Data button problem - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

HI,
i cannot access data from settings(notifications drop down). Data button has been deleted, how to restore it. When i want to enable data always i need to go to sim settings and enable it.

Hey, I've been facing the same issue. Basically, it happens when signal is low/unavailable, and then on reconnection, the mobile data quick-setting tile disappears.
The simplest, quickest fix I've seen is just to enable and disable Airplane mode every time it happens.

Yes, exactly. It just disappears sometimes. Did you try toggling Airplane Mode? That fixes it for me.

Have the same issue, try reboot your G4. The reboot will fix the problem.

try from System UI Tuner.
If that does not work and reboot does not work, then unfortunately u have to factory reset.

Hold Settings icon in Notification Bar..it'll give one Pop to access 'System UI Tuner', accept it. Then you can find that Settings Icon will change in notification bar.
In Settings at bottom a new menu will be added 'System UI Tuner' , in that select 'Quick Settings'..there you can add for Data...

Got it in status bar, but u don't know how

[Q] CM10 Brightness issues!

Well, as you may or may not know, CM10 has an option to slide your finger on the status bar on the top to change brightness. I enabled that, and initially it worked. I then started using the brightness button in the notification bar, and after like 3 clicks it got stuck on auto mode. Now no matter how many times I click it or go into display and turn off auto, restart, remove the button from the notification bar, etc, the widget stays on auto (it still changes brightness, it just says its on auto) and I can't enable the status bar brightness slide, which I personally favor over the button. Does anybody know how to get rid of the glitch? Would reflashing work?
Thanks,

I had this same issue on CM9. For some reason once you turn on auto with the notification bar you cannot turn it off with the other setting. The way I fixed it was to use SQLiteEditor (a paid app by root explorer) to manually edit the settings database. Then I went into the setup for the notification bar to remove the option to toggle through auto so it would not happen again. If you don't want to use the paid app, another solution is to wipe data and start over, then immediately go to the notification setting and disable the auto toggle.

Thanks. I already tried removing data for the "Settings Data" App. Should I disable auto toggle first? It also has this error in the homescreen widget (the one with all the system toggles like btooth, wifi, brightness, etc). Also, would any SQLite or other database editor work? Where would the database file be found?
Thanks again!

Yes it is probably a good idea to turn off the toggle first.
Any database editor that works will do. But I don't know of any free ones that have a GUI to make it easy. The free ones are command line apps that are a pain.
The settings database is in /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db

Had the same problem on my Nook HD running CM10.1 on the hybrid install and this fixed it today. My issue was that I think I clicked "auto" while adjusting on the slider and then the brightness was stuck and the "auto" was not checked nor was it selectable. Flipped the bit from 1 to 0 and now it's working ok. Doing a CWM backup now so I'll have the fix in my gold install.
Had this problem on my Samsung T679. Just fixed it and figured I'd record the steps for my own and other's reference. I'm cheap and like doing things the hard way, so I didn't spring for SQLiteEditor. I found that sqlite3 was already installed on the phone.
Before starting: use cwm to make backup, just in case.
1. Force-stop Settings app.
2. Get /data mounted read-write.
3. Open a shell (recommend via ssh/adb, because we have some typing to do).
4. cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
5. rm settings.db-shm settings.db-wal (not sure about this step, but the change didn't seem to stick otherwise.)
6. sqlite3 settings.db
Here is my session, you should get the idea:
Code:
sqlite> .tables
android_metadata bookmarks system
bluetooth_devices secure
sqlite> select * from system
...> where name like "%bright%";
71|status_bar_brightness_control|1
278|screen_brightness_mode|1
605|expanded_brightness_mode|0OV=I=XseparatorX=I=VO1OV=I=XseparatorX=I=VO3OV=I=XseparatorX=I=VO5
607|screen_brightness|30
sqlite> update system
...> set value=0
...> where _id=278;
sqlite> .quit
screen_brightness_mode needs to be changed to 0. Don't forget the semi-colons. Now fire up the Settings app and you should be able to enable the status-bar swipe brightness control. I had to toggle it once before it worked.

Check if the multiwindow toggle is on at notification or quick toggle menu.
Did you freeze com.sec.android.app.FlashbarService, by any chance?
If yes, that's the multiwindow bar you froze.
If no, are you long-pressing return or just clicking it? You need to hold return, not click it.

Peculiar. What it does for me when I press Multi Window is a cycle of three settings:
1. Show the (<| toggle (bad graphical representation) on the right (or left) side in the middle of screen.
2. Hide the toggle completely
3. Show the bar.
Try clearing the cache and data on com.sec.android.app.FlashbarService. If that doesn't help, try wiping the system cache in recovery.

Hey Folks,
i did not want to open a new thread for this topic, so i searched and added my problem to this existing thread.
Since a few days my Note 3 (N9005) is also not able to use Multi Window.
The Option in Settings is not highlighted and can not be turned to "on" anymore.
S Pen Window works (but only with standard apps like calculator, browser etc.)
Screenshot of Quick Settings: (Notice gray background of the symbol)

I did not change anything in the last few weeks (only a new microSD (32GB))
Everything Stock, no Root, Official 4.4.2
Maybe there is a solution other than factory reset
Thanks a lot!
Greetings
nitro
Just reinstall MultiWindowTrayService and FlashBarService...
Ok,
that sound easy. But where do i find these services?
i took a look around in the file system, but did not find anything.
can you maybe share a link for the .apk´s from a reliable source!?
Edit:
After trying some .apk´s (from android host) they all respond with "app could not be installed".
Any other ideas maybe?
i dont want to restore my device/data but it seems like it is the only option.
Thanks a Lot!
greetings

navigation bar colors Huawei p10 lite

Hi.
My Huawei p10 lite doesn't allow to modify the color of the navigation and notification bars when opening any app. Apparently the color is locked (it's a dark orange) and app like navbar are not able to modify in any way the fixed color.
Only when opening "Settings" the bars are white and in home screen, where navigation bar is transparent.
The phone came with a telephone company brand (which logo, by the way, has same basic color of the navigation bar) but other customers I contacted throug socials that got the phone with same conditions from the same brand, seem don't have the issue.
Is there any idea how to unlock the navigation bar color without being root or go through other invasive expedients?
Thanks a lot,
Luca.
This happened to me when I asked Google assistant to turn on power saving mode. I got super annoyed by the orange colour. So I tried telling it to turn it off but it wouldnt, so I scrolled up on my Google assistant history and flipped the switch where it said power saving mode. As soon as I did that the orange was gone.

Thank you, I'm still get along with the orange bars!
Please, may be so kind to illustrate the procedure in detail? I cannot figure out how to enter the google assistant history. By the way, to my knowledge I didn't turned on the power saving mode, unless I did it accidentally.
Thank you for helping me,

It only happens when asking Google assistant to turn on power saving mode. Try saying "Ok Google turn on power saving mode" and it might bring up a switch. If it doesnt, then to access what you've said before just say Ok Google or hold your home button then scroll up and keep on scrolling to find a switch. If there is no switch then I have no idea what the orange means.

Note that the orange stripes on the nav and notification bars appear on any app of my phone, except for Settings and home page.
Thanks,

Ok, have you tried changing the theme?
If not, then let's start:
1st: Find your themes app.
2nd: Go to the "Me" tab.
3rd: Choose any theme (those on the bottom are downloaded)
4th: Tap on the theme you want and tap apply.
If you have changed the theme then maybe download a theme which changes the navbar? (If I find one I'll try to send it.)
Ok here's one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15UOMMsz22_4NHnv0Ue2K5h_qxFH3zhvl/view?usp=drivesdk

I'm sure this is probably the Google power saving mode that is enabled. It shouldn't always be enabled, because it usually turns off once your battery is fully charged. Try installing Activity Launcher here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
Open the app, on the top of the screen, tap on "Recent activities" and choose "All activities".
Scroll down until you find Settings > Battery Saver > Turn on automatically, and choose "Never".
Hopefully this will turn it off. If that fails, I'd suggest making a backup of your data, and doing a factory reset.

EDIT: It would actually be easier just asking Google Assistant to "Turn power saving mode off", and it should be deactivated. Whether you remembered doing it or not, you might as well do it anyway, before you go through all the steps I gave you. [emoji849] Doing what @ianorna said is the easiest method. It's the only way to remove it, and it might just save you from doing a factory reset.

I may be late in replying the post but if youre still having the problem theres an easy fix.
the bars are orange because your battery saving mode is on, and no not the huawei battery saving mode, but the native android battery saver, its buried in the settings,
got to
settings>Battery>Battery Uasge graph>Tap to open detailed graph
tap on the three dots button on top right corner> tap battery save>disable!
That should fix this :good:  :silly:

I had the same problem too, couldn't turn off it through settings. Later I figured it out that it somehow linked to your Google account which you'll use while setting up your device.
I've reset my phone used another Google account which solved the problem.

Official October update Snaprdagon (problem)

So now I can see new October update, I tried to download and install it, but it stuck and I don;t know what I have to do now.
I try reboot smartphone and clean cache, but without success.
Maybe it don't download completely and samsung cancel this update now , because when I push download button it says wait and download paused.
So what I can do now?
I try search this firmware via Frija but the last firmware is G9750ZHU2ASH2/G9750TGY2ASH2/G9750ZCU2ASH2 not October.
