I built this for the Chinese SM-A5100, but it should be compatible if your device is Qualcomm MSM8939.
This is as yet untested so ensure you have your stock firmware just in case.
Flash with ODIN in the AP slot.

Tell me what happens in detail I may be able to fix it.
Depending on what fails is dependent on how it's fixed.
Videos of the root process is good as let's me see exactly what the issue is.
Does it flash?
Does it start the root process?
Does it fail to mount partitions?

when start the root process stop and the message falil and saw press button power for reboot

Partitions mounting failure?

Same problem here, the root proces fails. But for a moment, before it fails root proces, there is a message on the phone display (while in download mode), that the phone is locked (I think because of a locked bootloader, but maybe I'm wrong).
My phone is Samsung Galaxy A5 SM-A5100 (Qualcomm MSM8939, Hong Kong ver).

Ah right odin fails to flash the cache.img.
Nobody mentioned that.
Have you enabled OEM unlock in developer settings as its says 'auth' meaning unauthorized?

Update, I tried root process couple of times, I also changed all USB ports on my laptop. Finally I downloaded the older version of ODIN (ver 3.10), and I managed (with your help offkors) to root my phone. 1000 thanks for your root file.

So you can confirm everything works OK with ODIN 3.10?
Which version of ODIN did not work?

Yes, so far, everything works just fine.
Just to mention, after the root was completed, the phone "bootlooped" for 3 or 4 times, before it started up android OS (maybe that's normal, I don't know).
I'm not shure if the problem was different version of ODIN or the USB port on my laptop, but first couple of times I tried this version "Odin engine v(ID:3.1101)", the last time, when root process was successful I was using "Odin3_v3.10.6".

See post #13. Confirmed working.

Works for me too. ( I used Odin v3.10.6. )
Note : Because I removed the "auto-reboot" option, when the flash finished, I had to press Vol + , Vol - , home btn , power btn to reboot, so the rooting process started, and finally finished after 3 reboots.
BIG thanks ashyx ! Great job

Did you:
Use the cable that came with your device.
Use the usb ports in the back of your computer. Don't use a hub.
Try on a different computer.
Get firmware from sammobile.com
These are all things that you should check. Also, I've had Odin fail a number of times and the for whatever reason decide to work. It can be finicky.

I also found certain versions of Odin didn't work with some ROMS. When I tried using a 3.1x version of Odin to root my I9505G, it didn't setup properly, but using the 3.07 version did.

Before root I was on the stock Android 4.2.2. The first time I flashed anything it was the new leaked 4.3 which worked just fine.
Then I flashed CM 10.1 and it worked but the problems started when I wanted to get back to stock.

I'm pretty sure it's the firmware version you're flashing that's the problem. If you know what it was before you rooted I'd look for the same version.
I have a similar problem
Hello there,
I have a similar problem but in odin it is a success but then i get stuck at boot.
To flash the file as a success, remove your device then flash again. By looking at your info, it says you have samsung knox which is a bummer (i'm in the same boat), you'll have to flash the same stock firmware as you did last time
Let me know how you get on mate

If Odin is successful but you get stuck at boot, do a factory reset in the stock recovery and it'll get you past the boot loop.
Would that delete my internal sd card folders etc?

What do you mean I have Samsung Knox? I dont know how to find the same stock firmware as I dont know what I exactly need. As in if I need the exact same as it was when I bought it then I probably wont have no luck because my countrys csc firmware is nowhere for download.
I just realised - Im probably a huge idiot - I just checked the store site from where I bought my phone and it says the OS version is 4.2 not 4.2.2. Im going to try that but does every site only has 4.2.2!

Yes, I was able to get superuser working on 4.4, but when I tried to install TWRP via goomanager, something happened and I got stuck in a boot loop, I think it screwed up my recovery. I never got CWM or TWRP working so maybe I didn't actually have it successfully rooted.

That is because that file is for 4.3 and you already have the 4.4.
I checked twrp and it doesn't have an updated one for sprint 4.4 but it has a N9005 4.4 which actually worked on my phone even though I'm using a N900W8. If you want to try it out, download here.

[CANADIAN] Odin 5.1.1 Bootloader & TWRP Flashable Modem - SM-G920W8 BOI6 *UPDATED*
Rogers is the only carrier who pushed this update, it was pulled shortly after, due to corruption. I had to spend literally ALL day downloading this. I downloaded it 7 times before i got a OTA zip that passes a CRC check and extracted properly. What a pain in the butt it is i had to convert my Telus device to Rogers fully down to modding the EFS to get this done.
Prerequisit: You must be on a 5.1.1 compatible TWRP as well as a 5.1.1 rom when flashing these packages or your going to get stuck in a binary miss match. While there is a fix for this with out the W8 5.1.1 odin packages, it takes a lot of musical flashing. So be sure to be on a compatible 5.1.1 rom, Kernel and TWRP first.
As always, you flash at YOUR OWN RISK. I will of course try to provide support if I am online, If you appreciate how much the pain in my butt was, and you didn't have to do this your self. Click Donate.
The Bootloader MUST be flashed via ODIN 3.10.X or higher. in the BL slot. Hence why its a tar. Sorry no flashables, Samsung locks the boot loader areas to everything but their own signed recovery, from their own signed update.zip
BO8H BL
BOI1 BL
BOI6 BL *LATEST*
The modem is TWRP flashable
BO8H Modem
BOI1 Modem
BOI6 Modem *LATEST*
You can get ODIN 3.10.6 HERE
Samsung USB Drivers HERE
Fingerprint confirmed working by my self. on custom 5.1.1 roms and stock.

Yes i flashed it via BL. Whats your actual device.
Worked perfectly for me. So glad to have a working fingerprint scanner on a 5.1.1 custom rom. Thanks
Sent from my SM-G920W8
Easiest way to do it is just make sure the Bootloader is loaded on Odin first on your PC then reboot to recovery and flash the modem package, select reboot and choose Download so it reboots to download mode, plug the phone to usb and flash in Odin and you're done!

I'm now getting some new "not enforcing" red text during boot. Is that expected?

that's not for the edge... you could brick your device flashing a non-edge bootloader to an edge one.

This is why, odin is protecting you from your mistake. This is a G920W8 boot loader. It would brick your device if you convinced it to flash some how.
I do not have a G925W8 so i was un able to play musical CSC and FLash to get that OTA before rogers pulled it.
Just as a note guys, the fact that rogers pulled this update. expect all of the Canadian carrier updates to be delayed for weeks now.

Thanks Mr. X....Confirmation number: 14Y69764AE724154S a little appreciation of your time. Can I re root and then flash this on my Bell device over 5.0.2? Or should I wait till I get the Bell`s 5.1.1. It has been awhile since I had a Sammy phone. I had a whale of time to get back to stock using Smart Switch and Odin always failed for me. Just want to be able to flash 5.1.1 roms with most stuff working. Thanks again!! My device is the SM-G920W8 Bell S6.

As this is a 5.1.1 boot loader it will require you to be on a 5.1.1 rom. good news is there are many roms to choose from that all work perfect due to my audio patches, and now this boot loader
I would flash TWRP on your 5.0.2 device as it sits, then i would choose your 5.1.1 rom of your liking. Put it all on your storage on the phone except the bootloader tar. Flash the rom, modem and what ever else in TWRP. then in the TWRP reboot options reboot directly to download/bootloader. and odin the bootloader. boot the device normally and you're good!
I do have the rogers ota update zip but i hesitate to distribute it since they pulled it due to bugs, and is uspect corruption ans i had to re-download it several times before it wasn't corrupt from their ota server.
PS: Thanks for the donation!
I am personally running this http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-3-t3119968, with the new boot loader and modem. it runs beautifully.
Any international rom with a kernel for our device and my audio patch will work. the rom i link packs it all up in a bow for you no extra work. finger print will also work since this boot loader

Perfect, I was on that rom for awhile with 5.0.2 and some stuff missing..So the best plan is
1. Re Root and Flash TWRP
2. Back up
3. Flash 5.1.1 Rom
4. Flash Bootloader with Odin
5. Flash Modem with TWRP
And then I should be good to go? Where does the Audio patch come in?
Any other suggestions or order to my plan?
Thanks again for your time and hard work!!!

[VIDEO GUIDE] How to root and install TWRP - Android 7.0- Galaxy S6 multiple variants

Hey everyone,
This guide should make it very easy for anyone to root and install a custom recovery (TWRP) on basically almost any S6 variant. You've got all the download links in the video description as well.
It works on all Android 7.0 stock versions, including the latest ones (with the most recent security patches).
Everything is very clearly explained, with step-by-step instructions in the video below. Just make sure you download the correct TWRP tar file for your S6 variant.
https://youtu.be/BV1ELmu8T0I
Enjoy!
Here is just the same but in really short (because that isn't so complicated) And here are also useful links to get latest drivers, stock firmware, ROOT, TWRP etc.

Thank you so much for responding, but unfortunately l it does not have my version which is the (SM-S906L/TFN) variant it works but straight talk but when I booted it up it said Tracfone so the region I put TFN and the model number (SM-S906L) and I can't find it. I have the firmware for my phone so as this is much not a problem. What is a problem is when I do flash the stock firmware in odin is that i run into sboot.fail and cm.bin fail, and the only way is to delete them from the .tar file and rezipping them into another .tar without the sboot/cm.bin, and NO matter what I flash either if is a successful rom flash in twrp or what I just said in odin I ALWAYS come back to a boot loop. I'm starting to think my phone is dead idk what to do.

I hate to ask, but i've been going over every post i can find in the forums, including this one, and i think i am scared to ask this but.......Does this not work for the G920V Verizon variant? i keep looking everywhere online but it seems like none of these methods work for that Variant, but no one has said that it wont work on that one specifically, was hoping maybe you can confirm or deny if it works on the Verizon variant? thank you in advance.

Just flash CF-Auto-Root for your model (is avaiable), then you can easy flash also TWRP without problems with OEM Unlocking. After that do all what you want
---------------------------
Because I'm quite sure you're wrong. Just because there's a CF-Auto-Root image for the device for a particular build number, it doesn't mean it's gonna get past the locked bootloader. I got CF-Auto-Root from here https://desktop.firmware.mobi/device:841/firmware:2970 for my G920V 6.0.1 build CPK2. Tried to flash with Odin, and it failed right away. On the device, on the downloading screen, it says "Secure Download : Enabled", and once I try to flash, it says "SECURE CHECK FAIL: (RECOVERY)".
Also, the CF-Auto-Root README.txt clearly says: "Your device must have: - An unlocked bootloader, - OEM unlock enabled (if present) in developer options, - Factory reset protection (if present) disabled".
I was going to write a long post about all the things I tried on the Verizon phone that din't work, including mihaixp and rifek4's suggestions (things that worked fine on G920F), so I'll just say: "No, there is no root for Verizon phones", and leave you with this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/help/current-root-method-verizon-s6-t3647371

Plz Guyz Help!
I just installed twrp in my SM-G925l & directly boot into recovery , after that i did factory reset, advanced wipe(dalvik/ART cache, system, data, internal storage, cache) and than i was going copy the Rom Files via MTP but it says "can't copy files, the Device either disconnected or stopped responding" .
I don't have a external usb drive so can't try that.
Plz guyz, help. What to do now.
rifek4 said:
Yes... So true... For G920V with 6.0/7.0 I think isn't any avaiable way to ROOT. I never had Verizon and never looking for any post with informations about it, but from that what I know possible was S6 Verizon (G920V) ROOT but on Lollipop (5.1.1) ROM's only.

and yet here you just answered the simple question i asked in the first post you replied to, so thank you , but even though you say this, other posts seem to make me believe it is possible.
But just in case, here is what i have tried so far, maybe some other option i am not seeing in my searching has come up that you might know?
First i was trying to root via the method mentioned here....http://rootmygalaxy.net/root-samsung-galaxy-devices-using-cf-auto-root-odin-tool/
This method kept failing me however on the first box, not the green pass as is expected. I also in my searching found this thread about locked bootloaders... (crap my window crashed with the link and now i can't seem to find it, grr) anyways, there was talk of unlocking the bootloader to solve the problem....which lead me to this thread...https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/general/root-nougat-s6-verizon-t3710864
And i used that method, and everything went and worked as expected however i did not achieve the SuperSU that i expected to see int he app drawer in the end, so something didn;t work.
which lead me to this thread...https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...20vvrs4dqd1-odin-nougat-7-0-firmware-t3597007 to get myself the firmware needed for this method here...https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-auto-root-t3056630/post73993971#post73993971 and this post ...https://androidmtk.com/root-samsung-galaxy-s6-sm-g920v which was again just the CF Auto Root that failed the first time around.
So i feel like a giant game of round robin here.
I really don't want to drop to a lower version of Android to root the unit (and i also feel it really wouldn't matter what version at this point) but if that is my only option i might just try it, but so i kindly ask again, after clearly using the search function on the forum to look for methods, has anyone had luck with the Verizon variant S6 920V on Nougat getting root to stick and if so, can you please point me to the method you used on the forums, because all the methods i keep finding circle back to the CF Auto method that keeps failing time and time again. Thank you in advance.
So will this be triggering KNOX or not?
Could anyone please tell me whether Knox will be triggered or not
Hello, I tried this method, everything was OK, i got pass in ODIN app, then tried to reboot and now nothing is happening, i think device is bricked, but I made everything as you have described in video. Now when I try to hold volume UP + home + lock buttons, galaxy s6 logo pops up, the side buttons just flash and nothing happens. Could you please, help me?
Edit: I can enter download mode
Edit2: false alarm, I just installed wrong TWRP

[GUIDE] Bypass FRP S8+ Android 8.0

(This post is intended for people that legally own the S8+).
OK so in short I bought an S8+ online and couldn't login after it had been wiped.
"unauthorized factory reset" error.
This method worked for me (Samsung S8+ 64GB) running Android 8.0
To flash I am using Odin 3.12.1
Firstly we need the combination rom which you can download here:
Combination Rom V7/V8
Put your phone into download mode. Connect it to your PC and flash the combination rom.
(In odin click AP and add it there.)
After you have flashed, boot up your phone. Go into settings (Swipe down from the top) and perform a factory reset from inside the rom.
Let the phone reboot. Now power it off and enter download mode again.
Next we want to flash our firmware. I am using (G955FXXU2CRED) this worked for me, I am unsure of others.
Flash: AP - BL - HOME_CSC
After this has finished the phone will reboot and totally bypass the Google setup, you will have full access.
Now go into settings, Reset > Factory data reset. (While I was there I also turned off OEM and enabled USB debugging).
Now reboot once more and you will be faced with the Google setup, now you can enter your Gmail.
Enjoy.
Hello and thank you for this guide but i have a problem.
I have followed all the steps in your guide up to the point where i need to flash my device with stock firmware. When i flash my samsung s8 plus g955f with stock firmware odin says pass, then my device reboots back to factory binary with firmware g955fxxu2are1 although i flashed with stock firmware g955fxxu2cred. Any idea why this might be happening and how i can fix this?
Note: my device was on g955fxxu2cred before starting this process in your guide.
I can only assume you have flashed the wrong firmware, otherwise you would not have a different firmware version.
Try and start by flashing the "RED" firmware to start with, then follow the guide from step 1.
Sorry for sounding like a noob but what is "RED". I have checked again to make sure i flashed with stock firmware g955fxxu2cred and i can confirm this was the stock firmware i used. I downloaded this firmware from sammobile so it cant be the wrong one.
---------- Post added at 09:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:12 AM ----------
Also when i access settings from rom after flashing factory binary i do not have the option for oem unlock. I pressed 7 times on build to access the develepor options and there still isnt an oem unlock option.
No the OEM unlock is after you have bypassed the gmail login screen.
Where are you getting the firmware from? Sorry when I say "Red" I mean "G955FOXM2CRED"
Maybe some bad firmware? I got the G955FOXM2CRED firmware from updato.

I have a regular S8 (950U), most FRP bypass for these devices require the ADB FRP.bat to be run between the combination firmware and the normal firmware are installed, at which part is the FRP actually being removed/bypassed here?
I m trying also the same. I installed the combination. The frp is off now but i can't find the right stock rom. The phone has bootloader level 4. From where you got the stock rom? Whatever i tried i got an error binary 4>1.
I have the G955U AT&T.
If this process works smothly, it sure beats the method of http://www.techoxygen DOT COM /bypass-factory-reset-protection-on-samsung-galaxy-phone/
I found, for me with the above process, an easier method to get onto the internet by using a Bose headphone with a mic, and when at the initial login/setup page, which FRP then requires you knowing the login info, pressing a Bose headphone button brought up a prompt for voice command, and at that point say chrome or google and you are on the internet to get the two files you will need in the solution. After setting up the several apps, then you are able to enter the (your Google email) 'login', and on re-boot the FRP will be gone, using your initial 'login'. Done
The flashing method is more direct and less hassle.

I have a regular S8 (950U), most FRP bypass for these devices require the ADB FRP.bat to be run between the combination firmware and the normal firmware are installed, at which part is the FRP actually being removed/bypassed here?

Usually, the part where the frp reset go to OFF is when you make the factory reset operation from inside the combination firmware.
Later that, you flash the stock rom and u get frp protection removed.
