Aospa rom 6.0.1 - Xperia Z3 Compact General

it's finally released for our z3c!!!
http://get.aospa.co/official/aries
I believe need to unlock bootloader first before flashing so take note.

AWESOME!!! Thanks for the information!

Same process then? flash boot.img and zip from TWRP?
Edit: Everytime I do that, my phone doesn't boot. Be it with CM or other ROMs, and I have to flash a stock tft. I'm currently on Concept, since I've never managed to get CM working.
Edit2: tried to install but had to modify the install-script. My device was being recognized as "z3c".
Edit3: error flashing, same thing as CM. Flashing stock MM to see if it has something to do with using Concept before.
Edit4: can't enter recovery after flashing stock MM. Going back to Concept and not sure what to do next
Edit5: that's the error I get in TWRP

I actually have no idea what to do. I'm on a locked bootloader and I have never unlocked and flashed a custom rom on my z3c.
Was just, sharing some info and hoping people would test

For anyone who already running this rom, how is it? Does the baseband and camera work (no fisheye effect)?

I get the same error 7 when trying to install PA. Ive tried modefying the install-script as you did but then i get error 6.
I flashed stock D5803_23.5.A.0.575_R11D_Nordic Generic_1288-5411.ftf and then flashed recovery to TWRP via fastboot but i still get the same error 7 when trying PA after that.
My next attempt is to install that NUT dual recovery and try flash PA after that.

Camera and modem not working

Got it installed (finally...). You need a working TWRP recovery.
What's working:
- WiFi
- Paranoid OTA seems to work; no further build available to try (doubt that it will work without recovery though; see below)
Not working:
- RIL (so no phone or SMS)
- camera
BT and GPS not tested yet.
To be able to flash you need to
- modify updater-script located in META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script (which is actually a text file) of the ROM zip
- open it in a text editor
- replace "aries" with "z3c", save it somewhere (delete .txt if it's saved with this extension; filename must be "updater-script")
- open the zip with 7zip (recommended; dunno if it works with other archivers)
- replace the updater-script with your version in the zip
- place the zip onto your device
- enter recovery
- Factory Reset (no need for a full wipe)
- flash it
- flash MM Gapps directly afterwards (OpenGapps not recommended - use Slim Zero Gapps instead)
- if you want root, flash SuperSU BEFORE rebooting (see below)
Recovery will be lost and can't be installed with TWRP Manager or Rashr after flashing (Didn't work for me - please report if you got it working and if so - how. Maybe with fastboot, didn't try that yet)
Happy flashing...
I'm sure issues will be fixed quite fast in later builds as everything works already in latest Carbon ROM (find it on testing.myself5.de). Maybe @Myself5 can help with that...(?).

I flashed and it's same with you.It's not okay for daily driver.Also it overheats a lot.

Nice, they said they already fixed the mobile radio bug internally and will be releasing a new build soon

radio is fixed and currently fixing camera

From PA's official Google+ post:
We are also announcing that with the help of Sony and their Open Devices Project we will be able to support all 22 Xperia devices on the SonyXperiaDev GitHub Instance. This initial Sony release is for the Shinano family, but the Rhine, Yukon and Kitakami platforms are expected to follow shortly. This is really exciting news for us and it allows us to give you the Android experience we all love on a much wider range of devices.

If this is the case, maybe the camera will actually be usable? What do you think guys?

and like I posted I am just the porter of the ultimate team
I just tried to install this from stock and didn't work. Very similiar to the last versions of this ROM, in which you had to install over another custom ROM to work. Is there possibly something I missed? I did the normal:
1. put Ultimate on root of SD card
2. put update.zip on root of SD card
3. applied update.zip to get into CWM recovery (did it twice, as normal)
4. selected Ultimate ROM zip in CWM recovery
5. stuck on Samsung Galaxy Boot image
try one more time with a full reset.

+1.
Phone stuck on galaxy boot image
do you have to flash a 2.2 rom then flash this one?
Same here. Phone stuck on Galaxy S screen.
Restored phone to 2.1
Master cleared
Rooted (First attempt)
Did not root (2nd installation attempt)
Installed ROM
Data reset
Reboot
*** UPDATE ***
Installation worked when installing on top of a ROM that was already installed.
I flashed from stock/masterclear and it worked correctly for me. Pretty nice. love the dock bar and the animations. Doesn't appear the home button works though.
I installed it over an early version of firefly, and it worked. Home button seems to be working for me. Flashing this ROM almost makes me feel I have a new phone, or something. I mean, it looks and just feels different than anything I have flashed previously. I like it so far, first impressions. Going to drive it around for a few days and see just how well it does under usage.

[WIFI Only] [How-to] GT-P1010 Gingerbread Update

I know a lot of people are going to have problems updating to the latest gingerbread build.
PLEASE NOTE: This update will remove root but you can root again with CF-Root from second post.
ALSO, THIS PROCESS WILL WIPE DEVICE!
1) Put your P1010 into download mode (by holding POWER and VOL-DOWN):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2)I went ahead and used ODIN tool to downgrade/upgrade to the latest FROYO firmware before Gingerbread:
P1010XWKC1_OXX
(OEM Flash Guide here)
You should have the same tick marks and files loaded as in my screenshot. Be sure that the box is yellow on the right and you can initiate the firmware install by clicking 'Start'.
3) (VARIES) From there, after restart some people will experience a force close followed by a reboot loop. You will need to flash this kernel via ODIN:
P1010ZHKF1-kernel
(Flash this the same way as above but UNCHECK Re-Partition and CSC!)
4) You will then be able to boot into Froyo.
5) You will use ODIN again to install the Gingerbread update and flash just the PDA (leave CSC blank and leave Re-partition unchecked this time).
P1010XEUKPG
(Flash this the same way you flashed the Kernel in step #2)
6) After it reboots, you will have 2.3.6
7) (Optional) steps in post #2 to install CWM Recovery and Root.
I recommend installing CWM Recovery and CFRoot in the thread below:
ClockWorkMod Recovery for P1010
After you install CWM Recovery, you can do a nandroid backup and never worry about brick again! (=
Also, you can use ES Explorer to mount root and get rid of the Samsung bloatware (AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!)
For those wanting to remove the bloatware (AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!):
You can remove the bloatware with ES Explorer, there's an option to enable 'Root Explorer'. Download the latest version from the Market.
See below:
screenshots are from my Galaxy Nexus but it's the same for any Android 2.2+.
1) Go to the 'Settings' screen
2) Change home directory to '/'
3) Tick the 2 marks on the bottom
4) Browse to /system/app
5) Delete whichever app you don't want, but do it with caution (I usually move these files to /sdcard and move back if it causes any type of force close)
If you totally borked out the system in such a way that you can't boot, you can always move it back in recovery via ADB (much more complicated process but it's possible).
Also, why not do a nandroid backup before messing with deep system files?
Nice! Great topic.
Updated op! =)
this is the best christmas present so far.

If you followed those steps, the ROM runs stable without any FC's or reboots. I even have setCPU installed on mine.
Also, it's good to note that I'm running CF-Root kernel from the thread in 2nd post.
Plus, you could always downgrade if you run into issues. Just remember to always BACKUP YOUR DATA!

Could you attach the logcat here? or if you could send it directly to theos0o, that'll be great. he's the modder of the skype apps I pasted above.
could you also try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153285 this works for me using froyo.
im getting excited about this.. is it really for the p1010 wifi only device? because from what i can see in this subforum is the devs working on the p1000 only. another thing, please don't tell me this is an official update. i don't think the bad sammy will update this little tab.
Depending on where you are freon yes it its the official ireland uk update and makes massive difference as well
Much better tab.

@densets, skype is working for both skype mods I posted earlier. you just need to enable 'use valid preview'. for droidrx's version, set the app to 'crop' so your video is centered.
phew.. relieved by this news, nevermind if it is not going to be released here in malaysia, at least i can still skype with my family w/o much trouble into getting the ffc to work.

hmm, if you are still in froyo, you can use ffc on skype: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1153285
just rotate the camera and try out different settings.
sorry for the newbie question, but what's the password for the 2.3.3 file from sammobile?
edit: already found it, my bad
Interestingly, I've followed the guide exactly as mentioned above (had KC1 and the HK kernel from previous flashing) and flashed the PDA for XEU 2.3 from Sammobile, and I'm now stuck in an eternal bootloop. I like the new samsung boot music though, better than the previous one
Any suggestions?
Edit: I wiped data and cache from recovery, flashed KC1 and the Kernel and it boots fine. Checked Kies to be sure and it's offering me FW upgrade to KM2. Should I accept this FW upgrade or just persevere with flashing the new 2.3 firmware?

Crap dosent sound to good, but i quess that flashing stock rom from 1 of the 2 bootmodes is your only choice ?
And i really think this rom should be removed (or at least a proper description applied in op)
seems like you could properly soft/or brick your device with this bootloader etc.
Plz dont release untestet/ or not properly described flashable stuff

They're working on a Paranoid rom with AOKP elements if you're interested
I was a big fan of AOKP on my S2 and Gnex, but didn't like it at all on the N7. Something didn't feel right with the tablet ui in comparison to PA. Think i'll give it a shot though

ROOT with Security updates ( TESTED )

So for someone who plans to root , but stay on stock rom ( possibility decrypt) how would this work ? Is there a way to not lose data every month ?
EDIT- Tested on my 6P. check post 8 in this thread
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
I'm wary of rooting for this exact reason.
I unlocked my bootloader but am wary of doing anything more, but i really do want to root and get twrp installed.
I'm new to the N6p but if like other platforms you should be able to dirty flash the full rom without wiping any of your data. I would think google would be the best at posting those roms after the update.
I will be more comfortable rooting after the guru developers get hold of Google source code they're waiting on and get things working with encryption. May be a few weeks.....
I'm not rooting for a while with this beast. With tethering available for UDP on VZW working out of the box....that's my biggest root factor. Sure I'd love to get nandroid backups and try new roms, but that's more for my enjoyment than necessity. I am missing titanium right now, but I'll wait for more Devs to really delve into this thing and then make a decision. I've never bought a phone at launch (except for the S4) until I knew root was attainable (and the S4 had been loki'd before release).

I wonder if its possible to just flash the system part of the update , then reroot and be good to go
Ok so took a shot due to lack of response here;
Before flash - Rooted , stock ROM , chainfire boot.img
- I did a nandroid ( incase tits were pointed in the upward direction i.e tits up )
- Downloaded the latest image from Google, extracted
- then i just extracted the system.img and vendor.img
- fastboot flash system system.img
- fastboot flash vendor vendor.img ( without this you get some " something went wrong in your system, contact etc error on boot )
- Boot android ( Android is upgrading for 3-4 mins )
- Re-root in TWRP
- see for yourself

Not sure if this will work every time, if the boot.img changes significant'y between an update i would assume it won't ( in which case you will need a new root boot.img from a dev ) , so just be aware of that for future releases.
Is it just the factory image?
I am still curious about this

Might just give this a try. Thanks!

Ok so took a shot due to lack of response here;
Before flash - Rooted , stock ROM , chainfire boot.img
- I did a nandroid ( incase tits were pointed in the upward direction i.e tits up )
- Downloaded the latest image from Google, extracted
- then i just extracted the system.img and vendor.img
- fastboot flash system system.img
- fastboot flash vendor vendor.img ( without this you get some " something went wrong in your system, contact etc error on boot )
- Boot android ( Android is upgrading for 3-4 mins )
- Re-root in TWRP
- see for yourself

Are you on the mdb08m image?
Thanks!
Thank you so much. I just tried this and can confirm that it works. I created an account on here just to reply to this. I was searching everywhere for an answer to this yesterday. This was the only solution I found.

Amazing work! EVERY ONE OF US NEEDS TO LEARN command line, but it's always excellent to see amazing devs make an all in one like this for the guys that refuse to learn the hard (right) way, and for vets that aren't quite smart enough to make a tool like this themselves, like me, but appreciate the **** out of this little gem making my first custom Oreo ROM from stock rooted a breeze! Perhaps a little bold, but im still calling it, OG PIXEL XL NOT DEAD just when I was losing faith! Bravo!
PS:. Donation incoming once my current "being a broke ass" sit-e-ation ends here in a few weeks.

Just peeped them briefly,. Mad props!
Damn dude, this is amazing. Will definitely give it a shot in the next few days!
Question about the install/uninstall apks feature: how does this work? Is it batch or one at a time?
EDIT: Also, to flash TWRP, do I need to be in bootloader mode and do I need to disable security on my phone before flashing? Will I lose root when flashing it? I'm using the latest Magisk.
Sent from my Google Pixel XL using XDA Labs
Finally i got a solution for Nexus and Pixel Factory Image flash, now it works perfectly
Thank. I've been using the Unified Android Toolkit from Skipsoft for a while now, but a lot of functions are blocked. I'll give this a go.

You can't retain root after flashing a factory image. You can root the oreo factory image after you have flashed it
I take it this is for windows only?
Thanks
Thanks for this toolkit
My phone was loop in no command screen . And you save me
I have questions about this toolkit
- can I use it to flash any custom rom or just original image
- can I root my phone with toolkit
- there is another virgin of toolkit can be use in a pixel book
Best wishes,

You can't directly flash a custom rom with this tool, you need a TWRP already flashed on your phone and you can use "Recovery Zip Flasher" ( I do not recommend it ), i think is better to put the rom on your phone and flash it from your phone.
This tool can't root directly your phone, but gives all you need to root it (Bootloader Unlock and the flash of a TWRP).
Pixel book? This tool is only available for Windows, maybe you can use it on pixelbook with a virtual machine, but i don't know how pixel book works
With the new update a i make a new recovery flasher option for devices with project treble. Test it and told me if it works

This is not a virus, it's a false positive
