Was able to pull my ota metro pcs update from my phone - Desire 626 General

So I was able to find where the file was downloaded to and I was able to transfer it to my SD card. It just finished uploading so here's the link. Not to sure if this is the right place to post it or if I'm even doing right, but here it goes lol. This is for the a32eul models and is for metro PC only!!!

Maybe a stupid question, but is this zip flashable?

I believe it is. When I tried to flash it through twrp it worked perfectly fine. But since my phone wasn't the right model because it was rooted it didn't take.

[Q] Installing X note ROM, a few general questions

I downloaded the X note ROM and was going to flash but had a few questions first. I wanted to post this question on the official Xnote thread but as I'm a new user, I couldnt do that.
I realize the questions Im asking may have been answered already but Im not very familiar with the whole terminology and would really appreciate some help. First of all, my phone's baseband version says XXUENB1 and build number says XXUENB4. I flashed the official Singapore firmware from sammobile.com. I saw on the thread that the xnote rom is actually listed as NB7. So will there be any issues on my phone if I were to flash this?
Another question I have is about the file which I downloaded. It says I should check for a tar.md5 file but all I see is an ordinary zip file. I dont think I should unzip it. Furthermore, the instructions say I should install the zip on CWM. This got me a little confused as well. So I should just put that zip file on the internal storage and install that? Without changing it by unzipping or anything?
The main reason I want to try and flash a rom is because my phone's 3G doesnt work. Im not sure why but every setting is ok, it just connects using an Edge connection.
I would really be grateful for any advice guys. Thanks for your time!

No problem with NB7
Check .MD5 to ensure you downloaded the correct file. No need to unzip. Just place it in the phone and flash through recovery
Make sure you understand the rest.

I pretty much have an understanding of the whole process. I've used cwm before on my old S2. But I dont get the .MD5 part. The file which I downloaded is clearly a zip file ending with the extension .zip.

[Q] How to repair OTA update

I had my Tmo S5 rooted and I tried to OTA update. I forgot to uninstall it and now I cant get the OTA. Idk what update it was if it was Lollipop or not. Right now Im on a stock 4.4.2 now non-rooted. How to I get the proper update OTA or do I just say FACK IT and reroot and just flash with a custom Lollipop ROM?

Make sure you're not rooted, connect your phone to you PC via USB, start Kies and update from there.

The link you gave me says its UK. Im in the states....does it matter or do I need to find one for the states? I have used Kies once before and it bricked my phone. I wasn't rooted or anything...it just broke my phone. So Im a lil worried to do Kies on this phone...LOL

It won't brick anything if you follow the onscreen instructions to the point. No it doesn't matter that I gave you a UK link. If you're afraid of losing personal data (apps/photos) make a full nandroid backup and copy that to your pc, then copy all your personal photos and files to your pc. Then download and install Kies and follow the onscreen instructions. :good:

I havent done a stock update...I know when you do ROMS you should always clean and flash...sometimes you can flash over...but stock stuff...dunno what to expect.

No you're not supposed to lose anything. The word "flash" in this context comes from the act of writing data to the flash based ROM chips. So to "flash" means to "write".
I told you to make a full backup in recovery and a manual backup of your files just in case you are worried. But it's always good to make backups.
Generally when flashing roms, I follow these three simple steps:
1 Make a full backup of your current rom in recovery
2 Flash new rom without wiping (aka dirtyflash), see if it works
3 Only if apps start bugging and crashing do a full wipe and flash new rom again

Marshmallow for rooted device???

Does anyone know any other way to get marshmallow on my rooted device? I have TWRP on there and am trying to side-load, but everytime i click on adb sideload on my phone, the phone disappears from my computer. I have tried many things to no avail. I apologize if this has already been asked elsewhere. TIA!

You could use the return to stock tool in the development section and just take the OTA. Then you can just reflash TWRP.
Thanks for the quick response, but I have done that a couple of times and i have received the OTA, but the install always fails. I am using the RTS program that has the file that starts out with CLARK_RETUS_5.1.1_LPH23.116-18.......... Is there another that i should be using? BTW, I am on the European 1572 variant if that matters. Thanks again for the reply!
I've got the same problem, I'm on the 1572 instead of the 1575 and not sure on what to do with the return to stock tool
I just went through this yesterday. I tried the twrp but got no WiFi even with flashing the modem. I tried return to stick and failed the first time. I tried return to stick the second time but flashed the modem file by itself again and then the MM upgrade worked. That is the only thing I did differently.

dont use the return to stock tool for the xt1575 on the xt1572, you need to get the xt1572 firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/pure-firmware-tuff-wip-t3224833 get it, and unzip it, then get this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzsA17IjC5k2Y203VklsVDhseDQ/view?usp=sharing and put it in the same directory, make sure you have fastboot installed system wide, otherwise put the files in the same directory as the images, boot the phone into fastboot mode (power + vol down), plug into computer, and run the flash-all batch script, once done, the phone should reboot into stock 5.1.1

no problem oaklands! Thanks for trying to help out! I believe I have flashed to 5.1.1 alright, but for some reason I can't update. It don't seem like my modem wants to work or something. I flashed a new one and everything. Any thoughts? TIA
I am interesting also,
I have rooted EU version 1572, and cant wait for Marshmallow. Is there a solution to update from Lollipop to Marshamallow right now?

I can only tell you the only thing I did differently after returning to stock was to flash the non-hlos.bin file in fastboot a second time. I believe that is the correct file name. I am not at home to verify. That is all it took for me. I would try again. I have seen others that have repeated steps that did not work the first time to have it work the next time.
Keep in mind I am on US 1575 version but I don't see why it wouldn't work for you as long as you have the proper files. I would initially get to 15 or 20% and it would just fail with no error code.

Stock bootoloader for Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V

Hi community
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930V with Android 7.0. I tried to get root but first I had to unlock bootloader. I flashed the "Engineer Bootloader" (a file named Samsung_G930x_QC_Rooted_BOOT.TAR) with Odin for engineering bootloader and no problem then the phone reboot. There comes the problem, the phone is on a bootloop, it shows the screen "Samsung Galaxy S7" and restart again, over and over.
People suggest to go to recovery mode and wipe data and factory reset, I already did that but it didn't work.
I'm sure that flash the complete ROM again will solve the problem but the ROM is 2.50 GB and my Internet connection is very very slow so I can't download it. Maybe flashing just the custom boot.img the problem gets solved, can somebody bring me just that file? Please I need it really much.
Thank you very much.
From the way the file name is written, it looks like the Marshmallow kernel, which is not the correct one for Nougat. Try flashing this in the AP slot in Odin. This is the correct root kernel for Nougat. The phone may bootloop a couple times after flashing this before completely booting.
Note: We are talking about engineering kernels, not bootloaders.
dude, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! you saved my life. I don't understand why people post tutorials with wrong files. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AGAIN.

Hi I was just experimenting with the Verizon Recovery Utility tools on windows 10 on the computer and noticed it was temporary copying ALL BL, AP, CSC ext. Well I selected it and copied in another folder before it could erase the files when done flashing my S7 verizon back to stock. It worked! I got all the files straight from Verizon's official tool. Since windows will throw a error message to anything trying to delete files in use, when verizon tool tried to erase the temp stock files, it denied it since the file was in use by me. Aka copying to another folder as the verizon tool downloaded the files I was right there copying the files mid download and the computer let the files finish download complete and it ended up being I got the files. Im proud of myself. Lol! Being new at this.
So someone just tell me what I do to get you all a copy. They are the most current stock files from verizon. I uploaded them all into Onedrive already so files are safe just waiting for the moment someone needs them and tells me how to upload them. I see androidhostfile or something site. Can I use that one? Even though Im new at this?
Here is my screen shot of my new files.

HTC 10 Verizon Oreo OTA or Backup Needed

I just bought a used sim unlocked HTC 10 Verizon off eBay yesterday, it was shipped with marshmallow firmware and I successfully managed to update it to the 7.0 nougat through htc sync manager, however after updating it to 7.0 sync manager shows that the phone is updated to the latest version and there aren't any further updates available, we all know that verizon released an 8.0 update as well for the htc 10. Also, I tried updating through OTA but whenever I press on check updates it says "Cannot connect, we had trouble checking for the system updates." Can anybody provide me with an SD card backup or anything so that I can update my phone to 8.0 officially without losing data? I just want to update it to 8.0 and nothing else, don't want to root it or anything. So far the device seems amazing.
Some information about my phone:
Model Number: HTC 6545LVW
Current Software Version: 2.41.605.36

It's a zip file so you'll need to rename to 2PS6IMG.zip, put it on the root of your SD card and boot to download mode.

You need to download htc_fastboot from HTC dev. I'm not sure the commands tho but im sure if you google it it will come up. Htc_fastboot allows flashing bigger files. Or just go to the shops today and get an SD card which is the easy way.
