LG G5/V10 Camera App for P9 - Huawei P9 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hey!
This is my first post on XDA and I was wondering if anyone could port the LG G5/V10 camera app for the P9. The video on the P9 is fairly lackluster and the manual video mode might help. I'm sorry if this has already been done since I couldn't find it and I also didn't know if I was supposed to put this in the LG or Huawei sub. Either way, whoever does it I will eternally appreciate.
Thank you so much!
Vik

Is this the best cam app out there? The P9 default app is pretty extensive as it is.

The stock P9 app is absolutely great for photos - probably the best available. But the video aspect is average and LG definitely does it the best with true manual video and that might really help with the lackluster video on the P9 as opposed to the really great photography.

Yes the P9 absolutely great with a lot of choice's and manual mod but I personally prefer lg manual mod

Camera Quality

The camera on the Ascend Mate 7 seems to have a 4th generation Sony Sensor in it imx214 which is the latest one also used in the Mi4 one plus one and many other phones. In daylight the phone produces good shots from what I have seen in reviews both written and on YouTube.
Does anyone know what low light shots and video are like. Specifically indoor at night with normal house lighting.
I saw this youtube review of a video sample and it's so bad it's put me off this phone Huawei Ascend Mate 7 Review by a longtime user: http://youtu.be/fY9tmf7fDK0 forward to 09:50.
Would really appreciate anyone with good hands on with the camera compared to the other top end devices like z2/3, Note 4 etc.
Honestly, HUAWEI should wok hard on this aspect. If you want a good camera Android phone, take a look at the IUNI U3 in our store.

I think in this comparison, AM7 wins. I don't know why people are complaining about camera of AM7? Maybe they are comparing with professional standalone cameras or what?

Not sure either? Many phones use this sensor and have good results. It's not the newest sensor but still great on paper. Wait till I get my phone and I will do some comparisons against my z2
I just noticed the AM7 has 5 lenses but some of the other manufacturers added a 6th lens to the imx214. Interesting
I own one now and impressed. See photos here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2916970
Can please someone tell me why video quality of Mate 7 is so poor after upgrade to stock android 6 rom?
What should I do ?

How to improve the Mate 7 Camera.

Hello to everyone,
I think our phone doesn't have a great camera, but the sensors doesn't apperas so bad...so can be it a sw problem?
Do you think it can be improve by a new sw?
Did someone found a solution?
thanks!:good:
I've had no problems with the camera. The quality is very, very good (the first 2 pics are from the rear camera, the 3rd is from the front cam)

I rate camera very good as well.
You can use 4:3 mode instead of 16:9 and it provides slightly more pixel detail.
Good luck.
Haha nice pictures m8

The camera is capable of some really nice quality shots. Example below
The camera is good, but the processing/software is not the best, using the app snapspeed you realize there is a lot more potential with the camera.
My biggest problem with the camera is it does not handle sunlight well, it will dim down the picture a sunny day will suddenly look like evening and darker instead... I do not have any solution for that..

I've not yet experienced it dimming my photos. But I can agree that it could probably be better, but my whole point is that it is far from terrible

Camera timer not working
Has anyone else seen this problem? It was working in the beginning but I think after root it stopped. It takes the photos immidiately without the timer.
I too can't find the "timer" ... Have set up the 3 seconds option, but when pressed the shutter, photo was taken immediately.
How to make a timer shot? Thanks.
Please can anyone help me ? I've frozen the stock camera and when i restored it it doesn't want to work. Can anyone give me the apk of the app camera ?
Thanks a lot.
Try the app perfectly clear it will bring your camera with life with HDR realistic mode.
how?

buy the app
but download snapseed it will do well
I was impressed with the sharp focus and good detail but the images were dull. Simply turn up saturation and voila! Nice images. Does great close ups too. I really like being able to trigger it by saying "cheese" also.
What mode did you guys use?
I used HDR 4:3
Anyone have any lowlight shots , thinking of buying this...its kind if a biggie for me lol
As OP said, the camera hardware is pretty good, however the software can be improved.
I came from an iPhone 6 Plus to my HAM7, and I must say I very dearly miss optical stabilization. Color reproduction also leans to the dull side, but as previous posters have mentioned a few seconds' worth of tweaking in Snapseed will fix that problem.
Overall the camera is definitely not bad, and I adore the fact that you can get super close to the subject without losing focus (something I had to buy a macro lens for on my IP6). I just really, really wish it had OIS.

Huawei mate s or p8 camera port

hey I wondering if it is possible to port the good camera from Huawei mate s or Huawei p8 , even honor 7 . they are the same with lot of good functions. well nexus 6p is a Huawei device too, do u think it is possible ?
It likely uses the EMUI framework so I doubt it. The Google camera app is great and there are other options on the play store if you don't like the stock one
y cant we have few features like using the fingerprint sensor for taking selfie or scrolling? No such app?

Its a Nexus (AOSP based)not a bloated EMUI phone. That's why it doesnt have those bloated features, nor does it need them. I never take 'selfies' or even use the FFC so it's not important to have for me. You have to remember that this is a Nexus not a skinned UI phone so it only has the bare minimum in terms of software features. If it had Huaweis normal UI it would be slower and the phone would be ruined.

Sorry m8 but the stock camera app sucks. No ISO, no Sutter speed, no manual focus, nothing. Fv-5 is great but it needs some bug fixing cuz sometimes is just wont focus and won't capture at all.

None of that is really required on a phone. The stock camera app works great, and doesn't clutter things up with necessary features. I use my DSLR frequently in manual mode which serves a purpose for a real camera; phones don't need manual adjustments especially not the 6P. Every picture I've taken has come out perfectly the first time I took it. I don't need to play with settings like I did on my LG G3, Nexus 6, or S5.

I don't know about you but I really miss the HTC camera app. Editing the photos in real time using the MF, SP, and ISO can give you the image your looking for. Nevertheless, even on auto setting on FV-5 it takes better photos then the stock camera app on the 6p. For me it always seems to be over exposed and washed out.

Xiaomi Camera vs Google Camera [Mod]

What is better? the camera app from xiaomi or google? Has the camera app anything to do with video stabilization? If yes it will be better on Google Camera?
P.S: If someone can give me samples(images, videos) from both apps I will be happy

I posted here one simple example of the difference in night light: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74176704&postcount=34
In daylight Google camera is marginally better, and very consistent in good shots, the stock camera can sometimes loose focus.
I haven't yet had chance to compare videos, but I think the google camera will also give betters results, as the stock camera has issues in focusing in low light.

Search here in xda for google camera port, there are many many versions, so you must play with it. And root and enabling camera 2 api is a must for the apk to work.

Oh bummer... don't want to root Guess i'll leave it then...
tempted to root to install the GCam HDR+ but hesitant to do the tedious work in unlocking bootloader - fastboot - rooting
having the new phone for daily use is awesome, the only downside is the quality of low light pictures.. it's awful :fingers-crossed: my late mi4i takes low light with much better results..
oooh I guess that's why google pixle costs so much more
I recommend to root it. The picture quality is now stunning! Once unlocked and rooted, it is easy to relock and unroot since you know the steps

Hello Nitro, thanks for your example.
Did you use HDR Mode on Stock Camera or did you work on focus/exposition time?
This because I am getting good photos with Stock camera in low light; I cannot still compare with Google Camera because my device is not rooted (I will root, maybe, after Oreo update).

Thanks, maybe I prefer Google Camera, but in my opinion both cameras have similar (good) quality. Or not ?
On good lightning they are similar (stock has a bit more noise), but when the conditions are not so ideal like on my examples above difference is bigger.
