Native Video Calling outside of AT&T - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Can anyone tell me if there's a mod that will let me make a video call to another carrier? I paid outright for my phone and it's now carrier unlocked. I still can't seem to make it happen.

Tango is an app that will work..

Hii.
My name is Nayan Sarma. I own a Oneplus 3 from india.
I m using oneplus 3 with reliance jio sim. I would like to know if there is any possibility that i can use it for native video calling without using the data connection. If not why and if possible can somebody guide me in this matter or to related posts or websites. Lyf smartphones under reliance digital uses native video calling without using mobile data connection or wifi. Dont wanna use other apps that are easily available in the playstore that uses quite mobile data.
Thanks in advance and please forgive for my english.

3G service on Rogers with HTC P3600

Hi all,
I am currently in Canada with my new HTC P3600 unlocked phone. My mobile carrier (Rogers) just launched their new 3G network in Toronto this week. The phone on the 3G network is amazing FAST (1.5mbps down) when using the internet. Voice quality is VERY clear!
I am interested in the quality of the video call feature, but I don't know of anyone else with 3G enabled phone, or if Rogers has a test number you can call!!??
Any one else using their Trinity on a 3G enabled network that would like to test a video call or can share their experience?
ps: According to Rogers support department, they do NOT support unlocked phones...
Thanks
Chris
I live in Vancouver BC. So far we don't have 3G in our area. .
I am using the same phone with Rogers too, I dunno how I can enable video calling with Rogers, supposely it should work for other phone, however, I may be wrong. Let me know, coz I want to try it too.
I dont think video calling is enabled yet. Just the data.
Whenever I visit Toronto from Ottawa I get the HSDPA/3G with performance around ~300kbps. HOWEVER it totally Kills My Battery - like within under 24hrs using push email. Very bad.
Video calling is active in Toronto
I have just added VISION (video calling) feature to my plan. But I am unable to make video call.
You need a Setting for Video Call.. like a MMS,WAP need APN.. IP... setting
no you don't
video calling on rogers DOESN"T REQUIRE SETTINGS
make sure WCDMA is on in networks and the 3G icon is showing NOT E or G
Did u try P3600 Video calls @ rogers ?
was one of the first to sign up for the vision plan =)
so yes
im in the U.S. 3G area according to my phone anyone want to try video call
im in the U.S. 3G area according to my phone anyone want to try video call. I don't know if it will work since i have cingular as my provider to a roger phone up in canada? does any one know when the u.s. will sell video enabled phones? I have an htc p3600 unlocked works perfectly except i have no one to call that has a video phone
Damn Rogers, hurry up and launch this in Vancouver.
What are the plans like? I am dying for an unlimited 3G data plan.
****, even an unlimited EDGE plan would do it for me, but that's honestly not worth $100+ a month.

VoLTE support for MOTO X Play

Hi All,
Please let me know if VoLTE supported on Moto X Play, for Indian 2300mhz band.
Or any Custom ROM/IMS apk available for Volte support
One user asked this on Motorola forums.
And the answer was "VoLTE is carrier specific. I would doubt the phone*will support this. The phone will probably need a software update to support this after the carrier finishes its VoLTE roll out."

hi, Thanks for quick reply, some of the Mobile vendors are already pushing VoLTE updates in India, hope Moto also starts rolling out OTA soon
I'm with Three in the UK and VoLTE is only supported via Three carrier updates pushed to phones supplied by them.

Hi, I am using X play with jio sim and am able to make VOLTE calls apart from data usage. I would like to clarify your doubts. VOLTE is Voice over LTE. It does not need special hardware. If your fone supports LTE, then with a software patch or an app, it can make VOLTE calls. As for me, I am using Jio join app to make calls. Also using VOLTE you can place calls for other operators that donot support VOLTE. You can even call on landline numbers. This is achieved by using IMS systems which act as an interface between our VOLTE operator and the traditional circuit switch network of any other operator. I hope that brings in some clarity.

no mobile data when calling

Hey guys,
when calling someone, my wife for example, it says HD in calling screen. What does it exaclty mean? It cant be VoLTE because there would be a status bar icon which is not there.
I wouldn't care about that but my problem is that I dont have mobile data during a call, at least not on LTE. I dont know how it looks in other networks but could there be a relation to the HD call? Sometimes I really need mobile data during a call, especially when tethering with my laptop. I havent found a solution yet, not in settings and not online.
Any help or suggestions to make it possible?
Thx in advance
Edit: Thats what I found in OP community so I'm obviously not the only one.
This is 100% a bug/ issue. It's not normal behaviour for your phone to lose data connection whilst making a phone call, any decent modern smartphone should be able to handle this multitasking operation, let alone one with a Snapdragon 845!
I have access to three different phones, a Xiaomi redmi 3S, WileyFox swift 2 and my 6T.
ONLY the 6T drops my data connection when making a phone call, I have used the same SIM to test, so it's not the carrier. I'm pretty sure this used to work, as I make quite a lot of conference calls handsfree and often need to use Google whilst on a call.

HD means that you are most probably using VoLTE connection (technically you may have HD call on HSPA as well, aka 3G).
What carrier are you using? Are you using 2 SIM configuration? You will lose a network connection if your data is on SIM1 (T-Mobile for example) and you have second SIM Verizon and enabled Dual LTE in settings.
Thanks for your replies.
I'm on Vodafone Germany.
Single SIM.
If VoLTE is available in your area and through your carrier that allows you to place a phone call over your LTE connection instead of the more common voice networks. So it really depends on the area/location availability where your carrier offering.

I think it's not part of my contract and it never showed up in status bar so I don't know if it's really volte.

You haven't enabled VoLTE on your device. There is a long thread on the forum showing the trick to enable the feature on Vodafone Germany.

Are you using the stock dialer? The feature doesnt work with the Google Phone app ports.

Phone operator not supporting wifi call. Can I unlock it?

Hi, so I know you can enable wifi calls on your Redmi note 7 phone, but that doesn't mean wifi call will work. I believe phone operators needs to support your phone for this. I use "Onecall" which is based in Norway. They only support iPhone's, Samsung phones, and a few huawei phones.
Is it still possible to make this work? I really do need wifi call, and now I'm considering getting a phone that truly supports this feature in Norway.
I think it's an IMEI based feature, for example here in Italy with Vodafone just some devices can use VoLTE and some of them needs to be sold by Vodafone with a branded software, so the VoLTE will work only on that IMEI, i don't know how your carrier work but i think it's something like that.

Those commands is just so that VOLTE or Wifi calling will appear in the settings which I have already done. I have also enabled it of course, but still not working.

You need to have the volte service enabled by phone operator for your sim card. If working for some phones (ex. Samsung) it's like my operator (Digi EU), it's enabled automatically for some IMEI types. If you can, try to keep your sim in a supported phone, or try to ask the operator to enable the volte service.
This way you can make the volte working, for the vowifi... if you are lucky, your Redmi Note 7 have a working vowifi modem config for your operator... I needed to change the modem profile using the Qualcomm PDC tool...** https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83310915&postcount=26

Unable to make/receive calls in Xiaomi Mi Watch 4G LTE with Airtel India ESIM

I got this Mi watch 4G from china to india. I verified that this watch supports the frequency bands of indian mobile networks. I converted my physical Airtel sim to Esim and linked it to the watch using Xiaomi Wear app. I can see the LTE network on my watch and internet , sms working well. But calls are not working. When i call to this number from mobile phone it says "out of coverage". When i call from watch to mobile, it doesn't say anything just disconnects after a minute. I tried changing network type to 2G but it shows LTE only. Tried changing to 3G but it's not finding 3G network but in phone i can register 3G network.
If it shouldn't support means, internet and sms also should not work. So, please anyone have any idea on this ?

Hi, in the mobile data screen there will be a ESIM option as i attached in this screenshot. Using that i scanned my esim qr code and then the LTE network got registered in my watch.

Noted and thank you.
the local telco here stated that their package called AirSIM, no QR code. need to enable via the app itself. hence I am not able to try it, unless switch to another telco.

In the Xiaomi wear app itself there is a option to add activation code instead of qr code.. you need to follow your airsim procedure to get that activation code. But make sure you can see that option in the Xiaomi wear app before converting your physical sim to esim.
