To install recovery you have to unlock your bootloader

Then just go to flashtool and click on BLU button
Power off your phone and by pressing volume down connect your phone to pc now you should be in flashmode
Flashtool will perform Flashing automatically and will ask to connect your device in fastboot mode
remove your phone from pc and connect again but to enter in fastboot mode, you have to press volume up and by pressing connect your device to pc :laugh:
Flashtool will prepare your phone to unlockbootloader and you are almost there.......
a pop-up of imei code and with a button of unlock will be displayed.
Click on unlock and you will be navigated to a link
select your phone model and complete the verification, after verification you will receive an email, continue from there.. click on the Click here to proceed link and again you'll be navigate to the sony developer site
enter your imei number (check in flashtool) and then press enter
scroll down and there you'll find Enter unlock key section from there copy you key it would be like this 0xD94C5D7403088187 but you have to copy only D94C5D7403088187 after 0x or after x code.
paste that code in flashtool and enter
done now your phone might be reset so don't panic sit back and wait.
Now installing recovery

Working! How to root Tablet Z 10.4.B.0.577 [for UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER only]

Hi friends, I've found a way to root 10.4.B.0.577 android 4.3. Please see the instructions below:
Prerequisite:
1. Download SuperSU flashable at: http://download.chainfire.eu/351/
2. Download extract the boot.img from CM10.2 (attached as well)
3. Download the install fastboot
Steps:
1. Flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577
2. Put the Tablet Z in fastboot mode (press and hold Vol+ when inserting USB cable)
3. Open a console where the fastboot.exe is located, type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
4. Keep pressing Vol+ for a few times it boots up
5. Install SuperSU as normal
6. Power off the device
7. Flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577 again BUT EXCLUDE the SYSTEM
8. Boot up and you will have the SuperSU installed
My device is unlocked, I'm not sure if this works for locked bootloader as well. Try at your own risk! This method should work for both WIFI and LTE models.
[Files uploaded again, change 001.boot.zip to boot.zip.001 and do the same to 002 unzip]
This method works fine but only with unlocked bootloader as if you are locked you cant flash boot.img from fastboot

Sorry for asking again, I'm new and I'm struggling with this. I tried to follow your steps (my tablet is a SGP312). I followed the steps, but I'm not sure if the ZIP file with SuperSU has to be downloaded to the tablet or what, as in step 5 you say "install SuperSU as normal". Does that mean through play store ? Directly from the file ? If it´s from the file, how ?
When I tried this in my tablet, after flashing boot.img and rebooting, I got a loader screen where I selected add super used, rebooted, and then... the tablet didn´t start again. It gets stuck in the initial booting screen with the color lights passing.
Also, I noticed that after the fastboot reboot, the message that I got in the loader mentioned SGP311, not 312. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think through the fastboot reboot, pressing the vol up. When I tried it before I entered in some kind of boot menu, with one option been "install from zip" or something like that but I didn´t try it.
I tried entering in it again and clicked on factory reset hoping that would do a cfresh install, but I still have the same issue: when powering up the tablet it keeps displaying the intro (the color lines) endlessly

Thanks for your help. Actually I managed to do it pretty much as you said) except the advanced -> power off, which I didn´t know: I assumed that was the way to access the boot menu, and to install Super SU, so I copied the ZIP into my external SDCard, did all the steps, and my tablet came back to life... with SuperSU installed
Lucky me I did a full backup following another guide, because in my desperation to bring my tablet back to life I did a full wipe out / factory reset (which btw didn´t solve anything).
Thanks for your replies and apologies if my questions seemed dumb... It's been many years since I "almost" break a device and lost all the data

Sorry just realized that XDA did not allow .001 and .002. Please download them again, change 001.boot.zip to boot.zip.001 and do the same to 002 to unzip. Alternatively you can download CM10.2 and extract the boot.img from the zip.

Hello,
At this guide u flash boot.img from CM10.2 ROM (Step 3). At the end you have to reflash the new firmware so the boot, kernel etc change, because if u stay with CM10.2 u will get bootloops!!

If you unlock bootloader you can't use music info download and Bravia engine also. Although, I unlocked my bootloader and I followed your guide rooting successfully my Xperia Tablet Z SGP311 with .577 firmware. I used the latest flashtool to unlock the bootloader!!
When I finished all the process of rooting the music info didn't work so I tried to relock the bootloader with flashtool!! I did and guess what!! I have root with locked bootloader, stock firmware and working music info download!!!
You can make a guide that everyone with his own ftf can root his device just unlocking and locking the bootloader!!
The process must be done strictly with flashtool cause it keeps the keys for the relock!!!

[GUIDE] [NOOB Friendly] Root and Install TWRP on HTC One M9

Mod information 2018-07-29
This method described below is outdated and following the guide might end in a bootloop if users are currently using the latest firmware.

This is a guide on how to root the HTC One M9.
Your M9 must have an unlocked bootloader. There is currently not a way to unlock the bootloader, so unless your phone comes with an unlocked bootloader, you will need to wait until HTC updates www.htcdev.com to unlock the M9 bootloader.

If this helped you, feel free to click Thanks below.
Awesome! Thanks, I'll get a quick tutorial video up once I get my hands on an M9
FYI I'm pretty sure you can't root with the version of TWRP that's currently uploaded. It doesn't have writing to the system partition enabled. If you look in the recovery fstab, system is mounted as emmc.
You'll have to wait until an alternate version is uploaded for this to work. Someone will need to confirm whether rooting will completely break the ability to take an OTA too.
EDIT: There's also this disclaimer on the device page: "NOTE: Installing TWRP can break your ability to receive updates from HTC."
EDIT 2: The other question is whether unlocking the device will allow system to be written to at all in the OS, or only while in recovery. I think once some people have the device in their hands, some of these questions can finally be answered.

I have a t mobile M9 rooted
Hello I was able to unlock the bootloader from dev site and was able to install TWRP. I was able to install super SU and now i'm rooted!
here is my reddit post. http://www.reddit.com/r/htcone/comments/303ys2/just_got_my_hands_on_a_tmobile_htc_m9/
Worked for me
But to flash successfull recovery you have to boot to "htc download mode", the black background!
If you see white background you are on bootloader, here you are not able to flash TWRP Recovery, you will get the message "FAILED (remote: cannot flash this partition in s-on state)"
So boot to "download mode" an it work
trying this tomorrow.
Is there any way to virginize the device if I don't want it to be rooted anymore ?

Pull the stock recovery image before you flash TWRP. I neglected to do so (but I do have my Verizon device rooted with TWRP.
One problem, TWRP can't read or write to encrypted sdcards, either internal or removable.

Three questions:
1. Do I really have to buy an SD card to do this?
2. How do you boot to download mode?
3. Should the bootloader be unlocked before or after installing TWRP and rooting, or does it not matter?
1. Every XDA developer has one..
2. Choose REBOOT from the shut down menu, then when display turns black - press and hold hardware button volume - ..
3. That will save you from frustration..

Unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP...
SuperSU 2.46 isn't getting root...
When flashing it appears to be successful...
But then when the phone reboots there is no root access...
SuperSU - gives this error
If you just upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device!
Anyone else have this problem or know a workaround.

AFTER REFLASH(FINAL) WITH FLASHTOOL ITS EARSE THE RECOVERY PARTITION THAT'S THE PROBLEM I AM WORKING ON THAT TOO WAIT..
Problem is I made it work the first few times around. There was recovery and all was good for the first 3 times ( I had to redo the whole process due to the Rock1zk rom I tried to install kept kicking me into bootloop or boot animation hang) and now I can't get it to work anymore. It keeps having the red LED light and no recovery.
There must be something I did right the first few times or something i did wrong after....

if you got it then you are sucessfully installed the recovery...
if not ...install ROM MANAGER "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&hl=en"

PRF Creator does not create TFT but flashable zip file. You should get all options selected. Read more here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55082595&postcount=2

Root xperia xz 6.0.1 - 39.0.a.1.250

Before we start let’s do some preparations:
1. Find your IMEI Number, open the phone dialer on your device and enter *#06# . Write the number down for later.
2. Download SuperSU.zip file by chainfire, and copy it to the root of you phone external SDCARD.
3. Download and install ADB and Xperia XZ drivers .
4. Download TWRP recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-kagura.img .
How to Unlock your device:
Go to Sony Developer World Mobile website;
Select your device model and then provide your device IMEI number. You'll get your unlocking code after verifying your email.
Write the number down for later.
Next, Connect to Fastboot;
1. Turn off phone.
2. Connect USB.
3. Press VOLUME UP & at the same time CONNECT USB CABLE to computer.
4. Go to your ADB folder and open CMD in elevated mode, and then enter the following commands:
To verify your device is discoverable enter
CODE;
fastboot devices
* You should see your device serial number. If not, reconnect to Fastboot and make sure your USB cable is in good shape and mounted properly.
To unlock your device enter you unlocking code as follow
CODE;
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xYOURCODE (0xYourCodeAfterThe 0x)
* Verify you get answer back without any errors.
Next, Boot your device into bootloader,
CODE;
adb reboot bootloader
Install TWRP* now:
To flash TWRP recovery,
CODE;
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-kagura.img
Install SuperSU now:
Assuming you Have already installed TWRP, and SuperSUfile.zip is in the device SDCARD,
boot into TWRP using ADB,
CODE;
adb reboot recovery
OR manually;
Shutdown the device -> Hold the volume button down & the Power button at the same time -> Once power up you can release the power button but keep holding the volume button down until TWRP opened.
Once in TWRP, install/flash UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.zip and reboot. It will take up to 10min for the first boot possibly with additional boot loop.
If its fail, flash your UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.zip again and make sure System Partition is in RW mode (read write).
*If you don’t have already a copy of SuperSU on your SDCARD, you can try use ADB to Push it.
CODE;
adb push YourSuperSUfileName.zip /sdcard
If it doesn’t work, power the phone normally, copy the file from your computer to the SDCARD, then reboot back to TWRP and continue.
To reboot your device,
CODE;
fastboot reboot
Troubleshoot:
1. *TWRP - Fix READ ONLY when try to mount System Partition;
If you see that the System Partition is mount as Read Only (you’ll see a checkmark next to read only) you must correct it before flashing SuperSU. From within TWRP go to the File Manager and look for TWRP folder, typically you'll find it in /sdcard/TWRP/ and then DELETE the file ".twrps". You may have to do it several time (reboot after each delete) until it works!
2. It taken me some time to do it successfully. Be patient and persistent - the sequence is working.
Good luck to all.
Sorry, no URL's.
Also, if you curious to know, I bought Xperia XZ with preinstalled US rom and I’ve successfully activated the finger print sensor. Here is how;
Activate Finger Print Sensor:
If you have the US version of XZ, you have to install the UK CUSTOMIZED version.
1. Download UK F8331_39.0.A.1.250_1305-2216_R5B.ftf or the most current file.
2. Use Flashtool to install (place the ftf file in C:/Users/CurrentUserName/.flashTool/firmwares).
If it worked for me it should work for you.
which funktions do we lose when we unlock the BL.
i remember when i unlocked my Z3 i lost the DRM Keys and the camera quality get worse.
also the DRM Keys were necessary to relock the BL.
I would also like to know that myself. It is the same thing as it was with the z5.

Yes, nothing has changed - compared to the Z-series: In case of unlocking the bootloader, your DRM-keys are lost forever. You only can reactivate a few features with a drm fix (e.g. with the tool of @tobias.waldvogel).
@Carlobatusi
Please add a warning at your op!

No, you can't backup your DRM keys as of now, there is no way to root with locked bootloader.
And YES, installing androplus kernel v4 you will recover x-reality. and camera functions. The only thing that you will loose is the warraty, but if you don't have any issues with your phone, there is no problem.
My phone is stuck on the Sony logo after I installed SuperSU. I tried installing it again, but no luck

The guide in post #1 is old and flawed that I even suppose it did not work in 2016.
You need a custom kernel otherwise DM-Verity and RIC are freaking out -> bootloop.
