[HELP]Device name inside Kernel source? - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Hello guys, I've been trying to learn how to build kernel for android devices. As I'm using Redmi 2, I've started with it under the guidance of a forum from XDA. But one of the steps asks to rename the config file under the device name. I can't seem to find any config file under our device name. Can anyone help me out?

there are two sources availabel in internet,an older kernel source(unoffical)(WT8807) and a newer kernel(THOMAS).Which one are you trying to build on ?

Before you cherry pick you must be able to build ROMs from source. I assume you haven't built before. Building is a moderately difficult process. You may search on Google regarding tutorials for building roms from source (ignore the tutorials teaching you how to use an android kitchen). After you have downloaded the source code you can start buildin and cherry picking. Regarding how to download and stuff you can start from here -

[Q] some help on porting aosp to n3

Hello guys, :good:
I just started yesterday on building a aosp based custom rom for note 3, but I'm stuck somewhere and I'm here to ask something about my port session.
Firstly in the guides I've readed there says that I have to find the device tree and vendor propietary files. I have found something on git hub:
https://github.com/sibeveyh/device_samsung_hlte
https://github.com/sibeveyh/vendor_samsung/tree/kitkat/hlte
found these two binaries what do I have to do with these? Which one should I use? Where do I have to place it?
Thanks for the help
some help??

[Q] Need help to porting ffos.

Hi!
I'm new in this of the porting.
I have read mozilla's documentation for porting and I don't understand how proceed with the guide.
I have a Motorola XT915 and I would like to have firefox os on it.
I only find that the Xt915 has lock bootloader and I don't fine CyanogenMod or AOKP repositories for this phone, therefor, I don't know where to find the configuration tree files. But I don't have problem to build it.
I don't know where to find info to build the configuration file and xml and where to put it after.
if you give me a hand with this I would be grateful.

You might have gone through already, if not, it will be useful for you
developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Firefox_OS/Installing_on_a_mobile_device
I could see few links which directly talks about porting firefox os to XT915, may be, if you can describe what you have done and in what step you failed to proceed, it will easy for the people to guide you.

NEED HELP: breakfast cant find my device repositories

Hello guys,
due to the fact that no one has answered me yet on the thread regarding the haven of Halium and I do not really get any further with Halium I ask now again about a new build of Sailfish OS. I was downloading the Source Code of Sailfish OS and added already the device Repos of my Galaxy s4 (i used Cyanogenmod 13.0) to my local Manifests folder. But now I've got the problem that the build tools not recognize my device specific repositories, when I'm trying to use " breakfast jfltexx ". So it gives me an output like:
Can't find device specs for jfltexx.
So guys what can I do to solve that problem?
And which version of hybris do you recommend me?
Thank you very much!
EDIT
Okay I decided to use hybris-14.1 instead of hybris-13.0 cause of weekly builds of lineageos 14.1

Looking for an old version of lambda kernel (f320)..

Hello guys,
I am desperately looking for an old stable version of lambda kernel. I tried to search on the developer's GitHub but it was not there.
This is what I'm looking for: Lambda kernel, pure stable version, 3.4.111, f320
and the file name should be like this I guess "LambdaKernel-Pure-Stable-f320-04212016.zip"
Could someone upload or send this file to me ([email protected])? Or at least let me know how I can find it online?
Many thanks!
