Indian LeEco Le Max 2 Thread + Stock Indian ROM 5.8.015S - LeEco Le Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

I got my Phone delivered by Flipkart and here are few of my quick observations:
Antutu 6 Score: 142712 (Highest among S 820 phones)
Negatives:
The USB-C to standard headphone adapter is included but still that is downright idiotic to push their crappy Apple rip off ear pods. The plastic causes ear pain after prolonged use and we do not achieve a good seal for best sound quality. So all these claims of hi-fidelity audio are meaningless.
The Touch-ID or fingerprint sensor has got to be the worst ever sensor in the market by a long shot. We cannot be sure if response time and accuracy can be improved over time by software updates. It is unfinished. During initial setup, it simply refused to enroll my second finger. Had to do that manually later on and also the enrollment process takes ages to register your finger.
Positives:
The phone is definitely good looking but on a heavier side. Got a black protective case to hide the Rose Gold. I am not a fan of that color. Built quality definitely matches Samsung/Apple if not better. I have not yet removed the original matt screen guard. I am waiting for Flipkart to deliver me a tempered glass guard before. I heard that naked screen scratches easily.
The screen quality and speaker volume is adequate.
Supports all Indian LTE bands (B3, B5, B7, B40)
I actually liked their UI skin. Finally a hardware which is not bogged down by software. RAM available is 2.3 GB / 4 GB (OS takes 1.7 GB haha)
There is a Transparent Gel case included in the box.
Camera is strictly above average but not chart topping.
No heating issues at the moment. Phone does get slightly warm while Antutu benchmarking)
Biggest: Indian stock ROM has no bloat apart from few LeTV apps.
Unsure:
Whether LeTV will release kernel sources for custom CM13/14 based ROMS in future. They must do it to beat One Plus 3 at their game.
Fingerprint sensor performance will improve or not.
Whether we will get Android Nougat in future

Be careful, this Rom is for Le2, not for Lemax2 x820!!!

I don't think that it can work on me max 2 ...

Can someone tell me whats languages are supported in Indian Firmware?

Thanks for that, Yes I love my phone, I have the 5.8.015S on my Max 2, from your description I can now conclude I have the same one !
From my point of view its International. IE I see no "Indian" specific branding apps etc.
From the marketing moves of LeEco entering the US market place and other existing 820 ports of Android 7 I would
suggest they will be working on it .

Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7501 vs, P7500

Does somebody knows what the difference between P7501 and P7500 are? As I understand both have UMTS and WIFI? Also rest of spec seems to be the same.
(It is not a mistake P7501! Not P7510)
P7501 is a new model (Name is Galaxy Tab 10.1N)
It was created by Samsung in order to address the issue that previous models could not be sold in certain markets due to lawsuits triggered by Apple.
So far I'm not aware what has changed in detail but I assume the technical specs remain the same. Most likely they only adapted the exterior design.
It has a slightly changed design. The software and the basic hardware are the same.
The speakers a repositioned and the silver-border is also changed (dunno in which way)
It got Android 3.2
Here's a link to it on a German site. It doesn't look that different. I wonder if it's different enough for Apple? Interesting.

If anyone gets their hands on one of these - please get in contact with the devs so we finally have some European 3.2 stock rom

May not work on other models out of the box. But with the right kernel, perhaps. In any case, we will probably start seeing more 3.2 ROMs very soon -- even official ones.
If they've done it right, this is exactly the same device as the P7500/P7510 with a slightly different frame and a little glas cut of each side.
it looks the same like this htc device http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/11/...s-image-and-specs-leaked-comes-in-early-2012/
It's up on the Samsung Germany site. 649 Euro for the 32GB 3G. Yikes.

I have one.
I've got one.
It has a slightly different design. But from my experience rooting and flashing works the same. So I don't think there are a lot of differences of the hardware.
See also my post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19878585#post19878585
I've got one too.
I recently bought the 10.1N WiFi, the GT7511. It features the same hardware specs as the GT7510 except the design of the frame. The speakers are on the front, the silver frame is much larger than the one of the GT7510. The physical size of the tablet is exactly the same and all accessories released by Samsung until now are compatible with it. I own the keyboard dock and it works like a charm. The tablet fits into a 10.1 leather case without problems.
The software is Android 3.2 with Touchwiz. It features several Samsung Hub Apps (Readers Hub, Social Hub, Music Hub), Pulse News, Samsung Apps Market and Polaris Office.
I hope Samsung will release ICS for this modell, too.

I think I just found my new phone, upgrading from SGS2. The specs blow away any phone right now.
* Qualcomm 8064 CPU (Quadcore)
* 2GB RAM
* 16GB ROM
* Graphics processing comparable to the XBOX 360 (Adreno 320 graphics chip)
* 2000 mAh 3000 mAh battery upgrades
* 4.3 inches high PPI retina screen, 1280x720 resolution. The touch screen to do (the OGS / TOL), the single glass fit technology, Ultra Narrow design to protect the glass.

Not sure if it has expandable storage. But by currency conversion it works out: $315/£200!!
Should be released in October. Hope it works in UK

I wonder if this will have solid rom AOSP/ROM support... you might imagine so considering it's running MIUI out of the box.
Also, battery life.
Will it have an english MIUI available though?
Great specs, especially love the option for 3000mAh albeit with an extra 2mm thickness. But no mention of an SD card slot?? 16GB inside is fine but not enough for me on the whole.
I want one so bad! Hopefully we can manage to get them here in the US for under $400... It's beautiful.

Based on what I've read, don't expect to get your hands on it until the specs are no longer a wow factor.
Apparently this company has some very interesting marketing strategies, the price is apparently more so an initial head turner and far from permanent. Supply is also iffy.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Only missing feature is NFC, but hard to complain about at that price with those specs. Even if it comes in at $450 or so in the end that's around the Xperia P range so not out of sorts. We'll see if they release the goodies for the devs to tinker with.
Has this gone on sale in China? Maybe one of the Chinese users could clear our queries with regards to this phone. I'm chiefly concerned about the following things:
1. English support (should mostly have)
2. AOSP support (almost certainly might have)
3. Build quality and spares!!
Damn it I live in India and we are China's neighbours. Start selling you phones here guys!

don't expect aosp support as they will probably never release the kernel source. the first one was okay... many of my friends have them but.although they get updates every week they still seem to be only about 75 stable.. the new one has me interested from a cheap hardware angle but I like beingable to choose my own Rom
@joshofbass
what do you mean by "they still seem to be only about 75 stable"?
reboots? freeze? I need a dual sim so that i don't have to lug around 3 phones
NFC??
Does anyone know if the MI-2 supports NFC technology?
I have seen many websites which write the specs and other useful information, but none is mentioning whether or not it has a nfc chip.
NFC is not listed in the specs on the official homepage. Neither is microsd support, btw ...
the best phone!

Few questions about OP5.

1. Camera has 1080p/60fps? (with EIS possible?)
2. Is this device somehow waterproff? I can't believe that high-end smartphone don't have any protection.
3. How to root this thing? It will be my first OxygenOS phone
4. It have SDcard slot? (128GB version)?
5. How can I get something like silicone case? I'm living in the EU/Poland
I should receive it this friday

Oh, my bad! I didn't saw that expanded specification.
So only 3 and 5 questions left! About root and silicon case.
Thank you @SysAdmNj
Also! Will OP5 charge on this charging pad that left after my S7?

3. Root should be available shortly, just stay tuned to these forums. Same way we've rooted previous oneplus devices.
5. Right now, you either have to wait for oneplus to get them back in stock or keep searching amazon until silicone cases start showing up.
I'm also looking for a case like that but they arent out yet.
No wireless charging.
I read on some reviews that OP's CEO said that it can resist water splash or even some immersion, they just didn't spend money to certificate that
I wouldnt buy this phone, so overrated and now they cheat in benchmarks,,,
Good points
Sd835
Dual camera
Slim design
LPDDR4X RAM
UFS 2.1
Decent price ($300 less than iPhone )
Bad points
Smaller battery than OP3T
Low resolution display compared to flagships
Huge bezels
No waterproofing
No stereo speakers.
No OIS
No 3D touch
No wireless charging ( also absent in iPhone 7)
No expandable storage (64 GB would be too less in 1-2 years)
They should have priced it at $400 then it would be super hit all over the world.

You can't really compare to an iPhone... You're better off comparing to another Android phone.
64gb is way plenty for most people (they have a 128gb option) I have had a oneplus one for 3 years with 64gb and have barely breached half that (with many apps/music backups, etc)
Smaller battery (barely) but better battery consumption.
The only real letdown is the screen resolution imo

YOTA3/Yotaphone 3 Officially announced

The YOTA3/Yotaphone 3 has officially been announced here (in Russian)!
The phone is being referred to as 'YOTA3' for the Asian market, but will be known as 'Yotaphone 3' in Russia and "other markets".
Here are some translated quotes from the post:
"The development of a new generation smartphone took 10 months. In general, more than 100 technical specialists from Russia and China took part in the process of creating the phone."
"The phone has two versions - 64 and 128 GB, also released a premium version of the smartphone."
"Compared to the previous generation smartphone, the new phone has a more advanced operating system Android 7 (Nougat)."
"The device provides for the use of two SIM-cards, has a front screen Samsung Super AMOLED diagonal of 5.5 inches and a back screen E-Ink diagonal of 5.2."
"The amount of RAM doubled to 4 GB, and the battery capacity was increased to 3,300 Mh."
"The smartphone has two cameras with increased light output. Resolution of the front camera is 13 megapixels, back - 12 megapixels. The phone is also equipped with touch controls."
"On the back of the smartphone an additional sensor is installed, which will help to more accurately determine which screen the user wants to unlock. On the front side is a fingerprint sensor, which simplifies user identification and improves security. "
"First, phone sales will be launched in China, then it will appear in other countries, including Russia."

There goes my wish for illuminated EPD..
Doesn't look bad, though..
I would've been happy with this device if it wasn't for the missing 3.5mm headphone jack. I use my phone primarily for listening music, and there's no way I will be carrying a clunky adapter or using some crappy bt headset.
It's coming soon :
https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/8/24/16196766/yotaphone-3-specs-release-price
So it has 3.5mm audio plug after all (GSMarena specs). But the EPD screen seems not back-lit and the PPI increased only by 20% (Yota2 235 ppi, Yota3 282 ppi) that's still not the Kindle resolution at 300 ppi. Even the Boox Onyx readers have 300ppi standard nowadays. Comon Yota cheaters.
Support:
Oh yeh and wondering if the support is going to be in Russia or China. They would have to up the ante in case they ever consider sales outside Asia
LTE
Big ambition. Dual SIM needs support at least 1900 MHZ LTE because the 2600MHZ is still spotty. I doubt it will have 1700/2100 combo required in Canada. Add 700MHz for use in buildings and you have a pretty tall order.
Otherwise upgrade from YP2 will not happen.
How do I import one to USA?

However I can't mirror the main screen onto the eink screen of my Yota 3. I have the Yotaphone 2, so would there by a way to port the Yotahub/Yotacover/Yotapanel from the 2 to the 3? Also, all the instructions are in Chinese which is slightly annoying. Do you think the mirroring function would be added later by an update? Thanks

daydream support on new ROMS?

Hi guys,
The only reason I'm still using stock Nougat is to have good Daydream support with low persistence mode.
The device, however, feels too slow and I would like some Oreo or Pie.
I've read a few mentions about new kernels supporting Daydream however I haven't found a concrete answer.
Could Daydream users please share their experiences?
Thanks a lot.
Edit : in addition, are there custom ROMs / kernels with which i can get better battery life compared to stock? I've actually replaced my battery and wiped data but my battery life is still not great.
I'm using A2017X_O_B04_SL!M8 that is running Oreo and while it technically has Daydream working I can't recommended it as the low persistence mode seems to be broken and it is too blurry.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-slm8-t3947376
Daydream on stock B04 works but due to the battery killing nature of Daydream I haven't given it a good go to see how well it works. Can have a look. I do wear glasses so I usually get blur anyway but if careful I can put them on behind the Daydream View 2 just to test.
Mine is totally standard, bootloader never been unlocked.
It does run nicer than on Nougat but there are some bugs. It seems to cause an early shutdown as battery gets low plus the 10 second power button hold doesn't restart it. They've buggered something up with power. Dolby Atmos works.
What's the deal about low persistence? I haven't heard of it. What should I be looking for?

This is a generic screen cap since my Axon is flashing a rom right now but its the setting at the bottom for "Reduce Blur" its typically on by default and toggling it isn't even an option in Nougat Roms from what I can tell:

I hope I'm not spreading mis-information but it reduces blur/makes movement more fluid by adding in extra black frames that brings that total Frames Per Second up to 120. When the phone swaps to VR mode it should get slightly "dimmer" because of those added black frames. That's also how many TVs cheaply add more frames to 30FPS content and display it as 60FPS or 120FPS content to make things look more "fluid" (which seems to be what you want for VR).
On the Sl!M rom mentioned in my other post (which is rock solid in nearly every other way) toggling the Reduce Blur option seems to make no change one way or another so its just my assumption it doesn't work so maybe it is working but it is way more blurry when moving around than in the Nougat Roms or my Pixel 2. Combing through the XDA forums seems to indicate that something in the build prop needs to be edited to correctly identify the phone as the A2017U to engage Low Persistence on the A2017G B04 rom but that is above my skillset.
Its too bad too as VR seems to be the most stable and have the clearest picture- as long as I'm not moving compared to the handful of other Nougat ROMS I tried.
So while they had less "motion blur" they had other weird issues (the Skybox app says the phone isn't certified on A2017U_B35_NOUGAT_FULL_EDL and flat out doesn't load on the Lineage OS 15.1 & neither does the "Drop down menu").
