Anyone with dead/stuck pixels? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Got my first S7E, realized both the main speaker and headset speaker were very crackly. Did a swap and the new phone was great. On day 14 (luckily at least) a single dead pixel developed in the center of the screen. It appears on green, white, and grey backgrounds and is green in color. Not having great luck with this device.....
Anyone else experiencing dead pixels? I tried an app on the playstore which rotted colors for like 8 hours but still no change. Not sure if just need to swap it out again.
Thanks all

Since you are still in your 14day period go ahead and exchange it..

Probably going to. Just scary that the pixel wasnt there until the 13th day of having it. Would suck hard if it were say on the 15th day. I always fixed the dead pixels would be that one from the get go not just appear later ya know...

Week old nexus one, already dead pixels.

Well I received my nexus one about a week ago and I absolutely love everything about it...
Unfortunately I've just noticed two dead pixels on the screen. One top left and the other bottom right. Both about an inch in from the screens edge.
I've seen a lot of posts of people complaining about clicking edges and dust under their screens but I'm pretty sure this is not dust. The specks look identical to each other and are tiny in size. They are mainly visible on light/white backgrounds.
Unfortunately I live far away from any of the Google supported countries so doing any kind of exchange is going to be really difficult :-(
Anyone seen similar issues? Any suggestions?
There's a coupla apps on the market to check for dead pixels.
All they do is flash up white, black, red, green, blue so you can see what pixel is stuck. It might be worth trying one of those just to make sure they are actually dead pixels.
If they were working before, they might just be stuck pixels, and alot of toggling between colours may unstick them.

But if it was a stuck pixel then you would see it lighting up on dark backgrounds but these are only noticeable on white or bright backgrounds.
BTW I have already tried the market apparently and no joy.
Has no one else been noticing these?
I had one stuck pixel that appeared a couple days after i got my phone
but i fixed it and it came back like 5 times.
But knock on wood its been 4 weeks and it hasn't come back.
Mine was weird it would only show on the lock screen and it was very random but once i swiped to unlocked it went away so it wasn't that bad.
If i were you I would return it especially were its two pixels and software isnt fixing it.

OLED have very deep blacks so its hard to tell if its stuck on black or if it is dead
...anyhow if you cant fix it you should return it.
Man returning it is a such a mission as it was bought in Singapore and I'm not even there any more...
I suppose I could find a way to send it back there and then from there back to the US.... heh. The problem is that I only received the handset about a week ago so if these kinds of problems have been reported since the launch whaat says the replacement wont have the exact same issue? Which would then be a massive waste of time and money ;(
Thats the problem i even set up an RMA to return mine but had a gut feeling i would regret it. So i canceled my RMA and prayed the pixel would eventually not stick anymore.
I didn't want to take a chance of getting a referb phone with other issues.
I feel your pain EVERY device that I get now days that has a LCD screen ALWAYS has at least one dead pixel. But to my surprise my Nexus One is 100% fine .

Stuck Pixel Desire HD

Hello, i'm sorry for create duplicate thread from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1093995 because i did't get any answer, so i decided to open new thread at this subforum, because many ppl look at it
few weeks ago [3 may 2011] i bought a new desire HD
and today, i realized there's a stuck pixel at the top right panel near the clock, the panel gray and the stuck pixel just colour almost same, take time and focus to realize it.
i create a new thread because all other threads of the stuck pixel didn't give me any solution
and this stuck pixel not just stuck in 1 colour
but,
when the screen is white, the pixel is red
when screen blue, its blue [dissapear]
when screen light purple, its light purple
when screen black, its black
when screen green, its blue
idk if the pixel really gone when its blue or purple, but my eyes are normal i guess..
JscreenFix tested, 1 hour, no work
tapping, scrubing, massage method, no work
is there any other method that you recommend?
i didn't root the phone yet because it still in Warranty, and i guess if i bring it to HTC Care, i won't get a new unit, but a new lcd, and the mechanic sure open the phone and broke the void sticker..
any suggestion?
If you have tried all the above I would phone HTC and try and get it replaced...
Good luck as some people have problems replacing phones with dead/stuck pixels as they are allowed a certain percentage of dead/stuck before its deemed a fault

The HTC didn't want to replace it, but i contact the shop where i buy and ask them for replacement, but still is there any other method that someone had test it and work?
I'm not suggesting this, do it at your own risk, don't blame me if you brake anything!!!
There is a way of "unstucking" the pixel by pressing hard on your screen(so I've heard, never had a dead pixel in my life=>never tried it). It looks like that your pixel isn't actually "dead"(it would only shine in one color(white) or wouldn't shine(black) if it was), but rather "stuck"(again, so I've heard, and didn't do any research about it, how and why is this happening, so there's a big chance I'm wrong).
If they won't replace your phone, and you don't really want to try exotic stuff that might break your phone(like pressing hard on the screen/dissassembling the phone and poking the screen from behind with the screwdriver/yelling loud at it), there isn't really anything that you can do about it, except get used to it...
I've had a stuck pixel on my Desire HD since 4 days after i purchased it, which was at the beginning of December. At the time, i tried everything i could to fix it but nothing worked. So now i just learned to live with it.
Btw, i really recommend to not try push/massage on the screen because the glass on the DHD does not flex. If you apply enough pressure you could shatter the glass (considering it's not gorilla glass).
So if JScreenFix doesnt do anything then im afraid nothing can really be done, unless you decide to disassemble the phone yourself (i dont recommend), or brake your phone purposely so HTC will replace it

It takes 3 dead pixels to replace it with a new one, here were I live. I have one on my DHD, but it's in the down right corner, can't even see it, noticed it by accident when i was watching a video that was cropped so it had alot of black around it.
Otherwise, don't see it-don't care
I've even had a dead pixel on my Philips monitor, for 1 year, and then it just dissapeared. And it was a red ugly one, right in the middle of the screen, very annoying.
I've had a stuck pixel for some time now. It's bright red and in the middle of the screen, i just lived it. I barely notice it. Only when i look for it do i find it. I'm tempted to say 2.3 fixed the problem for me but it could just be that i changed my wallpaper from the live sense one to a black one.

[Q] Display fault. Hardware/software?

So i recieved my Galaxy s2 the other day, as a replacement for my HTC HD2 which was in for a repair with a broken screen - apparently it was 'unecconomical' to repair - but i certainly wasnt complaining!
Awesome phone, had it for two days, rooted it fine using Odin and superoneclick - fantastic tool..
After rooting i re-flashed with stock kernel again.
All was absolutely fine, i was using my phone without problems until a few hours later (yesterday evening) when after putting it down for five minutes and picking it up again, there was a pixel wide horizontal line running across the screen.
They are not dead or stuck pixels, as they change colour with the background- they just appear extremely brightly, so stand out from the rest of the display.
No amount of adjusting has resolved this, rebooting/hard reset etc. the line remains prominently running from the right side, and slowly fading to the left.
Ive searched online but cant see any issues with screens like this, just dead pixel lines and stuck pixels.
If anyone may have an idea on whether this could be software related problem or hardware related would be great to know your thoughts.
Cheers, Alex
I would be taking it straight back . I got a couple of sgs2 handsets back in may when they were 1st released and i had numerous screen issues. i got one a few days ago an my friend got one yesterday and the screens are pretty much bang on (tiny tiny yellow tint if you go looking for it)
No lines , no dead pixels , beautifull screens even with the slight yellow tint
I hated my 1st screens so there are defo some bad ones knocking about and some that are literally 10x nicer to look at
Like i say take it back buddy
Good luck with it and let us know how you got on
Also pictures of the problem could be interesting
Yep I definitely will...
Just whether to un-root and reset flash count first or not - probs a good idea im thinking.
Aside from that i agree its a lovely display- ive heard about the yellow tint but noticed it on mine.
Will try and get a pic up before it goes back..
Cheers for the input!

Anybody having/had this weird display issue?

Hey all,
Yesterday morning woke up to my MZF's screen being all weird. Anything dark looks fine, but the white levels are very subdued and even seem to have a slight reddish tinge. And there's also these two black dots that wont go anywhere. Seem larger than just a dead pixel. This has been going on for a full day now; every once in a while it seems that the colors go back to normal, but the problems seems to always return.
Photos below show my MZF (right) next to my buddy's MZF (left). Both displays are at full brightness. Didn't purchase protection through Best Buy or Verizon, so I'm likely gonna have to deal with Motorola Customer Service. Yay.
Any one else seen this? Any ideas?
Do a factory reset and see if it calibrates itself

Yeah, I did that right after posting. No luck. Thanks tho.
Try the hardware tests from device help?

Tried those too, no luck. Have a new MZF on its way from Motorola, warranty is covering it.
I JUST sent my Moto Z Force in for nearly this same issue. I was cleaning the screen off and I had a black dot pop up and after about 3 hours of it showing up I had a bright yellow line running from the dot to the top of the screen. Warranty is covering mine as well.
I had the same problem with the color/contrast on my Moto Z Force, but without any black dots. Mine had the same blue tint/haze to the display. I did a factory reset with no luck. I am getting a warranty replacement today, but this morning the problem disappeared (6 days after the problem started). I think I'm still going to take the replacement.
I have a little different issue. Screen has 4 rows of multi colored small lines. Unreadable, yet the touch and buttons are still functioning, any ideas?

S6 LITE YELLOWISH LIGHT COLOR ON EDGES PLEASE HELP!

Did anybody experience this? Please help, before i return this to the store. I barely use this since i bought it because im busy, factory reset, off blue filter, checked brightness, asked my siblings also to take a look, they said they see a yellow light color on edges... 1 week old new s6 lite. First time to encounter this in samsung.. I hate it when getting into warranty because its too slow, many months before you get it back!
no pictures because you may not see it clearly..
Im on darkmode also, and low brightness only. I noticed it when i was to read my book!

Even I'm facing uneven brightness from corner in this device though not the yellowish colour.
I had exactly the same problem with my 5 month old tab. Just took it to service centre last week. They changed the screen. It took one day. Always on dark mode until I turned it off and saw the yellow edges. Like an old book. I thought only oled screens get burn in.
