bug in UAE MM, quick settings - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

As the title says, there's no quick settings on my tablet, when i upgraded my rom to mm, it's th same one as per galaxy s6, waiting for a fix maybe...

Salam alikoum
Mine is a german one, still waiting for the mm update, please tell me, is it holding up well like lollipop? Things are rock solid for me right now, I hope that the update keeps things as they are, specially battery life.
Ps : My grand parents lives in Dalass, centre ville

no it isn't yet, no twrp, and no root, wait until there's one for the us version, it will goes down well after that.

Well, I just wanted to ask you about the overall experience with marshmallow, I do not intend to root or flash custom kernels or recoveries.
And by the way I am Stayfi too[emoji14](i think you didn't get it when i told you that my parents are from Cité dalass)

Marshmallow H815520A available on LG Bridge for TWN

checked devtester http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=Taiwan
and sure enough there's a new firmware when I checked LG Bridge.
No OTA notification for me yet though
if only we could root
Absolutely no interest in Marshmallow unless we finally get a bootloader unlock for the TWN variant.
Absolutely love my G4, but I have no respect for their decision to simply ignore the wishes of developers/people who want to use their phone how THEY want.
Poor form LG, poor form indeed.
Weirdly it was there Last night on my netbook but it refused to Work as it didn't have enough ram available. Today on Work computer it said no update available! Looks like they pulled it again
And when I tried again just there now again it's gone! Update withdrawn: AGAIN!
is there any KDZ available that we could flash using LGUP?

Same! I absolutely love my G4 but bcoz of this ridiculous decision of theirs I will never buy another one and will steer everyone I know away from them. The way they are carrying on you would think they were worried everyone in the world wants to unlock their bootloaders but it's only enthusiasts and devs, the very people they should be making happy as it's us that spreads word of mouth recommendations. Which is the best form of marketing. I updated to MM bcoz I've totally lost faith in LG and got sick of waiting for either them to have a change of heart or devs to come up with a solution (which LG will probably try and thwart). I'm joining the Nexus army!
i see the update available in mac versions of lg bridge but not the pc version. it goes through the whole download process and then the update fails on two separate macs. pretty frustrating.

Man don't even bother flashing marshmallow onto your phone. It's not what you think it is. I did flash using LGUP and what a mistake it was too flash the marshmallow kdz. You only get half the screen on time compared to lollipop. So hold of until they sort the issues out

Thank you for your advice.
It's much more smoother and no bugs that I encounter so far, a few days needed for doze mode to kick in. I highly recommend it, you won't regret.
I do think if they pulled it (or aren't ready to release and someone accidentally pushed it out prematurely) then it's for a reason. If they have it ready then why would they hold it back? I'll let them continue to bug test and i'll get it when ready. Lollipop is still fairly new and without better battery life I don't see the point of marshmallow at this point.

Looks like no Marshmallow love for the Note Pro from Samsung

Check out the graphic from Samsung in first post for equipment update schedule.

No love for the Note Pro. :crying:
Can't say I'm surprised. I was just happy to get it to 5.x. I'd be willing to be Samsung is going to sit on their hand for a bit to see if Apple releases iPad Pro sales figures and if they're good they'll build an updated Note Pro 12.2.

Seriously? This thing is over 2 years old and you're surprised it's not getting 6.0?
Meh. I'm satisfied with what I've got. If an update in hardware specs comes out in 2016 I'll consider an upgrade but otherwise this thing runs fine. Google now on tap is cool but not something that I can't live without.

To me it is 3 months older than my S6 edge and I paid top dollar for the SOB! It should get at least one major update to the next gen OS. Mine came with Lollipop. It is not at all a reach whatsoever to expect Marshmallow.

It came out in February 2014.
If memory serves, years ago (i think it was google i/o 2011?) Google asked major manufacturers to commit to update support for a period of 18 months after launch of a device. Since the note pro was announced in January of 2014 we are well beyond that time frame so yeah, it's not a surprise to not see a 6.0 update coming.

I'm in no hurry for Marshmallow. I was all geeked up about getting Lollipop. It looks different, but I have seen no difference in battery life or performance in coming from KitKat. Unless Marshmallow is going to introduce something really new (not just be a matter of a few internal changes and a new skin) then I'm good with continuing to use Lollipop.
I'm actually downgrading back to KitKat tonight just so I can root again. =(
What about 5.1.1 ? Can we expect this update for the note pro ? (SM-P900)

Meh . . As an advanced user with a rooted device and a few useful tools (Greenify and Amplify for Xposed) I'm able to get standby power consumption on my wifi Note Pro down to a near negligible trickle. I just forgot my Note Pro at the office last night; having unplugged it from the charger at 100% I failed to put it into my bag before leaving for the night. I just got back to the office 12hrs later to find the tablet at 97% . . it had sat on wifi the whole time and my emails were still all synced.
No doubt that for the average user who doesn't want to go through the effort or doesn't want to root Doze takes a lot of the effort out of accomplishing better battery life. Good stuff for sure, just not necessarily mind blowingly good IMO.
It's posts like these that manufacturers never pay attention to. They are in the business of making NEW product. They do NoT see profit in supporting previously sold product. Sad and myopic.
But...the note pro 12.2 has hardware specs that are hard to beat.
I can see the little guy in Korea going crazy trying to figure out how to monetize having made a great product that people, get this, "want to keep".

Odin flash twrp, then flash chainfire's supersu.zip via twrp and voila

outdated firmware

i'm still relatively new to this "having a non modded phone that gets official updates" thing, so the questions i bring up might be stupid
i've been talking to a friend that has the exact same phone that i have (galaxy s7 edge g-935F), his phone is on G935FXXU1APDH whereas mine is still on G935FXXU1APCD
phones aren't carrier locked/branded, exact same model, only difference being he lives in the UK while i live in germany
my firmware is months old too and even worse, according to this site ( http://www.sammobile.com/2016/04/26...-s7-galaxy-tab-3-lite-galaxy-note-5-and-more/ ) i'm supposed to be on a far newer firmware already, yet my phone brings up nothing whenever i manually check for updates (look for Germany (O2)(VIA))
does anyone know what is causing this because if i'll be stuck with the months old firmware, i'd rather root this thing and throw a custom rom on it
update: got sick of waiting and manually ODIN'd a much newer version on it, am now on G935FXXU1APEQ
by the way my battery life is a bit better now
Honestly, we went back to older firmwares for the battery life. Maybe your phone is telling you that might be a good thing for now [emoji23]

honestly by this point, if you're feeling lucky, you might as well just look into ODINing an update onto your phone by yourself

Nexus 6p again?

I have 2 more weeks to return the phone... The phone it's great ( price, build quality , screen resolution ... Battery life got way better Whit time and some apps disable) but it looks like ZTE will never release the factory images for us to play Whit the phone as we like on a way would hate to return it back....
So its that's the case I don't see any other phone worth buying now but going back to the nexus 6p since the upcoming nexus by htc looks more like a downgrade [emoji29] ...
Would you guys consider a downgrade going back to the. 6p ? I saw them at 399 the 64 gigs on Amazon last weeks and I think I should of got it at that price ?

I know there is a new big update coming (base on comments and reply from ZTE Community) and this update may bring the factory image we want, that's the only reason i see why they haven't release a factory image for us to play with, beside CM 13.1 is just days away or less.

U mean some one it's already working on CM 13.1 wow that would be pretty fast, honestly I would prefer something more stable and less ? drainer like the nexus pure project , it would be hard to port it probably ... Return it is my advice. Never get a phone based on possible "future" features or upgrades. Don't get stuck with a phone you hate because of wishful thinking that didn't pan out. I been down that path and it's a waste of time.
I have also my concerns with that phone. If we don't have prospect of custom ROMs based on CM or AOSP it is quite useless (for me).
Unfortunately there is not much development going on until now... maybe it's getting better as soon as the deives are everywhere available but maybe not, who knows....
fact is everything is going slow in comparison to other devices mainly caused by ZTE itself
Its going back tomorrow ?

Slow? The phone has only been out a month and limited at that. We've already got root. You haven't had a phone on day one much have you? This is fast compared to other non Nexus devices.

If you look at the previous gen Axon http://forum.xda-developers.com/zte-axon, mirrors this forum.
You have root, twrp but no custom roms. Keep this device for it's current list of features that's what you get for a $400 phone. You want custom rom, then Nexus 6P or OP3 will have plenty of custom roms to choose from.

im in the same boat but reversed. i just bought the 6p from bestbuy a week ago. its ok but the battery life on 7.0 is subpar and the lcd is pretty bad. the axon 7 looks to offer more bang for the buck. im contemplating exchanging mine today for the grey axon i see is in stock. custom roms will come in time, you have root and an unlocked bootloader.
Edit: just bought the grey axon. reset my 6p and ill be at best buy at 11am.

Am I able to fastboot oem lock when I am done with the phone ? For resell ..so the next owner can get ota? If not if I rooted with locked bootloader could I still get ota?
sadly i returned mine today and got a 4gb ram model g4+. i loved the axon's look and feel but the software is junk and i had nothing but issues with overheating and random reboots, loosing wifi and iemi. ive learned a valuable lesson. only buy phones with stock android.

How does rooting and warranty work on this phone?

When I got my first phone (DROID RAZR M) I didn't even know what root was. After a year and my warranty's term, I found out and unlocked the bootloader just for fun. When I got my Verizon Note 4, I found out about KNOX and its hardware flag that can't be reversed. I had to wait 1.5 years for root on that anyway, but I'm keeping my Samsung tablet stock for the first year because of that flag.
My question: does LG have anything like Samsung KNOX? If I root right now, will I not just be able to flash back to stock and keep my warranty if needed? Or is LG nicer to power users?
Since I lose all data with a bootloader unlock, I'd rather do it sooner than later, but if I permanently trip some flag by doing so, I'd rather wait the year.
I've moved to T-Mobile, so I have the H918. I know I can root and I've seen the guide, but I don't know if I should root.
Up to you. Should wait for root and especially TWRP to mature. Limited right now.

It's actually really exciting to see all the development for this phone so far. I don't have much basis to judge from, but it's definitely a lot more than my Note.
So there's no hardware switch that'll be tripped? Is root reversible?
I rooted mine yesterday. When I turn it on it says that the bootloader is unlocked and I will receive that message everyday until I relock it. Im not new to rooting, and im also not a develepore, but I was checking out some of the adb and fastboot commands and I'm almost positive you could just simply reflash the stock rom and kernel, and from there use fastboot to relock the bootloader. I might try it tomorrow for you and let you know actually. Because this is the first time I have bought a brand new high end phone to actually experience the root slowly become available.
@Rbiter is correct though, other then simply just having supersu, and the simple root explorer stuff, nothing else has been upgraded really to work on nougat, and the current version of twrp is said to be sketchy when flashing stuff because it was just released not to long ago.

Well I guess Google does a pretty good job of backing up app data (which I didn't know they even did), so if I have to wipe, it probably won't be too bad.
If no one has heard of an LG KNOX equivalent, that gives me hope that there is none, and I'll be able to revert, which is definitely a plus for LG.
Yeah well this is my first LG, my last android was the AT&T Samsung galaxy 4, and then I switched to iphone for a little like a year or so, but I've heard nothing but great things about lg, except for there UI I think its called? There touchwiz or something of the sort is a little bloated' but hey that's why I am so excited for the custom roms and kernels! I truly wish I had on hands training with making one or the other. It would totally be my number one hobby!
Ill try to un-root tomorrow after I over fill on turkey and let you know if I can get the boot up message away though and if I can I will compose how I did it.

My bad xD this thread is under the LG V20 so I just assumed that it was just another model of the v20. I have no idea, did a quick Google search and it appears there are some posts on it being able to be rooted, I dont like the hole Knox thing. They should just let us be free to do with what we want with the product we bought

Hey at least it isn't Apple, where you don't even own your copy of iOS.
