Root H830 WITH TOT file - T-Mobile LG G5 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

Update ver 10d h830; Thank guide of @1619415
ROOT CONFIRMED + How To Root Guide!
How to:
Step 1) Install LGUP H830_DLL and LG Mobile Driver Once all 3 have installed on your PC, reboot your PC
Step 2) Download the Rooted 10D TOT and extract it (if you don't have software that can handle a RAR file, I recommend you use 7-Zip)
Step 3) Power your G5 off (or pull out the Battery) then connect your charger to your PC. Once your charger is plugged it, plug it into your device while holding the volume up button. This will place your device into "Download Mode". Now open LGUP (Run as administrator) then make sure to select your device. Once you've selected your device, select "UPGRADE" then in the section below it, click the File Path area and select the TOT you got from extracting the RAR and click "Start".
Step 4) As your device begins to flash, download DM-Verity Disabler and SuperSU
Step 5) Once your device reboots, pull the battery out of it for about 5 seconds then put it back into the device and enter TWRP (Hold volume down + power button and make sure to hold it as the device boots then after about 1 second release the power button and push it down again, then say "Yes" to factory reset for both prompts). Once in TWRP wipe your data partition TWICE (wipe > advanced > Data) then install SuperSU and DM-Verify Disabler.
Step 6) Reboot
Note: If you get stuck inside of TWRP (even though your reboot, you boot back into TWRP) run these commands in the terminal (Advanced > Terminal)
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/624000.ufshc/by-name/fota
reboot

Sorry arjuna's phone had to take one for the team. Hope you get it back soon enough.

I'm sorry if this is a noob question. Do you use the flash tool 2.0.16 to do this?

You aren't flashing your recovery properly in bootloader mode.
fastboot flash recovery <nameofrecovery>.img
Choose either: Clockwork Recovery of Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) as your recovery. Put the .img file in the same folder as fastboot.exe.
I recommend TWRP.
So for example,
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/129 Scroll down to recovery image method
Place the .img file in the same as fastboot
go into bootloader mode on your phone
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.2-mako.img
it should say sending.... then done!
then use vol keys and you should be able to get into bootloader and the android with red ! isnt there.
And thank you for not using the toolkit <3

Check my post (#13) in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1997684
If you received an ota you have to delete a couple files to get the recovery to stick.
Edit: the pic I quoted didn't show up in the app. I'm not sure what that error means.

Hmm okay well I don't know how a mac works. I know that you don't need drivers. I'm going to say that it's something wrong with the fastboot binary file. It's the error that you're seeing there. On the guide you used, the error is nonexistant in his picture. Bootloader is unlocked right?

-Yeah I unlocked my bootloader.
-The pipe properties error is gone, it was just a matter of switching usb ports!
I need to mention that when I flashed the cmw img and hit start on the fastboot menu, IT DID in fact enter cmw, but somewhere in there, I think I've done something wrong and my phone restarted normally. Now, I upload the zip file into the sdcard path and restart my phone into fastboot again, when I hit recovery mode, it then shows that icon!

Did you read my post?
From efrants android 101 sticky:
I just flashed CWM, but every time I try to boot into CWM, I keep seeing the stock recovery. Why?
If you updated your Android build using an OTA update file (either manually or over-the-air), the update placed two files on your device that re-flash the stock recovery every time you reboot your device. These two files are:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh <== this is the script that installs the patch file
/system/recovery-from-boot.p <== this is the patch
You have to rename (or delete) one or both of them, then re-flash your custom recovery. Now it will stick.

You have to use a app that has root functionality. Go outside of the /sdcard/ folder and go into /system/
So basically here's what you want to do. By the way good job at switching USB port and having that work.
- Flash CWR
- Flash the superuser zip file to obtain root
- download a file manager that lets you go outside /sdcard/ and then go to the path el daddy mentioned and delete those files.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...yLDEsImNvbS5qcnVtbXkucm9vdC5icm93c2VyZnJlZSJd here is a file manager you can use.
basically press "..." and go into /system/etc/ find file install-recovery.sh
and/or /system/ and find file recovery-from-boot.p
You have to rename (or delete) one or both of them, then re-flash your custom recovery. Now it will stick.
@El Daddy: He's just a little new. Don't be so harsh (you probably weren't and thought he didn't see it), I mean after all he didn't use the toolkit so, I have respect for him.
the first path is /system/etc/ delete install-recovery.sh
the path to the other file is /system/ find recovery-from-boot.p and delete that
You'll need root access first.
So basically, flash the custom recovery then boot into recovery.
Flash the su.zip file.
Boot into the OS and use a file explorer and delete those files.
Then the custom recovery will stick.

Thanks everybody for helping out. I managed to root my phone and this is what I have done to bypass that android logo with it chest open and a "!" floating on top of it:
1-Restarted phone into fastboot mode
2-Flashed CWR's .img
3-Went straight into recovery mode after flashing and was able to enter CMW and complete the procedure.
Next thing you wanna do is GET RID OF THAT TASK MANAGER! Let android work its magic... Enjoy !

[Q] Cant enter factory reset mode (devide turned off)

Got an LG G2 D802 which recently was stuck in fastboot only,no download mode not anything at all,
after many tries and errors i managed to boot to download mode and flash an apropriate version.
The thing is from that moment i cant seem to get in factory reset screen through Power Down + Power button as it used on the beginning i press the is im supposed and the phone just normaly boots, never get on factory reset or recovery,I can only enter the recovery via application from playstore called Reboot Recovery.
I can still factory reset from settings but i want to know why i cant enter with the other way and i think it a necessary function to have just in case.
How can i fix this in order to get in factory reset when the device is turned off?
How can i install twrp without autorec because this was the problem which bricked my phone?(download zip and install from current recovery?)which twrp do i need for the following device?
Any info on dorimanx kernel?

You're running 4.4.2 which is KitKat. KitKat Recovery is accessed by holding PWR + VOL DWN, then when the LG logo appears, switching to VOL DWN + VOL UP. You are trying the old method for Jellybean Recovery.

BEFORE FOLLOWING THIS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WORKING ADB DRIVERS INSTALLED AND CAN CONFIRM COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR PHONE VIA ADB COMMANDS!
You can install TWRP without autorec, which will result in keeping your KitKat bootloader. This method is also called BUMP. Follow my steps:
1. Download your KDZ from here. If you are already running Stock KitKat, no need.. just continue to step 2. I like to do everything from a clean/fresh installation that's all.
2. Root your stock KK with StumpROOT.
3. Download Bumped TWRP from here.
Extract the recovery.img file from the downloaded TWRP .rar archive.
4. Next we need your boot.img file currently on your phone. We can extract your boot.img to your sdcard by running the following command:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img
Once your boot.img is on your sdcard, move it to your computer via usb or adb, your choice.
5. Download Windows BUMP Tool.
6. Bump your boot.img file with the Windows BUMP Tool. This will result in a newly created bumped.img file. Delete your original boot.img and rename bumped.img to boot.img
7. Next we need to force your phone into fastboot mode (as much as that might scare you!), we can do that by running the following command via adb/shell.
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot
8. BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER, You should have 2 files on your computer: recovery.img, and your newly renamed boot.img (bumped with the Windows BUMP Tool). Next we need to reboot the phone in order to get into fastboot mode. So, REBOOT.
9. When your device reboots it will boot into fastboot as we nullified the boot partition. We now need to connect our device via adb and run the following commands,
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
These commands require your recovery.img and boot.img to be in the same folder as your fastboot.exe file.
(See the image below for an example)

Once successfully flashing your bumped recovery and bumped boot.img, run the following command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
.
That's it! You now installed TWRP without AutoRec, and kept your KitKat bootloader.

Dorimanx Kernel works great with a KK Bootloader, BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE A BUMPED VERSION OF THE DORIMANX KERNEL. All versions of Dorimanx above 9.1 are BUMPED.
I'll try your steps when i go home,
i've got installed the minimal adb driver which i found in my search for fixi g the fastboot problem of g2 i think this will be enough right?
for the twrp recovery cant i install it via sideload?from the recovery that it has now which is not twrp/cwm,its something else i dont know what but it has wipe cache install from cache install fro sideload

That should be okay. As long as you can use the fastboot command and fastboot.exe is present.

I have no idea, I've never used sideload before. I'm just giving you my solution to installing TWRP without AutoRec from the facts stated in your original post. We both have the D802 model and my methods above have worked flawlessly for me multiple times after reflashing a compatible KDZ. Good luck and take it slow.

[GUIDE][TOOL] Reboot to EDL mode from FASTBOOT! No More "Test Point Method"! [kenzo]

[GUIDE][TOOL] Reboot to EDL mode from FASTBOOT! No More "Test Point Method"! [kenzo]
Reboot to EDL mode from FASTBOOT!
No more Test Point Method needed
Technical Details:
Redmi Note 3 support rebooting to EDL in Android Bootloader aboot module (the "reboot-edl" command) but fastboot utility doesn't recognize "reboot-edl" in the command line and refuses to sent the command to the device. Since FastBoot command protocol is simple and text-based, it is enough to send a packet containing "reboot-edl" text over USB. The simplest way to do that is to patch Windows fastboot.exe file, replacing "reboot-bootloader" text with "reboot-edl". As "reboot-bootloader" string is found in the command line, fastboot.exe sends the same constant string to the device. So if "reboot-bootloader" is replaced with "reboot-edl", you can specify "reboot-edl" in the command line and the same text will be sent to the device.
New Update: Fastboot updated to latest version.
Tutorial:
1. Download the Fastboot_edl-v2.zip from Here.
2. Extract the zip in your desktop
3. Open the folder and double Click on Reboot.bat

4. Reboot your device to Fastboot Mode by pressing
Vol Down + Power button and connect your device with PC and Press Enter.
5. Your Device will be rebooted to EDL!
6. Now flash your Fastboot Rom with Mi Flash Tool to Unbrick your Mi Note 3.

Thanks to @emuzychenko for the Idea!
This is AWESOME!! Just tested and worked amazingly.
Thank you!
Edit: the included command prompt didn't work for me though, launched standard and traversed to this folder

You can find it in the fastboot rom. Or if you have recovery rom, then go to the firmware-update folder in the zip there you will find it.

Maybe stupid question, but wouldn't phone go to edl mode (with red led flashing) before flashing rom and what then mbn file has to do? According to your manual it is the last step?
thanks

No, my device is not bricked, it has locked bootloader. I received code from xiaomi to unlocked bootloader but it constantly stops at 50%, and I found out that it can't be unlocked without china dev rom, but no rom can be installed with locked bootloader I only want to flash an official miui rom to be able to receive updates...Xiaomi really made this too complicated....

Don't use this tool if your device is not bricked, your rom is a distributor rom that's why you cannot unlock your device, you have to flash miui rom prior to unlocking, you can do it thru edl mode using adb, search on miui forums and you'll find it.

If your device is not bricked, then you can reboot to EDL mode from adb. Do this to reboot to edl from adb:
1. Connect your device to PC.
2. Open adb and type: adb devices and press enter to see your device if it is connected properly.
3. When you can see your device ID, type: adb reboot edl and press enter. It will reboot your device to EDL mode.
4. Now flash your rom with Mi Flash.

Does the rom link given here unzips perfectly?
Because i saw in another thread of Lenovo K8note titled firmware, users unable to unzip due to error in system img. Also downloading from baidu needs a user id. If its possible could you or anyone else reading this upload it in some other online storage drive. Im little bit worried about getting a worse situation while rooting. Even if it goes wrong i can use the stock firmware to make it back.
