AFTER REFLASH(FINAL) WITH FLASHTOOL ITS EARSE THE RECOVERY PARTITION THAT'S THE PROBLEM I AM WORKING ON THAT TOO WAIT..

Problem is I made it work the first few times around. There was recovery and all was good for the first 3 times ( I had to redo the whole process due to the Rock1zk rom I tried to install kept kicking me into bootloop or boot animation hang) and now I can't get it to work anymore. It keeps having the red LED light and no recovery.
There must be something I did right the first few times or something i did wrong after....

PRF Creator does not create TFT but flashable zip file. You should get all options selected. Read more here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55082595&postcount=2

Working! How to root Tablet Z 10.4.B.0.577 [for UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER only]

Hi friends, I've found a way to root 10.4.B.0.577 android 4.3. Please see the instructions below:
Prerequisite:
1. Download SuperSU flashable at: http://download.chainfire.eu/351/
2. Download extract the boot.img from CM10.2 (attached as well)
3. Download the install fastboot
Steps:
1. Flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577
2. Put the Tablet Z in fastboot mode (press and hold Vol+ when inserting USB cable)
3. Open a console where the fastboot.exe is located, type
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
4. Keep pressing Vol+ for a few times it boots up
5. Install SuperSU as normal
6. Power off the device
7. Flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577 again BUT EXCLUDE the SYSTEM
8. Boot up and you will have the SuperSU installed
My device is unlocked, I'm not sure if this works for locked bootloader as well. Try at your own risk! This method should work for both WIFI and LTE models.
[Files uploaded again, change 001.boot.zip to boot.zip.001 and do the same to 002 unzip]
This method works fine but only with unlocked bootloader as if you are locked you cant flash boot.img from fastboot

Sorry for asking again, I'm new and I'm struggling with this. I tried to follow your steps (my tablet is a SGP312). I followed the steps, but I'm not sure if the ZIP file with SuperSU has to be downloaded to the tablet or what, as in step 5 you say "install SuperSU as normal". Does that mean through play store ? Directly from the file ? If it´s from the file, how ?
When I tried this in my tablet, after flashing boot.img and rebooting, I got a loader screen where I selected add super used, rebooted, and then... the tablet didn´t start again. It gets stuck in the initial booting screen with the color lights passing.
Also, I noticed that after the fastboot reboot, the message that I got in the loader mentioned SGP311, not 312. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think through the fastboot reboot, pressing the vol up. When I tried it before I entered in some kind of boot menu, with one option been "install from zip" or something like that but I didn´t try it.
I tried entering in it again and clicked on factory reset hoping that would do a cfresh install, but I still have the same issue: when powering up the tablet it keeps displaying the intro (the color lines) endlessly

you have to follow the guide!! at the step u flash boot.img and restart the tablet you must press rapidly many times to enter the boot menu. There u chose install from zip and find the file SuperSU.zip (i recommend u to use external sd card to save the SuperSU.zip file). When it finish u go back and find the ''Advanced'' option on the boot menu, u press it and then press power off. Then flash the stock ROM of 10.4.B.0.577 again BUT EXCLUDE the SYSTEM!!!

Thanks for your help. Actually I managed to do it pretty much as you said) except the advanced -> power off, which I didn´t know: I assumed that was the way to access the boot menu, and to install Super SU, so I copied the ZIP into my external SDCard, did all the steps, and my tablet came back to life... with SuperSU installed
Lucky me I did a full backup following another guide, because in my desperation to bring my tablet back to life I did a full wipe out / factory reset (which btw didn´t solve anything).
Thanks for your replies and apologies if my questions seemed dumb... It's been many years since I "almost" break a device and lost all the data

Sorry just realized that XDA did not allow .001 and .002. Please download them again, change 001.boot.zip to boot.zip.001 and do the same to 002 to unzip. Alternatively you can download CM10.2 and extract the boot.img from the zip.

if u flash boot.img with flashtool u will get custom recovery (CWM) installed!!!
Hello,
I have ever update my XTZ on 4.3 JB. Do you think it is necessary to "flashboot" again the new firmware (Step 7) after install of Supersu.zip ?
If yes, can you explain why ?
Thanks for your help

Hello,
At this guide u flash boot.img from CM10.2 ROM (Step 3). At the end you have to reflash the new firmware so the boot, kernel etc change, because if u stay with CM10.2 u will get bootloops!!

If you unlock bootloader you can't use music info download and Bravia engine also. Although, I unlocked my bootloader and I followed your guide rooting successfully my Xperia Tablet Z SGP311 with .577 firmware. I used the latest flashtool to unlock the bootloader!!
When I finished all the process of rooting the music info didn't work so I tried to relock the bootloader with flashtool!! I did and guess what!! I have root with locked bootloader, stock firmware and working music info download!!!
You can make a guide that everyone with his own ftf can root his device just unlocking and locking the bootloader!!
The process must be done strictly with flashtool cause it keeps the keys for the relock!!!

Question: if you unlock the bootloader with Sony tools do you loose the music download info and the Bravia engine ????????

Rooting SGP321 Stock 10.5.A.0.230 and adding Recovery

Hi everyone
First of all I'm in no way a DEV, all files and tools in this post is made by various DEV and a big thanks goes to all of them for there great work.
All I've done is combining them to get the desired end result. I take no responsibility for any damage that might happend by following this guide.
Prerequisite:
1. SGP321 with stock 10.5.A.0.230 Locked Bootloader(unlocking instruction here) or do it from Flashtool To relock Bootloader once done, repeat this step.
1. Download SuperSU flashable
2. Download and extract the boot.img from CM11
3. Installed fastboot (part of the Android SDK)
Steps:
1. Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip to SD card on the tablet.
2. Put the Tablet Z in fastboot mode (press and hold Vol+ when inserting USB cable)
3. Copy the boot.img to the same folder as the fastboot.exe
4. Open a console(Command prompt) where the fastboot.exe is located
Type.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
5. Keep pressing Vol+ for a few times it boots up
6. Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip from recovery
7. Power off the device
8. Put Tablet in Flash mode by holding volume down key while plugging in the usb cable.
9. Flash SGP321_10.5.A.0.230 R1D_Custom GENERIC.ftf via Flashtool
10. Boot up and you will have the SuperSU installed
Optional install recovery
Install Busybox
Connect Tablet to pc while powered on download the Recovery
Extract the content and run the install.bat .
Thanks for sharing!!
Nice! I can confirm that this works well even with SGP351. The best thing about this method is that it doesn't wipe anything, if you don't want to. Awesome find, OP!
Does this work without an SD card?

Fixed by Sony PC Companion ('Fix my Tablet' which just re-flashed the stock fw) after the struggle of stopping the loop.

A bit confused
Prerequisite:
1. SGP321 with stock 10.5.A.0.230 Locked Bootloader(unlocking instruction here) or do it from Flashtool To relock Bootloader once done, repeat this step.
1. Download SuperSU flashable
2. Download and extract the boot.img from CM11
3. Installed fastboot (part of the Android SDK)
So in step 1 above, does the bootloader need to be unlocked? Or does this method work with locked bootloader? I'm sorry, the wording is a little awkward and I would like to know if I need to back up my TA keys prior to attempting this method.
Thanks

{all-in-1 guide} root - recovery - custom rom - kernel- xposed

Well, in this guide I will try to concentrate all the process from a Stock Z3 (D6603) to a fully rooted, unlocked bootloader, custom rom and recovery, modded kernel and xposed firmware.
AS ALWAYS I WONT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, WAR, OR DEAD UNICORNS. PROCEED ON YOUR OWN RESPONSABILITY
Pre-process drivers:
Get fastboot drivers from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!upQkWCpA!BCvvsQR6Ee1gfmzAAGCeIMmFek2AaM0r_9HGWVNw8tM
Get adb+drivers from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!upQkWCpA!BCvvsQR6Ee1gfmzAAGCeIMmFek2AaM0r_9HGWVNw8tM
Z3 Official Drivers from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!v8JkkZAQ!w9ERWMs0L1UmWf_N3oCT4JgFdfU9NUFT7Wjv7D_bBh0
First of all you need to gain root privileges:
Download stock firmware (FTP format) https://mega.co.nz/#!D5ZXmJKZ!XWD6dae-NwKECGctrFsetFlODcf6EQMMYf22fCPHo2gDownload FlashTool (To flash FTF format) https://mega.co.nz/#!D5ZXmJKZ!XWD6dae-NwKECGctrFsetFlODcf6EQMMYf22fCPHo2gDownload GiefRoot and unpack it https://mega.co.nz/#!yxQFQbzK!KeA0u1i6KwKetj1aAaSLUZ_qiih1N0uox0GGes700J8Flash the stock firmware using flashtool, click on the bolt, select the FTF file downloaded previously and follow instructionsNote: The screen says press back+plug USB. It is not back button but VOL+ Button
Now skip configuration process, you will loose it all so it is not necessary but nothing happens if you want to waste your time.Once skipped go to Settings > About Phone and tap 7 times on Build number to enable developer options.Under developer options enable Usb Debugging and Mock LocationsNow, in settings enable unknown sources and disable verify apps Put your phone in Airplane ModeConnect your phone to the computer and open the install.bat inside the folder of GiefRootNote: Probably a pop-up will show in your phone asking to allow USB debug, check the "Always allow..." and press OKNow follow instructions on the CMD screenNote: It will probably fail the first time, just start again from install.bat point
Now let's install a recovery (it wont be the final recovery because this is changed by installing roms, we will stick on FOTA one. A few steps below.
Download ES File Explorer: https://mega.co.nz/#!j0xxESqT!k1VHSKi86lBgdh8NPbxmb3Q9FKFWDup7gAt-_uWkWCUDownload ZU Recovery: https://mega.co.nz/#!Ll4UVLTS!A8w4NeleaxjXBLQdUbZLtzGZRpPefX71rp27aCNV_mkEnable root and mount system r/w.Extract the ZU Recovery and open install.batChoose option 1 and follow instructions.Note: You will have a new App named NDR Utils, use it to reboot the phone.
Let's backup DRM keys:
Download TA-Backup: https://mega.co.nz/#!v0wgDCRR!xJBrmo1FfdvQQcFzK6ZO4dEfUi1YLaNGEl8XMaKu18sExtract TA BackupRun Backup.batKeep the file generated well saved.
Now, we will unlock bootloader:
I won't explain this point, I will recommed you follow this guide from the Official Sony's web: http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/ it is very clear and includes all checks needed.
Now let's install a custom ROM to proceed to FOTA recovery:
Download PacMan custom ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/rom-pac-rom-lp-mr1-beta-1-t3099454Flash it as usualLet it boot and proceed to next step
Now let's install the FOTA recovery:
Download FOTA recovery image: https://mega.co.nz/#!38xxBZZJ!2jwbChc-XFlilltodA7R0VQzQTnbf8EPbUokR38C4YgOnce the ROM has booted put your phone in fastboot mode:
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
Or turn it down, hold vol+ and plug the USB.Then flash the FOTA recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <downloaded.img>
Then reboot your phone:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Now we can proceed to install PacMan ROM again (in case you lost it while flashing FOTA):
Download PacMan custom ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/rom-pac-rom-lp-mr1-beta-1-t3099454
You can use this kernel along this ROM too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/orig-development/kernel-m5-kernel-t3045319
Get the permissive version in order to allow xposed to run.
xposed: I am testing it right now, I will explain it as soon as I see it is stable.
In your guide you use 'TFT' instead if the correct term of 'FTF'
They are FlashTool Files, hence the FTF

FLASH RECOVERY
The recovery is something like the boot menu you may know from windows. Its mainly used to install programs and apps.
1) download latest TWRP from download section
2) put twrp.img into your root directory from Minimal ADB and Fastboot
4) put phone into fastboot mode
5) run Minimal ADB and Fastboot and check with
Code:
fastboot devices
6) type in:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
! You can rename twrp image to twrp.img or something shorter if you want.
7) after the first boot - do a reboot into recovery. Otherwise the partitions won't be mounted correctly & flashing will run into trouble. It takes several seconds (or a few minutes) to reboot into recovery - but then you're good to go.
ROOT
Some apps need more permissions than normal. You can compare root with administrator rights on windows.
1) download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.67.zip
2) copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.67.zip to your internal memory
3) enter TWRP
4) click Install
5) navigate through folder structure
6) tap UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.67.zip
7) "Swipe to confirm flash"
8) reboot
RESTORE DRM KEYS
Unlocking the bootloader disables a partition on your phone where software keys are saved. Without this keys xReality, BIONZ, audio processing arent available. This program will restore this features.
! Take a look if xReality is already working before installing DRM keys.
1) download DRM RESTORE (drmrestore.zip) from download section
2) copy drmrestore.zip to your external sd card
3) enter TWRP
4) click Install
5) navigate through folder structure
6) tap drmrestore.zip
7) "Swipe to confirm flash"
8) reboot
! Unfortunately, there is no way to save the original TA partition at the moment.

It has been before this guide. Basically what I did was unlocking the bootloader, booting recovery, flashing kernel, flashing root, wipe, restore DRM fake, done.
Firmware wasn't necessary for me and I've made bad experiences with alternate firmwares / radios and so on in the past.
Hi. Do I have to backup my TA partition ?

Actually there is no need for it, imho. The fake DRM keys are doing a really good job. X-reality back, after picture processing back. It's also currently not possible to backup them afaik.

Yes and no. You need a different kernel and mybe recovery. Everything else is the same. I will include a link in my guide if I find a working kernel.

For now, you have to unlock your bootloader to gain root access. There is no other method at the moment. So in conclusion: locked bootloader = no root.

The new Kernel from monx includes TWRP, so you dont need to flash Recovery...normally. I know that my guide works, but only for E6653. I included a link for E6683, but I also wrote that I cant try it because I havent a Z5 E6683. Anyway, TWRP for E6653 should work for E6683 devices. The main difference is the Kernel.
Guys, what about E6633 ? Is it really bad ?
