XT1581 XT1580 XT1585, couple questions - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I heard not all model have shatterproof screen, which model have it?
Also, which one could unlock bootloader at this moment? Anyone could provide some detail please?

Double click on the model, right click, search... gave answer that 1581 and 1580 are Moto X Force, 1585 is Turbo 2. All Moto X Forces have unlockable bootloader. All models have shatterproof screen.

He's telling you a simple google search would have answered your question, if you highlight the text in your browser and right click on it, you can do a search from the menu that pops up...

hey, I'm contemplating of buying XT1580 or XT1581. The asian version is cheaper with 2 sim support. any reason why should i go for EMEA XT1580 anyway? Is experience with OS the same or chinese have some bloatware installed? pls share your experience with chinese phone. Thank you.

The Chinese XT1580 has no Google apps at all (Play Store, gMail, etc). You will need to unlock the bootloader to revise the OS to one that has them installed. (I'm pretty sure you can't just side-load the core Google Apps)
That said, I have a Chinese XT1580 with appended Google apps, and although it's stuck at Android 5.11, it works fine with dual-SIMs, and all current apps. It even passes Google SafetyNet with TWRP installed and the bootloader unlocked.

your device is not qualify for bootloader unlock
my device Droid turbo 2 xt1585 verizon
Any one find the unlock method of this device let me know?

There isn't, there won't be. You have the wrong Kinzie.
If this is important to you, you have to research before you buy your phone.

My life with Moto X in Germany

Hi to all. I just wanna share my experiences with my Moto X here in Germany and I want to answer a few questions I had before to help persons like me which wants a moto x outside of the USA.
I've got my X (XT1053 developer edition GSM) via eBay straight from the US. I have to pay import taxes around 120€.
The first thing I've noticed was that the X only comes with 4 system languages (even on KitKat), no one of them were German. So I've tried around a bit to get German language but I doesn't succeeded.
Them I've unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and rooted my phone with that.
The next step was that I've flashed eclipse ROM (which originally based on the VZW version of KitKat). That gives me all base android system languages. Even touchless control works now on German.
That I've flashed a VZW ROM doesn't break anything, I'm able to use the phone with my GSM SIM (Vodafone, nano SIM) without problems (except that LTE isn't supported because of the frequencies, but that is no problem for me since I doesn't have a LTE contact).
So far, I have a fully working Moto X here in Germany and I have to say that this is the best phone over ever had (I came from a RAZR i).
The last thing I have to say is, sorry for my English if it is not so good, but I hope it's understandable.

glad you're enjoying it! Best phone of the year.

I live in Denmark, and bought the 1058 from Canada/Rogers - it uses the same GSM/LTEbands as we do here.
Unlocked bootloader, flashed several ROM's....everything is working perfectly.....really like it.
Coming from lots of Razr's og lately Oppo Find 5.

Does google now just google what you are saying or can it recognize things to do?
Like, remember me to pick up brian today, who is Tom Cruise (and google now speaks, not only googles it), Navigate to achtungstrasse 32 etc?
I live in Sweden and I don't care about having the system language in english, hell, every phone I'v had the last 10 years was set that way.
The problem is saying swedish street names, swedish names, swedish stores etc.
I tried to set the language to swedish in the google now options menu and sure, it recognize swedish but it only googles it. None of the commands are working so I went back to english.

Many, but not all commands work in German. Most of the important things like navigate, reminders, alarms and many questions work. What doesn't work are conversions (units and currency), translations, "what's this song?" and a few knowledge questions among other things.
All this has nothing to do with the device though, it's solely a matter of Google Now.

From which US reseller did you buy please? Did you also try/research to buy the Moto X Dev directly from Motorola US?
Why is everybody writing that the Moto X is the best phone? I am just curious, because I like it too and can't wait to see it in reality this Saturday in Germany. But performance / Benchmarks show that it is slower than the S4 Mini which I use at the the Moment, and nothing compared to the LG G2?!

Yeah benchmarks, getting this phone makes you realize that those don't compare to real world usage. Which is why the Moto X is blowing any and everyone away.
Moto X is Android smartphone done right. Not saying it beats every other flagship but it does more than what was suppose to be expected while holding it's ground.
It truly is a phone you would want to have and what to use. Also the customization option is great.

Did anybody try to install this Retail firmware? Just got my Rogers 1058 Moto X & would like to use it like a german Moto X. I have to search if there is a thread about this firmware thing ... Things have changed since my ADP 1 :-/

Should I jump to the Moto X?

Motorola is offering the X at a stupid cheap price. I was wondering how the dev scene is for the phone? Is it fully unlocked including the kernel?
Its fully unlocked if you buy the Dev edition or T-Mobile unlocked edition, the latter lose its warranty when unlocking. As for the 'dev scene' you could find that out yourself, but there will be official CM for it.
sent via tapatalk
Depends on which one your buying. Dev edition? Which carrier? Seems like most people (including myself) are just rooting and installing gravity box. The phone is so solid as is that I don't think most people feel the need to be flashaholics. Do yourself a huge favor and read up on all the development threads

I would buy the Verizon edition and It would be the dev version;. Honestly yeah, Id just like to root it so I can well have root access for xposed framework, titanium back up etc.
I see it comes on JB 4.2.2 ... Also hows the hardware and camera?
Hardware is great IMO.....camera not so much

I'm thinking about making the jump today as well. It's the Moto X with a wood back or the Nexus 5. Has anyone transitioned from a Nexus 4 to the Moto X?
Main thing I'm concerned with is the lack of dev's and ROM options in comparison to my Nexus.

Roms aren't in big demand here. Xposed and gravity box give all the same customizations. Plus cm based anything takes away the unique Moto x features.
If rom flashing is anyone's thing....I'd pass on the x.
Maybe when the x is done getting updates roms will start flowing....but don't see much happening before then.

A better camera is the only thing stopping the Moto X from being the greatest phone of all time.

The Moto Maxx has an fxz of size 853MB while the Droid Turbo has 1.1Gb.... So doing the math it should have almost 300Mb of bloat!
300 mb of verizon apps???? how many apears in the menú??
There are 10 verizon apps if I remember correctly, and you can disable all of them, but delete none.
Thanks Slartibartfast, i will wait for international model (moto maxx) whithout verizon apps

Hi,
I am spanish too and I live in the US. I just got my Droid Turbo, a 64GB version. I can tell you 300 MBs over 64GBs is nothing
And I do recommend it
You can disable (not delete) them all, so they dont show up in your app drawer and cause unneeded clutter.

I miss root :(

Hey, new to the droid maxx section. I been with android sense they first came out. I been rooted sense day one. Now my friend give me this droid maxx as a gift cux he got the new iPhone 6s. Now he updated to the latest ota n I am frustrated I cant root this device. So sad rite now I miss adaway root explorer custom ROM custom recovery anything bout root I miss. Just wanted to share my sadness lol

The only part of your list I can relate to is adaway.
I used to ROM my Samsung phones to debloat and get better performance.
The Maxx just plain works as is.
Now the WiFi tethering root would allow would be nice.
I have rooted for a while now, and I am not missing it as much as I used to. All that flashing was out of control... Especially because the builds were sort of sketchy on my Razr M. Just not enough Dev support for the phones I seem to like. The Maxx works quite well as it is, and now I am impatiently waiting for Lollipop. I still flash builds on my Razr M once and a while.. Now that I have Maxx, the builds have gotten better.
I feel the pain, had an unlocked bootloader on my Maxx until I had to send the phone back in for warranty work. Now I'm stuck with locked 4.4.4. *sigh* I have a Moto X Developer Edition on the way so I can play.
At lease I am not alone lol. I do like flashing ROM. I usually stay wit the ones that is more stable. I play games on my fone so the more space I can make the better I feel haven't seen lollipop so hopefully I get it due to I have my maxx on metro pcs working perfect 4g LTE
