SELinux switching help required please - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Fantastic place thanks in advance for any and all help ,
Running nvidia shield console 16gb version 3.2 marshmallow , custom rom twrp 201602222 unofficial foster. TWRP manager paid version installed , #super su paid version installed from google play over su beta flash , SELinuxModeChanger also installed from download link in xda also installed xposed framework from xda big thanks to the devs
my issue is , that i need to find a way to switch selinux to permissive as TWRP manager cannot fully function with it set to enforced , i have downloaded and run SELinuxModeChanger however i keep getting a toast message which reads
App was unable to gain root access
superuser manager doesnt allow app to access SU or you dont have root at all. Fix this to use this SELinuxModeChanger
I have tried escalating apps permissions via SU but nothing seems to work and i am now stumped as to what to do next ??
I have been able to create a manual backup via adb fastboot but would really like to be using twrp on line back up if i can switch selinux mode
I have searched on here as well as google and nvidia forums to no avail please help a newb many thanks in advance

SOLVED
Managed to solve the problem by flashing update-superSU-v2.76-SYSTEMMODE over currant version now SELinuxModeChanger has su access

CWM Installation Fails - Ouya (!) Screen

I am unable to post in the development forum yet, so I am posting here. For the past several weeks I have been having trouble installing CWM Recovery. I've tried using the Mod Collection tool and manual installation and still received the Ouya (!) screen. With the new Ouya update, I needed CWM to work to preserve root. If you are also having issues installing and booting to CWM, the below worked for me.
Steps I used to gain Root, setup Play Store and install CWM:
Sideload and run One Click Root
Sideload Jrummys Busybox Installer & Install Busybox
Sideload and Install Xposed Framework
Sideload ModCollection4Ouya 3.6
Open Xposed Framework and check ModCollection4Ouya 3.6 as a module
Open ModCollection4Ouya 3.6 and performed the following:
Install Play Store and Select "On" for Play Store option
Install CWM Recovery
Reboot into CWM but receive error Ouya (!)
Below corrected my CWM Install Issue and allowed me to update to the newest firmware:
Open Play Store & Install Busybox Installer (Stephen Stericson version)
Open Busybox installer - smart install automatically installed busybox
Open Mod Collection 4.0 and reinstalled CWM
Reboot to CWM
CWM Recovery worked
Open ModCollection4Ouya 3.6 and select option to Preserve SU
Reboot then install upgrade
Good Luck and hope you experience the same results! It seems the Jrummy Busybox version didn't work for me. After installing the other version, CWM installed successfully.
Thanks for posting this, I will have time to try it to tomorrow, hopefully it fixes this issue for me as well!!

Where can I download Mod Collection 4.0 or did you mean Mod_Collection4Ouya.3.6.apk?
Thanks I will try this.

@Toxic_Dragon - you are correct. I meant ModCollection4Ouya version 3.6. I've updated the original post. Thanks!

I had issues with ADB and fastboot until i changed the drivers for the ouya manually for every step in the device manager.
THANK YOU!!! You are the freaking man!!!! I have wasted hours trying to figure out how to fix CWM and I couldn't get anything. Finally stumbled upon this post, and I am kicking myself for not finding it sooner. Thanks a ton!

I had used a different method to root and install CWM, but in order to fix the problem, I literally followed every step in order starting with sideload One Click Root. It was redundant and un-necessary, but it produced the results in the end by following step by step.

Hello Guys,Don't know if have any other related topic about it. I couldn't find it.
But I am using Mooke Rom And trying to install And Said that failed

There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it

Greetings Folks!!!
I am on CM12.1 Lollipop 5.1.1 Nightly, and ROOT access was working fine on my phone so far. When I launched Thunderzap today, I noticed that the app was waiting on "Requesting ROOT Privileges" for over 2 mins, and also the SuperSU app was missing from the app drawer. Thunderzap had been recently updated, and I suspect that might have triggered the root access to be requested again, but it wasn't given root access for some reason, and I never got a prompt to grant it root access. However, my other apps like ROOT Explorer, Shell Terminal Emulator etc, which weren't updated off lately, worked fine with root access. Not sure why now, but I thought reinstalling SuperSU-v2.46 might be a good idea at that time, and I flashed that file. And ever since I have completely lost my root access. When I launch the SuperSU app now, i get an error saying:- "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it"
Some help would be appreciated. Screenshots attached.
I've managed to fix the issue. I just re-flashed the CM-Update file (located in the pone's internal memory), and got some ROOT access prompt while trying to open Thunderzap again. Thereafter, I installed SuperSU from the Playstore and got my binary updated through it. :good:

[HowTo] Pokemon Go on Rooted Phones (CM13/PaulPizz/Jasmine/Stock)

I know this is all over the place, but I thought I would bring it here just in case anyone hadn't found the answer. I have seen a few posts about this on Reddit and some other forums. This will obviously hinge on having the unlocked bootloader. You will also need a file explorer that lets you view root folders just in case you want to make sure the binaries have been delete.
What worked for CM13:
Install SuperSU and use it's unroot method which should delete all SU binaries in /system/bin and /system/xbin.
Install phh SU and Magisk manager.
Reboot to recovery
Install the Magisk v6 and PHH SU files.
Reboot system after clearing cache
Access Magisk Manager and toggle root, it should prompt PHH SU to ask about permissions.
I have read that this same method works for PaulPizz and Jasmine Rom as well. PaulPizz has Xposed preinstalled, so you have to run the Xposed uninstaller and remove the Xposed app. Follow instructions from the Xposed for Magisk thread to reinstall xposed if you require it.
If you want this with the Stock Verizon image, there is a link in the Stock Image thread on page 41 with the bootloader removed for safe upgrade. I will update the post with links to the appropriate threads later today.
Credit to all the devs involved with the Note 4 and Android in general.
The method you've described worked for me on 0.35 PoGo. Then 0.37 update I already had to rollback.
I'm using HTC One M8, rooted, pph and Magisk on stock Rom, systemless xposed.
Now the forced 0.39 version does not run, leaving me with me 'Failed to log in' text. Please guys, work on some help I put my trust in you
I'm on Paul pizz and when i follow the instructions I can get full unroot, everything flashed, but when I go into Magisk manager I am not prompted for anything and if I hit the toggle for root it just toggles itself back. It appears that even after removing the super.su from system in twrp that I still can't get it to install.
I have also removed Xposed with the uninstaller and tibu to remove the APk. I can get systemless Xposed to install and work but not systemless root.
Any ideas?

I'd it's still detecting root, the su binaries haven't been removed completely. Also check that magisk toggles off root.

If you have xposed active, it may not allow you to toggle root off. You have to go to system less and deactivate and then reboot. Then turn off root in magisk. It's the only way I found to get it to work.
Anyone figure out how to install magisk on emotion 7.1 I tried and just boots to download mode and says it couldn't boot normal.

kingroot 4.9.6 problems

I rooted with newest kingroot i currently don't have access to a computer atm, it displays ads on lockscreen and lags ive tried everything to replace w supersu it doesnt delete it ive noticed the script tries to delete "com.kinguser" stuff i also noticed they changed the kingroot apk to "cafeuser.apk" inside a folder called cafeuser i dont want to just delete it because like i said i dont have access to computer i want to know if anyone knows a successful way to uninstall this new kingroot 4.9.6 and keep root status and perhaps use superuser or supersu without computer access safely thank you for your time
Be advised im using a metropcs LG K7
LG MS330 running 5.1.1
may help
When asking for help you need to provide additional information such as device info:
sdk
manufacturer
model
However I faced the same problem too!
If I understood you correctly...so first thing first.
1. install superSU first & use root to install it as a system app any root apps can do that)
2. before rebooting the phone....please install busybox utilities from an app called "Busybox" on google play
3. reboot the device
4. once successfully rebooted open SuperSU & grant it root from kingroot & try to get it to install its binary.
- if it cant, disable kingroot after you know superSU was granted root & then try again.
-if it doesnt work again...then uninstall kingroot & relaunch SuperSU & try to let it install its binary again.
I have the lgms330 with the same kingroot version, did yours also automatically convert it to a system applies? I've never seen it do that on my other phones. Also my PlayStore stopped working when the update showed up there. Lol only good thing is Google also stopped telling me it would hurt the system. I have the newest version downloaded but I'm terrified to install it until I get some opinions cuz I currently don't have a monitor for my computer in case I brick it.
How to download kingroot
