If you would check some threads there are answers to all of your questions.
1. You can use Odin to flash the 930U firmware on a 930V. The 930U is the unlocked version of the phone that will work on any carrier's network and has no bloatware.
2. The most current update for the 930V is PF2.
3. Google released Android 7 only yesterday so it will not come to Samsung devices for 2 or 3 months at the earliest.

1. A Verizon S7 930V will never be sim locked. No Verizon phone will be sim locked. If paid to have it sim unlocked you were misled. If your phone was sim locked you do not have a Verizon S7.
2. There are a few threads with the information about flashing the 930U firmware. If you cannot find it you did not look very hard. There is a thread a few below this one.

How to use AT&T s4 on international network

Hi guys one of my friends bought a S4 in the US, It's AT&T locked SGH-I337 so can't use it with sim in our country (South Africa)We have two models of S4 here, the I9500&I9505. Was wondering what the right steps is to get the phone working? Must I root the phone and flash custom Rom & kernel or just unlock sim card? I'm not new to Rooting or flashing Roms but haven't fidled with carrier locked phones before. And is it possible to use custom Roms from At&t in other countries thanks in advance [emoji2]

The Sgh-i337 is basically the same as the gt-i9505 EXCEPT for ATT locking the bootloader on that model.
You CAN Sim unlock it so you can insert your Sim into it. You will have to reach it a bit though. It helps if you know what firmware is installed on the phone. If it is MDB, MDL, or MF3 it would be easier to do I believe. Either way look for the threads about unlocking.
If you have NEWER firmware then there are separate threads for it, and it will more than likely need to be rooted, flash a older modem, then perform the Sim unlock from the menu. If you cannot find the correct post I can help look for it later.
Just reply back with WHAT firmware and Baseband you have installed on the phone and we should be able to help you further.
If you do have MDB or MDL firmware do NOF update it...

Thanks for reply ,I have NC1 firmware and I used Method 3 on this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595457 .SUCCESS!
Could you recommend a modem I could try other than MF3 as the signal isn't that great ?

Not sure which would work best for your area. You can download and try any/all of them until you find one that works best. You can switch back and forth with no issues without worries

Flashing international Firmware

Hello everyone,
yesterday, a family member gifted me an s7 from the USA (SM-G930P). He bought the phone off SPRINT as a SPRINT unlocked version, and, of course, because I live in Europe and want to use the phone with a European SIM card I have the "hands free activation" mark that is sitting on the top left edge of the display. I also noticed some changes, for example the "mobile data" toggle is nowhere to be found and also I don't have the options to choose the network mode (2G/3G/4G). I love the phone and I also would like to keep using it, I only need some answers from you guys.
My first question is, if the phone will actually let me use 4G network with my European SIM card, or will I be limited to 3G?
My second question is, If I can flash an international firmware for another carrier and another country on the phone, and if so, will I have the advantages of that firmware, like the Mobile Data Toggle??
Thank you very much for your answers.
If you install the 'Network' app you might be able to change the network type.
In general you should be able to use an unlocked P variant with a foreign SIM but you may have to activate with a Sprint SIM first.
You can't flash the international version since it's Exynos and the P version is Qualcomm CPU.
I am not sure if this model has Samsung region lock which is another thing to consider.
If I was you I would try to flash the U firmware (US unlocked) as it has the most support for international 4G bands among the Qualcomm US models. It also doesn't have all of the Sprint bloatware on it.

Thank you for your reply. I am currently using the European Sim from my carrier and I have no problems with it. I managed to get rid of the Bloatware by using Package Disabler Pro, but it still sits there somewhere on my phone. So far, the phone is working very well and other than the bloat sitting on my memory and the lack of LTE, I have no complaints.
Can you tell me if someone has tried to flash the U firmware on a P model with success?

Could you tell me how you did it, or link me a guide??
I had bought an unlocked Sprint galaxy S7 (930P) off ebay which died on me. Got it repaired from the service center and they sent me a locked device instead. The phone is currently on Software Version - G930PVPS4BQC1 and the hardware revision is Rev 0.6. I'll be using the phone in India and have a few questions.
1. I need to get this SIM unlocked from a service online. Does anyone know of a reliable place to do so?
2. If I flash the U Rom on it after unlocking it, will I lose the unlock? (I don't mind downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow)
3. Should I unlock first then flash the ROM or flash the ROM first and then try to get it unlocked?
4. Will flashing the ROM directly unlock the phone itself?
Please advise.
...
you could try gsm zambia to unlock your phone it works i tried it myself a few days ago, also after my phone got unlocked i flash the U firmware/rom and the unlocked remained. so you should unlock your device first then flash the U firmware :good:
PS. if you one nougat better to downgrade if you can do marshmallow so when you wont have any issues flashing to U firmware. :cool

Flashing stock firmware on carrier locked phone

Hey everyone! I'm somewhat new to XDA (as in this is my first time creating/posting a thread) but I've decided this is the best place to get some help.
So, I have a carrier locked G935W8 Fido phone, and I was wondering if it was possible to install the stock G935W8 firmware from sammobile. I have read around that flashing the stock firmware works after the phone is unlocked, but what if it is still carrier locked? Can I still flash the stock G935W8? Or will I brick my device? My phone is not rooted btw.
Thanks to anyone that can help me out!
Welcome to XDA
yes, you can flash stock firmware as long as it is for the locked carrier.
Other firmware will work but the imei maybe effected.

Well, that's the thing. I want to flash the unlocked Canadian firmware, as in the one with no carrier bloatware. Will that be possible and have the phone working 100%?
I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your question, but I just did the carrier unlock on my new G935W8 a few days ago using basically the first website to come up in a google search. $25 USD; waited about 18 hours to get the code. You don't have to rely on your carrier (with their insane fees and/or waiting periods) to unlock your phone; might as well just do it. Having an unlocked phone is very handy if you travel at all.

yes, it will work for most things 100 %. volte may not work as it requires a carrier branded firmware.
you will probably have to enter the number for your voice mail manually and settings for internet as that is in the carrier branding.

Guide for flashing your G950U or G955U into international firmware

Alright, let me tell you my story, I'm from Tunisia, my cousin got a new Sprint S8 plus 2 weeks ago, I was enjoying it, I was so happy, but I was annoyed by those useless apps and spam from sprint's bloatware (Theirs apps, notification about carrier update that can't be removed, etc )
So I was so happy so happy that I was afraid of flashing it and ending up having a bricked phone.
So I had hours and hours for days surfing the internet looking for a solution, reading every words, everything.
Finaly, I can say that I have now S8 plus, without any single app from carrier, not even notifcation, not even a damn word of "Sprint" in my phone, a solid, legit s8 plus, even the connection and the battery usage have improved alot, and as I am in third part of the world, I have no use of Wifi call or some apps that came from Sprint.
It is a hell whole better.
All I had to to do was flashing an unlocked firmware, it is somewhat a bit tricky, so follow me here.
Before everything, let me tell you one thing:
An unlocked firmware is NOT unlocked network,Seems that a lot of people confuse flashing the unlocked firmware (which is technically "unbranded") with network unlocking.
Simply flashing the unbranded firmware will NOT unlock your network, unless you have done so before or after flashing by either unlocking codes or apps.
All it does, is to give you an unbranded bloat free experience.

S8: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/snap-guide-flashing-standard-fw-carrier-t3625817
I followed this guide, it is very clear.. follow up the section of prerequisites then Carrier switch, and switch your s8's CSC to XAA, which means completely unlocked and not linking to any carrier.
Then follow the section of flashing unlocked firmware, your phone model is gonne be g955u1 for s8 plus and g950u1 for s8.
I had no problem at all.
Q&A:
Q: Will I still receive the updates?
A: Yes, your phone will get the update from OTA without carrier bloatware too.
Q: What's the difference between g955u and g955u1 ?
A: G955u is US model and it can be for any US carrier, but G955u1 is unlocked firmware which we all look for.
Hope that helps, cause if I read the post that I'm writing it now 2 weeks ago, It would have saved me hours and hours of search.

Hi can I flash a G950U1 firmware to a g950?
Does it need root?
Actually odin didnt flash the g950u1 firmware to my sprint g950u for some reason. said device mismatch or something.
Everything works on my g950u on o2 uk network, but no hotspot and a app called sprint omadm is running to register the sim.
Update: I managed to flash the G950U1 rom and it works perfectly. Sprint omadm does not appear anymore.

NO, its still official Samsung Firmware, only when you install Unofficial firmwares and Roms, when you Root or custom recovery, just like anything that is not from Samsung will trip Knox.

SM-T827R (US Cellular) flashed with T827V (Verizon Oreo) - Working no issues

I purchased a US Cellular branded Tab S3 to use on AT&T when I found out they sell them unlocked. I also recently wanted Oreo on it and after some digging found US Cellular still hasn't released an update but there was one from Turkey and one from VzW. I tried to find a concrete yes/no if I can flash other variants of the T827 models firmware without luck so figured I'd roll the dice on it myself. This weekend I tracked down the VzW Oreo firmware and used Odin to install it on my US Cell Tab. The first round I had a couple of errors and for a second thought I had a new paper weight, but kept calm and ran through the process again and it worked!
Just a note:
At first boot it will say the SIM is invalid and to put in a VzW SIM, but you can click ok and keep going. Once done setting up on wifi you can then go into settings and add the AT&T APN and connect over cell.
Could you post where you got the VZW image? I'd like to try this. I can't believe USC hasn't updated their tabs yet. I'm tired of asking when the update will arrive!

Not sure that was a good idea. If indeed you did manage to flash the VZW bootloader then the tablet is now likely bootloader locked with no way of returning to its original state.

Was this verified to be the case? Also would the verizon combination file work on the uscelluar tablet? I picked up a cheap SM-T827R4 that is FRP locked. I am waiting to hear back from the original owner if they would be willing to bypass the verification for me.

I was able to flash the combo file for the SM-T827V (Verizon version of the Tab S3) to bypass the FRP lock. I used the one on gsm-firmware.com After which I was able to reflash the uscelluar firmware from sammobile. I don't know if this is exactly the same as the OP's method, but hope it helps someone else out in the future.

I've been up and running on Oreo (VzW branded) since my post and have had no issues or reasons to flash to anything else. I have tried to run an update but it says it can't register, which i assume is because it's hitting the VzW servers w an ATT SIM from a USC device!

You just need to put a Verizon SIM in it once (and so far only once) to check for updates. The SIM doesn’t even need to be provisioned. Then you can check for updates with your normal SIM.
I’ve had a VZW Tab S3 for over a year that I have been using with AT&T. I updated to Oreo without any issues with my AT&T SIM installed.
Wanted to first say thanks for the tip -- and echo that The T827R4 does in accept the Verizon Oreo firmware via the latest version of Odin, though with a build just a few releases behind it threw an error and would not flash.
I guess if we can't have root we may as well have Oreo.
Samemobile has the January security update Oreo

You're right about Verizon firmware running really smooth. Much better than the US Cellular firmware. After flashed VZ firmware, the model changed to SM-T827V.
in case anyone has the us cellular model, you really don't need to flash the verizon firmware because the us cellular model has a more updated firmware than the verizon model.
the model is actually SM-T827R4, oreo with apr 2019 security and OTA update works too.
though no pie update yet (same as verizon)
So these can't be flashed to the stock 820 pie rom?
