Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7501 vs, P7500 - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Does somebody knows what the difference between P7501 and P7500 are? As I understand both have UMTS and WIFI? Also rest of spec seems to be the same.
(It is not a mistake P7501! Not P7510)

P7501 is a new model (Name is Galaxy Tab 10.1N)
It was created by Samsung in order to address the issue that previous models could not be sold in certain markets due to lawsuits triggered by Apple.
So far I'm not aware what has changed in detail but I assume the technical specs remain the same. Most likely they only adapted the exterior design.

It has a slightly changed design. The software and the basic hardware are the same.
The speakers a repositioned and the silver-border is also changed (dunno in which way)

It got Android 3.2

Here's a link to it on a German site. It doesn't look that different. I wonder if it's different enough for Apple? Interesting.

should be the same, trying to get my hands on one :/

If anyone gets their hands on one of these - please get in contact with the devs so we finally have some European 3.2 stock rom

May not work on other models out of the box. But with the right kernel, perhaps. In any case, we will probably start seeing more 3.2 ROMs very soon -- even official ones.

If they've done it right, this is exactly the same device as the P7500/P7510 with a slightly different frame and a little glas cut of each side.

it looks the same like this htc device http://www.unwiredview.com/2011/11/...s-image-and-specs-leaked-comes-in-early-2012/

It's up on the Samsung Germany site. 649 Euro for the 32GB 3G. Yikes.

I have one.

I've got one.
It has a slightly different design. But from my experience rooting and flashing works the same. So I don't think there are a lot of differences of the hardware.
See also my post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19878585#post19878585

I've got one too.

I recently bought the 10.1N WiFi, the GT7511. It features the same hardware specs as the GT7510 except the design of the frame. The speakers are on the front, the silver frame is much larger than the one of the GT7510. The physical size of the tablet is exactly the same and all accessories released by Samsung until now are compatible with it. I own the keyboard dock and it works like a charm. The tablet fits into a 10.1 leather case without problems.
The software is Android 3.2 with Touchwiz. It features several Samsung Hub Apps (Readers Hub, Social Hub, Music Hub), Pulse News, Samsung Apps Market and Polaris Office.
I hope Samsung will release ICS for this modell, too.

Yes! It's that galaxy s pro what were rumored long time a ago, but I haven't heard nothing of it for while.
But I guess rumors of Galaxy S Pro are alive again! I would love to have a QWERTY.
Since my current X1 has it and I would be missing it if I go for Galaxy S, but if the pro is rly coming out?
It also looks damn hot, better than Galaxy S. Actually it doesnt look nothing like galaxy s.
Anyway nothing info yet has been announced. But what do you guys think? Could it be PRO-model?
first. it looks like a real phone hehe
but yes you're right doesn't look much like the i9000
I like the keyboard layout, looks professional, numbers are on top like a real keyboard.
I like the front because it has more buttons than the i9000. but we'll see what it really is =D
Oooh looks nice. Full keyboards are pretty useful i have to admit, but i find em too cumbersome.
On the other hand, the phone being so slim and light, i'd like to see what it feels like, i like to feel that the phone is there and feels real and not light plastic.
http://androidcommunity.com/exclusive-more-pictures-of-the-galaxy-s-pro-20100614/
LED FLASH. Also 4G (maybe).
I'm still not getting it, though (I...I just can't wait any longer....)
not bad
very nice phone, not sure about the back though. and I don't like the sprint sign xD
(can't they flip the pictures haha instead of having us twist our necks xD)
I love the front just like i love the front of i9000
I don't think this is "Galaxy S Pro". Seems totally a different phone.
However, the screen seems smaller , no Touchwiz? , a Yellow for FN key (Seriously?). No T-Mobile!?
I guess, I will have to wait more than I though for getting the right Android phone for me...
Gotta agree with S.p.x, doesn't look anything like what I would expect. The styling has no commonality with the Galaxy S.
Could be the US version of the Wave 2 Pro.
Linky
I dont think it looks anything like the Wave 2 either. The Wave 2 Pro image's look distinctly Samsung like with a clean layout, consistent keyboard and the familiar squared chrome edged camera lens on the back.
The original pic just looks like a mish-mass of bit cobbled together without any consistency.
Maybe this is just another sad, sorry example of what happens when providers do their own customization and "value-add"
I believe it is running Android not Bada OS so I don't think it's the Wave at all! (but yes this is TouchWiz, notice the small blue icon for the battery and the 4 static icons on the side)
the Wave looks completely different.
The touch sensitive buttons on the phone are typical Android.
Has nothing to do with Wave.
Also the pictures posted say Galaxy S.
New Samsung phones:
http://en.ocworkbench.com/feature/s...4-and-omnia-pro-5-at-communicasia-2010/all/1/
Loving the Beam
if this is exactly like the galaxy s it but just with the addition of the led flash and the keyboard then i will definitely get this beauty ... i do not really care if it is 0.5 cm bigger due to the keyboard but the led flash would be fantastic.
its also a good thing for the average galaxy s users, because if two phones are build on the same android firmware (which is very likely) its more likely that we will get more recent updates
doublepost
expansys has them in stock now .... but too bad its the end of the day.

But Samsung didn't think this is enough so they threw a gyrscope inside just like the one in iPhone 4
In addition, the Samsung Captivate is designed with a six-axis sensor that combines the smartphone's accelerometer and gyroscope to provide a smooth, fluid gaming experience

I much prefer the i9000
Meh who needs a gyroscope anyways?
Hah would be funny to find that people outside the USA prefer that design and the Americans preferring the international version.
Theme appears less iphoney
Looks like an old Palm device I threw away 5 years ago.
I may end up with it, but based on that picture, I don't think its attractive at all.
If the I90000 looks iPhonish, who cares? It looks better than this.
That won't stop me from buying it. Depending on the issues around locking down apps to just the Market, and what Verizon ends up with from the Galaxy...that will determine which one I end up with.
Unless someone can convince me there is a good reason to stay on AT&T over Verizon, based on the carrier technology, not the complaints about AT&T's lousy coverage. Their coverage is great where I would need it. (At least now it is).

I think I prefer the EU version as well - it might be because I've just gotten used to the looks of it already. To me the US version reminds me of the Touch HD which is a phone I absolutely hated.
It depends on the dimensions and whether it has a flash - neither of which are stated.
Like I said in the other thread, there's no way AT&T would allow another phone closely resemble the iPhone AND have specs to directly compete with it and possibly blow it out of the water. Hence the removal of the front camera, possible gimping, and changing the looks.
It reminds me of this ..
I prefer the 3 button setup with hardware home key in the middle. First, it can be used to unlock, no need to fiddle with your thumb on the side. Second, it helps using the other two keys without looking.
Who really needs a search key anyway? And if you need it, just hold the menu key a little longer, and there you are.
we should have had a poll. like the att version alot. curious if the tmobile one is gonna be redesigned, especially since the sprint one also has four buttons up front.
Not to mention the hardware keyboard
No-one else thinks that it looks exactly like the Looks Xperia X10?...
fork! Annoying that I can't post images/urls. I wanna put the first image next to this one img.metro.co.uk/i/pix/2009/11/XperiaX10_450x550.jpg
Looks a lot nicer than the standard version to me (and I'm not in the US!). The standard one looks like it's trying too hard to ape the iPhone, and not the new one either.
The AT&T site shows the back, which does not have a flash:
http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/samsung-captivate.jsp
I'd definitely prefer this one - 16GB Flash (Vodafone exclusive in the UK) and a gyroscope, with better styling. It might not have a front camera, but it doesn't have a chocolate teapot attachment either and I care about the same amount for both of those features. (Well, to be fair, I could eat the chocolate - that would serve more of a purpose.) I've had phones with front-facing cameras for three years and have never made or received a video call over 3G, or had any desire to do so.
this doesn't look hot. i like the 9000 better
looks like a mini dell mini5 streak
pun intended
Biggest question for me, since both of them have slight variance in hardware like no front-camera and gyroscope, will a single rom cooked for 1 version work for both versions?
Because thats huge. It would fragment the Euro and USA rom cookers.
US Version looks way better and it has all 4 capacitive buttons, which would make running custom software a little easier. Booo @ removing the front facing camera.

[Guide] How to tell if you have screen bleeding

Hey Guys,
Just a quick guide on how to tell if you are one of meny with screen bleed.
I made this becuase i had no idea that my tablet had this defect untill i saw pics of iton another device so i made this hope you enjoy.

This is easy as you can see above around the edges there is light spilling in.
so just open this image below crank on your tablet up the brightness and go somewhere dark.
So I now know I have screen bleeding. Not as bad as the one in that photo though.
Would Vodafone replace it? Would it effect the life of the screen?

Vodafone have to replace it.
But they probably don't have any that don't suffer this defect.
Unsure about screen life, it shouldn't but it might.

What I want to know is why so many of these have screen bleeding. I feel like Samsung just didn't care when distributing this tablet, and wants to put their focus on the 10.1

Well I know that when my friends iPhone was insured with Optus and then stolen they replaced it with an iPhone 4.
If we waited till the release of the galaxy tab 10.1 maybe they would replace it with that?

Trade practices act will protect us on this:
They will have to fix it or replace it with something of equal or greater value (Which means the cannot give us a device like the P1000 and say fixed) & fit for purpose (The cannot just hand us a nexus S and say now go away)
In terms of exchange it depends on a couple of factor:
1. Only pluasable if Vodafail stock the new 10.1/8.9 (if there not getting it they cannot exchange it)
2. Samsung cannot fix this (if samsung can manuafacter a fix for this then we will get it fixed)
3. Vodafail don't decide it's not a real issue (It will get taken imidiatly to the ombinsmen if this does happen)

It just wasn't quality tested correctly, apple are the most comman offenders of this but other companys do make these mistakes once in a while hopefully it will get fixed.
We shouldn't make a big deal over it untill we know it's not getting fixed.
Also devices i own that suffer from screen bleeding now i know what it is and how to look for it.

Samsung Galaxy S III - All Updates

On 23 April, Samsung begun a countdown for the next galaxy with an anagram.

Yesterday, the countdown finally stopped and a teaser for the upcoming galaxy was posted.
SUMMARY OF VIDEO ACCORDING TO ME----
The video begins in the wilderness showing a distant city, all lit up in the night. The camera then zooms into outer space along with text that reads ‘Where a galaxy fits perfectly into your hand’. This is a subtle hint that the phone won’t be as massive as the Galaxy Note or possibly, the Galaxy Nexus. I have a feeling Samsung may just stick to the 4.3-inch screen but with a much higher resolution. This makes perfect sense and I hope they do that.
The camera then pans out across different galaxies along with another line, ‘Your view of the world grows even wider’. This could hint at the aspect ratio of the new phone. Any Other Guess! Anyone.
Then, it goes deeper into the universe and text appears, "AS YOU GAIN THE POWER TO EXPLORE IT FREELY & SWIFTLY', this time i'm cluelss.
Here comes the funniest part, the iSheeps, which shows a herd of sheep and the line, ‘…everyone else’.
The video ends with the Samsung logo and those very same blobs of metallic paint we saw in the invite. This definitely hints to the type of material used in the chassis of the S III or if not, at least the colours it will be available in. Sadly, at this moment, we don’t have any real clue about the phone itself and looking at how Samsung is hyping their next-gen Galaxy phone, I really doubt those leaked pictures are the real deal.
It appears as if Samsung is trying to throw us off the track here into thinking that the GT-I9300 is indeed the S III, which it isn’t (at least, that’s what we hope). Only a few days are left for Samsung’s Mobile Unpacked 2012 event which will take place on May 3, so see you then.
So we let us suprise. Wow !!

I voted "don't know" it depends on a number of factors, it will have to beat the SGSII in every department for it to outsell it, price too will be a factor, many countries are in deep recession and many people cannot afford the luxury of shelling out big money on a smartphone so i hope Samsung don't vastly overcharge, €599 is far too much this is the figure that was given on the Amazon German website

The reason the Galaxy S III Pebble Blue Was Delayed!

The flaw manifests as a milkiness to the glaze Samsung applies to the rear of the Galaxy S III, which it has said improves durability, reduces the likelihood of visible scratches and helps the handset feel more like a premium ceramic device in the hand. That “special hyper-glaze material” as Samsung referred to it doesn’t appear to have dried entirely clear, however, on top of the base color.

Whatever the reason might be... How is this possible after all those delays. Wasn't there a single person who noticed this while Samsung was pushing forward the launch date and later, after the launch date, in the period before actually shipping the thing.
I still believe they are trying to dump a batch of pre produced white units before releasing the flinstone blue version. I bet they made a big miscalculation and are confronted with a big preorder for the blue one.
