is my phone compromised? how can I figure out who's doing it?can I secure my phone? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a galaxy note 3 and I think someone close to me is connected to my phone in some way. Is there a way to see if my phone has been compromised, and if so who's behind it and last how can I secure my phone frome being compromised in the future? I have WiFi at my house but at this point I don't trust my fiancé or boss at work. my fiancés mother is an IT Tech and so is my boss. Also I think my next door neighbors could be in on this too. PLEASE HELP it's driving me crazy :crying: iI don't know if there are hidden cameras in my house and they are watching me on a smart tv or if they can go thrugh my phone because of WiFi I just know that something is wrong. I know nothing about cloud or quick connect WiFi connect. I do have a ps4 at my house and every time my fiancé leaves me she takes the tv.... Thank you for any and all advice. Please point me in the right direction

Too paranoid maybe. Your fiance, your boss and your neighbor. I think it's the best answer you could get here. And what is compromised phone?. I know some china phone is compromised but other than that I don't think it's doable.

What evidence do you actually have .

Sad day, lost my X7501, replaced with Redfly

I was in a hurry to make a connection and left it in the seat pocket on the plane. Someone in Chicago or another connection has a great device. I bought the redfly to go with my ATT Titan II and just connected it this morning. The big disappointment is that video is terrible. Other than that most apps work great. Let me know if you want me to test something.
It is unlikely that the airline will find it, so I'll have a battery and original box for sale in about 10 days.
thats really sad
Re Redfly, how is the performance in mobile office? Read some reviews mentioning about pdf files opening extremely slow... your experience so far?
Using BT, how is battery life? Just curious to know the real user experience.
Thanks.
Redfly
All of the mobile office apps work great, it is not hard to see why they are targeting the business market. The only thing that I'd love to see would be better video play, but I did not expect that. The keyboard is fine for touch typing and I've had no trouble getting used to it. The screen is really good in the truck and I'm enjoying it for gps, google maps, and expensable. The view of contacts and calendar when in the truck is so much better than the phone itself. It is priced ok and worth it at $199 but that is still a stretch since it cannot replace my phone screen or media player for video on flights. So my dilemma is still multiple devices if I want a larger screen. The screen for Mobile Office is better than the Advantage, but for a do it all device I'd like to have it back.
I just received my scratch and dent x7501 from an ebay transaction, and it only came with the charger, so I might be interested in whatever you have, especially proprietary cables. I can't say I necessarily have to have them, but it might be helpful in case i decide to sell.
I didn't think I'd miss it like I do. So I'm going to watch the "for sales" and ebay for a couple of weeks to see if I can find a replacement. If not, I'll contact you 1st.

RE Comments and a Question About Redfly As Well
First off, very sorry to hear that story. Thats a fine piece of equipment to have to get over from the loss. I know how I am, I'd be walking around kicking the ground with my head down for weeks. Just remember, you never know, that airline could call tomorrow and surprise you. I would also make sure you contact them again. You never know. Perserverance in a case like this can be invaluable.
Let me also take a second to say to the masses, if you do not have your devices clearly marked with Contact Info, your making a mistake. I simply go into Word or Notepad or whatever and make some simple pieces of paper with my name , number. the words CALL IF FOUND, use a Size of 7 or or 9 FONT depending on how big device is and use BOLD. Cut them out, apply to back of battery is best, but at the least under the battery, people find a device I guarantee the battery comes off sooner or later, and then just use a piece of clear scotch tape (or two). This got my $1400 Black MicroTAC back in 1984 or 85. (something like that) When the Car Kit was $2700. One other thing. Sure Auto Locking on a device gets old. But there is nothing better then to know after a loss or theft that at the best he has a worthless piece of equipment and the least he will have to maybe spend some money and time to get it unlocked. It will help take the sting out of it mentally.
REDFLY:
As to Redfly I also said what the heck for $199 I will jump. With a coupon from MODACO I got another $18.00 off so I am priced right. I am a sceptic about this "seeding"program. I think it was not selling and it was time to get cost out of these units back before it is too late. When they are gone they may be gone and then used and marked up Ebays will be what is available. They may even hold value awhile as they do work as stated.
The OPS statement that the RedFly is for the Business user ( I will also say Student, perfect for Student for taking notes etc) is correct. If you want to watch Videos, forget it. But if you want to type documents, get on the Internet, web browse and check emails and know your phone is staying charged all the while and get good battery life with the whole combo, the Redfly works. It does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do well, and NOTHING else really. Your getting a nice big screen for your phone, keyboard and touchpad, abilty to charge / maintain battery level on phone while using (give or take a bit) for hours. It is small and you will see about 8 hours of battery life. If you need to use a projector it has a regular VIDEO port for say classroom or Power point meeting presentations
RedFly Question / Issue:
Im curious if the OP has experienced the intermittant connect between the AC cord and the Power IN port on the Redfly. Mine barely makes the connection and will pop out while just sitting there doing nothing or being lightly moved or typed on. It seems to be an R and D issue that got by. I have read others complain about it. Mine is bad enough I am exchanging. BTW, if you are going to get a RedFly allow me to suggest Erik Patterson at Expansys USA. This guy has taken care of me before, during and after the sale on the Redfly. I have been very impressed. On a $199 sale he is making very little (if anything) commission wise, He has treated me like I did just buy an x7501 with every available Accs. LOL. He is a true professional salesperson and I would love to see him get the business (RedFly or anything else for that matter) . He has earned my future business hands down.
OK thats enough for this "cover everything" post.
Here is Eriks Info. Please tell him Ron sent you.

As for the power plug you might want to see if you are getting it plugged all the way in. Many have noted, as I have with mine, they have a lot of tension on the socket so it doesn't come unplugged and you think you have it plugged in when you don't.

Hope I win in the Blaze Across America contest!

Here is my entry for the Blaze Across America Contest.....
You were supposed to answer the question in 150 words:
What can you do fast?
This is all true btw.....let me know if I have a chance.....
Hi, my name is Scott Tienken (last name sounds like u r thinkin) - I own a 24 hour computer service business here in New England so I have to stay connected with all of my clients; I teach computer classes for free at my local senior center - because I like helping people - so I guess that makes me somewhat of a good Samaritan AND I love to cook!
I'm soooOOO busy that my 3 computer screens can't even keep up with me!
You want to know what I can do fast?
I mean blistering, blazing a trail behind you like a road runner (meep meep) fast?
I can remotely fix my grandmothers computer in California while updating my Facebook & computer class schedule online - looking up what to make for dinner, oh yeah!...... All while playing solitaire!
I think it's over, but if it's not....we are only 15 days away.
Let me copy that... and paste it... Just a second.... Submitted!
I also submitted an entry using the whole "It's a boon for my business and productivity" angle (I'm a real estate broker who works in the field a lot and uses socisak media heavily).
Who they pick will really tell whether Sprint's focus for this device is its productivity/business value (4G speed, mobile hotspot, simultaneous voice/data) or the entertainment/fun value (screen, HDMI out)
I went the humorous route telling them how fast I am in the romance dept and how fast I can make women run away from me
Too funny!
Good times, good times.......
I know that I am dreamin of this phone...
Can a phone change your life?......YES!!!!
Damn!!! have to wait till 5/28!
DAMN!!!! I was hoping to win this phone!!

Before you buy a OnePlus device

You also need to swing buy and pick your self up a computer that is running windows OS to ensure that your warranty will be good. Hmmmm... Didnt know that when I picked up my OnePlus that later had problems. This seems like a bad decision now.. I have had other phones that had problems and also was under Warranty.. A quick phone call and box shipped.. Phone sent out.. No problems. But OnePlus wants me to run around asking to borrow a computer and than ask "hey, do you mind if I open your computer up to a complete stranger for a remote session?"
I am now a single parent of 3 kids.. My Linux lap top has been turned into a kids toy and is nothing more than a place for them to play games on.
One plus wants me to have a remote session late at night where I would have to find a working computer and drag out my kids with me to have my phone checked!! This is crazy!!! Remember this when you consider your purchase, visit this "family like community" forums and beg for a invite!!
This is kinda like a slap in the face!! I was here looking for an invite to by my OPO.. Put off buying a nexus 6 .. Telling other people about this new phone coming out the "OnePlus 1"... This seems so wrong!!
Not totally sure what the point of this thread is. Most power users have a laptop or PC to augment their smart phone, whether it's a OnePlus, HTC, Samsung or Motorola device.

Wirelessly Link 2 Phones to Run as 1 ¿(WiFi/BT)?

Code:
[FONT="Fixedsys"][SIZE="2"][COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"] First and foremost, Thanks for stopping by, you may become intreged if you continue reading my thread.
This Idea came to me a long time ago but I am unable to do anything with it as I am not a developer/programmer so I would never be able to create this on my own.
However, being the MadScientist I am (likely only in my own mind) I feel the only thing to do is to pass on the idea to somebody, anybody with the skill set, talents, abilities, or even the right friends list to make my dream a reality. So to the big idea.
I always had the cheap generic phones that were free with the contract, I would go through these phones like water and I came up with an idea that if I could put two phones or even three phones together and make them run as one phone it would be a pretty great phone [¿¿some Dr. Frankenstein ****??lol]
Over the past couple years I've always been interested in developing and apps in programming computers and how they work and operate so I now I'm in love with the expensive flashy phones and I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S7 both Android 6.0.1 O.S.,
Both fully functional. (I'm afraid trying to customize ROM I'll turn my $500 BEAUTY into a fragile useless brick) (or even worse ruin the security features) because of my ignorance in Android Development.
None-the-less if anybody can come up with a way to join two phones to run as one without tearing them apart even if they only communicate with each other through Bluetooth or through Wi-Fi and can even Share/Clone to the partner phone screen through an encrypted nonbroadcasted network or connection that would be neat but it would be great to be able to share processors and sensors or leave on in my car in the parking lot at work and have it relaying a signal to the one in my pocket. I'd love to have them setup where I could use either number on either phone or share one number between the two. If there is any possible way this can happen I would really appreciate some feedback or I might just on a crazy rant and just happened to be the world's smartest retard.
I appreciate you reading the entire rant I appreciate any feedback positive or negative dream Weavers and dream killers is all welcome.[/COLOR][/FONT]

Can you "install" a mobile hotspot device inside of a tablet?

Hello, I will start by admitting that I'm currently incarcerated in prison and using a jail broken tablet provided by a monopolized company called Jpay/Secures. I'm new to XDA and have joined in hopes of obtaining useful knowledge without being judged for being an inmate. We currently have two different types of clear plastic Android tablets available to us. The original model is a JP5 , a 7" tablet running 4.2.2 with an inmate safe software package running overtop of the original version of Android. Then we have a newer tablet offered for free to us , a JP6 also with a 7" screen. The jp6 is running android 8.1 with a more secure security blanket overtop. We have yet to jailbreak the jp6 , at least at this institution. A different institution may have accomplished this task, but I highly doubt it. I have been to an few different prisons so far ( my first and only bid) and this is the only one I've been to with jail broken tablets. These tablets have an apk called WiFi connection manager on the first files sent over when jailbreaking. The only way we can have Internet access is by using a mobile hotspot from someons cellphone. This is a problem because cellphones are illegal and don't have a long shelf life in prison. They are hunted every minute of the day by the cops. So without a cellphone we have no internet. However, I had a quick thought and figured it merited a post to see if it could be possible. I would like to purchase a mobile hot spot device like a Verizon MiFi 8800 and dismantle is and physically install it inside the tablet. Have it wired in to where it would charge when the tablet was charging and I could simply pay the montly service for it. We have accomplished some pretty interesting feats so far, IE; double batteries, body transplant from jp5 to jp6. I feel pretty confident that if it could be done, that in could accomplishe the goal in here. Please let me know if any information is available somewhere online or if anyone has any ideas! I greatly appreciate any help. Not that this matters, but I'm incarcerated for a armed burglary charge, I didn't want anyone to think they were helping a chomo. Again, thank you very much in advance. -M-
