UPGRADE of CarJoying Head Unit Hardware for Android 5.1.1 - Android Head-Units

I recently ordered and received the hardware upgrade kit offered by CarJoying to upgrade my head unit to Android 5.1.1, which can be purchased for 165$, which you can supposedly get back $130 by sending your old parts back to carjoying. However, I have not contacted them or done that yet. See: https://www.carjoying.com/Joying-blog/42.html. This is how it worked for me.
A) Here is what came in the box. It was basically an entire new unit minus the Front Panel/LCD display. They sent me a new box with motherboard etc already installed, and a new touch screen which will be swapped from the one that is on top of the orignal LCD.

Attached below are a couple more images of the replacement unit they sent me. One thing I noticed right away was the new board has dual wifi-antennas(diversity?) which my old board did not.
B) So the process of doing the upgrade is basically this.
1) Remove your old front panel from the old unit.
2) Disassemble the front panel/LCD unit
3) Replace the touch screen front layer.
4) Reassemble the front panel/LCD unit
5) Attach to the new unit
6) Done
Attached below are some pics from the process.
The instructions that carjoying sends are mostly correct. My notes are:
1) remove the LCD from the plastic from by lifting up on the LEFT (buttons side) because the LCD has little clips that stick out on the other side.
2) remove the tape along the edge that holds the touch panel and LCD panel together carefully and reuse it
3) watch the black bezels on the edge of touch panel. Each of the edges is a little different width and that will help you line it up properly with the LCD
4) the old assembly touch panel attached to a little daughter board on the LCD board. The new touch panel will attach directly to the head unit motherboard and this daughterboard is no longer used. Apparently the new mainboard have direct support for talking to touch panels. This means one of the flex cables(the widest white one?) does not get reconnected (goes to the daughter board), and the new flex cable(little brown one) for the new touch panel does get connected to the mainboard.
This is what you get after this process, a new MCTD system that looks like your old MTCB system.
Next will be seeing it it is worth sending the old main unit back to get the "$130 deposit" money back or if it is not worth it after shipping costs etc. My total cost will be $30 shipping from joying + $x my cost to ship my old parts back to them in Shenzhen.

Have you had it up and running yet? Any noticeable improvements?

This upgrade is for any previous JOYING 4.4.4 headunit with the RK3188?

Yes. It was an 4.4.4 RK3188 MTCB and now it is a 5.1.1 RK3188 MTCD.

It is much the same.
I have noticed a couple of small things such as previously if the radio was playing audio would cut out if you went from the engine running to battery only, or if you were on battery and started the car. During those quick power on/off's previously the radio would lose sound every time and you had to totally exit the radio app and start it again. That was an annoyance to me that seems to have been fixed in this new version.
Biggest difference to me is running stock firmware instead of Mayalsk's version. I miss it and hope he can make an Android 5 version for MTCD-type devices soon.

I am still learning about these things, what makes Malaysk's ROM so special that everyone loves it so much?

No.
At this moment, only the 4.4 units with 7" screen (no fulltouchscreen) can be upgraded.

FYI. I have received the instructions from carjoying to send the parts back for the $130 refund/deposit. I am hoping the parts will fit into a USPS $27 flat rate medium sized international priority express box. I will be sending them back next week.

There are a ton of things. Off the top of my head:
- there are lots more things you can configure in the settings such as the font/color/size/format of the time/date on the top menu bar (I miss that, the stock is just a very small time with no date).
- you can turn on showing the network traffic on the menu bar
- you get access to be able to customize what is and is not able to automatically startup, and even write your own app startups on boot
- he seems to have fixed the issue of apps on the SD card having disappearing icons, stock icons turn blank for any apps moved to SD card
- his roms already have root/sudo/su configured and installed (it is a pain to do manually via multisteps) and include titanium backup which is very handy
- a whole new advanced settings screen
Really he does a bunch of small stuff that add up i guess is the best way to put it.

thanks, that does sound better. there is so much info on xda, sometimes it is hard to find basic stuff

I'm about to try this. however...
I'm unfamiliar with these little ribbon connectors. Can you give me a little tip on how they work/unlock them? I imagine they are some kind of zero force type.
I've not taken my other unit apart yet but the touch screen ribbon is marked 1-6... I suppose it will plug in with the fingers down?
I do hate to waste someone's time in replying to what might be a simple or obvious answer but if you have time on your hands...
Edit:
Got her figured. Rock the little brown tabs out, then cable in, then push in the brown tabs.
That's what I think.

Thanks for providing this information. Very helpful thread. I think I have the same unit, and want tongive the upgrade a shot.
http://www.amazon.com/Challenger-Wrangler-autoradio-Navigation-Bluetooth/dp/B01AZFAFXQ
Now just need to figure out how to get the upgraded components.

I think just for the double din units with buttons right now. But send them an email with your part number and order number from Amazon and they will get back to you.

FYI. I installed Malaysk's new 5.1.1 firmware on my newly upgraded CarJoying unit last night and it is working great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...lopment/rom-malaysk-roms-mtcd-device-t3385309
The fuse support he has that merges the internal flash and internal SD into one filesystem is a great feature and totally eliminates filling up internal storage so fast and having to do all the "Move to SD Card" stuff.

To clarify, does Malaysk's ROM work only on the customer upgraded Joying head units or does it also work on Joying's brand new out of the box 5.1.1. 2016 models?
The Fuse support is a much needed feature when the internal storage is only 1GB on my 10.1".

I believe there are people running it on the newer Joyings with the 10" screens. Head over to the MTCD topic and join in.

Does anyone know if the fm radio and Bluetooth modules are replaced with this upgrade for the RK3188 1024X600 unit? I don't have a motherboard pic handy of the current configuration to see if those modules are soldered into the main board or not. My largest complaint with my unit is the crappy radio reception and the distorted Bluetooth sound when streaming from my phone. If these components are replaced with the new motherboard...are they any better? Also what about the internal microphone? Thanks in advance!

Old topic, I know. Just for kicks, I emailed Joying today to see if any upgrade option like this is still available.
They said, no.

MUCH better off now just getting a new octo-core system. I actually have upgraded my core board to a PX5 octocore now as well.

XTRONS® Pure Android 4.1.1

Anyone have comments or warnings about the single-din Android head unit here:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0107L1XNY/
It is the D788A Model, with an "Mstar 786" processor, Android 4.1.1 and 1024x600 native display.
I am having to give up on the RoadNavi C315 (winCE) that I bought due to a slew of issues and problems (it's an utter piece of carpola).
Since I have a Fiat 500, it is a SINGLE din opening and very difficult and expensive to convert to dual din. Conversion requires cutting AC ductwork and buying a $200 kit to replace the AC vents with tiny vents on the sides. So I want to avoid that if I can. But single-DIN options are few and far between. The C315 I had before seemed perfect, but the software and hardware are trash.
There aren't many single DIN options, so.... There are a few with Android 4.4, but those have 800x480 resolution, so I would prefer this one despite the slightly older software.
Some questions on the Android 4.1.1 Mstar 786 systems:
1) Some reviews say the factory settings are locked and the passwords given on forums don't work. Manufacturer says this is to keep from damaging the unit. Can this be bypassed? Should I be worried if not?
2) Does this CPU/OS combo normally work with the Bluetooth stack for Torque Pro?
I couldn't find a thread on this model or processor - anything else anyone has to say about it?
I am not rich and already wasted nearly $400 on the C315. I probably won't get a fraction of that back selling it because it has a hardware audio issue. I bought a replacement board, that fixed the problem for two hours before it had the same problem. So I want to make sure I'm not hoodwinked by a piece of trash radio again.
Of course, Android is going to be a requirement. I looked at various MHL/Mirrorlink options and none of them are reliable. I'm sick as ****e of unreliable products.
Replying to my own post. Bad form, I know.
But, I found this thread:

From the looks of it, that's not a great radio. Lots of limitations... *sigh*... looks like I can't get a single DIN 1024x600 that's decent for my car.

What kind of car do you have?
Have you considered trying to make a custom bezel for a double din stereo install in it?
I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid, which was never intended to have a double din head unit, and I was able to do this with it.
I grafted part of a bezel from a different vehicle that supported a double din into my cars original bezel.

Hi
I know this is now an old thread, but I thought my reply might be useful for anyone lookning at this unit on ebay/aliexpress etc.
I own this unit and its very good (for the money). Good gps reception, good bluetooth and even fairly decent wifi. Its ugly as hell, but thats the main reason I chose it - its face-like-the-back-of-a-bus looks deter potential thieves from stealing it.
Install Navmii on it and its absolutely perfect for GPS navigation. It connects to your steering wheel controls and has loads of connections for speakers, amps, extra usb etc in the back. You can even connect up a reversing cam to it which will automatically change the screen when you put the car into reverse.
It has several different positions for the screen and it will remember your choice, so once you've found the position thats right for your vehicle, it will automatically go back to that position every time the screen opens until you decide to change it.
The only downside to this unit is the manufacturer. Dont expect any support at all from Xtrons as the standard response to any question is "contact your reseller for further advice", even if it was sold directly by them.
A lot of useful android features are locked down "for safety reason of drive"(...) with a pin which they will refuse to give you. Its 3368. Using that pin will not give you access to anything which can brick your unit, but does allow you to access the car settings menu so you can turn off the annoying beep-when-you-press-anything noise, change the car logo, access the equaliser and a host of other useful stuff.
Its got an ancient version of android on it, but it has the full play store and runs Chrome and Navmii perfectly, connects to my phone as soon as I get in the car and also lets me connect my raspberry pi via the aux video in so I have a dedicated trip recorder which is better than any dashcam on the market. Switching between apps is fairly quick and its very customisable, which makes using it whilst driving easy. It has 2 micro sd card slots, one purely for navigation maps and the other for expandable storage.
I wish there was a firmware update for it that I could trust but the only one xtrons have provided is for a double din unit and I'm not going to risk bricking mine until I get a copy of the current firmware as a backup.
I hope this helps anyone looking at this unit and wondering if its worth it. In my opinion, it is.

Newsmy Carpad 4

Just a place holder for now. I rec'd my test/sample unit today. I took it out of the box just long enough to snap a photo or 2 to send to a friend. Nothing detailed worth posting here yet. I'll try to take better photos this evening, and might even try to get wired into the truck.
Of note: It looks just like the NU/NR3001. Same screen size, same buttons. It also came with a dash cam with a dedicated harness/plug. I haven't investigated the underlying connection type (USB, Composite, etc).
Will post more details and clean up this OP as I do.
Thanks two-head/three-arms. Looking forward to it!
First look. I have a few software/language issues to solve before I put this in my truck, but here's a quick runthrough:
I can't watch properly at work but those Bonovo apps look very familiar.

Hey. It is not clear, and where a slot for a SIM card. Look on their website in China http://www.newsmy-car.com/product/showproduct.php?lang=cn&id=75
Thanks for posting. I am wondering if they packaged the main board in an NR housing as the new one is not yet ready, and this is a sample. Just a guess as the one on the web page looks a little different and it definitely needs a slot for a sim card. Seems like they made very little change to the MCU portion if the same code runs on it; stating that based on version number. Dash camera specific slot is of course new but all other cables are identical to the ones I received with my NR. If you get a chance please test USB behavior on shutdown. Thanks!

There is indeed a SIM slot inside. You have to void warranty to get to it though? I'm now starting to also wonder if this isn't the final chassis.
I'm also very frustrated in that the only USB Connection is on one of the small harnesses and it's USB-Female A. Which means I need an Male A to Male cable to connect to my computer. Since that is technically against USB Spec, I didn't have one of those. Started to cut a few cords apart and make one, but decided to just order one from Amazon instead. Will be here in a couple of days. Hopefully I can sideload Play services and get some real apps on here, check out ADB, etc.
I can't put this in my truck until I am able to load G-maps and/or Waze and G-play Music or Power amp, etc.

Definitely looks hacked together. The main board is much smaller than the NR one. I think they would take advantage by packaging in a smaller chassis. No heatsink on the one you have; the NR one is not adequate as is if you run all four channels at moderate to high volumes.
Does it really only have 1 GB RAM, as listed on the webpage?
Be careful with the USB you order. Several people have had issues with cables longer than 3ft. You should have gotten a second USB cable with it and too bad they did not give you the 5.1 cable (sticker shows it has the output).
hello, I am also curious. the Carpad 4 has really only 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal space ?? For me to have 1 GB would be a total regression.

What I saw is a failure . The device really is not ready at all. And what they want from you? What is the test? Here it is necessary to refine the mind is still lots and lots. 1GB of RAM is not serious at all. My NU 1GB of memory and I want to buy a new unit with 2GB of RAM, 1GB is not too much and not enough.

Where do you think the SOC is? I think it must be on the same board as the sim (underneath the MCU board or on the underside) as the SOC they are using has built in 4g/Bluetooth/wifi and all the antennae are all originating off that board. I am guessing that black overhang off the back are the external 4g antennae?
This is my Carpad 4 . It has simcard slot in the unit. We need to open cover to insert simcard - this is so fun! And we have somethings more:
1- This unit haven't Chplay to install app from market; may be in final version they will update this. I have only head unit for tester
2 - xposed additions (one of the most interesting module for exposed framework on our car) will not work at all. So we can't use this exposed addition module to do something as carpad 3. We will ask Newsmy do keyeditor can function as addition xposed.
3 - Ram 1Gb - this is downgrade product from carpad 3
The good new is Camera has got verry good quantily (HD camera 720p or 1080P)

The 1GB seems to be the only real downside so far. But, that may or may not affect real world performance. I'm still trying to sort out a few things before I put it in the truck full time. Then I can see if the RAM degrades performance.
The camera additions are pretty neat, and I'm waiting to see how this 'New Yan' remote app works (I can't get logged in).
I cut their rear camera harness and tried to wire in my existing OEM rear cam (I REALLY don't want to run their camera to the back of my truck!), but that didn't work on my initial test. The front/DVR cam is pretty neat. I was able to sideload Waze, and will make another stab at sideloading Google Play services this weekend.
I'll take some more pics/videos when done.
I know some are dismissing this device due to the 1GB, but I'd suggest holding off on judgement. What myself and @ngochoangimsat have is an early engineering build. If we give them good feedback, the final product might be well worth having.

That's what I'm hoping. I still think the NR is a pretty great device with xdAuto on it (with the stock ROM I could never get it to stop reporting "Main activity has stopped".
Unrelated I am curious about the relationship between Bonovo and Newsmy. Is Bonovo a supplier to Newsmy. The MCU board on the 4 actually says Bonovo, not Newsmy!
Another test video:
I also came up with a really crazy idea. I was working on a friends NR5002 getting ready for his install next week. Realize that all the Nu/NR and Carpad4 chassis and screens, etc. should be interchangeable. I have an NU5002 with no android box to power it... and of course I prefer the 8" screen to the 7" universal so ......
Tearing them all down now.... Could be able to make a Carpad4 version of my NU5002
Well, crap. I broke it.
The 8" screen from NU5002 does work. The chassis parts are not quite as interchangeable as I had hoped. I could force it to work, but still had a few too many issues to solve, so I went to put it back together in original form. Unfortunately, the LCD ribbon connector is in a vary precarious spot and it evidently lifted away from the board at some point during my trials. I tried to superglue it back to the board, and can get video to display if I put just the right amount of pressure on the cable, but as soon as I let go, it quits.
Back to square one.

Very interesting, I too have a NU5002 and would love an 8" version. Is it still mostly empty with circuit boards on the bottom? This would help me as I need to modify the case and maybe remove the screen from the rest to make it fit in my car.
Software wise, is it lollipop with a kit kat base like I've seen other manufacturers do?
Syncing text from phone to head unit seems like a neat feature. Any idea of back porting it to previous units? Honestly that should already be implemented in Android natively.

A real 1 DIN Android unit

Hi,
I'm looking for a head unit that would actually be 1 DIN, including the screen (so no pop-up screen, no tablet-ish on a stick). I wish I had more space but I have to make do with this:

If the screen doesn't fill the whole slot (because that's a weird form factor), that's ok. I'm semi-tempted to buy a used Parrot Asteroid Classic but it's sooooo outdated that I'm think I'd prefer my tape player.
Alternatively, just a screen (which would be plugged to a Raspberry Pi or whatever) could be a step forward.
I'd be grateful for any piece of information.
I'm hoping to be able to achieve something like that:
I had a pyle slide out touchscreen in my ranger. I just had to adjust the screen so it didn't hit the vent above it similar to your setup. What I did instead though was remove the vent and block it off above the single din. that made a nice slot for the screen to fit when extended. Wish I had pictures but I switched trucks and haven't swapped stereo decks yet. Used the back up camera input to plug in whatever I wanted, bypassed the e brake safety, and wired the control for the camera to a switch. You could do something similar

Something like this i think may fit ..... See the exact dimensions.
Removing the air vents is an idea but I don't wand to hack the dashboard, the car is becoming something of a collectible.
I've checked all the Joying's website, the smaller they have is like 95mm in height, that's still much taller than 1 DIN (50 mm).
I just installed the Joying 95mm one in my BMW Z3 some days ago. It still needs some work, but should fit pretty well in the end without hacking the dashboard. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Excellent, can't wait to see them!
I didn't hack it, its removable just like yours. If you consider it collectible I wouldn't change the deck then either way.
WhiteTitane said:
Removing the air vents is an idea but I don't wand to hack the dashboard, the car is becoming something of a collectible.
I've checked all the Joying's website, the smaller they have is like 95mm in height, that's still much taller than 1 DIN (50 mm).

As promised, here's some pictures. As you can see, the unit has snap-in connectors to mount the panel on the base unit. On the panel, the position of the connectors can be changed to set it higher or lower:
Here I used the highest position possible. This way, it sits right below the vents but does not block them.
Currently there are two problems: There is too much distance from the dashboard and the sides are uncovered.
I already modified the original connectors to shorten the distance (initially it was like 5mm more), but that's the maximum possible with the modification. Additonally, in this position the connection cable will bump into the dashboard with shorter distance because it sits above the radio bay:
So I put the panel one step lower. This way it does cover the heating controls about 1-2 mm, but I think that's fine.
This way, the connection cable is just in front of the radio bay so it would be possible to shorten the distance between radio and panel:
I'm just constructing new mounting connectors with shorter distance. If this works out, I'll also construct 3d-printed side covers to have it perfect.
Many thanks for the pics! Not a fan of the look but maybe I can live with it...
Is that the 6.2"?
Yes, it's the 6.2" one. I've now finished the new mounts and put it a little lower because it looks better that way. The air vent controls are partly covered by the screen, but still useable without problems.
My first set of 3D-printed mounts melted when the car was in the sun, now I made a new set with a more temperature-stable material (ABS instead of PLA). Hope this one will work
@WhiteTitane did you find a solution (nice S54 by the way, clownshoe or roadster?)
I've the same desire for my roadster, did you find a solution that didn't crowd the dash quite as much as the 6.2"?
Hope you did the fan mod on the 1-din chassis ? Older cars tend to have heater air leaks that could cause this install to overheat. Probably best to have the fan blowing into the head unit, and exhausting via the front cable hole.

Seicane 10.1 Android 8 2003 Accord problems

Hey guys, I recently purchased and installed the seicane 10.1 android headunit in my 2003 Accord. It has the integrated climate control buttons. In all of the reviews and videos I have seen, when making adjustments to the climate control, those adjustments (fan speed, temperature, air direction) should appear on the headunit screen. Since I first installed it, this function has not worked. I have made sure to plug in the small white cable which connects the tablet with the climate control circuit board. When I emailed seicane they told me to check that the Canbus setting was set to "116 Accord_7 (DaoJun)". I checked and it is set correctly.
They also told me to check the "vendor setting" and said that it is located in "settings- system information." I have checked through every setting and menu and can not find anything that says "system information" or "vendor".
They also sent me a new circuit board for the climate control in case it was bad hardware, so i swapped it in and am still having the same issue.
Also, on their website they say that the upper climate control screen (also displays the clock) should work, and it does not.
Basically, I'm looking for some guidance as to my next steps. Has anyone had these issues? Can anyone tell me where I would find the "vendor" setting in order to verify that the setting is correct? I am having a hard time even dealing with seicane because their english is not great.
I have pictures on my google drive but can not post external links until 10 posts. If you can help, please pm me and I can send the link through there. Thanks in advance guys/girls.

The sound system of my car is a premium one and the radio device must send some commands to the amplifier but it doesn't. Because of that, the gain is too high and little electric noises are perceptible. I have tried canbus options for Hyundai with suffix AMP and the sound volume becomes extremely high. That is not a solution but shows the correct canbus speed is not 38400 bps as set originally. I have read the correct speed for comfort canbus of my vehicle is 95 kbps, perhaps 100 or 125. In all case, is the same speed as Hyundais AMP type have. I think Nissan AMP types give similar results, and another third mark. I don't remind exactly other marks because the key idea is that the canbus comfort speed is not correct and it is also necessary verify all canbus codes and add ones for the premium amplifier. And, thus, the hardware seems to be ok. It is not useful to change it. It is an issue related to software.
I have asked to Funrover for a solution and I have sent them several informations as I have explained here. But they have replied only one time to evade. I think that people wanting to purchase a similar device must wait. I think this issue is related to Android 8.0 and 8.1. In all case, Funrover must give me a solution even if they must contact original software developers who probably work for many integrators. If Funrover doesn't give a solution, I consider that another clients must be select a different mark.
Did you ever manage to fix this issue?
I've just installed the same unit and have the exact same issue.

Oh no!
There's one piece of info I've found on that I've yet to try.
Check out this video:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=pPvaCGCaypo
The person had the same problem as us. In the description he explains how he fixed it.
Basically just try swapping the white and white black wire that go to the main harness from the climate controls.
Edit: Haven't tried it yet. Might be worth a shot
EDIT 2: I did it. I swapped the wires now and it works.
To anyone that has the same issue on the Seicane unit for the Accord 7 - model H221(L) etc.
I found the solution - in my original post below I pointed to the video of another person with the same issue.
In the video description they mentioned how they fixed it: By swapping the white and white/black stripe wires on the 4 pin connector that connects to the climate control board.
This image is linked to in the video, saying that it's how the wires should look after being swapped.

However, on my unit, they were already configured this way - and the climate control display was not working.
I tried swapping the white and white/black stripe wires in any case (Which results in their layout being the opposite of this picture), and this solved the issue.
So, it looks like there is a solution. And it's NOT software related.

No issues with mine. Worked as it should. I ended up returning the unit due to multiple other problems
Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I had this same problem too -- i'm one of the people in the comments of that YouTube video, who was troubleshooting with the OP.
I'm surprised that Seicane is still sending out cables with the TX/RX wires reversed... Still haven't figured out how to change Celsius to Fahrenheit though.
I've also mounted a Seicane H221 on an Accord 7 (2005) and I'm facing some issues.
MCU version: MTCE_HF_V2.96_1
Build number: px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20181102.112849 test-keys
Regarding climate control, the car is equipped with dual zone. When first mounting the head unit, I was using the provided Y-cable which is in case for single zone AC. Re-mounting without the Y-cable solved the issue.
I have still some issues:
1/ Important: Climate control OSD work, buttons works but temperature is definitly not managed correctly: erratic temperature, too cold, too warm, fullspeed fan while temperature difference between requested and actual is 1deg C, etc...
2/ Less important: head LCD display is now blank (no temperature, hour, ...)
3/ Behind steering wheel LCD display do not display temperature
I suppose these 3 issues are somewhat linked to CANbus management. First, I'm wondering if I should consider upgrading the MCU firmware (MTCE) ? Android ? CANbus protocol ?
I've read Hal9k bring some improvements on these units. Has anyone tried upgrading Seicane H221 with this ROM ?
Thank you in advance for your answers !
Anyone know how to get into recovery mode?
Any ideas about how to get into developer's options, I'm using Android 9 and pressing build # 7 times doesn't work.
hmm, i have bought the same android unit from seicane, this one came with android 9 , and somehow i cannot get the airco display to show up.
I did already try the connector cable swap ( white <--> whiteblack ) , but it doesn't seem to do anything.
I am also wondering, the unit doesn't show any lights on the buttons, so i am unable to operate the a/c in the dark.
is that by design, or should there be lights in the buttons?
Does any of you guys have any suggestions?
I have similar issues to some of you guys on a Seicane unit in my Australian Honda Accord Euro 2007 - I believe this is the same car as the US Acura TSX.
1) The air con controls keep popping up on the display every couple of minutes even though I'm not touching any of the physical buttons/knobs.
2) The outside temperature reading has disappeared from the instrument cluster behind the steering wheel
This is the unit I have:
I'd love to know if anyone has any potential fixes!

Thank you this worked for me everything pops up but in centigrade unfortunately. I also lost the outside temperature on the gage cluster. I also noticed the fan speed was pretty slow and the duel buttons and heater buttons do not work. My unit had a very noisy display and now it changes colors and goes crazy Im wondering if it is another wiring problem. I also have a way that you guys can put android auto on it. you can get the headunit reloaded apk and once you do that Android Auto works perfectly.
since the wire swap was not working for mine, seicane is sending me a nuw board + new cables...
I'll update if this is a solution, however, i doubt it.
ps: the customer support isn't that bad, the only problem i face is, the don't understand english
you have to be very specific and don't use complicated words.

So i got the new board and installed everything ...
and guess what, as expected it wasn't working, still no airco diplay.
so i went to my car dealer and he explained to me that i have a kind of freak car.
in the states it would be sold as an honda acura tl , but it was built in the UK . i have one of the first cars that came from the production line, and i think they changed some things along the way.
apparently the radio is the only thing different from the acura. it is the same as the normal accord 2003.
so he told me to look for a can-bus setting for the acura.
I couldn't find any, but in a last resort i found a canbus setting 120 "accord 7 'long chinese name' 2 "
as the board i have is version 2 i thought, let's give it a shot.
and upon reboot the first thing i saw was, in the upper right corner, i suddenly had the outside temperature displayed
i knew it was good and indeed it was. i now have a fully functional headunit.
i have no clue if this board swap was needed, maybe not , but it doesn't really matter, it works, and I'm happy.

ts10 uis7862 no front parking sensors

hi all
i bought one of these to replace a px5 unit in my 2012 ford focus. but with the ts10 the front parking sensors and the auto park feature do not work. the rear sensors work . front and rear senors and autopark is factory fitted. i have done an update from system. now at mcu version;-ts10v.1.1-100-414-a4c695-210818(mm031)
system version:-ts10.1.2_20210819.162244_tw1-v2
can version: s1s2fdf10a-210430
i have tried asking the seller, but they just keep asking for more information (what more can i give them?)
does anyone here have any ideas please. ?
would a custom rom help? different canbus module or software? ( i have tried using the canbus from the px5 unit but no joy )
or even just settings im missing?
any help please. thank you in advance

Hi,
Did you get any answers? Have same problem unfortunately.
No I havnt. Do you have a focus as well? Have you better luck asking the seller? I had another go using the csn bus box from my pc5 unit and the front sensors do work but there is no beeping as the px5 unit had a speaker wired to the harness an the ts10 unit has an internal speaker in the canbus box. But nothing when I try the Autopark feature. Still hoping some kind soul on here will have an answer
Yup, Focus as well. I did get some information over the Internet that cars "well equiped" have this issue, although I'm still waitin for my seller to respond in this matter. We are trying to fix it for a week now.
I did ordered new canbus (Rainse). I read that this manufacturer has better software, will try this but need to wait about 2 weeks unfortunately.
For now I get new software TS10.1.2_20211023.140539_TW1-V2.rar
But there's another problem with it, meaning my touch is "again" twisted 180 degrees..
Will keep you posted if we figure out something in this matter.
So here's a question surley someone can answer. And excuse me if it sounds stupid but is the software for things like parking sensors and autopark all done on the canbus unit? Even the onscreen overlay?. If so then the whole issue is down to the canbus unit then?
All shoud be going (translated) via canbus, although I did noticed, that with new system update my rear sensors now working correctly
Edit:
Screen touch is fixed, but still one of the butons of fixed menu (bottom), doesn't work. Don't know how to fix this dough.
Still waiting for our "friend" to response.
so if all is going through the canbus unit. shouldnt the one from my px5 unit work with this one?. everything on the px5 unit worked ok . parking sensors, auto park. air con.
i may try again the weeekend ,cant remember if both front and rear parking sensors worked . but for sure there was no autopark or any beeping as the ts10 canus has a built in speaker where the px5 unit had a speaker wired to the wiring loom.
so do you think the wiring loom from the px5 unit could be adapted to work with the ts10 then maybe all the sensors would work?
picture is of the px5 canbus unit

Much appreciate if you can check it. Mine new (different) canbus is on the way to me. Ill try on my side.
Auto parking feature for sure is working, but there are no indicators what so ever (tried couple of times).
My actual canbus:
thats the same as i got with my ts10.
so you saying your auto park is working but with no on screen display?
i tried with mine but was to scared to try it as there was no display to tell me what to do

Hi,
Since you didn't response on my previous post, I can share my discovery.
I replaced canbus which came with original unit to a new one (picture attached), and guess what... Now everything is working!
I have AC control from screen it self, front parking sensors are working, like they should and rear ones are more sensitive now.
Finally I can enjoy my purchase!
You are a hero. I was contemplating trying to wire my canbus from my px5 unit into this one. Now just need to find where to purchase that one. I take it the autopark feature works as well?
I don't suppose you have the link where you bought yours from?
Thank you

I mean ROM firmware. Hey, my radio looks different from yours. Why?
This can be changed in system settings as well (AC control off).
New ROM was provided by seller (if you want one, I need some time to upload it).
