Manufacturer Warranty - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Soo the other day my screen starting flickering and went out I didn't drop my phone or anything that day to have broke the screen.. Warranty won't cover my phone because the back is cracked too.. If I got the back glass replaced would they then accept the phone?

Probably yes, but isn't the phone imei on back glass? If they don't notice then everything should be fine.

I sent it in to Samsung broke they fixed it all no charge

Samsung is good on that. I should have gone through them years ago when I got a galaxy s2. The phone arrived from ebay with like a water stain under the glass. Samsung would take care of it for free. The seller insisted they be given a chance to make it right and had me send it back for another. I did and when it was being sent back to me it got "delivered" but was really lost in the mail. eBay backed the seller and I lost a lot of money in that deal.

Sorry to revive a dead thread but did you change the back cover yourself and did Samsung realise the imei was different? I'm in the same predicament. Had issues with overheating for a long time but never went in and then the other day back glass cracked from a fall of 10 cm! I'm thinking of changing the back glass from ebay and then giving it to Samsung as they said they won't cover it under warranty until the glass is repaired for £80!

I actually sent the phone in anyway.. They told me I may be responsible for paying to get the back glass fixed. But they sent it back fully repaired for free. This came with having to call back multiple times and talk to different people. I was prepared to pay for the back glass though.

My phone got wet , I thought the phone was water proof , and I did not submerge it in water it just got wet. Will Samsung cover it ???

[Q] 2 Week old Legend - Cracked!

My girlfriend had butter fingers and managed to drop my 2 week old Legend on the floor. Cracked the screen. LCD still works, and touch is still working as well.
HTC wont cover this will they?
I assume the digitizer is cracked. I've been looking around for documentation to see if I can replace it, but haven't had much luck. Anyone got any ideas?
These may help :
HTC Legend repairs
Issues after replacing digitizer and/or display?
Do you have insurance through your carrier? If so they might cover it

I highly doubt HTC will cover that, to be honest. Screens don't just crack, ergo you must have dropped it or bashed it and they don't cover that. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if you took the phone insurance with the provider when getting it, they usually cover accidental damage.
Last resort- got home contents insurance? That usually covers accidental.
insurance, if your gf dropped it they should cover it...

water damage. replace motherboard or buy a new phone

The week before Christmas I dropped my n4 in the sink. I stuck it in rice and went to buy damp rid, then stuck the phone and damp rid in a plastic bag. 4 days later I took it out and it booted just fine. The screen was non-responsive in certain areas though. To the point it would be unusable. I took it to ubreakifix. They said the water corroded the connection for the digitizer. They said it needed a new mobo but they don't do mobo replacement. Sent it to lg, they sent it back saying water damage and it wasn't repairable. I don't buy that something can't be fixed, but I'm also not going to replace the digitizer and mobo when I could replace it cheaper. And don't want to replace just the board only to find out that it wasn't the only problem. Any advice would be really great. I have a n5, but I still really like this phone

yea.. or put in a drawer till n4's get real cheap by a broken one and learn how to fix it yourself... or at least try to .. a good experience.

Almost caught it before it hit the ground too... So Sony customer service is a joke. she said they probably wont cover it.. does anyone have any idea how much they will charge me to fix it if they deny my warranty claim?
. screen is cracked and touchscreen is totally unresponsive. was dropped from waist height.. screen shattered right away.. buyer beware..

you dropped the phone and it broke. why would they cover it?
if you crash your car, do you run to the dealer expecting a free repair?
Well, mine fell the other day from shoulder height and i'm glad there wasn't even a scratch on it after the fall D:

Why must you make yet another seperate cracked screen topic for this?
And of course they won't cover it, you dropped it! You should've bought an insurance if you want coverage for damage that is your own fault.
Your drop = your fault.
I can't get your point actually
i was using the skinomi front, back and side skins. i know they wont cover it. just sucks that sony is making a phone that cant survive even one drop. what since customer service cant tell me how much it is to fix it i was looking here to see if anyone knows?
All phones can get a cracked screen when dropped. Some times on the first drop, others survive many falls. It's all about how it lands. My S3 cracked from a fall out of my pocket when I was sitting on the ground, so max 15 cm. It landed with the display down on a sharp rock. Pure bad luck..
I guess there's no point in keeping this thread open now...

Water damage - covered by warranty?

Hello,
My girlfriend has owned a Moto X Style for 3 months, which she was unfortunate to drop into the ground outside. It had the original bumper that came with the phone and a tempered glass screen protector on, so there were no visible damage to the phone. As it was slight rainy, the phone got a little wet and when she picked it up, there was already a little water behind the screen, and she turned it off and dried it off and let it sit in rice for about 19 hours to get the moist out. After 19 hours she tried to use it and it looked fine as all the water was gone, but about 1-1,5cm of the screen now does not register touch.
The phone was only on the ground about 20 seconds, so is it covered by the warranty?
The phone does have that nano-coating that is supposed to protect it from water spray.. I believe dropping your phone into the ground once is considered normal wear and tear, or am I wrong?
Hard telling what will happen, I have had zero luck with Moto warranty work. My wife was told 5 weeks for her phone to be replaced on a warranty claim and my moto 360 was denied warranty work for blue spots on the led. So, my guess is if none of the moisture detectors/stickers if it has them are smeared then you might do okay just telling them it stopped working. Don't tell them about the water or the drop. You can see what happens, but moto warranty center in U.S. is now being looked at for a class action lawsuit due to terrible warranty work. I am never buying moto again because of this.

Dropping, especially in water is not normal wear.

You can try. I've owned 2 moto x phones (1st gen and style) and both have been through far worse situations with no damage to screen. It looks like that fall must've damaged her screen somehow. I don't think this is covered under warranty.
No damage, as a result from water or drops, is covered under the standard warranty. If you have insurance, then you can file a claim. If you wish to try and do a warranty claim, be prepared for it to be denied should any evidence show water damage internally. State it quit working and leave it at that.

Thank you all for answers. I have been in contact with Motorola customer service and the warranty does not cover it. They sent me details for a repair shop in my country.
My only chance now is my insurance, which takes for ever to process..
I am considering to buy a new screen + digitizer and change it myself as it does not cost too much and it is relatively easy. My only concern is that the phone stops working in the long haul because it is impossible to know how much was damaged by the water.. The phone is usable and is in use now, and the only problem is the touch still.. Is it worth a try?
If I send it in for repairs they may probably say it's unrepairable because I believe there are sensors in the phone that detect water damage, and I will have to pay for them to ship it back unrepaired...
If you have insurance on your phone you should read through it to see what is covered. Most cover water damage and cracked screens (lost/stolen usually not). If water damage is covered, most insurance companies will either give you a reconditioned model or in select few cases give money to replace it. If you are really lucky you will get a new one.
This is assuming you took out insurance specifically on your phone. If you are referring to homeowners or renters insurance, you will have to check your policy. Many cover the phone as a result of "acts of nature" or theft/robbery but may not cover accidents of your own doing.

Did it work?
I have similar issue and wondering if you replaced the front screen did it work?

I ended up buying a new screen with the frame and I changed it. It was pretty straightforward as I followed some youtube guides. Phone works perfectly now. I recommend that you buy the new screeen with the frame and everything because it's a real pain to change without the frame.

Anyone else have their devices replaced by Assurant?

I had my phone since release and use a solid case and screen protector. I've dropped it so many times I've lost count with no damage at all. I typically take my phone out the case and clean it every other day or if it gets dirt. Well 2 weeks ago I dropped it from a semi and it hit a rock screen face down and shattered the screen. I paid the deductible and got my new one in a few days later. Well I dropped it in it's case with a screen protector at Walmart from waste high and later that night I took it out and the back is shattered. Odd but didn't care too much. Well today my kid knocked my phone off from my bed which is 3 feet from the ground and it landed on the TV remote and I have a small crack on my screen now.
I do not believe Assurant replaces screen with Gorilla Glass at all. My first S7 Edge took a beating without any damage for a long time. This one takes light drops and cracks instantly.
Assurant doesn't fix your phone. They just process the return and shipping for tmobile, who sends all used/insurance claim phones back to Sammy to refurbish
It is possible someone fixed their own screen with a cheap eBay set (like I did) then turned the phone into tmobile for an upgrade or whatever and they sent it to you as a refurbished replacment.

I bought a glass only replacement for 20 bucks.
Watched a YouTube video and with some nitrogen and some suction cups the glass will let go of the touch screen.
