I tried rooted and now I'm stuck at verizon screen - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

It won't boot past the verizon screen. I've tried wondershare dr phone recovery but it says i have to enable USB debugging and come to find out it doesn't even support samsung galaxy s7. SM-G930v. I have literally tried everything to my knowlege to get this thing to stop. Like pressing volume down + power and then going to wipe factory reset. Wiping cache. Everything I can think of. Is there any advice yall can give me to help me with this?
maybe there is a way i can flash something to take the verizon screen off?

You should be able to boot into download mode by holding home volume down and pressing power. Then you be able to use Odin and flash back to stock. In the root thread follow the unroot instructions. You will need to download the stock image.

thanks
that is what i am doing is flashing back to stock that is what my next method is going to be. thank you so much.

Solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But dont delete this people might wanna read this

[HELP] SGH-I337M Boots first into D/L Mode

I have a phone I am fixing for a friend, so I don't have a complete accurate history of what happened, so please bare with me.
Basically, you put the battery in and it boots right to download mode (Factory Mode), no power button required. I can then reboot it using the power, hold down the Vol-Down button and then I am prompted if I want to enter D/L mode, in which you can use Vol-Down to cancel and it boots like normal.
I have tried the following, nothing fixes it!
Factory Wipe
Root using CF-Auto Root
Every Key Combination Possible on Boot
Odin Stock Install
Kies Upgrade (just stalls on that)
It was not rooted when I got it, and now it is. I haven't installed any recovery yet, but am willing too. It has possible water damage, so it ain't going back to the store anytime soon. I can't even get USB Debugging to appear that it is connected, nor will ADB recognize it. But the USB is working and read/writing.
This isn't my first time working with this sort of stuff, I am just at my wits end, plus I'm a Sony/HTC/LG person, so if there is something I am missing with this wonderful(ly crappy) bootloader, let me know.
Thanks in advance!

If you can hold the vol-down and home button when you boot it up and get into Odin mode you should be about to flash the stock MD5 for your phone. Stock Canadian Odin files here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2269304
Also make sure to use the lastest version of Odin, 3.07 I believe. After you are done flashing with Odin you will have to boot into Recovery (vol-up when booting) and do a factory reset. This has always fixed any boot problems with my phone.

So did you go into settings, more, developer mode to check usb/debug?
USB debugging isn't required to flash the Odin MD5. One thing I did notice is that you should boot into Odin download mode before connecting your USB cable. I was having issues with Odin not detecting my phone and waiting to connect the USB cable solved that.

Duh...
I was referring going to adb fastboot
see the thing is that flashing did work fine, it just didn't fix the problem. I guess in Samsung terms I am stuck in Odin download mode when turning the phone on. This is why I wanted to see of I could push some standard reboot command via adb to see of it would "jig" it into place, but no matter what I try it always boots into download mode first.
and yes, I did turn on usb debugging

Could you have bent pins maybe where you plug it in? Its doing exactly what a jig would do..

Nothing is wrong with the pins, USB is working fine and can be used in any other mode. I got ADB finally, I guess it was just not playing nice with me before. However, still anything I try the bloody thing still insists on booting first into download mode.
Just an update, it is still booting into download mode, tried a couple different stocks and still no good result. Anyone suggest any of the options in Odin might help work? Like F Reset Time or Phone EFS Clear?

I have seen this elsewhere, one guy suggested, using Keis, and it took him 2-3 times to get the stock to stick.
As far as checking those items in odin, could brick the phone. he also said, he got nowhere using odin in this situation.
Have you tried maybe flashing a recovery via odin? could be the recovery is corrupt.
what does this mean: in which you can use Vol-Down to cancel and it boots like normal. <<< Can you boot to the OS?
I can imagine your frustration here...good luck.
I did try Kies and it would keep getting stuck at 10% (I let it sit overnight) so I had no luck with that...

Yes, I have gone from stock recovery to CMW and back to Stock and still nothing. As for you other question, yes, I can boot into Android. The downside is I can't turn the phone off unless the battery is pulled out. This is why I bought an HTC One and not an S4 lol .. thank god this isn't my phone, but it is frustrating because of all the things I've tried to do to fix it.

HELP!!! Stuck at X

I rooted the phone using this method (http://www.androidrootz.com/2012/11/how-to-root-nexus-4-on-mac.html). After rebooting from clockwork mod, the phone is stuck at the X Logo. I tried their recommendation at the bottom of the page and that didn't work. After step 12, I'm stuck at that logo. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! I have a mac, so I don't have access to ODIN.

I realized I never turned on developer options and USB debugging. Is that the problem? PLEASE HELP!!
Odin is not going to help at all as it is for Samsung phones, not the Nexus 4.
I suggest going back to stock and starting over.

yup thats the best method....or if u wanna really try ur luck...
hold power off. get into recovery (with the red triangle). hold power n tap volume up...should get u in a screen where u can wipe cache. also if u got a backup....can do factory reset...keep in mind when you load stock image....all ur images etc...everything gets wiped out (factory reset shouldnt though)
Just a FYI. If you only made it to step 12 in that guide, you did not achieve root.

[Q] GS4 problems

so my sister has an att galaxy s4. And she started having this problem with it only booting into download or factory mode. So after two days of struggling I finally got it to boot normally only after doing the download mode button combo, and selecting for it to cancel the boot. Then it kept on doing it after every boot so I thought i would flash the stock firmware from odin. This did not work as well and I kept getting "fail". Now I did an over the air update and as far as I can tell, it is still having the issue. Also I cannot get into recovery with the button combo to delete the cache. Thanks for the support and any help would be greatly appreciated as I do not know where to go with this.

Update: after the update it has now started to boot successfully without the extra steps, will report here again if it reoccurs.
problem still persisting
Well now the phone can boot into the normal stock Rom just fine, only after the previous method is done. Phone does not stay off after powering down and just reboots automatically into download mode. Thanks for any help guys, no idea what to do now.
Kind of sounds like some of the buttons are sticking. Maybe the power button (why it won't stay off) and/or the volume button rocker switch. You could try repeatedly pressing to clear whatever is making it stick. Also you can open the phone up and use a can of air to clean out the buttons. The only thing I can think of that may be causing this issue

Backup has bricked my phone, anything I can do about it?

Greetings.
A few hours ago I wanted to install a ROM (Don't even remember which rom it was, so that's great) onto my phone.
I do what everyone should do and open up google and search for a tutorial.
Step 1 was something like "The most important thing you need to do is make sure you have a backup in case your phone soft bricks", so of course that I made a backup.
I download twrp manager, give it permissions and go to backup.
I leave the defaults checked thinking that it's probably good as it is and press backup. After a minute or so I notice that it won't boot up.
So I press the power button. It starts, nothing is wrong, after the loading screen however everything stops.
Everything from the UI app to the bluetooth app, to facebook twitter and youtube. Literally, "unfortunately *EVERYTHING* has stopped"
Even holding down the power button and pressing "emergency" mode brings up a message saying "emergencymodesomething has stopped"
I try getting to the boot menu, holding down power, home and volume up, I see the samsung screen and remove my finger from the volume up button, after a few seconds screen goes black, not responding.
From what I've seen in the "everything has stopped" type of power up, connecting it to my phone through USB does not seem to give any results.
Anything I can do that does not include buying a new phone, or anything at all for that matter?
Oh forgot to say it is a samsung galaxy A5, not the one with the fingerprint and whatever but an older version.
Trying to do a factory reset with adb won't work because it says "device unauthorized"
Anyone?
Well thanks for the help everyone... /s
Turns out my phone didn't just boot from recovery, just that the screen was black for some reason.
Followed a video done the exact thing and managed to factory reset it

Same exact sht been happening to me today, id suggest using odin, as well as rooting it, I also tried to flash bootloader with a recovery thing, it worked but didnt fix the issue. The fked screen is a recovery screen not a bootloader i guess. Im still working on fixing mine. Going to see if flashing a rom will get rid of it. good luck
Try flashing stock ROM in ODIN, followed by clearing cache in recovery mode (volume up+home+power key).
If that doesn't help, a factory reset/wipe data may be necessary which can also be done in recovery mode.
If you don't understand what I'm going on about, I'd suggest to read up before continuing
