Flashing to g930u - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Hiya, guys! A newbie here. I want help with flashing my g930v pf2 as of 1st of july,2016 to g930u mainly for the battery life cuz now i get 3 to 4 hrs maximum before my phone cries for a charger (below 15%).
So i know that i should root in order to backup but how do i backup with flashfire?
Secondly, which rom should i choose bcs smb here uploaded samfirm and the other rom is in the at&t topic?
Third question is what do u do before flashing cuz i remember from previous phones where twrp was available that i had to delete cache and dalvik? R there any other things that must be done before or after the flash?
And last but not least,r u using the fast charger function only with the original charger and does it really charge faster?

Can someone help me? See how disastrous my situation is : 45 mins on max auto brightness + music and browsing a lil bit = 30% ...
BTW thats with Package disabler pro,i disabled around 90 to 100 apps including verizon, samsung and etc..

S6 Edge+ CPU stuck at max 1,8GHz\1,29GHz?

Hi Everyone,
i know there are many very talented, smart guys here on xda (many even smarter then the ones at Sony\LG etc..) so i will try to explain as clearly as possible without becoming boring..
So, with my new S6Edge+
*I CAN (without any problems) : (i obviously have root)
-flash any official firmware i want (C\F\W...etc)
-install any custom ROM i want (through PhilzTouch)
-install any custom kernel i want (through PhilzTouch) -like arter97 and SkyHigh
i know (?) that these install properly(?) because in Settings-About Software -it says exactly the firmware\Kernel\Rom that i installed.
no bootloops for me, no brick...everything fine.
*THE PROBLEM (what i CANNOT DO) even with all this:
-I don't have the NORMAL CPU Frequency! (i get 1,8 instead of 2,1 Ghz for a57 and 1,29 instead of 1.5Ghz for a53).. even with SkyHigh kernel which should even have OVERCLOCK! (synapse says : ''illegalArgumentException: Default value not contained in given values.'') and shows all frequencies only up to 1,8Ghz.
-also the GPU seems crippled (with skyhigh kernel synapse controls go to 700Mhz ,but are not applying, with arter97 kernel they only go to 600mhz )...shouldn't s6 edge plus have 772 Mhz Gpu?
CPU-Z says: Samsung Exynos Octa 7420 1,80Ghz.. so i dont have a different CPU or version, just lower clock.
I also checked the Sys\devices\system\cpu folder : only the ''scaling_max_freq_KT'' is 2400000 the rest (''cpuinfo_max_freq'' and ''ren_max_freq'') are at 1800000 .. i cannot modify these files and change the security(read write) fast enough ... they get rewritten before i can make them read-only And in Synapse when i want to change the CPU Governor it cannot and says(example from a LONG list of lines): RunCommandFailedException : /res/synapse/actions//tuning[852]:can't create /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ktoonnservative/block_cycles_offline_screen_off:No such file or directory/res/synapse/actions//
So, i read on wiki that for overclocking (or any change on freq) you have to have Root (which i do) BUT ALSO write access on the ''SystemPartitions'' ..Question is, why don't I (and synapse obviously) have this access? And why can I then (because I certainly do can) remount for example ''/system'' Filesystem R/W with FX Root file manager if I dont have this write access..? are these two entirely different things??
I will now try to flash a ''PAC'' firmware...and see if it changes anything..
Thank you for your patience to read all this and for your answers if you have any ideas..
UPDATE:
Different PAC firmwares with appropriate .PIT files (except the G928G Variant which Odin just didn't want to flash) also didn't change anything (even with ''Re-Partition'' and ''Nand Erase All'' buttons selected in Odin): CPU max freq. still 1,80Ghz .. ;-(( The only thing I could try in Odin is to also select the ''Phone Bootloader Update'' ..but i read that this will mess with the primary (Samsungs) Recovery..which is the only thing i DONT want to lose..

I flashed all of these via odin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-...ject-zen-firmware-pit-file-galaxy-s6-t3179515
inside there are 4 Files + the .pit file
no errors when flash(and PASS! at finish) so I think they ALL install correctly ..Are there no modems inside of these files? and with bootloader- i thought the BL_G928FXXU2AOJ5_CL5943955_QB6592119_REV00_user_low_ship.tar is the bootloader file.. or you mean I should select the ''Phone bootloader update'' button in odin? won't that remove\break Samsungs blue recovery\Download mode...i read this somewhere ( not on xda..)

maybe it's important to add, that when booting it does NOT say ''Live Demo Unit'' anymore- just '' Samsung Galaxy s6Edge+ Powered by Android '' just like a normal one.The first days I had it, it also showed ''Live Demo Unit'' under the Phone name (like in this smaller s6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YARluwqhWhg -at 1:03)
The guy who sold it to me, said ''it had got an OTA UPDATE and now has the firmware of a normal one''-but obviously it didn't  Then at some point -I don't know exactly when-, during the INTENSE flashing period (all available STOCK variant-firmwares \all available custom ROMS and all Custom Kernels and a lot of COMBINATIONS of these) '' LDU'' was gone...
so I did manage to change something deeply inside..but unfortunately my brain\knowledge meets it's end here .. (i also checked every init. boot file or files beginning with the name ''exynos7420''- in /system /etc or /sys.. but found nothing relevant, and when I did - I could not modify\edit them)

'LDU' notification has nothing to do with in this case, its customizable(bootlogo/splashscreen) You can see mine in the attachment. So, If the Russian(in your added Youtube video) has got rid of this limitation of cpus, maybe you need to contact with him. I see every ldu user looks for the answers..

My journey in the last hours...
So, I sent Alex (name of the guy in video) an Email, asked him what he did with his LDU and he responded: ''Hi. Kernel arter97-11.0 and ROM official G928FXXU2AOKB Only not flash modem'' I am very thankful for his answer don't get me wrong, but he obviously kept some secrets for himself, like how he got Cyanogenmod (with working camera!!) on that g928x .... (and with that galaxy s7-worthy Antutu score)
Then:
It was not easy finding the right thing : first i downloaded a one- part Firmware tar.md5-- I learned that i cant just delete the modem file inside because the md5 will be corrupt.. then got scared reading somewhere that i need Linux to make tar.md5 file... Then I discovered ''Unified_Android_ToolKit'' and learned how to create my own firmware without modem..but the Output file still failed at flashing with odin ..i thought because Country difference (last firmware on it-Germany -new one -Ukraine ) .. in the process I also broke Download mode.. ..then finally found a G928FXXU2AOKB -like he said but as 4-part firmware.. ( until now I had G928FXXU2AOJ5 ) So I did as he said and installed it( http://samsung-updates.ru/SM-G928F.html?version=G928FXXU2AOKB [4 Files / Service] ) WITHOUT the MODEM file (CP in Odin), then Arter97 11.0 Kernel..guess what? IT DID NOT WORK -same 1,29Ghz\ 1,80Ghz in CpuZ and Synapse ..:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying: So I'm back where I was 5 hours ago..(and also in the last 2 Weeks )... I am desperate .. I think tomorrow I will try installing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...development/cyanogenmod-13-galaxy-s6-t3269984 I know..its not for edge plus but ..there isnt such thing for our devices so Alex cant have taken that ROM we see in the video out of his b**t ..he surely improvised..and i will too.
just that you -my fellow g928x owners- know ..we won't get any help here on xda with our phone.. all the discussion I started on SkyHighs kernel Thread was simply deleted... We are left on our own..
So i wish you happy solitary modding! (don't PM me anymore and ask for help...cuz it seems there's no help on this Website)..
I have also LDU with same problems. Hope we will find the way to fix it.

not even 928x problem : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zffch0zrR6A at 5:25
just some of 928x's problem :crying:
i mean, I can live without fingerprint scanner, or if it was 2,0 instead of 2,1Ghz ...but like this, my G Flex 2 with Snapdragon 810 is faster than this Exynos ..and my modded G2 is equally fast..which shouldn't be..(thats why i also bought this edge plus)

which alexey? the one from video..? i don't think he will be able to help..i already asked him ..he has a normal LDU ..and between us -he's no Dorimanx... he's just a phone- reviewer .. who knows maybe marginally more than we do..... we need a pro- developer, who is willing to analyze the Stock\Arter97\SkyHigh kernels and then compare system files from a Normal G928F (or from a LDU with 2,1Ghz like the one in the video ) with system files from ours.. But no one is willing to do that even when some money is in the game(i would, but i dont know where these CPU and Motherboard-controlling files are located)..i wrote this a few days ago on Skyhigh and Arter Kernels thread:
''Small bounty\reward for getting G928X Normal Cpu Frequency
I am really so pissed off about this frequency thing, that I am willing to pay (via Paypal Transfer) 50€ (ca.55$) to anybody who can help me get the normal frequency until 1. March. If he (or her) can make it this week, I will even raise the bounty.. Unfortunately I cannot make it much higher (like a 200-300€ bounty -or at least not alone..), because I already paid 200€ on this underclocked piece of....... ... ....engineering.. so if I spend again so much..I might as well have bought a new ''NORMAL'' one from the store (G928F for example) and would have spared me all this trouble
Of course I will fully cooperate, experiment on my Edge and will send (via Xda or Dropbox if bigger ) all system files needed for analyzing\modifying
So it's certainly not a fortune but also think of the others (because I'm definitely not the only one with this problem) who will be grateful..
Whoever wants to join my bounty(I'm looking at you- unfortunate G928X owners), so that there's more money involved.. please send me a private message..''
At skyhigh it got deleted and at arter no reply or anything...

I am flashing my fu*king as* off, flashing everything I can think of just to get the fuc*ing normal CPU frequency for me and all the people in my situation , and you MOCK me!!!????? THEN FIND A BETTER SOLUTION YOURSELF!!
just kidding :angel::angel::angel: but seriously now:
Why you say that? It isn't normal that I can install all F\C\W\K firmware\Kernel version either( for G928 admittedly) ..but i do can.. because X version is not that picky ... There were 50% chances that it would work..
Marshmellow 6.0.1 Experience
I tried this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/general/how-to-android-6-0-1-sm-g928f-t3324523 and I got ''Touchwiz has stopped working'' ...but only the normal Touchwiz home--if i change to ''Easyhome'' in the settings (via Edge screen shortcuts) it works ...(but it looks ugly )
Then i checked with CPUZ and still 1.8Ghz and also no Fingerprint sensor ...
so I reverted to Lollipop and Arter kernel with no problem.. So it seems that something is written in the motherboard (not the cpu itself)..Idk if one can rewrite this..
Well, then the wait for a s7 begins ..(or like I said -someone talented that will look into this problem).

Marshmallow Battery Drain, Overheating - Tips for the Galaxy J7

After updating to MM, I have a serious battery drain while surfing the net.
I looked on the net for some pointers and found this interesting article on Orduh
Fix: Samsung Galaxy J7 Battery Drain/Overheating
Comments welcome.
Thanks for your effort but it doesn't help at all.
I think the problem is with MM itself. From the first day of upgrade battery life is taken a hit and also has little heating issue.
Doesn't matter whichever MM rom or kernel I flash same result.
Now decided to go back to lollipop, any rom suggestion will be highly appreciated.
I can run some MM roms ok now. Not all of them. E.g the S5 Neo v1, MM stock graced and A5 (2016) MM port - these work ok for me.
Others give me overheating.
Some more tricks here .....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68274575
Good luck!
Sent from my SM-J700F using XDA-Developers mobile app
Will report after trying.
I tried with the method you described but same result, battery drain on surfing and heating.
To check this is not a hardware issue I downgraded to lollipop and no battery drain problem at all. I've talked to my friends, some of them have same issue on MM and reverted back to LP, I've got no option to do the same for now.
Just one question do you feel any performance or battery difference between Optimax 4.0 and stock kernel?
Thanks for your help.
Sorry for your MM woes.
For performance Optimax 4.0 is tops, but you pay a small price. In my experience it uses slightly more but noticeable battery, say 10 - 15%. I end up having to recharge like 45 mins earlier than stock.
The whole experience is "zippier" without overheating.
Some questions for you - what J7 variant do you have? Which region MM are you trying to install? Is it the same as your "native" region CSC? Maybe you could try a different region MM update?
On my J7 my native CSC was AFR, but have a long list of compatible CSC's (see pic attached). Not all had MM available.
I first chose XFE South Africa and the surfing drain was horrendous.
Then I switched to XSG United Arab Emirates and I was good.
If you have problems downgrading I can show you what worked for me

Thanks mate for sharing.
I`ve J700F and CSC is INS, BPH4 (Baseband is BPH2) with August security patch. I`ve some sort of overheating and battery drain issue (while surfing and receiving calls). This is a rooted Stock with stock kernel.
Is it safe to flash another CSC and if so, then which one I should try ? Or I should try to downgrade to LP ?
BTW, I flashed stock MM with full wipe method (as you mentioned in your post).
Thank you once again for this info.
Install the app I used and check if you have multiple CSC compatibility. Info on the CSC tab.
Samsung Phone Info on playstore
Or you could install a slightly older MM e.g. J700FXXU2BPG3 and see if it behaves better with your fon.

Yap, it has multiple CSC (INS, BNG,NPL, SLK).
But sotck MM is available only for SLK (BPG3).
BTW, Can I downgrade from stock MM to stock LP safely ?
Uncle Sammy may take a VERY long time to push out MM for all CSC regions.
Try SLK - you lose nothing.
Otherwise - YES you can downgrade to LP. I did it for a short while.
I followed these steps
* Wipe in TWRP
* Install a custom LP rom in TWRP
* Then flash stock LP rom using Odin
Flashing LP a stock LP rom first will give you a blank screen at reboot.

Well - said mate. :good:
I too love to flash different roms, but prefer stock - flavored rom.
BTW, I`ve read in one of your post (in S5 Neo Port thread) that v.1 is much better than v.2. v.2 has some sort of heating issue. Hope you prefer to use v.1 - right ?
And what about the another one ?
Hey, don't get me wrong. The problem is with my fon. Not the roms.
Yes, S5 Neo v1 behaves well on my fon. Like >>95% stock like.
V2 causes heating.

@dodo2244 Thanks a lot for your suggestions. I've flashed Indonesian version Rom on J7-00F and it worked, everything back to normal. But after using Rom's like A5 2016 or graced who would wan't to go back to stock. So, by reading your comments flashed s5 neo v1.. and it worked similar like stock no heating issue and battery drain like Neo v2.. (Not complaining). It just has volume bug , Is there a way to fix it?
Also please give some feedback about Note V2 Rom.
Looks like I'm also becoming flashing addict now.
Thanks again.
Yay?!!
Say MM ?.
Bravo for persisting.
Volume bug - his fix was to give us v2. Sigh! We can't make demands.
Note v2 .... hmmmm.
I did not test it for very long, but its very beautiful. Aren't these Note 7 apps heavy? Will test again over the weekend.
Enjoy MM on your fon.

Need Firmware for smartwatch QW09 (MTK6572)

Hi all. I got a watch qw09 from China without gapps. My attempts to find the gapps that works on this watch were not successful. Then I downloaded the firmware from Gearbest (v 3.2.8) and flashed it on the watch. Google applications started working well, but the application for calls is very old and uncomfortable, overall performance has decreased. I had noticed that the Chinese version of the firmware has been 3.5.X. That is, exist more new versions of firmware for our watches qw09. Please, someone make backup of your firmware, let try to update the watch on your version.
Thanks. And forgive me for my bad english.

Hi all,
I recently purchased a QW09 and unfortunately on day 2 of ownership it goes into a blank screen just after FunOS completes booting. It does not boot loop, just a black and black screen. I know the OS is active though because if I plug the watch into my PC and can see and interact with all directories.
First my question is has anyone else ran into this, and if so what did you do to remedy?
Secondly I would like to troubleshoot this before sending it back. I would like to try and reinstall the firmware based upon availability I see here.
* will this firmware work on any QW09, or is it manufacturer specific?
* does any have the instructions to install i.e. what tools/apps to use?
Thanks in advance for whatever help you can offer

How to reboot to bootloader or twrp? Did you ever get magisk to work

ZTE Axon Mini 7 Firmware

Next time read before doing With 7.1 there is no longer bootloader mode. Downgrade to 6. Also you dont need to unlock it, there is no better ROMs for this rom. Official one is best. I tried them, so you can save time and use official one.
ALso root not working well with it. I had root but somehow i couldn't delete system apps.

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, if so, I can start another.
I recently purchased this phone (B2017G) from Gearbest as well.
It is still on 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
I have been searching for the right update file, starting with the US version, since that is where I live, but no go. The bootloader says
"E footer is wrong
"E:signature verification failed
"E: open file /cache/fota/error_code error erno = 2
'Installation aborted'
Am I right in thinking I need to find the update with the right signature? I have tried US, Austrian and Russian official ZTE updates with no success so far.. Am I on the right track?
US ZTE Support was as helpful as they could be, but were not familiar with the GearBest global variant. They sent me to the global support site, which won't let me use it, since I'm from the US, lol
Any suggestions? I'm going to try the German update from earlier in this thread after I get home tonight, by the way...
I also purchased mine from Gearbest (B2017G). I believe the phone is for the European market as it comes with a EU plug in the sealed box, but not sure for which country. I tried the firmware for the Spanish model http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=D4454D33442F45E192A95718509F4586. The update failed.
I just flashed the Nougat 7.1.1 an hour ago from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73257562&postcount=13.
It already looks promising - the phone is very cool after update. Previously the phone is always warm, even in standby. I hope the battery life is a big improvement.
If you intend to flash this zip file, make sure your phone is a European model B2017G. As posted before I got this phone from Gearbest as many others.
Hi,
Updated to 7.1.1 by OTA 3 weeks ago when i bought the phone from Amazon.
It seems that we'll get Oréo later...amazing ! thks ZTE !
It is not official that Axon 7 Mini (B2017G) will get Android 8 aka Oreo. ZTE should do the update to Oreo as this is one popular phone still.

Once you downgraded and rooted can you upgrade back and keep the root?
Root is needed for this phone because it doesn't allow to move ANY app to SD.I sort of recovered the backup of my apps and data with Helium without root, but I need more internal space: with root you can even enable adoptable storage.
If only we can get access bootloader and flash modified boot.bin with magisk...
At the moment I can only use it as backup phone, my everyday phone LG G5 has 7gigs of whatsapp stuff that can only be internal, but most part of the 130+ apps I got are shared in the SD card.
I don't even need TWRP actually, just root to move apps to SD (or a firmware that allows it, since it's a firmware option...ZTE decision)
Flashing nougat 7.1.1 is the best thing I've done - it basically fixed the battery drain. I had to charge 3 times a day before the update. Last night the battery was only down 3%. This morning I recharged it to 93% before I left for work. At 5pm after a days normal use, it still had 55% left. It's just amazing. I think the update flashed out all the nastiest including the suspicious apps that come with the phone. I have no idea what they are - 99003, 99033, 99035 and more. I suspect they are malware although I cant be sure. They consume battery and keep the phone awake. The phone was warm even in standby.

Stock one
Got the 7.1.1 update...
... in a round-about way. Went here http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=6CCC18CC9451416C8A01BED5174B5762#software and it downgraded my phone to a December 2016 security update.
Flashed the Russian 6.0.1, (had to use the bootloader method for both), then was able to run the Spanish update from ZTE, directly from the System updates menu after extracting the 'update.zip' file from the package and placing it in the root of the SD.
Now running 7.1.1 and happy. I can still access AT&T's US network perfectly, so I didn't destroy the usefulness of my new phone as a phone.
I may eventually put a second T-Mobile sim in it if I think I can live without the SD card's storage...
Edit: I am running a GearBest-purchased phone with 'global' firmware, meaning no official updates available. It is possible that I could have tried to use the Spanish 7.1.1 directly, but I didn't try that before taking the route I did. Just happy *something* worked!
Still no root? Even a firmware where I can patch boot.img with magisk and repack and flash?
I did it with Ulefone S8Pro, but because someone here posted the firmware and it was editable and flashable without getting errors! No TWRP, but who cares, I have adoptable storage and Is essential with those "low" internal memory phones....

Don't update to Bootloader S7 ESL6 update (december 2019 security patch)

Just to tell the fellow users of S7 edge .. don't update to the newest december security patch due to huge battery drain by android OS, kernel and system (samsung process)
The new bootloader is also version 7 which means you cannot go back once upgraded..
Previous firmware S6 ESH5 comparison with S7ESL6
Avg battery life of 1 day (a bit more) / Avg SOT : around 7 hours
Usage: medium usage.. (no gaming/youtube/video.. mainly chatting , fb usage and whatsapp.. and light/medium browsing on chrome most apps put to always sleep.. no phone calls (only using wifi), no auto sync, aod and location services disabled and using dual sim - dual standby) on S6ESH5
Avg battery life of less then half a day / Avg SOT : less then 4 hours..
Usage : very light usage (occasional browsing/chat.. no gaming/video/youtube.. very little browsing on chrome.. no calls.. most apps put to always sleep, no phone calls (only using wifi), no auto sync, aod and location services disabled and using dual sim - dual standby) on S7ESL6
In my opinion.. this maybe the last and worst update for s7 series which samsung has clearly done that to push the users of this amazing device to upgrade to their newer phones.. I highly regret updating my phone.. and so i felt it necessary to warn others .. Good luck !
scheduled obsolescence is real and Samsung does it even with your best phones

ESL9 ESLA seems better for battery even if I never had 7h sot of my s7egde's whole life
BL got nothing to do with battery drains... it boots up operating system, if i'm not mistaken? Battery drain is related to CP.

Don't know about that version .. maybe its in eu region?
Really easy to get 7 hours SOT if you follow my usage scenario ?
Just put all apps which you dont want real time notifications to always sleep.. keep auto sync, bluetooth, location off unless you actively use any of them.. use more wifi instead of mobile data .. auto brightness always set on (quite low brightness on my phone) every other feature (whatever i forgot to mention here is also disabled)

people will infer all kinds of things from posts, thats the drawback about forums. you say something and think that the person reading what you wrote will gather the same information from what you said that you were intending. Doesnt always happen that way tho for an example, this post that im currently writing might be interpreted as mean, condescending or rude and it isnt intended to be like that in the slightest. Que ser a ser a, i suppose have a great day!
Hi, does anyone knows how to check the bootloader and firmware version? i'd already update like 1 or 2 moths ago and I've had the phone for about 4 months, so i can't give a properly opinion about battery performance.
I was doubting if i should root or not and when finally got decided to do it I'd found your post, do you think that this could affect the rooting process? Cause did read in one of the last post from Arona67's guide on how to root a8 stock rom, a guy saying he messed up his phone flashing twrp with a new firmware downloaded from sammobile. I had been stuck with a Galaxy Alpha bootloader locked for a few years and would be a shame if i can't root again
Sorry if i misunderstand something, english is not my native language, and the last device i rooted was a cooper(Galaxy Ace)!, so you can imagine how outdated i am.
Thanks very much for your help and have a nice day :good:

Yes , updating bootloader is not the thing to do if you want to root, makes things difficult..
Bootloader number is written after G935FXX or G935FOJV after these terms its either S7 or U7 where 7 is bootloader version , 7 is the latest version.. the problem you cannot downgrade to a lower bootloader number firmware e.g 7 to 6 or 5..
Its easy to find the firmware details , use about > software information.. good luck..

Just so I understand, today latest official rom is on S8 not S7 right ? How is this compared to S7, same bad drain and performance as S7 ?
As a total noob,Im asking, can we revert to S6 somehow ? Isnt the bootloader something thats flashable with ODIN if you have the correct AP,BL,CP,CSC?

S8 binary if not worst, is the same as S7 one, same battery drains, even on a debloated stock rom..
And no you cannot revert to old binaries like s6 because bootloader cannot be downgraded..
But i read somewhere once that using bootloader and csc of new firmwares with ap and cp of older firmwares works (i never tested that myself so can't say if you could downgrade using this method)
The biggest problem of updating to a higher binary is that if that binary has serious issues like performance / battery drains then you couldnot downgrade to older binaries (no guaranteed methods) and oems sometimes cripple performance / introduce battery drains in older devices on purpose ..
Plus if your phone gets messed up, and you need combination binary to recover it then you are out of luck as latest combination binaries for s7 series are also not leaking into internet/or in general availability..

Interesting.. I dont understand anything about binaries but i will attempt to install the following firmware looking at updato for reference firmware, so i can download it from SamFirm in a attempt to downgrade bootloader to obtaint that battery life youre talking about. It seems like this is what I need right ? It has S6 after the XX name. Can you please confirm? Also how do i check my current bootloader version ?
This is what I will attempt to install
Country / Region Romania
PDA G935FXXS6ESI4
Product Code ROM
CSC G935FROM6ESI4
Phone G935FXXS6ESI6
Later edit 1:
Interesting, I cant find the XXS6 firmware, even tho i input the correct data in SamFirm. It keeps giving me S8
https://imgur.com/ieM9CfK
Later edit 2:
after much researching it seems like SamFirm will only provide the latest firmware there is for your phone, nothing older. Since updato download speed is still trash I ended up on a website called Samfrew that has the older firmwares available for download at decent speeds (40minutes instead of 12 hours)
Will attempt to flash this:
PDA/AP Version G935FXXS6ESI4
CSC Version G935FROM6ESI4
MODEM/CP Version G935FXXS6ESI6
Region ROM — Romania
Build Date 2019-09-17
Changelist 14843133
OS Oreo
OS Version 8.0.0
Later edit 3:
Yep, it failed.
Attempting now a combination of "using bootloader and csc of new firmwares with ap and cp of older firmwares works" but i dont know exactly which is important out of the bl ap cp csc to have as XXS6
Later edit 4:
Total failure, nothing works. I lurked the forums and google for 2 hours now, no one said it concrete how they did it.. Where did you find the information ?

Binaries are just another word for the firmware , binary number means the bootloader number which is after G935FXX which is 8 at the moment..
About that combination of using different parts.. yes i read that here on xda..
You cannot downgrade bootloader to a lower number, but they described how they used newer firmware bootloader and modem with older ap and csc..
Maybe try using older g935fxxs6 ap and cp and g935fxxs8 bl and csc..
Or using g935fxxs6 ap and csc and g935fxxs8 bl and cp
Or try with g935fxxs6 ap, csc and cp and g935fxxs8 bl
Or lastly try with 935fxxs6 ap and g935fxxs8 cp, csc and bl..
I still suspect this trick is not gonna work for newer firmwares..
Edit : use samfw for firmware downloads
Edit2 : samfirm only downloads latest firmware
