I have a NOTE 4 LTE Edition.. Everything was fine until lollipop update
I found after the update that if someone called me. He can't hear me but i can hear him
But if i called everything is good
I tried to wipe cache partition and it worked for one call
I need a solution.. a VERY FAST SOLUTION

I had somewhat same problem. When I place a call, the receiver is not able to hear me but receiving calls the problem is not there. That happened after I updated to lollipop. My device is note 4 SM-N910U.
The problem was solved by doing the hard reset. Hope it works for your device too. Regarding the proper hard reset procedures, please google it for your device. It's very easy.
REMEMBER Before performing hard reset - Back up all the important files, documents , contacts, music and videos etc.
Things to REMEMBER after hard reset
1. Don't use headphone.
2. Don't use Svoice
3. Don't use speaker mode
Activating or using all of the above mutes the mic and same problem is back. I learned the hard way. I did those and carried out hard reset for three times.
I didn't use Google now, so I don't know if it mutes the mic. Perhaps, yes.

i have a problem in my note 3 international when i dial any number i don't hear the ring and when the other guy answer i
can't hear his voice and he can't also hear mine and when i turn on loudspeaker i hear him and still my voice is not going sometimes
when i make restart or change network type from 4g to 3g it works for sometime and again stop .
i make search and i find that this common problem many people change their board .
i deleted my mobile and flash a stock rom same thing happen .
my question is anyone can help me , if not how i know that this a hardware problem to guarantee it will not happen again.

I erase my phone completely and installed stock and custom and it did not solve my problem.
I find a fix for the problem using app called soundabout it can make the voice calling always use earpiece speaker but I have to keep it running in background I am trying to find what this app is doing to the system . If anyone can help in this is will appreciate.

I have a strange issue with microphone.. when i would like to make a video call then the other person cant hear me.
Microphone is working well in normal call, normal internet call, call recording, video recording, voice message.
If i talk on messenger by normal call and during the calling i turn on the camera then the other person cant hear me more...
If i use headphone then the other person can hear me in videocall
What i tried:
Reboot, factory reset, deep wipe, stock and custom rom
But no one helped..
Any idea?

Hi. I'm experiencing some issues when speaking with someone over the phone. I hear some kind of "robot voice" and the other person hears me bad as well. The issue is resolved if I plug in the headphones so the problem is with the phone. I installed crDroid with android 10 and had this issue, and now I have android 9 and still the same issue. The thing is that if I fresh install an android, the problem isn't there but appears after a while. Can someone help me?

Hi, I have a strange problem with my Oneplus 8 Pro. After updating to 10.5.10 the microphone is not working for all the apps. I can place calls normally, call using messenger and record videos but it does not work for Google Assistant and the official Recording App or Facebook messenger when recording a voice clip. I even tried it in safe mode but still the same issue. I have also checked that the apps have access to the microphone. I reinstalled 10.5.10 hoping to fix this issue but still the same happens. What can I do? I am also rooted with magisk but I don`t have any new modules that can interfere with the microphone. The phone has previously worked normally with root so I don`t think it is the problem. Does anyone have the same issue?
So you did go all the way back to factory reset correct? If not you're going to have to do that or start uninstalling one app at a time or if you have Titanium Backup you can freeze the apps. I'm sure it's a rogue app somewhere or something got switched in your settings.
I had same problem , i got my problem solved , just blow air on mic at the bottom , and also clean it , issue will be fixed !

Also install magisk module for enabling factory mode and test the mic , go to single mic test , there you test all the three mics seperately , enjoy !

I'm experiencing the same problem. OnePlus 8 Pro, except it's not rooted or running magisk.
The microphone works for some applications but not for Google assistant at all. I have tried all known fixes I could find by searching. Clearing Google app cache and storage, etc.
Also I find that the first 5 seconds of WhatsApp voice message recordings I make are silent. Not sure if that's related..
Any suggestions?

Hey @ananya_arora157. I'm not having an issue with sound playback, just sound recording. Maybe your video sound issue is a seperate one?
Just came here to also say that recently I have had my microphone working in assistant without doing anything. However it's now not working. I have this intermittent issue in other apps too, like DuoLingo. Sometimes when it asks you to speak what has just been spoken to you it works, other times it doesn't.
I'm convinced this has something to do with OxygenOS not providing access to the correct microphone for the app, or the app not using the right microphone. This happens with WhatsApp as well, as mentioned above. Please can someone on the OxygenOS or OnePlus team respond here? I've seen a few comments here and there of this happening to others as well so it's a known issue. It's a real problem with this happening to a flagship phone. Why are we just getting silence in response?

This also happened to me. All microphone related applications fail for the first 5 to 7 seconds. Then it works normally. Some applications such as Camera, Messenger, ...[/U][/U][/B]
I had almost the same issue but with my last xiaomi. The reset to the factory settings didn't work for me, so I had to change the microphone.
Same here. I can make calls, and voice to text with gboard works.
But hey google, alexa and all other voice recording apps stop working since two days on my op 8 pro

Exactly same problem here after the OS update
Microphone is working for some apps but not for others. It was working fine earlier but stopped working for phone recorder app and for ok google..any resolutions here?
It seems to be a common issue among many others, so OnePlus team should take it into account and must provide a fix ASAP.
Might be a good idea to state what OS you're all on and perhaps what mods you have installed then maybe a coming fault can be identified.
Also if a custom kernel is installed.
I have the same issue. Phone calls and video recording don't seem to have any problem. Only voice messaging for all apps are error. Go as far as doing factory reset but it still doesn't work.
Any idea how to solve it?
I just bought it for few months and the experience is great except this one.

Yes I found the fix. After all factory resets and downgrading OS didn't worked. So I tried to blow bottom mics from dust and it started working. So stupid but effective.

Well, in my case (and I would bet that in yours too) it is the Google application. Once disabled everything returns to normal. I will have to do tests if it allows to use it by touching the microphone icon in the search bar, but activating the voice command OK Google makes the microphone not work in any other application.
