[Hardbrick] SCL23 (SM-G900J) Japanese Galaxy S5 - debrick.img needed - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, so here is what happened.
I bought a used galaxy S5 (SCL23) 16GB from a store in Japan, but the stock rom installed on it (with android 4.4.2) only had japanese or english as languages and I wanted to use french and I also wanted to try CM13 for a while so I flashed it and it worked almost fine for a while but I had some issues with not being able to send/receive SMS so I wanted to go back to stock. I found a stock file that I thought was the right one for my phone but ended up hardbricking it.
No download mode, no recovery mode, nothing, it doesn't even seem to power on, no response whatsoever.
I've heard a lot of success stories using a debrick.img on a 16GB class 10 microSD to enable download mode and flash the right stock rom with odin and I'd like to try that but cannot seem to find any debrick img for this model.
If someone has this model and would be kind enough to create and upload one, or knows someone who does, or if anyone knows if I can use a debrick file for another carrier model and still get it to work, I would be so grateful !

go to sammobile.com/firmwares (or heres the link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SCL23/) download the appropriate version and the boot.img is in the tar.md5

Thanks youdoofus, I already downloaded the appropriate stock rom from there but I'm not sure boot.img is the same as a debrick image, a lot of people are asking how to create debrick images from stock roms but nobody figured it out yet apparently. Still, it's worth a try I guess, will update with the results tomorrow.
I also found out that my phone is in the old qualcomm 9008 mode (recoginized as QUALCOMM HS-USB QLOADER 9008 (COM4) in the COM/PORTS when connected to the PC, no drive storage, no red light) so I tried to follow some tutorials on how to flash the rom with QFIL but got stuck on a sahara protocol error). I read somewhere that this doesn't work with win10, so I will retry with a win7 laptop this weekend.
I cannot buy a new phone until november so I'm ready to try anything in the meantime.
If anyone has any other idea, I'm all ears.

As I expected this did not work, nor did QFIL in win7.
Looks like only JTAG could save it but this is absolutely not known in Japan and nobody offers this service.
Since it's cheaper to buy a new phone than to buy an octoplus box or a riff box, I guess I'll have to wait and do that...

same problem for me
please someone help me

[Q] [REQ] DLL for flashing D805 10B TOT file through LG Flash Tool 1.6 - Please help

Guys, I really need to find the LG DLL file database for flashing .TOT files.
The DLL file I need is for the LG G2 D80510B_00 or LG G2 D80510A_00 TOT file firmwares, to be used on 1.6 LGFlashTool, for Brazil unbranded variant of the phone. I believe it will work for all D805 models.
The .TOT file I intend to use is LGD805AT-00-V10a-724-05-AUG-23-2013-16G+0.tot
I have scoured the internet for over a week and found none other than in a chinese LG G2 forum, the link -- http://bbs.gaodi.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=662769&extra=page=1&filter=typeid&typeid=2381 -- and the file was no longer available for download. I registered on their forum, but the file was showing an error even after proper registration.
I have not found this DLL anywhere, is there a database for it? How did people come up with the AT&T and Vzn DLL versions? I haven't been able to extract it from the KDZ files either, and the DLLs generated from the KDZ during UpdateTool does not work.
I had bricked the phone originally by trying to use Scott's Clean Rom on it, and it bricked into fastboot mode. I flashed something wrong on fastboot, I can't even remeber what, and rebooted, and fastboot was no longer accessible...
I can get into download mode, and factory reset from stock recovery, no custom recovery available, it is gone. I try to flash KDZ files, many versions besides my D805 one, just for the sake of trying, but all of them get stuck on the 49% point. I have set up port 41, disabled modem, reset phone before trying, selected many different language combinations besides my own Portuguese one. Nothing works.
On LGFlashTool 1.6 it seems like it can work, but it errors at 1%, when I use the DLLs for D800 or D802. I need the DLL for D805. I even managed to find the proper TOT file.
I have also searched for about two days on how to reenter fastboot mode from where I currently am stuck.I even did a DIY Factory Cable on an micro USB I had lying around, soldered it all right, but it did not work, and the cable got very hot. I think these cables will not get G2 into fastboot mode, like it seems to do on Kindle fire and Motorola devices. Maybe my DIY was not that good, but I think it should have worked, I made sure the soldure was set and good.
I am downloading Android SDK to try to get back into fastbood mode from there, if there is a way, as it seems to be. I would try to reflash boot and other partitions in an attempt to fix my phone... Is there a way, or another faster path back into Fastboot?
Download mode does not show the version of the firmware on the phone in the box that displays information in the bottom while fdlashng KDZ files. It leaves a blank line where it should be. I believe it is part of my problem, that LGFlashTool does not see a version on the phone at some point, and fails. Or the phone rejects the PC pushes.
I am almost going to the tech support guy with a flash box downtown, but that would be my last resot, and then official LG support, if all else fails. I don't want to go to LG yet because download mode shows ROOTED in red, and they would see it probably, and my warranty become void.
Thanks for any ideas, guidance or help... Cheers guys.
Read this carefully may help you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595
Yeah, that was the guide I used when I landed on fastboot after a bad flash from CleanROM... I flashed some boot.img and recovery.img that didnt work out well.
After I flashed these I rebooted and fastboot mode was no longer loading, instead, I am now on bootloop of the LG logo, with no animation, just the first logo that shows on boot, and I can access stock recovery to factory wipe and also access download mode. My download mode shows rooted warning, and while I am flashing a KDZ, does not show the firmware version I currently have in the middle of the box - before I flashed those .IMGs, it did show the version.
I now a, after a .DLL for D805 10A .TOT file, and I cannot find it. I think the flash method from LGFlashTools 1.6 will work, with .DLL and .TOT files, where the LGFlashTools 1.0.5 did not work for me, with .KDZ.
Or if anyone knows of a way to get into the fastboot mode for G2, pelase let me know. Then I could reflash some .IMG files and hopefully get my phone back online...
Try to flash other version even this is 802 or internetional version. At least you can proof your phone completly brick or not.
I only have all TOT file link of F320 and D802 if you need to try.

Hi guys, I finally managed to fix it a couple days after my thread.
I took long to post this, sorry, I had some interner problems...
Turns out there's already a thread explaining how to do it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
I went to LG Mobile Support Tool and >Options on top right >Update Recovery.
It had to download, so I did it at a friend's who had 50Mbps internet house, to fix this.
I am sorry that I could not manage to do it offline. I even had the KDZ file to flash, but it was only possible through this option in LG Support Tool...
Best of luck to all in any similar problem, I know I was kinda without hope at some points. I spent 2 weeks trying to fix the phone.
Cheers,
Andrew

Hi guys, I know this is not the right spot to ask it, but it more visited than other.
I already installed this ROM and Worked all fine, but when I'm trying to install some Magisk Modules and rebooted my device it get stuck at LG logo... I can access Download mode but not my TWRp recovery.
Any solution to my problem? Just a little help...
Thank you so much anyway!

Thanks to all that tried to help me! I appreciate it a lot! Thank you so much!
My only solution was to try short the capacitors following this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404
Thanks God I don't need to mess with the board!
My problem was that I tried this ROM LineageOS 17.1 with latest version of TWRP Blastgator. Everything was running fine until I flashed Magisk and installed some Mods, then the device rebooted and I get stuck at logo!
No System and no Recovery access, only Download mode! :crying:
Then I followed this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I used to install some custom ROMs like Cloudy G2, LineageOS, Resurretion Remix and AOSPX Pie and tried to this new one. I never had any problems!
This time I realized that my device was forever bricked, my last hope was to short the capacitors but I tried all ways to back to Stock because in Downlaod Mode my device was recognized by Windows.
I tried this in Windows 10 x64 but no success, then I formatted an old HD with Windows 7 x64 to try again!
Old Flash Tool get me stuck at 2% or 4%... no success in both system with all LG drivers available... NO SUCCESS!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53313255&postcount=5400
LGUp only gives Unknow Device and never start but it's seens the device on port 41 - that I changed following the tutorial.
My last hope was New Flash Tool but I needed TOT file for my Device - D805 not D802 and the correct DLL. initially I didn't find anywhere... Like this guy:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583851
I give a lot of tries... a lot of different files, DLLs, tried .KDZ and .DZ, only errors and errors... a lot of "Failed to Load()"...
I'm getting frustrated until I see this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
And found this mine of gold of Downloads:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/
And again, thanks to all, there is a hope in the D805 folder!
I get the TOT File: BIN_LGD805AT-00-V10a-724-05-AUG-23-2013-16G.zip and tried the LG Firmware Extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575) to get a new DLL (LGUP8974.dll).
And voilà, like a charm that WORKED!!!!!!!!! :fingers-crossed::highfive:
It installed Jelly Bean the with the Official LG Updater I installed Kitkat and finally Lollipop.
Later I'll try this LineageOS Rom again!
I hope I can help someone in need like me!!
I thank this forum a lot!!
And please excuse my English!
Thank you so much!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Debrick Image

Hi there
I have HARD bricked my phone (can't use combination keys to get into recovery mode).
I am looking for someone who has a DEBRICK image or who is willing to create and upload one so that I can recover the phone.
The specific software on the phone at the time of death was Android 5.01 and Phone Model is N910GDTU1BOD3.
ALTERNATIVELY, I have another Samsung Note 4 (identical). If you can give me exact step by step instructions and links (so many vague instructions here on XDA) that would help. I promise to create an article here and post recognizing your direct and help!
Many thanks in advance.

Have you tried putting it in download mode? (vol. down+home+power)
If you can then download frimware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and follow the instructions to flash it via Odin.
Hi!
Have you managed to unbrick your Galaxy Note 4? I've got the same problem. Also i've got the detailed instruction how to solve it. But I'm stuggeling to find a working sm-n9100 to make sd-card image.

Check this out , there is a guide and the recovery pit file as well .
https://mega.nz/#!qt81HZiS!-XyNN1m_TEi8dvGrjnEQsxClpfzk7nT_0DliYFJDPew
You just have to :
Load "recovery pit" file in pit partition of odin and any marshmallow bootlaoder in BL (the bootloader that is currently there on working phone is preferable ).
Then, insert a 32gb sdhc sd card in working note 4 and go to download mode .
Flash the two files that i have mentioned above .
The working phone is just a medium , it shouldnt be affected , the blank sd card in that phone will get loaded with the two files.
Then , put that sd card in bricked note 4 , try to enter download mode .
If it succesfully enters download mode , congratulations, you created a working debrick image .
Also download a full repair firmware , that is available on xda .

Debrick has been created , and reportedly working :

Note 4 SM-910F Full Bricked need help

Hey community!
I have a friends note 4 SM-910F that doesn't respond at all that needs to be revived.
Status: No LED, No recovery mode, no download mode, Win64 PC recognizes it sometimes as QHSUSB (Its the snapdragon CPU), battery is fine and original (also tried different ones)
I already tried: to flash somehow a new fw through Odin, but no success because its not able to go in DL mode.
Tried to put the battery out and wait several times (1 2 3 method).
Tried to create a bootable image with SD but no success.
Tried to charge it for hours, but it wouldn't even get warm at the points where it usually gets warm through charging.
Tried many different things like smashing the power button, pressure on display etc. but also no success.
The Note was never rooted and fully Stock 6.0.1 Android from Samsung (updated directly in the phone through wifi).
It worked pretty good, but then it lagged almost every few minutes, shut itself down and now its bricked.
I hope you guys can help us out somehow. You can also suggest us some different tipps, because I'm actually pretty good in reviving phones, but this one really doesn't want to start no matter what.
Greets!
any solution I'm in the same situation

Have u tried software recovery trough smartswitch?
I was in same situation before and i solved successfully.but you will need another working note 4 for this method and a micro sd card 16gb minimum. instructions to unbrick your note 4( 1, you will need to download latest firmware for your model ( 2, a working note 4 same model ) (3.fully formated micro sd card) (4,odin software to flash firmware) once you downlaod latest firmware open odin in your pc and look in odin options for( T flash) tick on tflash and now put micro sd card in your working note 4 and unzip firmware that you downladed and click AP and select firmware file and and hit start remember this will install firmware to your micro sd card after odin pass put the micro sd card in your bricked note 4 and press power button for about 8 to 10 seconds and leave phone for few minutes and phone should boot automatically. If it does not boot at first time try couple of times.Once phone back to life go to download mode and flash firmware normally( without Tflash) i hope this will help. I have successfully unbricked note 3 n9005 and note 4 n910t with this method. follow the instructions take your time this will work hopefully.
Thanks for your answers!
I have a working note4, same model, so i think i will try your method with tflash. Does this method do anything to my working Note4? Because i don't wanna risk a second bricked Note ?
But first I'm going to try to clean the inner parts of the bricked one because i guess it might was damaged by water once and started to corrodate (idk if its the right word for starting to rust, I'm not a native english speaker, but i think you know what i mean).
I've read about that symptoms. They are often caused by water.
Do you think thats a good idea?

no this method won't effect your working note 4 at all but I think you are still not sure that phone is bricked or damaged by water . then make sure before try anything or In my opinion take to repair centre at least to know what is the issue.

I think that water damage is only an option, because the phone was bought used.
I decided to try the SD method and if it won't succeed i will try to clean the inner parts.
Just change Eklypt's first post to model number SM-N910G and it would be mine.
I have a bricked note 4, and it has the exact same symptoms. This is after a USB board change to fix the dodgy port.
I did try to flash it, but I am a complete noob when it comes to ODIN and I probably did more harm than good.
The one time the screen did display, I got the error message "mmc_read failed, could not do normal boot". (Not necessarily in that order on the screen, but you get the idea.)
I would like to try the "flash the SD card with T-flash" method, but I don't have another working note 4.
The main question:
Can I flash a card using a note 2 and use it to resurrect my note 4?
Any and all help would be appreciated with many kudos and cookies etc.
Tried the method above with (partial) success....
Started with a completely black screen Note 4, now I'm in download mode with the message "TFlash boot".....
But when I try to flash a firmware with Odin, it always fail with the message "MMC READ FAIL"....
QPST tool
Hi folks,
I have done some many hours of research on this. I have not had success, but I have at least made progress. :fingers-crossed:
RECAP: I am trying to unbrick an SM-N910G Note 4. It has all the hard brick symptoms (No screen, no hardware key response, no Odin etc.), and shows up in the device manager under COM ports as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM4)".
I read this post - (droidsavvy.com/unbrick-qualcomm-mobiles/)
This writer (Kunal Barccha) uses a tool known as QPST.
(androidbrick.com/download/latest-qpst-2-7-build-422-425-430-437-qfil-qualcomm-flasher/ <--- This link will take you to a download page which will list four versions of QPST).
I am currently using QPST build 422, and I have installed the Qualcomm drivers found in his post.
This has improved matters, as I can actually see the phone with the program.
Unfortunately, I don't have the correct files to make use of the QPST Software Download program.
I need a phone image file. I suspect it can be extracted from a working Note 4 by taking a complete system image, but I don't have access to a working Note 4. <--- Help on this anyone?
I am sure that just about any Qualcomm chipset can be repaired using this tool (It's the factory tool after all) with the right files and familiarity. :victory:
The catch? Don't come crying to me for files, I'm looking for them myself too!
Warning :- Don't download or install any QPST that goes by version 4.2.2! It contains a keylogger. You can find the relevant post elsewhere on the XDA site.
Happy hunting for a solution and if you find one I wanna know cause I wanna use it too! :highfive:

910F bricked..need help after creating.img on card

Hey guys..in fact I originally had one problem/question, but since I managed to brick my phone, I now have 2 questions. Hope you can help me with at least the one I need to unbrick the phone and later on, after bringing my phone back to life (I hope), I´ll ask the less important one. If you dont want to read it all, please go to the last paragraph to see the final problem and question.
So here´s what happened. As I was trying out different kernels on a Note7 ROM for my 910F, I managed to brick my phone. Originally the phone would not boot into recovery and gives me the message that there is a problem with firmware..as I tried to boot in download mode to flash stock ROM and get back to it, Odin gives me the message FAIL in red colour. I tried flashing again and then another stock ROM and again the problem persisted. It came to the point where the phone would now say that it couldnt read mmc (non-partition message in ODIN). After several hours (still counting) of searching both here at XDA and outside I finally managed to understand how to create a image recovery into a sd card and so I did it.
I used Win32DiskImager to write this image ( mega:///#F!QIMmFRIT!Ns3AM-n0FUoMqOOWUif9ng ) into my sd card. With phone off I inserted battery and then card and booted into download mode...SUCCESS...no more mmc message at the top left of screen, but still I cant manage to flash any stock ROM and FAIL message keeps coming. One time it said PIT not recognized and I used a SM-N910F_32GB.pit and it said PASS, but if I try and flash with ROM still fails. In the instructions it says I need to flash at the same time the SM-N910F_32GB.pit, a BL,a AP and a CP, but I cant find any BL and CP to any specific AP. Is this the solution or I am missing something here? Please help..my phone is bricked and my s4 cant manage to be my daily driver no more.
Thanks everyone

Hello friend and thank you for your reply. I don´t know how I missed that thread, but I´m glad you told me about it cause it had exactly the missing components I needed to solve my problem. But a new one just emerged with it.
I´ll be posting there from now on. Thanks again

Lets Turn That Paper Weight Back to an S8...plus

This is for those of you that have a S8+ that only boots into Upload Mode and nothing else. When you connect it to the computer it may should say Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. Others may have even told you theres nothing that can be done to fix it and that its bricked! Yes, yes, I believed too. I sent to Samsung who sent back the phone and a 850$ option for replacing the board.
I work at Northrop Grumman, they make B2s and stuff, and they happen to have a partnership with Qualcomm so I set up an account with them, downloaded official and latest QPST, QXDM, and QUD. I was able to provision the device using QFIL (unsure if required), but I was unable to flash anything with QFIL. My phone has been useless for 3 months now. I randomly try again here and there, with repeated failure and lost hope. UNTIL TODAY.
Craziest thing ever, and trust me, I know, it does not look remotely close to legit. IT IS.
basically, you do the captcha thing, it takes you to a MEGA download site, you download a zip folder that is named G955U2. Connect the phone to the computer while the screen is black and not on upload mode. The device manager should show the QDLoader 9008 in the Port section. Unzip the downloaded file. Open the folder. DOUBLE CLICK G955U2_Recovery.Bat. Do not run as admin, mine didn't work that way, only double clicking. Wait about a minute, when it says finished, boot the phone into Download mode by holding vol down + Bixby+Power. Not done yet though. SO you should have Download Mode on. Now you need to flash the Odin files, which I am currently doing myself. I have noticed a few issues but I have gotten almost there. I can only suggest flashing a BL first of your firmware and then after that's done do the AP. Once that is done you will be where I am at, and I will update once I am able to fully flash a complete firmware.
Downloads Mod edits am not sure who created that tool, where it came from, or who to thank. Alls I know is it works and is a freakin masterpiece.
Update: I have my phone up and running. On official Oreo firmware I am unable to get any network signals (wireless or mobile). On PartyCyborgRom I am able to get wifi but anytime I put a SIM card in it tells me to reboot, and does the same thing upon boot. I believe that my EFS folder is corrupt/formatted/missing. I have read that formatting the EFS folder to EXT4 can help and that it is mmcblk0p* with the * being a number. The EFS thing is the only issue I am having though. If TWRP were able to be installed on the S8+ for Sprint I would install it and format the folder through it but with the bootloader locked I am not sure its possible. Possibly thinking about completely resetting the phone back to the QDLoader and starting from complete scratch and seeing if I can format the EFS folder before flashing a firmware. Anyone know how to fix the EFS thing?
After flashing first the BL and then the AP separately I was able to flash AP+CP+CSC+BL all at once. I have now fully booted. At first, it will go into recovery and then say failed due to something about mounting an efl folder or something. What I did was mount the system and then factory reset. Then rebooted to phone, and voila. I am not sure if wifi is working just yet or what else may not work. I do know I have booted and am further than I have been before and should be much easier to fix now. I'll keep updated.
Would've been better if you posted the Mega link instead of having to jump through hoops.

I didn't want to overstep the original poster/possibly creator feet. I figured if they wanted the captcha then they should get the captcha because I would've never found it directly to the mega link, nor would have you.

UNTIL TODAY.

there are adb codes to zero it out i just went through a corupted efs but had a backup i made in Flashfire a while back
@elliwigy might be able to help on this to as I know he has done some edl stuff
i can tell you one thing you should NOT do is mess with your efs partition.. itstores lots of information such as imei information which you shouldnt "wipe" unless you have backups and a way to restore it
try flashing a full combination firmware then back to full rom..
try flashing cp and csc files from stock firmware etc
9008 mode is EDL mode. those files are nothing new, in fact i havethe same exact files and more.. if u dont know what youre doing i wouldnt use edl more than u have to as you can do moredamagethan harm and maybe harm even edl cant recover from (yes, i bricked a hard brick in edl and had to replace the whole device)

These files are what got me out of a brick. I was in EDL from flashing a bootloader with Flashfire. Could not get the device to do anything but get into upload mode or the qdloader mode. That's what these files were for, for those who could not get out of the QDLoader thing. And I tried everything from Combo Factory Binary to qualfast, flash image loader, snapdragon flash tool, qcomm, heimdall, qcom, efs professional, DFU, DFS, Samsung PST SW DLL, CDMA Workshop, CHMC PST, Gtran, PSTlite, CDMA universal, VK Mobile, Symbian Flashing Tool, QFIL, QPST, emmc. Nothing got me out of the EDL except that link. And it was just as simple as two clicks.
As for the EFS folder, I was able to reformat the EFS so that in recovery it no longer said "unable to mount /efs" and I could do a factory reset without any mount warnings. I tried restoring a backup of another s8+, doing the erase everything but two folders in the EFS folder and flashing a combo in the AP slot and then a official firmware, nothing was able to bring back an IMEI as it displayed all 0s. There may be a way, I tried programming the IMEI with various tools. I ended up talking to sprint to have them attempt to reactivate the device on my account, while doing that I added TEP (protection plan), in the midst of trying to activate they became aware that I had 0s for my IMEI and advised I take it into a store. I did just that and it would of been a free replacement but I had a teeny unrelated smidge of a crack on the top right corner so I have to pay 140$ for a replacement/repair. I'm sure it'll be a replacement because as you said, without a backup of the EFS its pretty tough to get it back.
if u read my post i said i wouldnt use edl more than u have to if u dont kno wat ur doing.. if ur stuck in edl mode then u had no other choice..
that is what edl mode is used for, to recover from bricks..
however, u clearly wiped ur efs in the process andtheres no way to recover that so not sure y ur still trying to wipe it or recover it lol.. theresno way to recover efs if u never backed it up in the first place.. flashing random files will not magically repopulate it unfortunately
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/fix-...fibluetooth-issues-restoring-twrp-backup/amp/ there are numerous other methods for rebuilding efs folder.
