I am using an AT&T SM-G935A on Cricket, but unsurprisingly I can't get the OTA updates to install. I was able to use Odin 3.12 to apply the APG1 update, but it ended up wiping my phone in the process. Is there a ZIP file for the August APH1 update yet. My phone is unlocked but not rooted.

Just use venoms July update zip and let update to the August one. Worked great for me

your going to have to odin the updates. no one is making flashable zips of the roms and if they were youd have to be rooted and use flashfire about 110% of the time.
Is there an ODIN update for the August patch yet?

I was able to get my phone updated to the August patch by visiting the Samsung Store at my local Best Buy.

I may be helpful to have a little note indicating which version you need to be on for each particular OTA to work.
Based on past Nexus devices, you could have multiple OTAs to a particular version. For example, you could have an OTA to NPF26J (from NDE63V) or you could potentially have an OTA to NPF26J (from NDE63U).
As an example, here is the Nexus 5 thread.

I just received security patch update in 60mb.
Everything running very smooth so far no issues.

ODIN flashable version is up on SamMobile website. I downloaded it, flashed it, then re-installed TWRP recovery and also was able to re-root the phone after the upgrade.

I'm a relative noob to flashing rom's. Can someone tell me if I'm understanding this correctly?
Installing this update will *unroot* my phone? So after installing this update through odin, I will need to install twrp again while in download mode? And then, once that's installed, reroot my phone?

Yes it wil unroot your device you have to flash twrp and root again.
I am getting excellent battery life with this new update no heating issues at all.

Well I know cricket uses at&t so that's why I'm kinda curious about it being a TMobile update..
As of 3:45 a.m. this morning I couldn't believe what I was seeing thanks Verizon it's about time still messing around with it (7.1.1.) I'll let you know how it goes like it so far oh yeah I'm on the east coast S.C. THANKS AGAIN AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE!!!

Safe way is to flash everything from bootloader with a full package... OTA is to be avoided if you modified system and recovery.

Safest way is to flash my 7.1.1 stock rom, if you decide you don't like 7.1.1 you can safely move back or forth to any rom. Taking the OTA means you can't or should downgrade or you could end up hard bricked.

Yeah, I see. But the latest avaible full RETEU firmware is NPN25.137-24-1 and flashing this is not safe. Can I flash RETAIL april patch instead?
Got the update too but is your home button with Google animation? Mine turned into pixel home button 2 hours after the update

What did you use to root the Verizon model? I thought it can't be done.

It was a long wait but i got it over here ( netherlands ) also.

how to do that plz ? can i start the OTA and when downloaded i stop the update process, boot twrp, and flash the downloaded ota file ?

A: Yes, you'll recieve official OTAs as long as you have stock recovery installed. But there are chances that after rooting if you install any OTA then it might brick your mobile.
