S4 i9505 + Caynogenmod 13: no sound with calling - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy S4 I9505 JFTEXX with the newest 13 Caynogenmod rom installed. When I use the phone application, I have no sound. The recipient does not hear me and I don t hear the other person. When i make an outgoing call and I put the phone on speaker after the connection is made then it works most of the time.. All my other phone audio like Calls over Skype, whatsapp etc. do work! When i do a complete clean install of the original firmware (Lollipop) then the sound does work. So It is not a hardware problem but seems a custom rom/Caynogenmod problem.
The following solutions I tried but unfortunately offer NO solution so far:
- Device fully wipe + clean install lollipop + clean install Caynogenmod
- Clean install Caynogenmod using TWRP
- Install Sound About app
- Checkinservices Google play services off
I read on the internet that the problem is more common when installing a custom rom.
My phone information:
- Installed: CyanogenMod 13.0-20160506-nightly-jftexx + Open GApps Arm 6.0 nano 20,160,505 + sUPERsU-v2.65-20151226141550
- Bootloader version: I9505XXUPOL1
- Baseband version: I9505XXUPOL1
- Build number: cm_jftexx-user debug 6.0.1 MOB30J96143656e2 test-keys
- Buid fingerprint: Samsung / jftexx / jfte 5.0.1 / LRX22C / I9505XXUHOB7 user / release-keys
I don t know much of bootloaders and basebands but I see that the one on my phone is for android Lollipop and not forMarshmallow. Is this correct or should I update it?
Who knows a solution for my problem? Thank you for your replies!

Same problem here!
I installed cm-13.0-20160703-NIGHTLY-jfltexx-recovery.img and after that I lost audio on calls (mic and speakers). The call connects but I can't hear anything and the person also doesn't hear me, just a terrible screeching sound.
I even installed the stock firmware but to no avail.
Any solutions?
Thanks!

[Help] Reboot Issue

Whenever I attempt to reboot my phone or it dies, I cannot turn it back on. The phone just sits at the Samsung Logo screen I and I am forced to do a complete wipe of my data, apps, pictures, everything. I'm not sure where the issue lies and I will be more than happy to provide as much information that I feel will be helpful to the situation.
About Phone

I think it may be something wrong with my kernel but I'm not sure. Also I couldn't find anything that related to my issue. All I could find was stuff in regards to soft bricks/bricks.
Hold power+ volume down.
Select cancel.
Does that work?

You might want to consider flashing back to stock in Odin and starting everything all over. If you do that make sure you know what files to freeze/delete so you don't get any updates. You're phone will want to update to the latest firmware. Sounds like you may have to do this.
But first I would do a full wipe and flash a custom rom, one you know is stable. See if you still have the issues

[Q] Can't install Android Wear

Some time ago I bought (tricked) a Bepa G900W very bad clone from Galaxy S5.
Once I began to know what kind of bug it was I decided to install a better custom Rom.
Right now it has this ROM:
Model: SM-G900W
Android version: 4.4.2 (I'm not sure this is true)
Baseband version: G900SKSU1ANDCD
Kernel: 3.4.5 [email protected] #1
Compilation: KOT49H.G900SKSU1AND3
My problem is that I can't install Android Wear. The Play Store doesn't show it, and when try to install directly from an APK, it gives an "analysis error", "an error has been produced when analysing the apk".
Does any of you know a possible solution?
TIA
I just found that this specific kitkat version 4.4.2 for MTK6582 is really API level 17.
Is there anything against cooking a Kitkat ROM, API level 18, for MTK6582 devices? Nobody has done it yet?

[Q] Increasing Volume trough editing config on MM

Hello,
I am really sad with audio output of my Nexus 4. Headphone output is really a joke and cant nearly hear it. Call volume is the same. I tried Viper4 FX and it did not help. I found tutorial how to edit config file but its outdated. So i ask if there is any Tutorials for editing volume trough config files on MM? Thanks for help.

Needing advise how to install gapps (on radical r-d211 2-din)

Hi guys
I have android head unit from a german / swiss manufacturer (radical r-d211 2-din). Which is running Andorid 9. I can't post links here so its a bit hard to post the details. => www{dot}my-radical{dot}com
Apparently the model is a 8227l
Kernel: 3.18.79 / [email protected] #58
Build number: full_8227l_demo-userdebug 9 O11019 1571038753 userdebug
Custom build version: alps-mp-o1.mp5
HMI: LOMU08.D.P.F.3.08.2020.04.02.09.12
MCU: LMQ07.191025(H)
MEDIA: HC_v2.0.0_191113_1430(v1.71)
BTV: BT.19.11.12.1200
I'd like to install GAPPS because these are missing. It is also not possible to register my google account.
I can install APK's, but installing the g play store or the g play services doesn't work. => Apps are crashing.
I don't have root permissions, but from what I see is that I can enable usb debugging tools.
I would like to preserve the current rom because it is working so far. (Front / Rear camera, Bluetooth)
The device is a touch only model, a reset button is available. The official rom can be downloaded from the site.
So my questions are basically:
- Do I need to root my device if I want to install the gapps?
- If so what tool would be advised to try to root my device? (I have access to Windows and Linux)
- Is it possible to root a device and preserve my stock rom without access to the source? => Only the published update / image
- How do I get access to the recovery functions without physical buttons? (I rooted once an android phone years ago...)
Thanks
Same Radio, same Problem
Hi,
i have exactly the same Problem. I am frustrated because when i got the radio google apps like google maps worked just fine. But after an update from the radical website it doesn't work anymore and crashes when i install google play services ( google account manager, google services framework, google play services and google play store). So there should be a way do make it work. Did you find any solution in the meantime?
Thanx Tobias
Hi Tobias
I havn't found anything yet. But I would be interested in a solution. Please let me know if you find something.
