Prediction time ... when will we have a higher resolution Note 8?

I tried a nexus 7 and 10 before trying and keeping the Note 8. I love the size and feel, but do wish the resolution was a bit higher. 250 ppi would suffice.
So when will I get my wish? I actually don't care about the s pen. I'd love a fast, 4 core, high-res Tab 3 8. Go!

Note 8 only came out this year so I predict next year at the earliest.

I guess the new ipad mini would meet my requirements. Too bad it's a mac!

So..you're asking when an 8 inch, high PPI device is coming out? I'm guessing when the next iPad Mini hits.

I forgot who it was, but some company came out with a high res screen on a10" tablet with a Wacom digitizer, but if I remember right they are asking $699 for it. So there might be a reason we don't have high res screens.

I'd rather have the S-Pen than a higher resolution screen. But I wouldn't mind exactly the same device with a 1080p screen, 32GB flash, and a newer processor.

Nice. But too big. 8-9" is ideal for me in my opinion.

If the rumors are right it looks like the answer is the Slate 8 pro, hopefully later this fall.

True but aside from the upgraded display I note there's nothing mentioned about a digitizer or price point.

I just don't understand why people hope to appear a new note 8.0 with a higher pixel density, the actual display is very good. I want displays to be more energy efficient rather than more ppi. And the processor is good enough for everything. For me is just marketing.

I mostly agree with you, but at 189 I still notice it sometimes when reading ssmaller fonts. Mid to low 200's is enough for me.

Technically, you are right. Realistically, the Galaxy S4 display spoiled me. Having said that, the Note 8 display is much better than my MacBook Pro for example, so it's nothing to sneeze at.

And the thing appears to have a Tegra 4 SoC. After the POS that the Tegra 3 was (personal experience), I don't think I'll be touching a Tegra SoC again. Samsung or Qualcomm for me, seems like they can be trusted to deliver high performance consistently.

I think we all just need to enjoy our current devices, that is the reason why we bought them, and yes no one will be disappointed by a newer display with a higher ppi on next Note 8. But we really need more efficient energy consumption on these devices so we don't feel that stress when your juice run out and you really need the device.

For me that display is not a reason to spend 600€ (Europe, doh... ) to upgrade from S3, if u have an older one, it's ok. So... everyone with their needs and budget.

For me that display is not a reason to spend 600€ (Europe, doh... ) to upgrade from S3, if u have an older one, it's ok. So... everyone with their needs and budget.

Agreed. I came from the S3 to the S4 and the S3 display is excellent as well. But the S4 display is undeniably better, far more so than even the iPhone 5.

I have no issues paying more for a better note 8. I love my note but more flash memory 32 or 64gig would be nice and a higher res screen. Our screen looks great, its bright, colors and vibrant, and very clear but l can see the pixels and l would rather not.
Please samsung make us a PREMIUM 8inch tablet

Technically speaking, the current 8" Note is "premium" as there is nothing better on the market in the category. having said that, neither I nor would most people pay more money for an 8" tablet, considering that the Note 8 is already the most expensive one out there.

I know that's why l got the note but they could have done much much better. The note can be had for around $350 and sometime less. I would say $450 isn't out of reach for a kick butt 8inch note tablet. I know a few that would pay that

In Shaa Allah this monday i will buy anyone based upon your suggestion.

Ive not had this problem. It gets a little warm when using full brightness whilst on charge.

If you from note3, better enjoy your phone at the moment. Wait for the note 4

Doesn't bother me cause I'm so cool
JK, but yeah, like total music, only when charging for me, I think. Not even sure if it heats up all the time or sometimes cause I don't touch my phone when it's charging.

The phone has heating problem. When i download from play store, it become so hot in the camera area. Other function cool. When i look from the 170 degree, suddenly there is a greenish color shift. I think may be factory default screen protector. Also color rendering is not accurate. As i used iphone and lenevo. I saw almost same color rendering on those two ips display. Which i think is accurate. But in s5 the color is totally different of that thing. I think may be cause of adapt display. The display a bit yellowish. I think cause of the factory defailt screen protector.

With Cinema display setting it's quite good. Much better than Standard if you like accuracy rather than oversaturation.

Mine G900F has a heating problem when used actively for updates and downloads probably is something related to the CPU usage. But in normal day to day usage is with good working temperatures. However I would check other phones as well and if I owned a Note 3 I wouldn`t change it as the Note 3 is amazing phone i even think it`s better then the S5 or very close.

Hmmm..ecery device has its cons. S5 is no difference. But we can live with that.

Which AMOLED Panel Being Used?

The comparison is obviously against the newest Samsung series of devices. The Nexus 6 has a horrid AMOLED screen; my wife's Galaxy S5 has a better screen in terms of vibrancy and overall colors.
I read somewhere that the Super AMOLED of Samsung is actually constructed differently that other manufacturers? Is that true?

Unsure on the exact panel , all i've heard from the videos is " gorgeous "and "bright " though

Check android authority video comparison of 6p vs old nexus 6. To me the amoled on the 6p seemed too yellowish and very similar to the nexus 6 screen. That makes me think amoled being used this year is again lower quality. On the s6 and note 5, the amoled whites are really white...while on the 6p video the whites seemed yellowish like nexus 6. That's a red flag.

I'm holding off on the 6P because I might make the move over to the Edge 6+ or Note 5. I'm at the point where build quality and screen mean more to me than anything else.
The dev is getting "boring", since there isn't really much left to improve when it comes to stock android.

I feel the same that's why I am using the note 5. I have had every nexus, but starting from nexus 5 development scene wasn't that great anymore. OS has reached a level where there isn't much improvement left for the developers to make.

I wish Samsung put out a Google version (or whatever it was called), like they did with the Galaxy S4. If they did that for the Note 5 or any of the S6's, I'd be happy.
My wife wants the Edge+, and I will probably get the Note 5.

I really wish that more people with the hands on opportunity would talk more about the screen quality. It's really crazy that they are not.

Doesn't the Nexus 6 also use a Samsung Amoled? I think the argument is that Samsung uses the "best" Amoleds for their devices and don't share.

Nothing is as bad as the Moto X 2014 screen. I have that and it's soooo yellow.
The Nexus 5 might be the perfect phone, at least to me.

Lol they don't give a single **** I think. Nexus has never been about premium hardware. Google guys are smart and they probably notice how blind their fanboys are. No matter what Google sells, or at what price, fanboys will buy it. That's what they are doing now. They sold the nexus 6 for 700+ last year, and in less than 11 months, that phone dropped to $300. That's 68% loss in less than 1 year. Speaks a lot of quality of hardware.

None of the YouTube reviews said nothing bad, and im sure its a different display than the Nexus 6. I have the Samsung S6 now and the screen is amazing. I assure you the screen on the 6p will be just fine. I'm getting rid of the S6 is because the user experience suck balls thanks to AT&T. Even after the 5.1.1 update. I still think my Nexus 5 "rip" ran a lot smoother then the S6. just my personal option.

Unhappy with the Axon 7 after 2 weeks:Questions

I came from a Nexus 6. Here are the issues I have with the axon 7 and why I am returning it:
-Screen is 5.5" Not 5.9" or greater like the Nexus 6. I thought I could get use to it and like the screen being smaller but I just miss a bigger screen. I wish for a Axon 7 pro or plus model that had a bigger screen.
-No water resistance or dust resistance (after 1 week I noticed the speakers were not as loud as my Nexus 6.. I took some air spray and sprayed air in the speakers of the axon 7 and the clarity came back... Annoying to have to do this all the time. The Nexus 6 didn't have this issue as it it dust resistant)
-No wireless charger. I love dropping the Nexus 6 on the wireless charger and picking it up with no wires.
-No on screen buttons. With on screen buttons I can customize the button shape, color, etc... More over can use pie which I love as this gives you MORE screen and hides the navigation buttons until you need them on the Nexus 6)
-Lack of roms. Unlike the Nexus 6 which has a HUGE dev community offering custom roms, the Axon 7 doesn't as not many know about Axon / ZTE.
**Side note. I am really loving the front facing speakers of the device. Like the Nexus 6, this device has true dual speakers and it's just great along with the AMOLED display like the Nexus 6 it has deep blacks. Does anyone know a phone that exists like the Axon 7 but also ticks the boxes I outline above?
At @02busa , you live in the states like me. What do you think? I have read that this device checked off many boxes for you. I'd love your input on my thread. I respect your posts here.

I've had it for about a month already no issues here love this phone and no ZTE is not paying me to say this its a great phone for the price. flawed? yes but seriously what phone isn't? Just look at the Note7 which is the device I came from before the Axon7 and for the price I can't complain the specs are amazing camera isn't as great as Samsung S7 but its good enough for me.

Totally agree. I had a vzn s7e as a daily driver. Now I split the duties depending on what my day consists of. Like many have said, is the phone perfect? No. Does it have flaws? Yes. But for the price point, specs and the POTENTIAL development. I believe the thing many people are having a problem with this phone is being patient!(I'm guilty of it myself)

how many of you will update to Note 8?

Just curious, will you quit your s8 and update to note 8 ?

I had the S8+ for a week and was just too tall of a phone at this aspect ratio. Ended up returning it for the slightly smaller S8, and much happier with how it feels.
As an owner of the Note 2/3/4, the Note 8 will also be too tall in my opinion. I'd only get it if they went back to 16:9.

I'll look at one in the store when it comes out, like I did with the Note 7 last year. But I doubt that I will get it due to the even taller screen then the S8+.

However, I kept the + due to its higher battery capacity.
Thus the Note 8 is not on my wishlist at the moment but I will definitely have a look at it.

I'm interested in the S8 Active whenever it comes out. Too bad they only make it for AT&T, but I'm on their GoPhone plan.

These tall phone's fall out of jacket and hoodie pockets way to easy.
Between that and the "break me" curved screen, I am pretty much done with samsung..

Never. This phone is perfect. Why would I need only minor upgrades for about a $1000.
Usually I use the phone for about 2 years. Now I hope it will be at least 3.

I wish I had your will-power to hang on to phones for 2 years....
Even though I know im paying for incremental upgrades, which is a waste, i'm always tempted by new flagships.
Currently have the S8+, but will most likely get the Note 8. I have had all the Note phones from the past with the exception of the Original Note, which I didn't get because at the time, it was awkwardly big...and then I also passed on the Note 7 before the exploding battery fiasco. My reasoning for passing on the Note 7 was because unlike years past where I felt there were enough difference between the Note Series and the S Series, the Note 7 just seemed like a S7 Plus "S" lol...to me, it was an S7 with an S-Pen.
the dual camera's on the Note 8 alone has me intrigued. Even though I didn't use my S-Pen as much as I would like to, just having it there for quick note jotting or photo-shopping was nice.
In years past, having a Nexus device meant having one of the fastest phones, due to the aspect of pure android, but with processors and increased RAM, that is no longer the case

I'm going to update to Google Pixel 2.
