FM radio on the Quark - Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo/Droid Turbo - Moto Maxx General

See this post over in the Droid Turbo forum. Someone with the Quark Droid Turbo XT1254 claims he's enabled the FM radio using Motorola factory software you can download here on XDA.
He said he did this over a year ago before the Droid Turbo bootloader was unlocked.

I've found one claim online of a guy using radiocomm to enable FM on the turbo. Tried emailing him, but I got no response.
I'm too scared to go messing around in radiocomm myself.
The claim is on this page

Interesting! This guy CapStar362 posted this on April 28, 2015 -- a year ago, well before the Droid Turbo bootloader was unlocked.

The attached image is the RadioCOMM program. displayed is the CDMA Tools, which controls how the phone talks to the CDMA Towers.
you can just see at the bottom left, PST_USB and XT1254. that is the model number for my DROID Turbo and the USB mode its using to communicate with the hardware itself.

Not yet. Maybe when I get through with my work week.

i tried to use the radioCOMM, but without the ID or any other data about the FM Radio the probability to brick is near to 100%.
If you have any data to enable FM i offer to try.
Regards

Chazz any news on this ?

Hey guys - This won't magically enable anything for you but check out Cloudplayer by DoubleTwist. It has local radio stations baked into a very slick material design app. Quality from my quick tests was fantastic. Even has the station's logo displayed.
Also allows you to chromecast local audio files with no delay (I've found nothing else that does this!).

I couldn't get the software to see my phone. I tried every trick in the book. I think my win10 x64 machine is just too new.

[ROOT] Enable Charging LED

@StephenMilone made this great app for the Moto X that enables the "secret" charging/notification light. I've tested it on my Maxx, and it worked perfectly. This mod is still in the early stages of development, but works great. Check it out! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602689

Can you please post a picture of this in action?
I've seen the post and the picture with the Moto X LED on behind the earpiece speaker. However, it was said that that LED's original function was to signal charging when the battery was too low to power the screen. I've had my Maxx charging when it was completely drained and there was no LED. I don't have my Maxx rooted so there's no way for me to see what this looks like myself. I'd appreciate seeing what it looks like since, even with active notifications, I get nostalgic for that notification LED from my RAZR HD Maxx.
Thanks

Unfortunately, the light on the Maxx looks pretty terrible, nothing like the nice one on the Moto X that's reminiscent of the Razr HD :/ Anyway, here's a picture:

You have to be rooted, then download the app linked in the OP and set your desired settings there
It does work!
I have a few apologies to make. I didn't think it was true!
Having some issues disabling though.

Just run the command "none" and it'll turn off - or reboot with the "apply on boot" option turned off. The setting is not saved on reboot by the OS.
Nice! Nothing beats an extra feature!

Hi, its a really big file, would take too long to upload to a server to download from, plus I don't really want the video to be distributed online If you need to view it you can always just go to the youtube link I posted and watch it there.

Big Google search update

Visuals are improved and the search seems much faster as well.

To get EVERYTHING working properly.
After installing the app update Go to system/lib and change libgoogle_hotword_jni.so to libgoogle_hotword_jni.so.bak. Then place this file
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ujrrodffh1g7rbp/libgoogle_hotword_jni.so?dl=0
Into system/lib and change permissions to rw-r-r.
Reboot
Profit
Great job Casey worked great and what an awesome update really love it. The OK google is much quicker. If this is any indication of android L and I think it is the update is going to kick ass.

Followed instructions above and Search actually worked UNTIL I rebooted. Now attempting to open search and it does nothing. No crash report or anything it just will not open. Can anyone offer any ideas?
Edit: disabling hotword detection allows Google search to work again. Guess it's back to the previous version for now.
Edit2: was able to get it working after following this androidpolice article: http://goo.gl/FqydFB It needed two additional /system/lib files.

I followed the instructions exactly as posted. I'm guessing it's a problem conflicting with some other configuration I have?

Hoff, these forums depend on users to get momentum. It is unfortunate that the community surrounding the turbo hasn't taken off. That being said, adding comments like this, among others about wanting to switch to moto x, vzn sucks, and how it has been taken over by maxx.... Simply aren't helpful.

It's only a matter of time as the device proliferates tech circles someone will eventually crack/ obtain boot loader keys and we will eventually get root. Just a matter of time. The moto maxx is too similar to the droid turbo for it not to happen

Yes, but first Motorola has to fix the constant ART optimization problem both the U.S. XT1250 "Moto Maxx"/XT1254 "Droid Turbo" CDMA variants suffer from. Doesn't affect the "international" XT1225 variant, just the CDMA variants which are sold here in the U.S. Strange. But as Lollipop runs on ART, it's a big issue.
Discussed in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58961882&postcount=227
2nd, at this point, they will probably go for 5.1, not 5.0. There's even been test leaks of the Nexus 5 running on 5.2, so that's out there too. But I think 5.1 is more realistic.
Useless thread is useless.
Closed.

so just a stagefright patch then? that would explain why the numbers are the same on moto e
But that doesn't explain what has taken Moto so damn long (tell me again why I still don't own a nexus - oh that's right, i'm a sucker).
