Will official and sharp version of Lollipop ever see the light of day ?

It is soon august in just 2 todays, I wonder will Lollipop ever se the light of day ? Lollipop have been delayed for soon 6 months or so,
Huawei get a big "fail" in this regard..
Just to make sure, I am not a beta tester I am a customer, which means it is not my job to be a beta tester and provide feedback to Huawei, it is their job to employ a team of "beta testers" not use "free working ants" who do there job for free.
Unfortunately it has taken so long that I will for sure think twice of ever buying a Huawei device again.
They are a good hardware company but their software lacks both updates and functions
Just compare with most Lollipop devices out there right now, even the latest MEIZU have a more fun looking look.
All the animations are boring as **** and non inspiring on Mate 7. On default settings the animations are very slow which make me frustrated, I have set the animation on faster speed but that on the other hand makes them less smooth.
It is sad, I really liked Huwei they showed so much promise for the future and did do so many things right, but it really feels they have forgotten all the million people who have bought this device it is not acceptable. By the time Lollipop is available for Mate 7 that Android M is already rolled out so no people will be happy when lollipop is finally available... cause then we are already 1 year behind again.
I`ll take a rock stable KK rom over a buggy L rom anytime There`s nothing i misss from Lollipop tbh and i ran it on the Nexus 6.
Perfect solution?
Nexus from Huawei
Actually I second gee. I have broken my LG G3, and bought a Mate. There is NOTHING at all I miss from the (battery draining) lollipop on this great phone.
Only thing I miss a bit is lockscreen notification - but NiLS does a great job here.
IF (when) lollipop arrives I shall update it - but I don't miss it at all
It will you just have to wait. The Kirin chipset is kinda different. See how it's so fluid for KK compared to other chips which caused some lags? Lollipop must have changed it 180 degrees hence it will need more time for optimization

I have been trying a few launchers this week because I am so dead tired of the apperance on the M7.
However I have not fallen in love with any of the launchers yet...this include nova..
I wish there was more multi tasking functions..
There is a app that is called heads-up which brings lollipop style notifcation.. I place these in the middle of screen cause this is very my thumb is normally.. I also use C notice in combination with it..this is perfect.. combo.. must have..

But most of 2014 devices have lollipop yes ?
5 year old android devices are included in your statistics, and these devices do not even support lollipop..
Wow it is 5th August today and still no official lollipop release I guess people are just happy with a beta version.

Speaking for me personally, I am simply happy to wait for a stable release.
I just switched to HAM7 from a Samsung Galaxy S4 on 5.0.1. I would choose HAM7 on Kitkat over the S4 with Lollipop any time. This is in terms of stability, battery life and performance.
Not to mention that the upgrade to Lollipop on the S4 reduced the battery life drastically and only a custom kernel can make the phone usable for a day. And these issues were not only on the outdated S4 but also in the S5.
All I'm saying is that I'd love to have Lollipop on the HAM but I would rather wait for a stable version than frustrate myself with a new update that makes my experience worse than it was before the upgrade.
Just look at the Samsung forums to see people asking how to downgrade to Kitkat soon after the Lollipop update was out.
Peace [emoji2]

You're right,
I had S4, Galaxy s4 battery life after the lollipop update VERY bad
It drops so fast, it was big mistake from samsung
Because the processor begin very hot after normal use!
That's why I would stay on KitKat it works perfect and the battery life is amazing
But that doesn't mean I don't want lollipop -,-
I have installed Nova Laucnher using Lollipop animations and also
Heads up notifcation (with c notice)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=codes.simen.l50notifications&hl=en
I must say with these two apps my desire for Lollipop is not as big I must say I have noticed a big performance improvement using Nova Launcher...
I recommend it to everyone.

Android 6.0 MM Stock - User Experience

Hi all, anyone here flash official MM to their device yet? I'm wondering about user experience. I read a thread on reddit and the top comment has me worried.
I'll copy and paste the comment here:
I'm on the beta and apart from the better app switch window, you're literally missing out on nothing. MM + EMUI 4 is glitchy and slow a lot of the time. It's a pity, really.

So, do other beta testers feel the same way? Let's talk about this...

Hello, I am a beta tester for Honor 5x Android 6.0+EMUI 4.0 for L22 (India) variant. It has been around 2 months I am using the beta versions (with different updates with bug fixes), and current versions seems stable. Although there has been a problem of excessive RAM consumption, the phone is pretty stable. We have raised bug for this and Honor dev team is working on the fix. Don't worry, we have rejected 3 requests from Honor in their beta survey to make sure buggy software is not released to the public.
The user experience is better than Android 5.1 + EMUI 3. The UI is improved and smoother than previous version. We have raised requests for new features like OTG support and more camera functions, and hoping that we will get all of those sooner. Keep in mind that by comparing EMUI 4.0 to stock Android will disappoint you as no customized UI matches stock one in the performance aspect.
I am happy with the current release as it is much more stable that earlier ones and still waiting for another update with rest of the bug fixes and requirements incorporated.
If you like stock, you may move to CM13 and other ROMs. Personally I did not try CM yet as there is not fingerprint support. Yes in just 4 months, I am damn addicted to fingerprint and I don't want to try a ROM without FP support. CM developers are damn good and they are working on the FP issue and we will have the resolution sooner.
Finally, whether to go with beta release, or wait for it to release to public or going for CM or CM based ROMs remains your choice. I enrolled to beta testing so that my fellow friends using Honor 5X will have a bug free stable stock software. I might move to CM when the beta testing is over

Same as what you'd say, Release is consuming a lot of RAM, Battery as well Data Comsumption Monitor is having two stages which is makin me taking two step enrollment to save data.
There i found a Bug/Error but unable to report with the team Dev where on Professional camera - No sooner when i ue Flash Light/Torch and immediately open Pro Camera to capture moments it says Close Torch App - Unable to Open Camera App.
currently running marshmallow (RC VERSION) on L22.
there are a lot of changes
1.the notification icons are now colored
2.recent apps are better now
3.audio output via 3.5mm jack has improved.
3.view modes is introduced(similar to dpi changing)
4.incoming call ui is full screen.
5.revamped settings, phone, messaging(white color with dark notification icons)
and all other marshmallow goodies like permission manger, detailed app info etc
on the bad side...
ui buggy and consumes hell lot of ram.
and lags while mutitasking.
hope all this gets improved in the stable release

Looks like EMUI, along with the bug causing excessive RAM consumption.
But with latest build, apps are loading quite faster than earlier, I am not sure which one did you try.

Battery looks good but not as custom ROM !
you get around 0520 Hrs of SOT ( Screen on time) on WiFi.
0340 Hrs of SOT ( Screen on time) on using Internet Data.

Not that much as you expect, cause this Build of EMUI where it shows up more battery heating issues when Data Background left on nuit this was not issue on EMUI 3.1

No difference betwin b352 and b353

Lets say that there is no difference betwin b352 and b353.is that correct?
there is some bugfixing mentioned in the changelog. also, the kernel version seems to be newer
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
Where did you find the changelog? I installed it yesterday but did not find any changes yet.
changelog is available in the chinese forums, as usual. also, a user reported it to be faster booting and smoother than B352.
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 NXT-AL10
Is the B352 not smooth? I can't imagine my B180 being even smoother. Damn, this is one of the fastest phones.
It's just a psychological effect. People always felt new versions of all kinds of stuff being overall smoother. GPU drivers, game updates, firmwares for all kinds of devices. Even if it was just bug or security fix.
Don't fall into that. It's like an addiction
also, B353 is reportedly better when it comes to battery life. no idea though, just quoting other users here. for the time being im sticking to B180 everything works, phone is smooth, SOT 9-11 h, cant ask for more ^^ besides, ill probably only upgrade once Nougat is out [emoji14]

[Miui 8] [Nougat] [Android N] [7.x.x] *ROM Port Request*

Can someone who knows to port rom, port Mi Max's MIUI 8 Nougat rom to our RN3 Pro ???
I know it might not be a big deal for a person who is well known to porting.
I mean i had Redmi 1s before this and someone ported Miui6 for it with regular updates.
So please can anyone help us out.
Many people on mi forum and xda are eager for MIUI 8 with Nougat.
So please help those people !!!
Thanks in Advance.
Yes we are,but from what I have seen,it does not have features like split-screen anyway. So useless for me.
Use custom rom instead, already 7.1.1 Nougat
@gohil.mitul what is feature difference between MM and nougat based MIUI 8 ?

Nougat has vulkan support which makes cpu consumption very little for even much more graphics.
For comparison OpenGL vs Vulkan.
It has Qualcomm's hotplugging solution called "MP-Decision" which can totally turn off Big CPUs when we do basic stuff like watching movies, listening music, surfing, etc which saves a lot of power.
It has a better support for Doze-Mode called "Enhanced Doze-Mode" which pauses or stops usless apps ans services when screen is OFF.
Support for latest Google apps.
Support for *Gender Diverse* emojis.
Unicode updated from 8 to 9.

MIUIs Plans

We Have Seen that as soon as MIUI 9 (N) was launched MI MAX... developers ported that ROM for our Kenzo....and we were able to Taste MIUI 9 with Nougat with all the features that MIUI provided with android N....
The sad part is we didn't recieve any official update for android N form Mi....And we will never get to Taste the official MIUI Nougat....
BUT****
I came across some post & there it say that MIUI is planning for Split screen and quick switch for the Mi phone which didn't recieve Nougat update.....but they won't update it to Nougat they are planning to give out this features on marshmallow...Mi has already rolled out almost all the features that were supposed to be on MIUI Nougat (the features which were showed in the presentation).
Reports say that split screen has has already rolled out(In January 2018) for China alfha testers and was expected to see the features in global developer ROM by APRIL 2018...But it still has no signs....
The Main Question That Stands Is...Will MIUI 9 Marshmallow be able to be smooth with those heavy duty features??
I have a 2GB RAM Kenzo....and MIUI 9 Marshmallow sucks the RAM like Hell I can't even run 4 apps without reloading it....but the Same Kenzo on Custom ROMs runs like a knife through a cake....
I personally have seen MIUI9 Marshmallow take upto 5-6 second to load home screen...which is disgusting....you can't expect this....
I have also tested the MIUI 9 Nougat....Epic MIUI 9 Nougat....MIUI PRO ROMs and all are not that responsive as AOSP based ROMs.....
There are a few Reasons for this
1)MIUI being a heavier Custom skin
2)Alot of bloated Google apps which can't be disabled directly (but is possible by third party shortcut marker apps)
The above stuff is all about MIUI9 Marshmallow by Mi itself....it still lags....Freezes the phone....
And now introducing 2 more features...SPLIT SCREEN & QUICK SWITCH....which are heavy duty features.....
Now I now that other phone which recieved the Nougat update are running good....but the case exists only for 3GB n up Ram's
Rather developing code based on SPLIT SCREEN & QUICK SWITCH for marshmallow roll out Nougat for Kenzo...what's more easy??
Yes now being a huge company they think in different way....40-50 % phone by Mi are running under Nougat which means rolling out Nougat for specific devices won't help them...but developing those features on Marshmallow will help as more n more wiser will get that feature based on Marshmallow as most of the phone so have Marshmallow.... Marketing Tactics
The main focus of MIUI should be to improve the performance and not to add bulky features which will eat Ram more....I know that MIUI9 is all focused on faster app opening...and being light....but did it really do that?? Kind off no....
Most of the Kenzo users have already moved to custom ROMs...as we find great stability faster app opening...more multi-tasking...the real power of Kenzo come out here....and no one is really that interested in using a OS that's 3 years old...here we are getting the latest OS 8.1 with good performance HDR+ camera hell lot of features....
Really I don't think bringing those 2 features to marshmallow ROM will help MIUI to get us back to MIUI anyways....all we wanted was to taste MIUI 9 Nougat and all the features that it had...and thanks for our lovely devs for porting ROM....and giving us such a great ROM..... though the development is slowly getting down.....
The only features that attracted me personally was FACE UNLOCK..but the way Ram management was...it didn't took a second to revert back to custom ROMs....and MIUI is planning this...
Giving SPLIT SCREEN & QUICK SWITCH on marshmallow.....rather unlock the bootloader of the the devices that has not received Nougat..and let them live their life in peace.....that's more easy then a developing ROMs...and creating a mess for your developers....let their super minds think on your upcoming UI and redesign stuff in that....
Yes it will be worth giving a try when this features come...but they won't be able to keep users over MIUI for long time because we all have already used this things and Marshmallow ??and MIUI9 suck anyways...
Comment down what do you think...

I have given up hopes of official MIUI for RN3 and ill say im more happy trying out all these powerful feature rich roms that some awesome ppl on this forum are making. Though MIUI looks fancy but the power of a stock rom is to another level. MI won't care much for older devices like ours and its better to give up miui.

Though MIUI looks fancy but the power of a stock rom is to another level. MI won't care much for older devices like ours and its better to give up miui.
