundred bucks to be a gym companion, and this is the result of the first auction I tried to bid on. This is insane, who are these people?
Paying almost full MSRP for such an old device. lol
The Shield was a pretty unique device. An Android tablet designed for gaming, made by a respected manufacturer of gaming video cards. Still folks looking to buy it, as you can see. I might be still using it, if I hadn't cracked the screen (and replacements pretty much impossible to find).
Doesn't help that there are hardly any decent Android tablets coming out anymore. $650 for the Samsung Tab S4 (or $550 for the two year old S3) is just laughable.
But yeah, for the price in your screenshot; you're probably better off buying a Asus Zenpad.
What redpoint73 has said. When you consider the hardware, for under 200 it's still a very solid performing tablet and not really selling itself hard on frills. The downside is that Nvidia no longer produces them, so there's a finite amount of them and they are desired.
I've seen them going for around 200-250 on average.
Here something interesting samsung going to release new tablets
1. Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e with Snapdragon 670 4GB Ram 64GB, 6GB Ram 128GB price maybe $400
2. Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 model with Samsung Exynos 7904 processor 2 or 3GB Ram 32GB Internal Storage and might cost $179-200
Both support Android 9.0

Try Let go or offer up. I just bought a Mint condition shield tablet, shield controller, plugs and mini HDMI to regular HDMI for 50 bucks!
Bought my son a k1 a few years ago for well over $200. Gotta be almost 3 years now & the k1 is still a great tab. Got a new battery on the way but after almost 3 years that's to be expected. Still handles games, media & anything extremely well. Doubles as a console which is way cool. An extremely durable tablet, my son is 7½. Not updated anymore, it landed on Android 7, which I consider to be one of the best versions, especially for older devices. Anything around $150 for this tablet in good working order, even in the age of Q I think is a good price. Definitely one of the best tablets every imo.
Sold my replacement unopened Shield tab for $350 on ebay earlier this month. Not sure why people are paying so much for a 5+ year old tablet but I cant complain!

Is it really worth upgrading to the S20 Ultra from the S10+

I know all about the new features and improvements: the crazy camera, beautiful 120Hz screen, huge battery and so on.
But I want to know what you guys really think?
They are offering good trade in values too ($600 for the S10+) and the preorder discount (~$200-235), which is only good at samsung.com. But I already own the Buds and the Galaxy Watch Active2...[emoji53]
So, with all that (including the S10+ trade in), we still have to pay ~$900 (with tax) cash for the S20 Ultra. Is it really worth it?

These threads are really pointless. If it makes sense for you, then make the change. If it doesn't make sense to you then don't. Only you know which differences matter to you.

That is only something you can decide. I upgraded from a note 10+5G (expensive) because I want the camera/screen upgraded and want of the Verizon version that can't even upgrade to other carrier software because it's a one off (with the mmWave antennas).
For you, maybe it's worth it, maybe it's not.
The answer is highly subjective - if you are asking the question, your personal answer is probably 'no', at least not 'day one'. Wait for prices to drop and then go for it.
It's entirety up to you my friend... For me, yes. I pre ordered the ultra upgrading from my S10+. Now is for you to decide if it's worth for you

S10+ still worth buying?

Morning all,
I currently have a Galaxy A70 that seems to be slowing down quite a bit. It was never super fast to begin with. And the fingerprint scanner is terrible.
I'm considering a new phone and so far the logical choice seems to be the S10+. It still has decent specs, and the price is within my budget for a refurbished factory unlocked version. But I'd like to hear the opinions of actual owners. Do you guys feel that it would still be a good buy right now for around $300? Is day to day use still good?
If not, can you recommend any other phones that are better for around the same price?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, yes and yes. I bought one renewed from amazon and it was practically brand new. The S10+ is just as capable today as it was in mid 2019. I couldn't justify buying a S20 or S21. Even the S22 isn't looking like a worthy upgrade. I like my S10+ so much, I bought another one for a family member. It will get the Android 12 update and the cameras....oh boy. Amazing broski. I can't recommend it high enough. I paid $280 bucks and no one phone even comes close at that price range. There is also a ceramic version available if you want for $20 bucks more! Its a no-brainer. Just do it. Lord Willing, you'll thank me later!
On a quick note, I have an A70 as well. It is a huge upgrade, I can tell you that. The quality, is A+ on the S10+. However, the fingerprint reader is a little annoying. It isn't as fast other devices. Just a heads up. Its better than the A70, but it isn't perfect.

Thanks. I didn't see your response until now. But I ended up buying the S10+ and I'm very happy with it. It is so much faster than the A70. I sold the A70 too, so the S10+ only ended up costing me about $150. Definitely a great deal.
